My Two Coins: Boosters: Past vs Future
Disclaimer: "My Two Coins" are to be read as such, someone's two coins about the topic at hand. IF at any point you disagree with it or agree, remember they are just my coins about said topic and the value you have of it will differ from my own because of religion, upbringing, beliefs, and logic based on your own experiences. Do not assume my coins are the international equivalent for it may be considered of a lesser value in the bank of public exchange. Thank you.
In Runeterra you aren't able to have cards like normal. And instead, you can craft your deck. Hearthstone is not enjoying it but then again so are many players.
For me... I'm MIXED. I'll explain in a bit but first...
Welcome ladies and gentlemen of all ages. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And I'll have to explain myself before I go on. I play the TCG world like a hobbyist and a theorist. I by no means am an expert but I'm also trying to get into the world of card games so I can explain myself better in this sense that what I'm seeing in the gaming world might be a twist but also a punch to traditional card game acquirement. I'll explain this part of how the two are different.
Though one quick note. As of the making of this M2C (Date: 02/14/20), it's in Beta Mode so this can be altered. Please look into this before commenting.
=
In the game of Hearthstone (Hearthstone, Heroes of Warcraft) got three ways to gain card packs. The shop, Though Packs, and from crafting.
In Card Packs, you by boosters of five cards per that have a range of common, uncommon, rare, and legendary. Each of these rarities of cards is selected at random. To obtain them you'll need gold or your own money to gain them.
You can only get one pack if you got one-hundred Gold by the way. For two and more you'll need your real-life cash to obtain them.
In the shop you can get the following: Card Packs (mentioned earlier.); Bundles so you can get Packs, Hero skins, card backs, and a legendary(require real cash only.); Adventures (If you want multiple wings of an adventure you'll need real money while one wing at a time can be gained from real money or gold.), and Wilds, (Wild Packs: Money or Gold, Wild Adventures: Money only)
This might as well be a good time to explain gold before going into crafting. You gain it from battles (every trio of wins in Play mode, Tavern Brawls, and Battlegrounds), Quests (Dailies that reward fifty gold and more or it can vary on the quest that isn't as often.), Arena (Price is one-hundred and fifty gold. It's the gauntlet where it's three strikes and your out but the max wins is twelve, meaning fourteen games max. Though you can still win gold and packs so it can work.), and Heroic Tavern Brawls (It's like Arena but its entrance is a thousand gold and while you gain gold, it's not as viable.)
Crafting has it's own system which is mostly... Arcane Dust. Dust for short. If you decide to not get the card then you can decide to turn cards into dust...though it'll be pricey to get the card in the first place. (Eight times for Common, five times for Uncommon, and four times for Rare and Legendary) though you can snag a bit of dust within Arena and Ranked Chests (the end of season gift).
=
With Runeterra (Legends of Runeterra), you have various ways to get cards for free *Hears gasps in the background.* PROVIDED that you know what to do. The ways you earn them are like this: Weekly, Adventure, Draft, and Craft.
Each week [Starting from a Tuesday] you gain EXP to level up the Vault which levels up based on how much you've done over the week. You can get a variety of cards in groups of ten (so far seen. Also Boosters like normal!), shards, and Drafting Coins (expedition Tokens). If you got the max of certain cards they can become Shards.
Next so far is the Tracks which is many going from the Prologue to regional (There's one per region so it is so far six) which it will take time to get through since the EXP trap is in them and while you can earn Regional specific Cards you obtain Wild Cards and Shards.
An expedition is the Draft Mode where there's a select number of cards you can pick from and you pick your poison before going into battle. More wins, More rewards. (Though you can only do this three times before you gain nothing afterward.) It cost three hundred coins, three thousand Shards or a Draft Token.
Shards and Wildcards are, in a sense, the Crafting system of this game. With Wildcards, you can get certain cards of a certain rarity. Shards are kind of your basic cash: higher price will equal higher rarity cards.
You can pay directly through to the game but here's what you'll be paying for here: Starter Bundle (11 per region housing 6Common,4Uncommon, and a rare.) and Wild Cards (6 per week for Common & Uncommon plus 3 per week for Rare & Champion)
=
The reason why I'm mixed is that I come from a line of physical and digital card games. I'll roll how I consider some of this: In the past I consider Card Packs to not lie about their rarity and I know that a rare card was a rare card and it wasn't given a fancy name so in a sense, one can tell I whiffed the names of the rarity of cards in the games mentioned. But in seriousness, I wish that they were honest about their card rarity and while I will take an L when it comes to physical cards when getting certain cards, with digital I hope that there's a better way to take an L when getting boosters or the like.
For the record in Hearthstone has Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary while in Runeterra has Common, Rare, Epic and Champion. I played card games for quite a time and will say that it feels like it's kind of sad card games of current time are scared to say Uncommon and that I will also say that I like knowing that I can get random cards per pack like in a real card game but wish that games won't be ashamed to admit that they got cards between rare and common and not promise that you'll get a so-called rare since to me at least it means you'll always get uncommon in those games...which shouldn't be the case.
I'll end this with a bit of a wish with the newest game to arrive. With Runeterra's beta, I hope that they do allow you to get cards desired if you got enough for a deck's max limit (usually 3.) to allow you to turn extra cards into currency. Though also try to give an honest gameplay boost by battling. I'd recommend something but that's for another time.
Thus I'll let you speak up. What is on your mind with this card game trend?
As for me... this wild one runs away!

My Two Coins: About BL1, GSC and CNT.
Thank you.
Considering I'm wanting to do more BL1 and count downs.  I should explain myself more in those.
And if anyone is curious of how my ratings are with each of these I'll be able to speak up better with this.  Here we go.
Welcome ladies and gentlemen of all ages. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
As I get into more reviews and the like, I would like to hint what is about each rating that I give and how in a way I make a countdown.
First I'll explain GSB and CNT.
Those two are a set of countdowns that is short and direct that can make it quick and doesn't go into a lengthy countdown that are popular but gets to the point.  With GSB, it makes sense with Gold, Silver, and Bronze; the metals awarded in many competitions.  As for CNT... Cardboard is meant to be like this: You can make the cardboard worth something that would be interesting and able to invest in it.  Notebook is like this: you are personally writing something into it and it might be the journal of someone special someday.  With Toilet Paper....it's obvious what it means.
Now I can get into the ratings of my stuff.
The first thing is to keep in mind to NOT be the first boss of the game.  I consider that the tutorial battle's final challenge.  The first big climax that is to pull you into the game.  As an example, It's Bom-omb battlefield's King of explosives, in Undertale, This would be Toriel, in something like Final Fantasy 7, it's the first boss that you battle with Barret before setting up the bomb.  In Mario games, it's World 1-4 or 1-Mid Castle (or 1-Castle).  It's clear that after that first battle of the bosses you will be clear for knowing how good the game is in a sense. Now for the categories
Control - If you can't move your character well or go through options well that it makes it feel like you are able to smoothly go through choices is which means if you can get lost in the options of a main menu then I fear how confused where one is when the battle starts.
Story - As someone that is into lore I want to know some background or at least drive to push on.  Keep in mind that this is mostly RPGs and games with cut scenes.  If the story is able to help me know where to go then it's kind of a requirement but at least it helps it be in bronze and if it has flavor that is interesting to me then it'll go upwards.
Content - This is what things you can do in the game.  Can you go off course, can you catch creatures, are there mini games, how many things can you gather and a personal note, how one can be entertained in completing the story.  Is it through some odd stories, new treasures, or just how the mini games distract you sometimes to make you come back to the games.  If this is a part of a series then it will be considered of what was offered in the past too.
Flow - In a game how it is able to let you keep up with the main story and have it be understandable is key here.  Also it should not be so hard that you'll need to really grind or "GITGUD" with days of practice.  There's something that people might miss called a difficulty curve in which the difficulty of the game grows in an understandable way.  If this is too easy, it'll be a cake walk and it's mostly story based as far as I can get it.
Bosses - This is a CHALLENGE, you should be given an opponent to take on such a task of the game.  Is it a puzzle game?  Make sure the AI can make someone sweat.  Is it an RPG, depending on how far you are one should be challenged for how limited their choices are.  Don't make it so hard that you need a special item just to nerf it back to normal size.  At least be smart of this one.
I then unite the 5 things I judge into a reasonable score which likely range from Gold [or Platinum if they all get the platinum.] to Stone [which means the qualities are so low that it hurts.] so if anything there's flaws depending on certain things.  It shouldn't be a problem if one category is weak but if more than one is weak then it should be swiftly noted.  It shouldn't be too hard to understand now.
BUT if one is needed a commentary of sorts I'll open up in a sense.  Just let me know somewhere in the world.
As for me... this wild one runs away!

My Two Coins:  Value Insulted

Are you people sane anymore?  I really want to know since this is where I know this is getting close to ea and is in the realm of Bethesta.  Whom am I getting at?  Game Freak and Pokemon Company.  I think an introduction is in order. Welcome ladies and gentlemen of all ages. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And recently, we gotten news of BOTH Pokemon's Expansions (Frozen Tundra and the Isle of Armor.) and details of Pokemon home.  Allow me to explain this stuff to people who have been out of the loop or have held on for some good news. First going with the newest one. Pokemon Home has this kind of line up (Down below)
Home {=} Sword and Shield
Meaning you can transfer Pokemon too and fro from Pokemon Home to Shill and Slop (YES I said it, NO I won't take it back, you know I got opinions, or did you forget the warning label up front?) No problems there.
Home {=- Let's GO Eevee/Let's GO Pikachu
Meaning Pokemon you get in this game are likely going to never come back if they ever step a toe inside Galar.  Though as long as they don't they can jump back and forth between this and Let's Go.  Kind of a painful roll but then again I didn't by Let's Troll.
Home {= Bank (Generations 6 and 7.)
You'll need the Premium (Paid Plan) and in return...you'll be paying the tickets for any Pokemon you sent into Bank to NEVER return to Pokemon of the past generations, likely giving nerfs to them, and having their intelligence and power subtracted...if they can get into the games at all.  (There's more but I'll hold... until the ^ shows up.)
Home {= GO
There's not a word on this yet officially but Go might suffer the same as the Let's Go games at best.
=
Now we get into the features of Home.
The Wonder Box (iOS) is wonder trading without any big set up and can only be done... ON the application iOS variant.  (that's right, there's a switch one but I'll signal which is which as we go on.)  It'll allow you to trade for random Pokemon at the expense of having your Pokemon sent to whomever it can be at the other end of the world.  In the free variant you can trade as many Pokemon as there are heads on a Dodrio.  If you paid up for the bigger services, you'll be able to do add two more Dodrio and a Pidgeot to make that many heads as there are Pokemon you are allowed to trade.
Global Trade System (iOS) allows you to trade Pokemon for Pokemon with the exact things you need.  This normally means you were seeing legendary and mythic Pokemon being asked for ...at the prices ranging from other legendary creatures that are impossibles like a male Chansey or something at level 100 which is kind of specific but then again I can only imagine how chaotic this'll be.  By the buy... if you got the free variant, you can only get as many as a diglett face showing.  With the paid service, it's like that diglett evolved into dugtrio.
Room Trade (iOS) is a special room that'll allow you to trade with up to 20 people in a special “Wonder Room” where you won't know what you get until you start trading. If you are a free player you can only get into the rooms but paying up allows you to host such trolling houses.
Friend Trade (iOS) … seeing a pattern yet?  Anyhow this is where you can direct trade AND see what you are getting into.  Only difference is you can't use this under the age of 16.  (a thing understandable...to a point.)
National PokeDex (iOS & Switch) … FINALLY something found that belongs to both.  Anyhow, You can access the national dex in both and can filter things to find what is desired.  BUT... and here's the big one.  If you run the iOS variant, you'll get details like list by abilities, Moves, and maybe more.
Mystery Gifts (iOS) are special gifts for either Stuffing and Slime or for online which can be stuffed into a box.  Be sure you have the Best OS since some details won't happen.
Judge (iOS & Switch) ever wondered what your Pokemon's IV count is well this is where you can do it. Though if anything you can do it in the game too if I recall. JUST... you'll be able to do this if you paid for it.  YEP, it's a premium service if you want to do it in Home.
Room (iOS) This is where you can decorate a spot and fill it up with stickers...especially after doing certain tasks which might reward someone with more than that.
News (iOS)  You'll be updated on the battles that distributions, gifts and more in this variant.
Battle Data (iOS) This can let you see how the competition is doing.  Using certain Pokemon, seeing which are at the top, and more.  Though this won't be on release day...likely next month.
Home Points (iOS) by inserting and extracting Pokemon you can gain Home points to trans fer into BP (Battle Points.)  Screenshots provided... the exchange rate is (and I can be wrong.) is 30 points PER Battle Point.
=
Now that the features are out, how about storage and the differences of price?
With Pokemon Home's “FREE” system you can only...
Store a box of Pokemon (thirty), send three Pokemon through wonder trade, get one Pokemon worked on in the Global Trade System, Partake only in other's Rooms of trading, and can't judge a Pokemon online.
^Meanwhile on the “Premium” version of the system...
You can have two hundred times as many storage boxes (six thousand); which is double Bank's (btw, you'll need this to take Pokemon out of bank.), Wonder trade ten Pokemon, go for three Pokmon in the GTS at once, host and enter the rooms of trading, and judge a Pokemon.  Also this is where you can take Pokemon from Bank to home.
AND after hearing all this you are wondering the price.  Well let me set it up for you. (NOTE: this is all in United States currency.  Your prices may differ so please use the exchange rate to find this value in your homeland.  Also I added 1 penny since it makes it easier to figure out.)
There's three flavors to pick from.
The Monthly munch, a tiny but pricey three dollars.  If you are wondering why this is the pricey one. Paying this twelve months straight will lead to you losing thirty-six dollars a year.
Next is the Seasonal slurp, it's a bit higher but at the same price as the bank you get three months of this powerful 'service'.  And adding it all up to a year that's about the price of one year of Nintendo Switch Online Pass.  (though trust me that has a lot more value than what is given credit for by many, even if it can be better compared to what is next is a god sent.)
And finally the Yearly YUM!  For one year you get all this for the price of sixteen dollars a year. NOW keep in mind what I said before but also are paying for.  At worst... it's forty-one per year and at best it is twenty-one dollars yearly.  Why the price hike?  You'll need bank in order to use it fully if you aren't trying to use the DLCs (which are coming up.) for this service.  Which might work if you had to keep in mind that if you leave someone behind, you might lose them if you don't fork over the coin.
Now I can hear people saying this: “It's a service, they have to make money in some method.”
Thing is, it was free in the past and they are also the LARGEST franchise in existence.  And yet the small team split their focus and… fudged everything after their failure for fudging up every bit of this game.  Graphical fails, animation fails, interaction drops to barely petting them.  For what?  Empty Story that refused to allow you to go see what's going on and just allow you to see the next gym; a wild “area” that is as barren as get out with barely any real life with bad graphics, barely a lot of Pokemon or people for that matter, and wonky weather systems that can be as random as dice, and you're Safari Zoned since you can't catch a Pokemon over your skill level; EXP love for everyone... NO matter what; and the most BROKEN GAME MECHANIC that ever existed.  And yet...that's not all.  It's time to see about the Island of Armor and the Frozen Tundra!
=
The Island of Armor is able to allow the following.
You get a new location that is likely more of a wild area as far as seen in the tropics to the west side of the region, you'll gain a new Pokemon Kubfu and it can evolve into Urshifu which can become Water/Fighting (Rapid Striker) or Dark/Fighter (One Striker) the Power to evolve the starters to be the drum machine with party hair, Goku riding a Flaming Jynn that is enough to gulp a mansion, and double zero seven now becoming the role of TF2's Snipper, new LOOT to allow one to do more than ever before, Move tutors... which is a bit of a requirement FOR competition play, and restricted battle play which probably is a problem since we don't know how it is restricted in 'sparring'.
As far as story content, you'll end up encountering Leon's teacher (when did this get hinted at?), Mustard who has an apprentice too who is aiming to craft a gym of their own. Though it'll be based on which version you roll with. (Klara for the blade wielders, Avery for the shield barriers.)  This is so far all we got with this.
Now for the Frozen Tundra's gifts to the world.
You get a new location that is far FAR south in the world that is also in a wild area (Is that the south pole of Pokemon?  Seriously?  I really wanna know.) so you'll be tasked with exploring this chilly place, a Mythical/Legendary by the name of Calyrex which looks like a fusion dance of Sawsbuck or Stantler and Celebi and it kind of went south, and... just a Co-op Mode to explore a certain space which probably isn't safe since mythicals are said to be in those spaces.
Now for the NEW stuff both got.
New regional forms (*looking to her personal project.*  Gahhhh!!!!  I got more to do?!?), Pokemon of the past rejoining the battle (*Hearing #BringBackNationalDex cheers*)...but not all of them sadly (*Hearing #BringBackNationalDex boo hard*) for now, New Pokedexes, New attire to wear for all you fashion fowls to wear, and new Dynamax/Gigantamax battles to be ready for in the Max Raid Rumbles.
More information will be sent out but keep this in mind that so far they have proven that they CLEARLY removed this since it was MONTHS since the release and already releasing new stuff just to revive their LOST content that was in the base.
“BUT Smash has this kind of stuff too and you didn't complain.  In fact, you're likely buying that stupid game's second pass while hating on this game that is giving you more!”
Very cute but wrong.  Let me explain why I was saying that.
Super Smash Brothers has made clear what they are doing, and even announced that they are adding more but will take time to do it since it might not be out in time for launch and they took care to balance it to work with the fighters ALREADY in the game which have old and new faces and returning heroes.  They shown they CARE for their community and even at times troll them. (...I got hate hammers for two in direct range: Incenaroar, and K.Rool.)  And they have made the passes more fair than buying them one by one.  So far each character is six dollars if you go solo and together they were twenty-five dollars together which cuts a dollar off of each.  With the second one it can be the same and it'll be worth it since the full game already has a lot of heroes, villains, and copies to pick from.  Clearly Super Smash Brothers Ultimate will be one of the largest fighting/party game line ups in video game history!
Pokemon Sucker and Pokemon Snot meanwhile... was able to lie about what was going into the game, they have shown quality drops year after year in an attempt to get more money with not only making their games almost so far that competitive players are paying out the @$$ but heaven help the completionist that wants to get it all for the price of each of these games that have added up.  The total of all the Generation eight content has so far hit four-hundred and twenty-one dollars and this is using the price of having it all for at least the entire year.
“HEY!  Don't forget the Nintendo Switch Online stuff since you are having to use that in order to get the Pokemon for free if you aren't going to by the-.”
STOP right there!  STOP right there you piece of ignorance.  Nintendo's online service has problems but in NO instance is that a part of Pokemon since they did offer you the power to trade and play against others on it's own, and UNTIL that price is shown the this price can be higher and trying to say that the Nintendo Online Service is it then sorry but that has more things to do than just Pokemon and thus THIS will not be added.  Period and Exclamation POINT!
And before I forget, THANK YOU REAR ENDS FOR MAKING THE ONLINE SYSTEM A PAID SERVICE SINCE I KNOW YOU'VE CRIED FOR IT TO HAPPEN!  HOPE YOU LOVE IT...
Now back on topic, and getting near the end folks...how it is @$$ that a system that has so called more power, more pixels, and more controls than the 3DS is able to give less Pokemon, less interaction, less story, and less post game than what was given on generation six which was the most insulted of all next to generation five.  I can't help but feel this is the true greed of Game Freak, of Pokemon...and it's disgusting to the very bleeping bone.  I will never buy that trash, I'll never put it into my switch, and if anyone even thinks of getting me that game it will go right into the nearest GameStop and I'll be getting coin off of your stupidity because I rather not own something that I would not even feed a Trubbish with.
I rather be playing a mobile game than ever touch that Cr@P willingly.  And I have no love, respect, or heart to give for someone defending all of those practices, all of the things removed to be put into pieces of other things... and think they should be called a gamer.  So help me I rather break your game karts of that sh!t so it never enters the hands of someone naive again.  Maybe I should use them, erase their contents and put a BETTER game in it's place, especially if they aren't going to fix the version they flipped up.
{|=|=|=|}
BUT... since this is the internet, I know someone's got something to say about this that I'll be likely arguing over but then again this is where I know I'll get it.  So as a believer of what I feel, COME AT ME!!! in commentary down below As for me... this wild one runs away to get a shower in to cool off.  F@<K you Game FrEAk!

My Two Coins: New Direct(ion)?
Disclaimer: "My Two Coins" are to be read as such, someone's two coins about the topic at hand. IF at any point you disagree with it or agree, remember they are just my coins about said topic and the value you have of it will differ from my own because of religion, upbringing, beliefs, and logic based on your own experiences. Do not assume my coins are the international equivalent for it may be considered of a lesser value in the bank of public exchange. Thank you. So... Pokemon is basically giving us their first DLC/Download...and we are basically getting F-ed over the barrel for a price hike of 113% to 225% of a Pokemon game.  Let's talk... Welcome ladies and gentlemen of all ages. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
Pokemon recently unleashed the announcement about two games. The first (and you can suck a Lugia Length 'Grass' Joe.  You know who you are!) the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is getting a Remix and coming to the Switch. The Second (and this shall eat the rest of this M2C) is about the updates to the newest generation of mishandled property, Pokemon Shill & Pokemon Slop and the services around it.  We are getting two new DLCs... PER game.  And I'll explain their content after telling that each DLC will add 100 new Pokemon which is a bit of a start but we got to wait for the rest...maybe...and we are ALSO waiting for Bank which means we got more to be able to pull the past to the future... BUT it will tell the fools they are able to get away with this and rob you of your lower garments before you are able to snag your wallet and enjoy your behind before throwing you out on the road.  And also... for a change of pace; to the Salty Shellder customers, specifically, those Oran berry munching Buiz are about to get violated when they hear who's coming back. Now back to the commentary.  For the first DLC (Island of Flame Armor), we are going to get a new area to check around, a dojo which is an extension...and after finishing the storyline with its own game variant rival (Psychic or Poison) and we'll be getting a new bear that can evolve into a Pangoro remixed or a Poliwrath remixed. In the second (The Crowned Turdra), we are leading exploration into dens and you can even do it with a partner.  Finding all kinds of Pokemon in the depths and finding the proverbial "world tree" that probably can be a hub of sorts and thus we get a new deer mythical/legendary that seems to be Xerneas trying to doll itself up. I'm kind of sad and happy about all of this. Happy that the Pokemon are able to be brought back without needing to jack into the Switch but... Sad when I know we are paying for hostages with bonuses. Getting a new Game mode post-game, a Pokemon team-up moment, and new Pokemon as well as getting Pokemon back at nearly the price of half of the common AAA switch Game.  People keep forgetting that the savings don't pass down to us.  Especially, when looking for savings.  We are paying $90 per game...instead of $40... (if getting the most full version only.) which is a 225% increase and no I'm not taking it back since this is a scary thing. (Though if you are getting all the TRUE mainline games then it's 160 vs 180...which is 113% increase.  Still a price hike.) If you are someone that buys this... then I will say you are supporting trash since it means you will be saying "You can hold our past hostage, to be bought at half of the full rip off game.  And we can get away with subtracted content to sell you how we desire."  And you can't hide that at all. At least I'm glad to get that out.  But what about you?  Do you feel the same?  Or do you feel like something else?  Comment where you can. As for me... this wild one runs away!

Beyond Level 1:  Pokemon Sword & Shield
Disclaimer: Beyond Level 1 is a review of a game starting from the checkpoint of defeating the first boss of a game. After all tutorial levels and battles shouldn't be counted in how a game is to give you what you deserve for a game but it is where the real battle begins as they can either fail you or help you get deeper into a game. Take this in mind though. This is just this reviewer's opinion and may not fall in line with the line of how you rate the game. After all, everyone has an opinion. Thank you. Before I begin I'll be honest, this is one of those few games that I refuse to pay the cash for a pair of reasons. The first reason is to not give idiots that say that “If you don't like it Don't buy it. Don't judge a game you haven't bought.” that go into the combo of “Hahaha you bought the game, you really can't hold your ground and it's clear you loved it still.” And second is because of the recent actions that have been given and I am not putting my system at risk for anything like that. I will rather be a well knowing reviewer than an ignorant one. Clearly, people have been divided about the game ever since the Electronic Entertainment Expo of Twenty Nineteen. Since then I'm sad that it was shown so much of a mess. Barely any communication, no regret call outs, lies exposed, lies made, and fires started up that was on multimedia of many spots. And I'm reviewing this with what I have experienced with the knowledge and using a bit of a demonstration that was open as far as I know. So...without further ado, on with the biggest disaster in the history of this series. Salutations one and all! I am the mage of games, Jewelwriter Eli Moonstar! And this is a review of Generation 8 as of the time of this release date. THIS is Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield.
[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]
(Control) – Metal Again, we are stuck with only the stick to move, and only one as the other stick is used specifically for the Wild area, while the rest is using barely the rest and it seems like you can't even go into single joystick mode [as in one Switch Controller] to allow someone to play with another controller to try something for a while and invite someone to play without a way to play. It could have done better and allow the first mainline game on a console to do more than just something standard. You even got the Pokeball plus that could have been used for something special but it isn't to be. And the shoulder buttons aren't even used for this game or others. Not even for audio (And you got to go out of the way to find the controls for the audio... by talking to someone.) It's not an escort the non-battling damsel through to try to discover the power of a Pokemon that will eventually be yours. Thank stars for that... instead, you get... told that you gotta do all the gym challenges and in the end, the soft rival that is Hop gives up on Pokemon training, Rose goes mental, and you turn the final push to become a champion into a stain on the grass. Way to go for this one. If this was a part of the Red, Blue, and Yellow story-line it would be more at home than this. []-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[] (Content) – Stone With the cut amount of content, it's kind of sad to see Pokemon like this. Graphics aren't in reviews like this one because as one will know, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And thus if I do it will be for reasons like we are “subtracting content to improve visual quality” and well... look where that got us. Only seventy-five new Pokemon and barely any post-game unless you are doing the norms... which is shiny hunts, Pokemon battles, and the only other multiplayer that other players can TRUELY play in are max raids. And with the Dynamax power being basically three turns of HP buffing, it's clear that this not going to help a lot, especially if you can get snipped to KO in one turn while using it. Also, to anyone saying that there's at least Pokemon Camp, It's no longer Pokemon Amie V3....it's Pokemon Amie V.5 with how little you can do there. []-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[] (Flow) – Bronze When it is almost too easy that it could take a casual play of nearly 3/4ths of a day then something is off, especially if you are taking the time to try to be at level...which is kind of hard to do when you got EXP being given out like candy...(though there's literally candy that can give EXP directly instead of a full out level up.) and with barely a lot of trainers outside of the main cast offering four-plus Pokemon and hunting down characters... it kind of burns when knowing so much was lost and little if any was gained. When the gameplay provides no feeling of saying there's more to the game or hints that it's less, there's a problem that can't be hidden because it'd mean a major patch to the system and Game Freak doesn't do that at all so we can all drop that idea at all. []-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[]-[] (Bosses) – Bronze I'm tempted to go lower...and yet I really can't. Sure this is a bit difficult, especially when trying to NOT use certain mechanics that are basically easy as you like it and thank the EXP All being on all the time though it pulls it out of the metal only just because we finally get a dark gym...as the seventh gym. And leader of the annoying villainous team. I'm not too shocked but then again with no Elite Four that keeps you from going for the champion slot so fast just kind of sinks things down. And keep in mind this is for someone that tries to get a variety of fun allies and you probably will have a time making a team of just Galar true Pokemon (who aren't from Kanto). (Overall Rating) – Metal [-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-] I'm sad that Pokemon has to go this way. And while I do have a fan-based hold of the series... I'm feeling the fans, the ones that do projects; the ones that craft their own games and art and more; I feel those are the real games to follow now despite my mixed feelings of some of the Fan-made Pokemon. It's barely above metal at this point with how all this goes as I look on to this and remember, I'm will never look at the graphics or the music since that is a lot more subjective than objective in a deep sense and this is looking beyond the first boss which in this case is the first Gym. It was generation seven that hurt me, but it took one more generation to break my heart and to those that think that this is the right direction of the series keep this in mind: Each one of you that buy this game, you are supporting them to go in a direction that is subtracting than adding, they could add all the Pokemon in and there was no real excuse. (And to those who say that a cut is inevitable, I say if the Pokemon are animated with only a few attack animations and connect moves correctly to them then I see at least reaching twelve hundred full Pokemon) Subtracting from some games might make them better but not when it is a part of the series itself. Cutting out Pokemon from the Pokemon game is like subtracting pizzas from Pizza Hut, Burgers from Burger King, Dairy from Dairy Queen. It's not logical if you go into a restaurant named for certain foods of sort and it doesn't have a large variety of them. Sadly, I have to say this but this might be the last one I'll experience directly but I'd be an @$$ if I didn't get to it. So excuse me while I leave Cinderace (Fire), The apple dragon (Grass/Dragon), the shocking bio-hazard (Poison/Electric), Sandoconda (Ground), Morpeko (Electric/Dark), and Zacican (Fairy or Fairy/Steel) behind for friends that I know I can keep with me. And Pokemon Home might not be that location. If you care to give your opinions, send up your comments below. I know that this is going to be commented on or used for fact slinging but keep in mind that this is the point of view of this reviewer and I know that I am just one voice but I will rather be someone that's heard than rather than someone silenced. And thank you for being who you are: Smart consumers that look into what they are buying. *takes a bow as the curtain closes.*

CNT:  Pokemon Pokewrongs.
Disclaimer: "Cardboard, Notebook, Toilet" is a personal countdown based on my own thoughts and measurements.  Please do not consider this as the list of all lists.  Also to let people know.  This is a smaller countdown as to not be as intrusive and get to the main ones that can be considered the best of the best in a certain manner.  If you have your own countdown of sorts, please post it up down below.  Thank you and enjoy the writing.
When things are going to be poop, it's clear that you need a way to let out what it is because it isn't healthy to keep it in.  And with as big a game series as Pokemon... yea..there's a lot to get out.
With this list I'm calling out three personal ones that I feel should have been kept in the series to not only make it an easier time for people to keep their pokemon going for years to come, but also give more faith into a series that was direly needed it.
Welcome ladies and gentlemen. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And this is the CNT of the things that I think Pokemon has done wrong.  Or as I’ll call them.  Pokewrongs!
Cardboard:  Game to Game Transport. Pokemon Bank and the successor, Pokemon Home.  I don't mind them but...
THEY didn't need to happen if we could transfer Pokemon from 1 game to another.  This is in a way a cash pull when we had a BETTER way to get our Pokemon in previous games without a transfer box system that can allow you to move Pokemon up from Gens of the past to the future.  It's a problem and while now not as much as big a problem as the others on the list, it is still annoying, especially when the Pokemon is more likely not to be shown in the newer games.  And one shouldn't get started on knowing when the last time a certain Pokemon got any credit outside of the gen the were seen in.
Notebook:  Obtaining Pokemon one-hundred fifty-one.
THIS is getting highly close to raiding EA’s turf.  Tell me, if you think Amiibo are loot boxes then this will make hose look like country fair toys in comparison.  Introducing the Pokeball Plus toy.  What does it do?
It works in pairs of the Switch... with one game.  As a controller with a few inset buttons and a ball-like design, it feels like a Pokeball.  That you 'throw' to help you catch the Pokemon.  And it holds a Pokemon within it.
It also holds the mythical Pokemon Mew.  A Pokemon that has helped draw the game into fame.  So what is the cost of not only getting a controller but also a mythical Pokemon?
[Video] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QhtpJcydYA
Yea.  Nearly a full game (or is one in some discount magic) and it's barely used in one game...maybe two if at all.  This is paywall guarding at it's best.  Even the Amiibos are better valued than such a waste of a potential item or a Mythical Pokemon.  I could get 4 full-priced Amiibo for the same cost of that with Tax!
(Dishonored Mention) For people that know my stance of Pokemon, I would have put this on the Toilet Paper slot instead but it was too easy of an obvious fail to miss.  If anything I'll say this now: IF I need to replace this with another then I would put it here.  And that's... bringing Back the Battle styles like Triple Battles, Contests, and more.  Yea.  Pokemon has more uses than one.  But the thing is the games don't give you more than 1 try at them and it saddened me to see this happen but what can be considered toilet paper is a harsher hit than this.
Toilet Paper:  The lack of all Pokemon to be promised in every game.  (#BBND) People knew this was coming and I can get it out of me in here.  Seriously, the data and size could be no excuse for it.  The other excuses have been blown out of the water too.  Allow me to show a few.
"You played the same game for 20 years and you didn't complain until now":  It's because despite the issues I at least complained of them and yet knew from gen 3 to 7... 5 generations, had ALL the Pokemon in them.  All the sprites were done.  FUDGE, even today the creatures were future-proofed and are on a better system even with the limited range of motions.  The excuse is bs
"You'll buy it anyhow.  Stop whining, entitled brat": First, I got pride to NOT buy trash, just like you got pride to buy garbage.  But I am not going to not just vote with my coin, but WILL vote with my voice so they know what fails are being done.  It's people that say only money talks are how we end up with stuff like EA and the like and the thing is I do watch what I'm doing.  (By the way... a little side note:  I'd rather buy TMS#FE even if it's 'censored' because it's got more content.)  As for whining, no...it's criticism, the kind that has been held back since gen 7's start and at times gens 6's misadventures.  Unlike Savij, shouts to him, I saw gen 6 as the best when it comes to gameplay feel (though the story is a clear step backward) and would like to go back to that with more POLISH!  By the way, how the world is one entitled when they are buying a product?  Really, you are confusing the idea of Buy/Sell and the like.
I'll drop one last one here.
"Things Change":  ... Yes, they do.  They do change.  Sometimes it is for the better and would be a good thing.  Which in this case is usually the Pokemon.  But other times there's a bad change.  Such as a focus on graphical power, showing off that they are able to do something others could do for years and not live up to the standards that were just to be true to themselves.  If we aren't careful and ask for a Better change, then we'll end up with more than just Mew locked in a Pokeball.  More than Missing out on finding and taking on god itself.  We'll be missing out... on having a choice of what Pokemon we want; on having a legacy be kept from a friend or a battling star; on having a choice on going beyond what the developers want to limit when battle rules already were made.  It kind of sickens me that people want less and are encouraging for it too.
But of course, that's my thoughts.  Speak up on what you think should be here.
And remember... the quality of the product is up to the individual!  My toilet paper might be your gold.

GSB:  Three Boosters for Pokemon Games
Disclaimer: "Gold, Silver, Bronze" is a personal countdown based on my own thoughts and measurements.
I'm going to be honest with you, the people... Pokemon has great potential to be really good.  Too bad that there's a lot of downsides in it all to really get there.  But if anything there's at least some hopes that I do want to see put in some time to make the Pokemon games a wonderful thing.  And, unlike a top 10 or 5, it's going to be in my format.
Welcome ladies and gentlemen. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And this is the Gold, Silver, Bronze for making Pokemon better again.
Bronze:  Removing any benefits from interacting with your Pokemon from effecting the battles that are in the game at all. (Plus)  Put EV mini games back into the games.
I'll swing this out first since there's something that I bet a lot of people aren't thinking of right now.  Pokemon wants you to use the Pokemon Amie (This time Version 3) to not only make having fun with your Pokemon a boon for suggestion grabbers and teddybear simulator fans but reward you for it by giving your Pokemon boosts that will aid them in the battles that it goes through.  THANKFULLY this doesn't go into the battle modes against other players or the next battle tower (hopefully) but make it where it's not helpful at ALL and only works for being in the Amie playscape.  It's probably not going to happen but if they did this then the battles might be smoother.  Though if you are wanting to use this feature of interacting with the Pokemon to mean something big, put EV gaining games into the Amie system.  If you are going to make your powerhouse a monster and have it REALLY affect the game, do this.  Trust me, it might get tiring but it can save you effort to battle and all you need to do is LEVEL up which can be done a number of ways... especially if the words of multi leveling candy are true.
Silver:  GET rid of the Pokemon Box in your Bag.
Gather around trainers since this was one of the better ages of battle, where you had to rewind your efforts and risk having a really safe spot not be around for miles in order to PATCH up your team's HP and Switch your Party via talking to the PC.  You novice trainers got it too easy and it really sucks that you get aroused at the idea of EASE of access when there is supposed to be a REAL challenge.  It's bad enough the EXP share is on by default and the like but come on, give us a reason to visit Pokemon Centers that aren't going to be gimmick collecting!  We already got convenience baked in since gen 5 did it for us, putting in the options of going to a Pokemon Center to Shop for items instead of going to an individual shop to buy a product.  This is the kind of convenience that should be in the games.  Not make it where the PCs are just dust collectors.  I mean we still got terminals that can be used for this reason.
(Honored Mention) I'm giving this to the obvious one of all that probably should be gold but I'm keeping away from the obvious because of how much hate has been shot at by others and you [BLEEP]ing know who you are and I'll give you and two certain youtube personas the middle fingers of rage.  One with an M to start and one with a V to start.  And if you don't like it, then take a D up your A.  And that's easy: Put the Pokemon, the namesake of the series, back into Pokemon games, period.  From zero-zero-one (001) to Eight-hundred nine (809).  Sure you can limit the forms but no bleeping deleting Pokemon from the records.
Gold:  Give Pokemon more than just one style of Battle to do mostly in the games.
Bet you didn't see this one coming huh?  A bit of a backstory for those that are too set in stone: There have been mini-games that worked to reward you for playing the game in a different way.  These reward you with a number of things.  Pokemon, TMs, and Items in the original and each gen on up to gen 4.  Sure not to add casino-style games but something that is fun and could be fun for you and the Pokemon.  Have it where you can win or lose is a benefit.  If the Pokemon Wins, it can earn things from a few berries to comic shards and star pieces.  If you win, you can get a stat boost or stat shrink to an IV stat of a Pokemon and thanks to the nature that a Pokemon has, they could be more to a certain nature to help make it more predictable to a degree, at least if it favors a certain stat to boost.  It'd be a good win-win for all.  Though for this, save it for the post-game.  It's starving for content.
So I'll let you guys talk it over to say what you like.  Let me know what you think somewhere on the net.
And remember... the quality of the product is up to the individual!  My gold might be your toilet paper.

My Two Coins:  Legacy
Disclaimer: "My Two Coins" are to be read as such, someone's two coins about the topic at hand. IF at any point you disagree with it or agree, remember they are just my coins about said topic and the value you have of it will differ from my own because of religion, upbringing, beliefs, and logic based on your own experiences. Do not assume my coins are the international equivalent for it may be considered of a lesser value in the bank of public exchange. Thank you.
Ever since generation three moved to the fourth, we were given the chance to keep up with our team and make sure that we are never without them.  We gained a lot of things.  New legacies, New Pokemon, and even new moves that allow you to be more intelligent with your game.  And you can be proud of what you have done over the ages.
So why in Giratina’s reversed world would people support cutting out legacy when there are so many questions and problems still to be solved?!
Welcome ladies and gentlemen of all ages. You've found a wild Jewelwriter.
And I’m likely going to be video bombing the fudge out of this with a triad of them but I’ll try to keep this from getting too long.  But first a note.  The Treehouse showed Pokemon and one of the things said is that only Pokemon that are rendered into the Galar Pokedex will be showed and it is themed on the Pokemon that will show up in that region. (How some Pokemon are there and others aren’t is a mystery.)  But the thing is they are rendering only those Pokemon.
Even if the future models of all the Pokemon were made in gen 6 and sure proofed over 700 Pokemon back then and got the number up to 800 plus the ‘regional variants’ and added new models and the like; all of this is rendered pointless for ‘balance’, ‘time crunch’, ‘memory’, and ‘graphics’.  Allow me to bite each of these.  Starting with the one I know people will hate, ESPECIALLY the PINK SMOGON PONY! (You know who you are.)
[Balance] “Pokemon has over 800 Pokemon.  They all can’t be good and they all can’t stay.” “This game got too many of the same top rated Pokemon and this is going to shake up the game." I heard this Karp before and I say, blame the people who top for not changing things up.  If anything a saying is probably the best of all to describe this bit of BS as utter trash.
“Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best.” -Karen, Johto Elite Four Member
And if you really want to balance the BLEEPING game, I got the easiest of ideas everyone can agree on and make those legend lovers cry: Make all Pokemon that are Breeding able be allowed in all future competitions. The Landorus can’t get it on, Cresselia can’t get a mon, and even our Lord and founder Arceus (will never be a Helix member, bite me!) can’t just arrive from above and give some Female Pokemon the Zeus treatment without the problems of such a god.  That will thin the herd a lot and can give people more creative options in competition but allow the gods to be usable in free battle and special rules for legendary and Mythicals so they can be used OUTSIDE of being Pokemon storage spaces.

[Time Crunch] “We the fans deserve the games as fast as possible at high quality.” “Everyone knows that the games were in three-year intervals and all the others turned out good.” “We are getting extra games” This is something I personally will not see can be defended since there’s a quote that should have been kept in mind with this and has been shown for ages.
“A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”- Shigeru Miyamoto (2012)

[Memory] “Memory is limited, do you want this game to be over 64GB?“ “Space is limited and development is hard.” Sometimes I wish that you people would listen to yourselves.  Technology is able to be worked around.  We got unlimited space.  We can do it all now that we got more technological freedom.  And yet I gotta say it,  Tech is still limited but there’re ways to SHRINK the space used, of using space effectively to make it not so hard to program.  Also, following trends is able to break the flow of gameplay.  Sure, one says that fighting in real time would be one of the next steps in the Pokemon battles, but when a series sticks to their guns and not bend always to the will of tends, the people gain more things than imagined.  I'm saying don't follow what is going on with the business but keep in mind what the people want to a degree.  If you just suddenly don’t make all the characters accessible in some shape or form by the time they are at the post game when you have done it for years (As in you can obtain any Pokemon from the past in some shape or form) then you are going to break your audience’s minds in the WRONG way.  It was bad enough that some features got ignored or things got distilled (Post game, Megas, Mini games to name the big ones that most want to re-experience.) but to do something like what is happening now is going to make a bigger wave than ever in a negative direction.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJj0B8Zm_Z0
[Video Intermission]
[Graphics] “This is what Pokemon is about.  No more chibi looks and the like.” “Pokemon in a more realistic light means that we all can be more immersed in this game.” WHEN HAS GRAPHICS BEEN IMPORTANT... IN A POKEMON GAME?  This is a game of tactics, Intelligence, mind games and no sign of Quick Time Events or Reaction commands.  It’s in a way a light RPG (which I know some will say it’s not really an RPG but seriously... it is an RPG where you gain party members, get them stronger, Gain stats, and make them into your warriors) but it’s still a fun thing that anyone can do if given the time and methods.  There’re people that are willing to go through the hard work and in a way it’s like World of Warcraft with how they have the Classic variant and the newest one.  People are starting to flock over because of Classic because they feel like they earned their gains and not got pushed into them like it’s free candy.
=====
But this is likely not going to be heard.  This is likely not going to be addressed.  And in the end I bet you that people will be muted by the people that are ignorant to the problems at hand.  But tell me what you think somewhere.
As for me... this wild one runs away!

That...was...epic!  (*Clapping*)
Over the course of a long campaign that sent young characters into middle age, a studious spellblade has been filling an empty Spell book with runes with remaining spells she has right before rest periods and whenever she has off days. She originally kept the book to kill someone who destroyed another party member, who turned out to be the big bad in the overarching story through several adventures across all portions of the material realm, including a few extraplanar visits as well. When asked about it she replies.
Veronica(Spell blade:)“It’s my magic book. Whatever you do, do not read it, or else face the wrath of an angry writer.”
Bronze-gutter (Dwarf Defende and Friend who has been with us since the beginning, and knows that I don’t use a spellbook for spells due to being a spontaneous caster): -He takes me to the side one day, and asks-: is this about The Lich? (Ironically we never did learn his actual name).
Veronica: Partially. Its more about revenge really.
————————————————————-
Time passed and most of our party changed out mostly except for Veronica and Bronze who managed to stay alive through the several hell gauntlets worth of campaigns that the DM could throw at us, we’ve gone through three to four sets of other party members by the time we reached this point, an army has been amassed by the big bad, and at this point the DM has completely forgotten about the books significance. Only making note due to my diligence to it, and assumes its a spellbook. So he sends one of The Lich’s henchmen to steal it. Successfully so.
Veronica: I check my spellbook(she had purchased an actual one to do the page filling on just in case of such an occasion), is it there?
Dm: It seems over the night one of the lich’s henchmen, knowing that you were preparing to assault his castle has stolen it. Sorry you should have put some security on it or something, I’ve warned you in the past about that.
Veronica that is okay, does he read it? After all its emanating very powerful magic, which he may benefit greatly from.
Dm: Hmm? Sure he’ll read it.
Veronica: Hes reading this in the army the lich raised right?
Dm: Yes why? Is there something thats going to- oh… -finally remembers what Veronica said all the way back then- The revenge plot..
Veronica: -smirks, and pulls out a sheet, a worn sheet thats covered in numbers, as well as her dice calculator on her laptop.- I’ve spent years working on this book. Every day filling it with explosive runes with remaining spell slots. Thanks to all that effort, is time to see how much damage this finally does. There are 1200 fine typed explosive runes on each page, theres 100 pages total, and each of those deal 5d6 of force damage.“
Dm: Ohhhhh god.
Bronze-Gutter(having caught on a while ago): -chuckling at this point-
“That averages out to around 600,000d6 of force damage.”
Dm: Well… good job… -clearly defeated at this point- you blew up a third of the lich’s army in one shot, and due to causing magical armagedon with that book, I’m going to say you’ve effectively recreated the mourninglands with explosive runes only. There is now a hole to the plane of force in the material realm, which is blasting apart the general area for the next few years, due to that being similar to a gate spell, now psionics, who drew their powers from that plane are going to start trickling in alongside a number of outsiders… Living spells that consist of explosive runes will form across this devastated zone, making the place a death trap for future generations to come. You will go down in history as the writer of the apocalypse.“
Bronze: -can hardly breathe from how hard he is laughing- Oh goddesses, Veronica what in the blazes did you do?!
Veronica: -Almost completely straight faced, with the slightest hint of a smirk.- I told you guys not to read my book, it had a rather explosive plot line.
The rest of the party but Bronze slowly backs away from Veronica, the later of which claps her on the back, “Can’t imagine the poor saps face. He probably knows that was meant for him, oh my…-he breaks down laughing a bit- If there was ever any doubt about it before, I think you’ve won my heart this time Veronica completely.
Veronica: No one fucks with my friends and get away with it, thats just how things are Bronzie, you know that.
Wizard in our party: how much did that take for you to make that thing?!
Veronica: 100 gold for the book, and years of dedication to filling a book with explosive runes.
Wizard: I can wish 20,000gp worth of items with a 10,000gp diamond, I’ll wish for 200 more books of explosive runes!
DM: BY THE NAME THAT IS ME, NO! VETO! DENIED! NO WAY IN HELL IS THERE GOING TO BE MORE OF THOSE BOOKS.
We never did get to completely remake the events leading up to the fallout series from there after that point. That and the Dm never let me use rune spells again. Funny thing is, if he had a Spell resistance of 28 or so, the guy would have been immune to the explosion.
