Just babbling here on the eve of my 34th birthday, but I've been doing some reflecting.

I've reconciled that due to a low dosage of a necessary medication, my output in terms of art has been reduced from 10 years ago. I used to draw like no other, producing 3 comics simultaneously on a weekly update schedule. Alas, things change.

The first dip approaching 2020 was mostly a result of burnout and a general reduction of energy levels due to normal aging. I also had a separate health matter that was eventually rectified with no side effects. However, now with my latest prescription, there is a more tangible physical impact that I feel nearly every day.

My arms tingle like when your limbs wake from falling asleep. This happens when I do repetitive movements (eg. drawing/painting) and sometimes when the blood flow just ain't right (I've had to readjust my arms while sleeping to get rid of that feeling).

Some days are better than others, and on these occasions, I usually get work done. I can still complete commissions and I can still complete Patreon obligations.

This pesky side effect has indeed chipped away at my illustrative productivity. I will persist, but not at the same capacity before my prescription.

I'm not going anywhere and I will still draw, but I am shifting my focus to novels and writing projects (typing is apparently low-impact for my symptoms and I can do that for much longer stints every day than drawing).

Ultimately I am grateful I can still express myself creatively through story-telling. And while drawing is a little harder for me now, I don't plan on completely stopping.
