Gleeboot Main Character Descriptions (Original Cast)
Hey everyone, Yes, I know you all know the basics of each Glee Character and what their personalities are, however, what I am going to show is who they are in my series and what issues I will be focusing on fixing for each character. I sincerely hope you enjoy this rebrand of Glee and will consider reading my rewrite. Also, I consider Blaine, Sam, and Coach Beiste part of the original cast so I will be including descriptions of them as well since they all played large parts in the show.
Starting off with the very first character shown, the queen herself, Sue Sylvester.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Sue became a one-dimensional villian as the series went on with an irrational hatred for the glee club and its director Will Schuester making the story predictable. Whatever growth Sue had in her feelings towards the club was always rejected in favor of her being their biggest obstacle which became tiresome as the seasons went on. She also was given an insane storyline of being obsessed with Kurt and Blaine's love story in the final season. What went right: The exploration of Sue's family namely her mother and sister truly gave the depth that was needed to show why Sue became who she was. Her softness with Jean (her sister) and Becky were always so heartwarming and what made Sue a person rather than a characture.
What this means for Gleeboot: Sue will absolutely remain the villian until the needed character developement is cause for her to grow and have new enemies (ex. Coach Beiste's arrival and cutting Sue's budget in Season 2, Coach Roz Washington trying to take Sue's job in Season 3) to keep the story fun and interesting while still keeping the edge to Sue that's needed to make her hilarious yet effective.
Up next is a character who needs a lot of redeeming the coach of the New Directions, Will Schuester
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Where do I even begin? Will came off as incredibly creepy with his relationships with students instead of being the inspirational teacher he was intended to be. Also he was incredibly toxic in his relationship with Emma as the seasons went on putting her down constantly and never seeming to support her hopes and dreams which was so uncharacteristic of who Will was shown to be in the earlier seasons of Glee. He also stood his ground on issues that clearly didn't matter (ex. When he got pissed at Sue for banning twerking in school rather than agreeing to help Unique get a gender-netural bathroom). He also bent over backwards to appease Rachel which he was rightfully called out for but the show made it seem like whoever did so was 'jealous' or 'complaining for no good reason'.
What went right: In the first season Will was mostly everything we could hope for as an inspirational teacher particularly in the episode 'Wheels' when he had the entire Glee Club spend a week in wheelchairs so they could understand the hardships wheelchair bound Artie went through. He also rightfully tried to showcase and lift up the entire club earlier rather than focus on his two favorites (Finn and Rachel).
What this means for Gleeboot: Unlike Glee, Mr. Schuester will not be the prime focus but rather a supporting character as the teacher of the New Directions who tries to inspire the group and give everyone an equal shot to feel special. He also will be a teacher that the students lean on for support with issues that they are going through but he will also have his own personal life separated from the club, boundaries will be important.
Moving onto the next character showcase and the first of the original New Directions, Mr. Kurt Hummel.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Honestly I believe a certain writer who shall remain nameless sadly put his own predjustices and voices them through Kurt (the whole Kurt is biphobic story arc anyone?). Which is so unfortunate because Kurt was one of the most accepting characters of anyone who was different. I also believe that same writer would do so many out of character things to make him seem like he was in the wrong all the time which is so sad because so many people looked up to Kurt.
What went right: Kurt was one of the first mainstream gay character which helped and inspired so many closeted gay people to feel like there was someone like them on TV. He also was so proud himself that it was inspiring to watch week in and week out especially in the earlier seasons.
What this means for Gleeboot: Since Gleeboot will be taking place in 2024, so much in the world has changed towards the majority of people's attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community especially in schools where any sort of homophobic slander that Kurt faced would've resulted in displinary action. While unfortunately homophobia still exists especially in a small conservative town like Lima was shown to be a lot of Kurt's early arc won't change as much as far as bigoted students bullying him but the faculty at McKinley High would most likely be a lot more helpful than they were on the show. Kurt will also be one of the most accepting people in the club who will help so many others come into their own.
For our next character, I will not be showing the actor's face out of respect for all of his victims but the character is definitely a controversal one as Noah 'Puck' Puckerman
Tumblr media
What went wrong: A lot of Puck's earliest storylines are very wrong, especially in relation to what happened that night with him and Quinn. Unfortunately, the show played it off as just cheating but there are so many indications to it wasn't consentual which is problematic in itself. Also Puck going onto 'date' Kitty is also quite problematic because of the age gap between them.
What went right: Puck's redemption arc from beign a bully to ending up in the air force. I feel like his character is actually one of the few characters who benefitted from the later seasons rather than was hurt by those apperances, although his role was significantly reduced compared to the other characters we've discussed.
What this means for Gleeboot: A lot of Puck's behavior would need to change in order for him to be a rootable character but I believe it would change the essence of his character too much to do that, so Puck will remain a very contraversal character who will eventually learn and grow from his mistakes.
Our next character is our leading male of the group as far as Glee was concerned, Finn Hudson
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Instead of being the rootable leader of the Glee Club, Finn did many unforgivable things that to me seemed so out of character for him most importantly being the way he outed Santana in Season 3. Also encouraging Quinn to cheat on Sam in Season 2 made absolutely no sense and seemed more of a Puck thing to do than Finn. Him kissing Emma when she was freaking out in Season 4? Not okay.
What went right: Finn was the glue that held the New Directions together and there were so many occasions that it showed. He was a natural born leader who helped the New Directions when they were at their lowest.
What this means for Gleeboot: Finn was definitely an imperfect character, especially at the beginning of the show but as he emerses himself in the group he learns that image isn't everything and eventually finds his way to do what he loves even though it isn't what's cool, performing. There also will not be any physical cheating from his character.
Our next character is my personal favorite and one that I have done many deep dives into, Quinn Fabray
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Much like Kurt, Quinn seemed to be a punching bag for certain writers of the show who took out their frustrations on her leading to her doing many things that were out of character. Also like Sue, Quinn was frequently reverted back into a one-dimensional villian that stood in the way of what many fans saw as the love story of the show, Finn and Rachel.
What went right: Quinn had great character development particularly in Season 1 as well as during Season 3 where she was faced with the reality that popularity wasn't everything and eventually found her way, getting into her dream school Yale.
What this means for Gleeboot: Quinn is such a multi-dimensional character that goes through one of the most intense transformations which will be showcased throughout the series with her going from villian to rootable hero who we all want to see succeed and feel all the pain she goes through. Unlike the original show all character growth will stick.
Moving onto one of my least favorite characters from the entire show, Rachel Berry.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Instead of being the rootable ambitious girl that show wanted us to see, Rachel was incredibly selfish and did cruel things to innocent people (ex. sending Sunshine, who she just met to a crack house) or ruined her friendships by needing to be number 1 (ex. Running for senior class president despite knowing it would hurt Kurt). It got to the point where many didn't want her to have a happy ending, especially when she began to self-sabatoged her chances of her dream role in Funny Girl in Season 5.
What went right: In my opinion not much went right on the writer's behalf for Rachel who was supposed to be the main protaginist. Season 1 was the best showcase of Rachel being the underdog that so many were inspired to root for. She did at times grow like in Season 2 when she tried to help Sam win the duets competition but sadly the positives were shortlived since she was rarely ever put in her place when she was in the wrong.
What this means for Gleeboot: Rachel will maintain her competitive edge and ambition to become a Broadway star but with the self-awareness that she had throughout the first season where she looked out for the group besides just herself, but that doesn't mean if an opportunity comes up, she won't just jump on it.
We are heading back to the adults of Season 1 with our OCD guidance conselour, Emma Pillsbury.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Emma became religated to Will's wife and love interest and we lost all of what was special about her by the end of the series which is sad. Her and Finn kissing making her freak out and not want to get married was such a strange storyline that never quite sat right with me. Also her not having sex with Carl even after marrying him quite frankly made no sense. She was willing to lose her virginity to Will in Season 1 so what changed?
What went right: Emma was shown to be incredibly caring and compassionate for the students which most of the other teachers didn't seem to have other than maybe Will. Though she had her struggles with OCD she did try her best to overcome them eventually going to consuling herself which was an interesting story arc.
What this means for Gleeboot: Much like Will, Emma will play far less of a leading role in the show and will be a supporting character that many of the students will go to with their varying issues and she will do everything she can to offer them help and support.
Our next adult is someone we love to hate, Terri Schuester
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Terri being brought back in the Legen of Doom was probably one of the worst things that could've happened during the series. While her character was always shown to be off her rocker, Season 2 was laughably bad with the attempts the writers made to try to sell her as evil then redeem her in the end by having her get the New Directions tickets.
What went right: I feel like her arc in Season 1 was incredible showing how manipulative she was by trying to convince her then husband that she really was pregnant and finding an alternative way to get a child. While in the end they weren't right for each other, I think Season 1 had a more fitting end to their relationship.
What this means for Gleeboot: Much like the other adults mentioned before, Terri will play far less of a main role in the series and be relegated to a supporting role. I will still be showcasing how awful she can be towards her husband and how she would do anything to keep him but there will be far less of an emphasis on it.
Up next we are going back to the students with someone who I completely believed deserved better though I haven't touched as much on it as I would've liked to, Mercedes Jones.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Mercedes in truth was barely ever paid her due with how much she truly brought to the New Directions, frequently being relegated to a background singer who gave out the last jaw dropping note which truly was a complete shame because in my opinion she was quite possibly the strongest vocalist of the entire show (I'm always torn between her and Santana on that one). I also didn't love some of the writing of Mercedes, particually towards her treatment of Sam in the later seasons who had always done everything to show her how much he cared about her.
What went right: Mercedes was shown to be a strong woman who didn't take anyone's nonsense and was one of the few characters who dared to stand up to Rachel which I find commendable. She was a worthy advesary who pursued her dreams and ended up becoming a successful artist.
What this means for Gleeboot: Mercedes will have much more of a strong prescene throughout the series and will not be relegated to a glofied backup singer as she said "I'm Beyoncé, I ain't no Kelly Rowland" and that is exactly how she'll be treated.
Going into the New Directions, our next showcased student is Tina Cohen-Chang.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Tina was severly underdeveloped as a character which lead to many confusing choices as the show went on with her becoming quite the diva which made no sense to the shy character we were introduced to in the first season. Tina also became quite selfish and obsessed with popularity which once against left many scratching their heads wondering who truly is Tina Cohen-Chang?
What went right: I absolutely loved when the writers showed Tina to be supportive, especially of her boyfriends (ex. trying to help Artie learn to dance in Season 1, submitting applications to dance schools for Mike because it was his dream in Season 3). This was the true heart of who she was deep down. She also wasn't afraid to stand her ground on her beliefs (ex. When she felt she wasn't being treated right by Artie she stood up to him).
What this means for Gleeboot: First and foremost, Tina will not be faking a stutter in Season 1, to me it was one of the most unnessarcy storylines of the show. I know the character was originally supposed to have a stutter but I think eliminating the whole stutter part completly would work. Tina will be a very shy and reserved girl who struggles to find her voice as part of the New Directions but eventually finds her courage and becomes a strong woman.
Moving onto Tina's best friend, Artie Abrams.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: The writers truly lost the essence of who Artie was turning him into a misogynsitic jerk most of the time who degrated women, something he clearly wasn't when the show first started.
What went right: Artie was great respresentation for those who were physically disabled being that the character was in a wheelchair and was able to show so many people that their disablities don't have to limit their lives.
What this means for Gleeboot: Artie will return to form as the sweet but dorky guy that we grew to love in the first season. While he may be influenced by many of the other guys in the club, he won't turn as misogynistic towards his girlfriends/love interests.
Our final character who made her debut in the pilot is Santana Lopez
Tumblr media
What went wrong: I feel like a lot of Santana's insults went too far, especially ones where she body shamed many of the New Directions (ex. Finn, Mercedes, Quinn). Santana also manipulating Brittany who is supposed to be the love of her life without any consequences was questionable at best.
What went right: Santana was one of the first mainstream lesbian characters who helped so many people be seen and heard. Naya's portrayl of the character was perfection. The developement of Santana was one of the few characters who's arc felt complete and well written.
What this means for Gleeboot: Not a whole lot will change for Santana character wise other than her insults evolving to 2024 where she will still roast the hell out of everyone but keep weight out of it.
Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks? Up next is the third member of the Unholy Trinity, Brittany S. Pierce.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Like so many airheaded characters as the seasons went on Brittany became dumbed down which was unfortunate. Also making Brittany into a secret genius made absolutely no sense and making it canon that her biological father was Stephen Hawking also felt in really poor taste.
What went right: Brittany was a hilarious comic relief with her one liners in Season 1 and her relationship with Santana was one that inspired so many fans. What this means for Gleeboot: Brittany was a great respresentation for bisexuals everywhere who like many of the characters made them feel like they were being seen, unfortunately the show never fully embraced Brittany as a bisexual and that is something I would love to change in this story. There also will be no 'Brittany is secretly a genius and goes to MIT' storyline instead Brittany will be mainly focused on her dancing which is a huge part of who she is.
Now moving on to the forgotten football player and New Directions member, Matt Rutherford
Tumblr media
What went wrong: We literally learned nothing about Matt other than he was a football player, he was one of the strongest dancers, he was friends with Mike, and he might have had a thing with Santana at one point. Other than that he was a huge mystery which is sad considering he was an original member of the New Directions.
What went right: Honestly, not much for poor Matt which is why his actor left not wanting to be reglated to the background.
What this means for Gleeboot: Matt will absolutely be more developed in the series with him being more than just a body for the New Directions. I don't want to reveal too much about his character but he will have love interests as well as a backstory of why he leaves the New Directions after Season 1.
Finally, from the original cast here is the Asian Dancer himself, Mike Chang.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Much like Matt, we hardly got to know Mike outside of his relationship with Tina only getting very limited characterization in 'Asian F' which was in Season 3!
What went right: Mike's relationship with Tina was one of only two things that was fully realized, the other was his passion for dance which is clearly showcased in his defining episode in Season 3.
What this means for Gleeboot: Like Matt, Mike will be developed a lot more because his dynamic with his parents, particularly his father who didn't approve of him pursuing dance instead of law would be so intersting to pursue.
Moving onto the our main cast who joined the show after Season 1, starting off with one of the best teacher characters introduced, Coach Beiste!
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Okay, I really hope my intention is seen rather than what I'm about to write being misconstrued but I truly feel like the show undermined the character of Coach Beiste by making her the first transgender character which did not suit who we had grown to know Coach Beiste as. If the show had wanted a transgender storyline I fully believe they already had the character there that was right for it in Unique, who had already shown signs that she was a trans woman but with Alex Newell not being a member of the main cast, it seemed that role got assigned to Dot Marie Jones as Coach Beiste which to me didn't suit the character at all.
What went right: Coach Beiste was shown to be a caring and kind person who valued their students no matter what. They also generously bought Artie a ReWalk to help keep Brittany's faith about Santa being real which was adorable.
What this means for Gleeboot: Coach Beiste will remain a female coach in this series because to me she always identified herself as 'such a girl' and it felt strange for the show to do a 180 on that in its final season. While this may be contraversal, it's what I truly feel is in character for Coach Beiste. We will have a transgender character in Unique when she arrives.
And now we move on to my favorite male character, Sam Evans.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Sam went from being an absolute gentleman and a sweetheart to becoming a sex obsessed clone of Finn as the show went on. I also hated how they made him like every other guy encouraging Mercedes to cheat on her boyfriend Shane. Not to mention the ridiculous storyline of him being hyponotized to be with Rachel which was ridiculous.
What went right: Sam was patient and kind to a healing Quinn after the year she had. He also was one of the first guys to truly stand up for Kurt and be willing to duet with him which is something none of them would've done. Sam was also such a dedicated boyfriend to all of his girlfriends which made him endearing and adorable.
What this means for Gleeboot: Sam will maintain his sweet and caring nature towards the New Directions and will be one of the first popular kids to call out the town's homophobia towards Kurt. He also will be a loyal boyfriend to whoever he dates, never once cheating or encouraging cheating on anyone.
Our last and final character we will talk about is one that became so popular, he became a mainstay in Blaine Anderson.
Tumblr media
What went wrong: Blaine went from a very sure of himself posh character to becoming somewhat of whiny and clingy manchild who couldn't go without contact from his boyfriend which led him to cheating. It was so disappointing to see the downfall of a once great and promising character.
What went right: Blaine was Kurt's rock through a rough time in his life where he was being severely bullied for being gay by a closeted gay. He also helped Kurt adjust once he transferred to Dalton Academy and slowly feel in love with him.
What this means for Gleeboot: I'm going back to basics for Blaine where he will be much more like he was in Season 2, sure of who he is but kind of clueless with love but learns along the way with the help of Kurt.
And that's all for the character descriptions. I hope you enjoyed a small preview of what's to come as far as Gleeboot is concerned. If you have any questions or comments you can leave them down below but as always please be respectful.
Much love, Jazzie

Gleeboot
Hey everyone! So, I wanted to give you all a preview of an upcoming series I will be hard at work on and something I have been wanting to do for years now but was always so afraid to. If you all have interest in this series please let me know as well as suggestions. Hope you enjoy reading the little summary of 'Gleeboot'.
Tumblr media
Summary: The year was 2009 when a new TV show about a group of misfits in a Glee Club took the world by storm. The show was predicted to be a beloved classic that would inspire many generations to come. Unfortunately, as the show progressed it lost the spark that had made so many fall in love with it which is why the show ended after only 6 seasons seeming to have lost its heart and vision of what would inspire so many. But what if we could turn back the clock, start over again and make the show what it was always meant to be?
Here's where 'Gleeboot' begins as Glee for a brand new generation. So much in the world has changed since the original airing and the characters will be newly realized versions of what the original show had with continuity being a prime focus.
Most of my other stories have been focused from the original time frame of glee (2009-2015) however, gleeboot will start in 2024 and will feature music currently popular as well as music from the past that suits the scene and each character.
Join me in welcoming in a new era of 'glee' that can make the phenomenon one that will inspire all for years to come.

New Year, New Beginnings
Hello to all of my lovely readers/followers,
As you may have noticed I have taken a fairly long hiatus from Tumblr. I've decided to use this account as what Twitlonger used to be for me which is to post lenghty things that don't just fit on my account so, I will be posting here a lot more frequently come 2024 with lots of new and exciting content, especially regarding the Sims verse so if you're a fan, please stick around.
What can I say, 2023, for me was truly the year from hell. There were so many wonderful things that occured throughout the year (mainly the concerts and movies I got to attend especially the Eras Tour) but for the vast majority of the year I found myself enthralled in a deep depression like I had never had before.
The reason for said depression, sadly isn't a new one I've had in my life, people decided to say untrue things about me which blindsided me. Especially since it came from people who had barely spoken to and hadn't met before.
I was incredibly fortunate to have friends who stood by and defended me against these allegations saying it was something I would never do which I greatly appreciate that the vast majority of people I've met could speak to my character in a great way.
However, that incident and others since then in what is known as the ORG (Online Reality Games) community became a place of toxicity to me which has led to me going on an indefinate hiatus from being a part of any of those games ever again.
Unfortunately, what became apparent to me as time went on was in order to get away from it, I would have to let go of most social media platforms I was using which is where this post really comes into play.
For my new beginnings of 2024, I decided to focus a lot more on myself and the things I love rather than be a part of fandoms that I have felt were incredibly toxic. So, with that being said, this is kind of my goodbye post to the ORG community, at least for now.
To the friends I've made along the way,
I'm still willing to talk more through messaging via twitter or instagram but I will no longer be using Skype or Zoom. My reasons for this is just because I want to get away from the community, not from all of you. I just know many of you are embedded in the community and I don't want to be a downer who complains if you talk about it since you guys love it. For me, it's no longer a safe space or at this point a space I intend to be a part of in any way, so if you could please respect that.
Another new beginning I'm going to start in 2024, is to focus on making videos. I know I promised videos in the past and haven't delivered and I sincerely apologize for that but my life itself has been chaotic with a lot of medical and physical issues besides the mental and emotional ones.
I will be starting a few Sims series following an Eras Legacy Challenge (Something I am curently testing out before I officially post the rules because yeah I'm a perfectionist) as well as the long awaited Quinn Fabray series I promised you all.
I also will try to do an outfit haul of the many gorgeous pieces I own that were worn by Quinn Fabray. If you want me to recreate any scenes let me know, I may do them over TikTok or YouTube depending on the lenght.
I also will be focusing on my writing which is something that has brought me so much joy. I'm probably unfortunately going to abandon the projects I have been working on and will be completely starting a new.
Gleewrite and Twins Fabray will be making a comeback but in a very different way than I had started them. Sorry for the long rambly article you have to read but I felt I wanted to update everyone on what I'm hoping to focus on.
Here's to 2024 being a good year.

Taylor Swift Albums Reviews
Hello my lovely blog readers,
I want to thank those of you who stick around through all my crazy rants and long Glee posts. You guys are the real MVPs and I will always appreciate you.
Anyway onto why we're here, in the wake of Taylor rereleasing her albums I found it fitting to take a look back at her discorgaphy so far! Thanks to my good friend Aly, I decided to relisten to all of her albums which the order was randomly decided. I will be talking about the deluxe editions so enjoy!
Let's start off with the first album that was drawn first which was Red.
Tumblr media
One of my favorite albums right off the bat with probably her best album cover. I remember how excited I was for 22, mostly because my girl Dianna Agron's name was in the liner notes. Let's dive into what I thought now about 9 years later!
Favorite Track: Begin Again Least Favorite Track: The Last Time (featuring Gary Lightbody) Bonus Track I Wish was on the main album: All of them!!! Favorite Bonus Track: The Moment I Knew Album Ranking: 6th/9
Overall I adore this album so so much. The only track I didn't care for in the least was The Last Time. I think you'll find a trend with me that my least favorite Tayor tracks tend to be her duets (the exception being Everything Has Changed which is also on this album and is the purest of all). The album has held up and even moreso I love it than the first time I listened. Crazy. Anyway onto the rankings of each song. DISCLAIMER: These are just my opinions and you can disagree with them but please be respectful.
1) Begin Again 2) The Moment I Knew 3) State of Grace (Acoustic Version) 4) I Almost Do 5) Stay Stay Stay 6) All Too Well 7) Everything Has Changed (featuring Ed Sheeran) 8) 22 9) Come Back...Be Here 10) Red 11) I Knew You Were Trouble 12) The Lucky One 13) We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 14) Starlight 15) Girl at Home 16) Sad Beautiful Tragic 17) State of Grace 18) Holy Ground 19) Treacherous 20) The Last Time (featuring Gary Lightbody)
Honestly I adore this album so much as a whole and ranking every song was so hard. Holy Ground honestly had a lot of potiental I hated the arrangement but if I heard an acoustic version I would be sold, much like State of Grace which I wasn't huge on the original but the acoustic I'm obsessed with. Moving onto our second album which is one of Taylor's newest.
Tumblr media
folklore! Funny enough on first listen I wasn't as into it as everyone else was but trust me, the relisten definitely helped me change my mind. I also heard the lakes for the first time which I loved. Since it's the only bonus track I'm going to say I definitely wished it had made the main album over some of the other songs on it. Let's dive into my thoughts and rankings.
Favorite Track: mad woman Least Favorite Track: invisible string Album Ranking: 9th/9
1) mad woman 2) the 1 3) the last great american dynasty 4) mirrorball 5) hoax 6) peace 7) seven 8) august 9) my tears richocet 10) the lakes 11) cardigan 12) betty 13) illicit affairs 14) epiphany 15) this is me trying 16) exile (featuring Bon Iver) 17) invisible string
Okay I know cardigan and betty being so low is going make people unhappy but honestly I just loved the other songs better listed above it. So many gorgeous songs and a great era for Taylor. It's not my favorite era and still falls in my lower half of her albums but I can appreciate the tracks on it more than I did before with the relisten.
Now onto Taylor's most recent album which came up next in our randomization in evermore
Tumblr media
Unlike folklore on original listen I absolutely adored this album and had it in my top tier Taylor albums but will that opinion hold up? Let's find out.
Favorite Track: no body, no crime (featuring HAIM) Least Favorite Track: gold rush Favorite Bonus Track: it's time to go Album Ranking: 7th/9
1) no body, no crime (featuring HAIM) 2) happiness 3) champagne problems 4) willow 5) cowboy like me 6) dorothea 7) majorie 8) evermore (featuring Bon Iver) 9) closure 10) long story short 11) ‘tis the damn season 12) ivy 13) it’s time to go 14) coney island (featuring The National) 15) right where you left me 16) tolerate it 17) gold rush Okay let's talk about the relisten, it still held up but to me the one thing I didn't love about the album was the bonus tracks didn't add much to the original album so I kind of see why they were bonus tracks. I enjoyed the album none the less and I do think that most of my opinions are somewhat popular. I only see people being mad about 'tis the damn season being so low but honestly 1-11, I loved all the tracks so.
Up next is the rerelease that started it all, Fearless!
Tumblr media
Now let's see after 13 years (hey Taylor's lucky number) if my opinion of this iconic album changed. Back in the day I was so obsessed with this album so let's see how I feel now!
Favorite Track: You're Not Sorry Least Favorite Track: The Way I Loved You Bonus Tracks I Wish was on the main album: Forever and Always (Piano Verison) and Come in with the Rain Favorite Bonus Track: Forever and Always (Piano Version) Album Ranking: 4th/9
1) You’re Not Sorry 2) White Horse 3) Love Story 4) You Belong with Me 5) Change 6) Forever and Always (Piano Version) 7) Fifteen 8) Hey Stephen 9) Come in with the Rain 10) Jump Then Fall 11) Fearless 12) Forever and Always 13) The Best Day 14) The Other Side of the Door 15) Breathe (featuring Colbie Cailaitt) 16) Untouchable 17) SuperStar 18) Tell Me Why 19) The Way I Loved You
I still remember when this album was first coming out how jazzed and excited I was for it. It was highly anticipated for me being that I had fallen in love with Taylor from her debut album and listening back it still holds up as one of my favorite albums. The only two tracks I wasn't into back then and still am not into are Tell Me Why and The Way I Loved You. Other than those two tracks the entire album is incredible to listen to. I'm so excited to hear Taylor's versions of all these songs and who knows maybe my mind will change on some of them.
Moving onto the next album to be randomly selected which is almost every Swiftie's favorite 1989.
Tumblr media
Funny enough, originally this album isn't in my top favorites so who knows if my opinion will change on a relisten. Let's find out!
Favorite Track: Clean Least Favorite Track: I Wish You Would Bonus Tracks I Wish was on the main album: All of them?! Come on Taylor what's up with 1989 and Red having like some of their best tracks as bonus tracks. I'm mad haha. Favorite Bonus Track: Wonderland (gee I wonder why) Album Ranking: 5th/9
1) Clean 2) Wonderland 3) Wildest Dreams 4) This Love 5) You are in Love 6) Welcome to New York 7) Shake It Off 8) Blank Space 9) Bad Blood 10) Style 11) How You Get the Girl 12) Out of the Woods 13) New Romantics 14) I Know Places 15) All You Had to Do was Stay 16) I Wish You Would
Okay listening back. I now get the hype behind it. Listening to it with bonus tracks honestly makes all the difference. No joke. It's a much better album with the bonus tracks added. Honestly if Wonderland and You are in Love were on the main album it would've been top tier to me. Thank God for the deluxe version but team Taylor what is up with you hiding some of her best tracks and only releasing them on the bonus tracks? I'm mad. Also speaking on Wonderland, I adore the song even without the rumours of it being about my favorite celebrity Dianna Agron. Had the bonus tracks been on the main album it would higher but as a whole I love the album.
And now for our next album, which is reputation!
Tumblr media
This is probably Taylor's most controversial albums, some love it and some hate it. I actually am somewhere in the middle. I love some of the tracks while others I could've done without. Let's see where it goes for me listening back.
Favorite Song: New Year's Day Least Favorite: Dancing with Our Hands Tied Album Ranking: 8th/9
1) New Year's Day 2) Gorgeous 3) Don’t Blame Me 4) This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things 5) I Did Something Bad 6) Dress 7) Delicate 8) Call It What You Want To 9) ...Ready for It? 10) Look What You Made Me Do 11) King of my Heart 12) Getaway Car 13) So It Goes... 14) End Game (featuring Ed Sheeran and Future) 15) Dancing with Our Hands Tied
Okay I feel like my choices here are controversal especially Getaway Car being pretty low on the album. Honestly I liked the song just wasn't into the hype that everyone else said about it, sorry you guys. Also Dancing with Our Hands Tied on the ALBUM is my least favorie song. I absolutely adored Taylor's acoustic version that was in the rep Tour. Had she released that on the album it would be after Look What You Made Me Do. The arrangement on the album I just didn't care for and I prefer acoustic Taylor which I think a lot of you gather from my top picks.
Anyway moving onto to our next album that was randomized which is...Taylor Swift!
Tumblr media
Ah yes the album that started it all. 15 years ago I discovered Taylor Swift via this album thanks to CMT. I was a huge country music stan back in the day who knew how this one album would lead to a career I've been following for 15 years. Now how does this album hold up? Let's find out!
Favorite Song: Should've Said No Least Favorite Song: A Perfectly Good Heart Bonus Tracks I Wish was on the main album: Invisible and I'm Only Me When I'm with You Favorite Bonus Track: Invisible Album Ranking: 3rd/9
1) Should’ve Said No 2) Invisible 3) Cold as You 4) Picture to Burn 5) Our Song 6) The Outside 7) A Place in This World 8) Teardrops on My Guitar 9) Stay Beautiful 10) Tim McGraw 11) I’m Only Me When I’m with You 12) Mary’s Song (Oh My My My) 13) Tied Together with a Smile 14) A Perfectly Good Heart
This album still holds up 15 years later and made me so nostalgic. This had to be the hardest album for songs to rank thus far. Taylor hit it out of the park on her very first album crazy. She set the bar very high, funny enough it's the first album that a bonus track is my least favorite track but the entire album is a great listen, especially if you love country. It's very different from anything else Taylor did but that's what's so charming about it.
And now onto our second to last album which is another one of my favorites and the only album Taylor wrote fully on her own, Speak Now.
Tumblr media
The album cover is up there with Red as my favorite and I'm excited to listen back to this album. I remember how much I enjoyed it when it was first released. Excited to see what I think 11 years later. Let's find out.
Favorite Track: Haunted (Acoustic Version) Least Favorite Track: Last Kiss Bonus Tracks I Wish was on the main album: All of them. Dang it Taylor they deserved to be on the main album. Favorite Bonus Track: Haunted (Acoustic Version) Album Ranking: 2nd/9
1) Haunted (Acoustic Version) 2) Long Live 3) Haunted 4) Better Than Revenge 5) Back to December (Acoustic Version) 6) Mine 7) Back to December 8) Mean 9) If This Was a Movie 10) Innocent 11) Dear John 12) Speak Now 13) Ours 14) Never Grow Up 15) The Story of Us 16) Superman 17) Enchanted 18) Sparks Fly 19) Last Kiss
One of Taylor's absolute best albms and it was incredibly hard to rank these songs. I know people are going to be mad about Enchanted being low but I just didn't love it as much as the other tracks on the album, this after all is one of the best albums she ever released so it's incredibly hard to make the call.
Moving onto our final album which I've called my absolute favorite, Lover.
Tumblr media
It's only been an year since its release but will it hold up as my favorite album? Let's find out!
Favorite Track: Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince Least Favorite Track: It’s Nice to Have a Friend Album Ranking: 1st/9
1) Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince 2) Paper Rings 3) Lover 4) Soon You’ll Get Better (featuring The Chicks) 5) You Need to Calm Down 6) The Archer 7) The Man 8) Daylight 9) Afterglow 10) I Think He Knows 11) False God 12) Death by a Thousand Cuts 13) Cruel Summer 14) Cornelia Street 15) I Forgot That You Existed 16) ME! (featuring Brendan Urie from Panic! at the Disco) 17) London Boy 18) It’s Nice to Have a Friend
Yep it held up. This album is my favorite thing Taylor ever released. It was a tough call because I loved all of her top albums so much. Miss Americana still is my favorite performance which is no surprise, I was obsessed when this song came out 2 years ago. It's Nice to Have a Friend is the weakest track on the album but by no means is it a bad track. The entire album is a great listen all the way through, the only song that's hard to listen to especially if you have a sick parent "Soon You'll Get Better" I literally bawled after I finished it. So if you don't want an emotional song that might make you sad, it's best to skip it even though it's one of favorite tracks.
And that does it for us here. Hope you enjoyed my album reviews! Just to recap here's the rankings of all of Taylor's Albums:
1) Lover 2) Speak Now 3) Taylor Swift 4) Fearless 5) 1989 6) Red 7) evermore 8) reputation 9) folklore
Excited to see what's to come with the rerelease of Fearless and to hear the songs released from the vault. I've heard a few of her unreleased songs and honestly there are quite a few that I'm hoping are released. Thanks for enjoying us on this journey as always be kind and always spread love <3

My Glee Life
Hello wonderful followers,  It’s been awhile since I posted something more lighthearted on my Tumblr and I figured this would definitely be the time to do so. This whole post is inspired by a thread my good friend Sarina made that I somewhat edited and my other good friend Esme actually talked about their Glee life so this is what I kind of envisioned for myself had I been a part of Glee.
I would start out as a sophomore (wanting to graduate with the OG Glee Cast) who is mostly a loner but with dreams of making it big in the music world. Much like Kurt, I would be bullied at the beginning for dreaming big and wanting to make something of myself and I believe my main tormenters would be the Cheerios and Jocks with Santana and Puck leading the charge against me.
When I find out there’s a Glee Club starting off I’m actually excited. Finally, a chance to showcase my talents as a singer and I quickly would sign up, unlike most of the others who were afraid, I would actually be excited and confidently sign up, which would probably lead to me getting slushied but oh well.
My audition song as said in my post would be Christina Aguleria’s ‘Reflection’. It’s a song that I relate to so much in that I wish people could see me for who I really am instead of just some loser that they make fun of. For me, it’s the perfect song to define myself and really is my signature song.
Once in Glee Club, I definitely forsee Rachel hating my guts just because I want leads as much as she does and would kind of view me as competition much like how she was towards Sunshine. Being the person I am and not confident in the slightest I probably wouldn’t fight back with her but would definitely get fed up with her behavior early on.
In the early days of Glee I think Kurt, Mercedes, Tina, and Artie would be my closest friends being that we’re original members and I would fear Rachel. I think I would have a friendly relationship with Finn but wouldn’t be around him as much due to both Rachel and Quinn kind of competing for his attention and fighting constantly over him. Once Brittany joins I actually think I would get along with her as well but much like my fear of Rachel, I would fear Santana about getting too close with Britt. When the football players join I definitely see myself bonding with Matt and Mike since they’re two of the nicer football players, meanwhile I would also avoid Puck at all costs just because of his reputation and the bad vibes he gives me.
As Quinn’s pregnancy is revealed, I would try to be a friend she could lean on, especially when she loses everything, something I think she’d be grateful for and sorely needed in Glee. I could see her confiding in me the truth about Puck being the father and how scared she is for word to get out which I will promise her will stay between us.
Unfortunately, our rival Rachel reveals all to Finn which in turn hurts Quinn. I could see myself much like Mercedes offering to let Quinn stay with my family and us being close because of it. And that’s my Season 1 story arc.
Moving onto Season 2, where I would be a junior, I would have a bit more confidence in myself and be somewhat less of a loser due to my friendship with head cheerleader Quinn. I know I’d be crushing hardcore on Sam but be totally shy about it (I have no confidence in myself and wouldn’t think he’d be into me). I’ll be a supportive friend through Quinn and Sam’s relationship, happy Quinn has someone who treats her well, something she deserves. I also will be really bummed when Kurt feels he has to transfer due to the Karofsky harrassment. I feel like Kurt, Quinn, and Mercedes would be my core friendships and losing Kurt would hurt since we both kind of went through bullying together. I feel like Rachel would continue to be incredibly jealous that people like me and I thankfully would have friends to defend me like Quinn and Mercedes.
Once Sam and Quinn breakup due to Quinn being well...not herself, I probably would try to be there for both of them, especially Sam. I see Santana being slightly annoyed that I’m hanging around Sam and reigniting her feud with me wanting me to stay away from her beard. Once Santana breaks things off with Sam however, I feel we’d be hanging out together a lot and I would try to help out with his family as much as possible. I enjoy kids so helping him babysit would be fun and much like Quinn I’d probably do girly things with Stacey. I could see it possibly blossoming into something more since I’ve been there for Sam and we would end up going to Prom together. At the end of S2 we would be the secretly dating couple.
Now moving onto Season 3, Senior Year! I know I’d be bummed with Sam moving over the summer and probably would have lost touch with Quinn due to her punk phase. I most likely would be hanging out with Kurt, Blaine, Mercedes, Tina, and Mike over the summer and applying to colleges (something I didn’t do in real life because of fear of rejection but fictional me will have more confidence). My dream school has always been Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and I forsee a lot of my storyline revolving around me trying to get into that school to pursue my dreams of being a recording artist. When Quinn returns to the school I would try to talk to her and find out what’s going on trying to be a friend for her to lean on. When she goes a little crazy I will also try to talk her out of it knowing it’s ruining her life. However, the one thing I wouldn’t discourage her from is telling about Shelby sleeping with Puck. That was so disguisting and was something she absouletly should have reported. Shelby’s the one who made the bad decision that could cost her Beth. I always hated how the show portrayed Quinn to be the bad one in that situation when she was doing what was absouletly right.
When Sam moves back to McKinley High I would be elated and if he wanted to start up our relationship again, I’d be all for it. I would’ve truly missed his presence in my life and having him back would’ve brightened me up. I believe we would talk about the whole long distance relationship with me going off to college and him finishing his senior year in high school. Nashville’s only about 6 hours from Lima so I probably would try to come in on weekends and visit. It would be different but I’d assure him we’d make it work. I also would try to help Quinn through her accident and truly be a friend to her, encouraging her along the way to get on her feet.
Once I graduate at the end of Season 3, I will be on my way to Belmont University for Season 4. Much like many of the others I would come back occasionally and probably spend a lot of time with Sam whenever I’m in town trying to keep our relationship alive and well. Same goes for Season 5. I would come back for Prom to be Sam’s date, attend his graduation, and of course be back for the end of Glee Club.
The time jump in the second half of Season 5 would probably when things would get dicey for me. Sam would be out in New York with the others while I’d be in Nashville but I could see me having a dilemma and ultimately deciding to move back to New York to be with Sam and try my hand at getting a record deal which would hopefully be successful.
Season 6 with Sam back in Lima, I probably would go back to Nashville and finish up my degree or be pursuing a recording contract. I would definitely come back to Lima a lot for Sam much like I had done before and might end up settling down there as my home not wanting to be away from him.
In the 2020 time jump, I would be a successful recording artist and may be opening for artists I love like Demi Lovato or Christina Aguleria. Sam and I would end up together and settle down and have a family.
And that is what I would envision my Glee life to be. I hope you enjoyed this little journey. It was fun to write out an imaginary life for myself.

Hello to all my lovely blog readers,
For those of you who have been here or may have newly stumbled upon this blog, welcome. I know it’s been a long time once again since I’ve posted but I’ve been going through a lot in my personal life which I’m not currently going to get into. However, there has been an ongoing pattern in life that has truly concerned me and quite frankly I feel like I need to express how I feel about it because it’s something that’s plagued me for most of my life.
Most of my blog posts are more lighthearted and about the TV show Glee and my opinions on it, as well as stories I’ve written and even song lyrics. However, today’s post is about something far more serious that has been getting under my skin, not only about myself but about others.
People think that when they’re a fan of you or are even close to you that they have a definition of who you are. People are constantly making assumptions about one another which are sometimes right on but most of the time it’s way off or is their vision of who they want you to be.
I’ve personally gone through this my entire life with a rumour that was spread around about me when I entered middle school about my sexuality. It stemmed from a completely misheard conversation by me due to my ADHD and soon had me labeled as something I wasn’t. It cost me friends, self esteem (due to people constantly avoiding me or laughing at me), and of course me questioning whether or not the assumptions people made about me were acually acurrate.
It took me such a long time to finally find a way to stand on my own two feet and say this is who I am and it’s something I’ve seen done to others, especially celebrities.
I want to state that I’m a major ally for the LGBTQ+ community and support people loving who they love no matter who it is. However, after the years of torment of trying to find myself and realize what my own sexuality was, I feel like it’s horrible to try to insist someone is this or that when they may not even know themselves and may be struggling to find their own idenity.
This is just a reminder to be kind to everyone and maybe not just assume you know what’s going on in their lives or how they feel about other people. I know it would’ve made my life a whole lot easier rather than feeling like I didn’t know myself for so long.
Thank you for listening to my ramble here as I try to piece my thoughts together on an issue I feel isn’t talked about enough. No one else can define who you are. You need to define yourselves.
Be kind and stay safe, Jazzie

Character Dissection [Rachel Berry]: Episode by Episode - Season 3B
Hello and welcome the finale of my Rachel Berry Character Dissection. Wow it’s been a long time coming and I seriously have enjoyed going over the first three seasons. I know there are more seasons to go over but I wasn’t as invested in the later seasons so I don’t really remember everything. I’m excited to end this series and start again with another character. If you guys have any input of who it should be please let me know. I probably won’t do Quinn since I’ve already made a lot of post dissecting her actions but if there’s another subject you’d like me to cover about her, I’m open to it. Anyway, we will be dissecting Rachel in the second half of Season 3 which is from Yes/No to Goodbye. Once again these are my opinions. I’m not the biggest Rachel fan so reader be warned if you are.
Let’s start off with the midseason premiere of Yes/No. In this episode the Glee Club is looking for the perfect song for Will to propose to Emma with. Rachel is seen thinking about Finn when the girls perform their number of ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’. She also is unhappy during the episode because the finalists for NYADA have already been called back and she and Kurt have yet to have heard anything. She, Kurt, and Finn are comserating when Finn feels like he has nothing good going on in his life after finding out what really happened to his father. This is when Rachel sings ‘Without You’ to Finn reminding him of how much they love each other. The end of the episode is left off at cliffhanger of Finn proposing to Rachel, something no one expected, which is a storyline that pretty much drives this half of the season.
In the next episode of Michael, Finn’s upset because Rachel hasn’t given him an answer and she tells him she’s still thinking about it, especially since she hasn’t heard back from NYADA. She then confides in Quinn who tries to discourage her from getting engaged. Quinn believes it’s the wrong choice for Rachel who’s career is only just beginning and also believes Finn and Rachel are too young to make the commitment. I know many people speculate Quinn does this because she’s still in love with Rachel but honestly, I don’t think so. Quinn’s reasons are fairly rational and are something a FRIEND would advise another FRIEND on. Anyway after Quinn performs a puzzling song choice when she’s telling Rachel to let go and sings ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ which is mostly about not wanting to let someone go. Her speech is amazing and she directs it towards Rachel once again telling her to let go and start her future. Kurt soon gets his NYADA letter and Rachel breaks down since not receiving hers feeling like she has no idea what her future holds. After performing with Finn she accepts his proposal, thinking Finn is her only future but everything changes when she gets her NYADA letter and quickly regrets her decision.
Up next is The Spanish Teacher which is quite possibly the worst episode of Season 3. Once again this episode doesn’t focus much on the students which is why it’s my least favorite. Rachel’s major storyline is how she reveals to Kurt and Mercedes the fact that she and Finn are engaged, something both of them are very against but Rachel is insistent that this is the right call.
Moving on to Heart which is the Valentine’s Day episode. Love is in the air as Rachel and Finn reveal their engagement to the Glee Club which is not met with as much love as they would’ve hoped. Quinn and Kurt both are against the wedding think they’re too young with Kurt being the one to tell their parents. Rachel’s dad has previously met them at the school to pretend to give them their blessing. Finn gives Rachel a singing telegram from the God Squad which Santana uses to voice her support that ANYONE should be able to be happy in their relationship and asks the God Squad to sing a song to Brittany. Meanwhile Rachel and Finn have dinner with both of their parents which seems to be going well until Finn is to stay overnight. Things start off okay but Finn wants to use Rachel’s bathroom which she’s disguisted by and the two have a huge fight with Rachel not really caring about Finn’s future. They soon make up and head to the party at Breadstix but decide to move up their wedding so they could get used to one another.
Up next is probably one of my least favorite episodes of Season 3, even though it’s written well, On My Way. It’s my least favorite for obvious reasons but let’s just talk about it regarding Rachel. The episode starts with Rachel being threatened by Sebastian not to perform at Regionals saying if she does he’d release a photoshopped racy photo of Finn. Rachel, not wanting to let threats get in the way of their performances at Regionals, refuses to sit out again. This leads Finn to get pissed off at her. But soon all is forgiven when Karofsky attempts to commit suicide. It leads Finn and Rachel to have a real talk about how neither of them would ever do that. It also gives them the message that life is too short and they decide to move up their wedding to after Regionals. Quinn, who was resistant to coming at first later asks Rachel if she can come if it’s not too late. Rachel tells her it’s not and the two hug. As it’s time for the wedding Rachel wants to delay it until Quinn gets there wanting the New Directions family to be complete. Sadly, Quinn wouldn’t get there in time but instead got into a horrible accident, hence why I don’t like this episode.
Another thing I want to speak on is how many shippers take the Quinn and Rachel scene from this episode as well as the deleted Bridesmaids shop scene as a sign that Quinn was in love with Rachel. Honestly, I can see where they get it from especially the way Quinn looks as she hugs Rachel but from what I could tell that was not the way it was intended to be. I feel like the writers unfortunately were trying to queerbait Faberry and ride them out for as long as possible to keep the fans hopes up. I think it’s not right to do that to crack shippers (crack shippers isn’t a bad term so don’t come for me. It’s a term meaning a non canon ship that people want together) and I sincerely dislike the show for doing that.
Moving onto Big Brother, Rachel in this episode is constantly feeling guilty about Quinn’s accident, blaming herself that it happened. The one thing that kind of annoyed me about this is how Rachel made it constantly about herself rather then obeying Quinn’s wishes for them not to make a big deal about the accident. Anyway besides that she like everyone else seemed to fawn over Blaine’s brother being in town and was taking his advice seriously since he made it (somewhat) as an actor. The other major storyline about Rachel is that Finn gets fed up with her about only talking about her future and not caring about his which leaves them in a bad spot in their relationship.
Up next is Saturday Night Glee-ver. Rachel doesn’t have too big of a storyline in this episode other than making up with Finn. They get conseuled by Emma which works and leads Finn to agree to go to New York leaving Rachel incredibly happy that she got her way.
Moving on to Dance With Somebody. Rachel’s biggest storyline in this episode is when she finds out Kurt was texting another guy and she got very upset about it saying it was like cheating on Blaine. Rachel later performs with Santana, something no one saw coming and the girls talk to Quinn after noticing how she and Joe were together after performing their duet. Quinn thinks she doesn’t have much of a chance due to her current situation of being in a wheelchair. Rachel soon goes to talk to Santana and tells her that they did well on the duet together and how much she wishes they wouldn’t have been enemies for so long and wants to make the last 42 days together count. She soon gives Santana a photo of her to put in her locker which Santana does.
Up next is Choke, which is one of Rachel’s most promient episodes since the title comes from what happens at her NYADA audition. Rachel has been preparing incredibly hard all week for the audition and wanted to ace her performance. However, she becomes concerned when Kurt decides to change his song last minute and offers to be his Christine onstage. Kurt however, goes against Rachel’s advice and gives his best performance to date. When it’s Rachel’s turn to audition, however, things go ary. She performs her go to song ‘Don’t Rain on my Parade’ and flubs on the lyrics. When she asks for a second chance Miss Tibedeaux, the NYADA faculty member seeing the auditions lets her but when Rachel flubs again and tries to start over, she won’t let her. Rachel tears up onstage begging for another chance knowing that she truly blew her audition. Rachel is still upset and tramatized a few days later knowing her chances of getting in based on her limited performance are slim. She felt like she lost everything and performs a ballad expressing her feelings, clearly emotional.
Moving on to Prom-asaurus, yet another episode that fully frustrates me and it’s thanks to Rachel that it’s like this. I do feel sorry for her with what happened at NYADA but she acts like a spoiled brat who didn’t get her way in this episode. She gets irrationally mad at Finn for running for Prom Court with Quinn claiming he will ruin her senior prom by doing so, saying it would be just like when high school began for her. This is what leads Rachel to do one of my least favorite storylines, the anti-prom. Santana rightfully calls her out on what the anti-prom is really about. It’s Rachel throwing herself a pity party because one thing didn’t go the way she wanted it to. The anti-prom storyline is anti-climatic with Rachel walking out in her prom dress as Finn gets there and they end up going to the actual prom anyway. Rachel does end up apologizing to Quinn for being irriationally angry at her and said that becoming Quinn’s friend meant a lot to her and that she voted for her for prom queen. When Santana goes to get Quinn to count the votes she makes a comment for the Faberry shippers telling Quinn to stop making out with Rachel because they needed to crown her prom Queen.
Now for the second part I truly hate about this episode. Santana and Quinn just giving Rachel Prom Queen. It was Quinn’s idea to give it to her but my main problem is that Quinn has wanted that so badly for so long and quite frankly, she had a lot worse of a year than Rachel. But would the writers ever give Quinn the happy ending she deserved? Nope. Everything had to be handed to Rachel. Also the lines the writers made Quinn say about how she and Santana had “the ideal high school careers” literally in what way did Quinn have the ideal high school career? She got pregnant from rape, her family disowned her until her mom came around, she lost 2 boyfriends she cared about due to her mistakes, and not to mention she was currently still recovering from the accident only from a few episodes ago. It always made me blood boil when they would give lines like that to Quinn, especially since she went through quite possibly the most stuff out of all of the characters (I can also make an argument for Kurt). So seriously? Taking something away from her that this character deserved for a happy ending pissed me off. This is in no way Rachel’s fault but I have my suspisicions that Lea may have had an influence on this and honestly I hate nothing good ever happening for anyone other than Rachel.
Anyway, moving onto Props. This episode Rachel is once again being a selfish bitch appreacating nothing from ‘winning’ Prom Queen. She acts like Tina’s meltdown over being underappreaciated is unjust and that she works so hard for everything she does. While Rachel does work hard all she does is minimize how Tina feels. Tina soon has a fantasy and again the writers annoy me by trying to make it seem like Tina was wrong and Rachel deserves everything. Tina then goes to help Rachel convince Carmen to see them at Nationals. The episode ends with Tina and Rachel singing a duet together and getting onboard the bus to head to Nationals.
Up next was Nationals. In this episode Rachel runs into Jesse who is the coach of Vocal Adrenaline. Jesse tries to taunt her about looking for Carmen but Rachel knows Jesse himself is feeling insecure about Vocal Adrenaline’s fate which he admits to. As Rachel performs her solo Carmen gets there which gives Rachel the confidence to perform well. Jesse later talks to Carmen himself saying that Rachel would be a great addition to NYADA thus showing he still cares and is part of why I still love him and Rachel together. The New Directions win at Nationals and everything ends perfectly for them. The New Directions also honor Will at the Teacher of the Year event with Finn and Rachel speaking on his behalf.
Finally, we end with Goodbye. In this episode, the Senior New Directions prepare to say goodbye to high school. Rachel looks back on her time at McKinley thoughtfully and is actually looking forward to marrying Finn. She also finds out that she’s the only one accepted to her school, another thing that pissed me off, why the hell didn’t the writers let Kurt get in after his killer audition? They let him get in mid season 4 since they needed him in New York but come on! Anyway she decides to deffer her acceptance a year and stay behind with Finn. Finn, however has other plans and pretends to be driving Rachel to the church to get married when in reality he’s sending her to New York to fill her dreams, breaking up with her. He didn’t want to hold her back. Rachel relucktantly goes on the train to New York, wondering what her future will hold.
Let’s talk overview. Rachel in this half honestly was horrible. Was it the worst she’s ever been? No. But honestly she’s still way too selfish. She originally only accepted Finn’s proposal thinking she had no future and started to regret it once she did. What kind of person does that? Also she constantly put down how others were feeling if it got in her way like what she did with Tina and even not caring about Finn’s future. Honestly, I know Finn and Rachel were a popular ship but I think this half proved that they weren’t right for each other. I felt like they were the most toxic they’ve ever been in this half of the season and it was a relief when they broke up in the finale. Honestly the later seasons I liked Rachel so much more. She grew up a lot when she left Lima and also had people and events that put her in her place. I don’t hate her character but there are so many things about her that rub me the wrong way especially in the last two seasons I discussed. I hope you enjoyed this character analysis. Let me know if there’s someone else you would want me to discuss or other topics for me to cover.  Be Kind, Jazzie

Character Dissection [Rachel Berry]: Episode by Episode - Season 3A
Hello and welcome back to the final 2 part of my Rachel Berry character dissection in my series. I hope you all have been enjoying my thoughts so far. I know they can be contraversal at times, especially if you are a Rachel stan but these are truly my OPINIONS of Rachel as a character. Today we will be covering Rachel in the first half of Season 3 which is from The Purple Piano Project to Extraordinary Merry Christmas. Once again, if you are a Rachel fan, these posts might not be for you, so reader be warned.
Let’s begin with the Season 3 premiere of The Purple Piano Project. Since we last saw the club they lost Lauren Zizes and Quinn who quit and Sam who had moved away after his sophomore year. The club is already in bad shape especially since Finn and Rachel’s kiss at Nationals has made them a joke. Rachel, however doesn’t let this discourage her from making her senior year unforgettable. She and Kurt have decided to apply to Julliard, hoping to make their New York dreams come true. Unfortunately, they find out Julliard doesn’t have a musical theatre program but instead find NYADA which specializes in the dramatic arts, something both of them are excited about. However, when they go to an open call they see many potiental students who are just like them which intimidates both of them. They cry about it after but soon decide that they are going to make it work, no matter what it takes. Rachel also makes it her mission to try to get Quinn back into the Glee Club. Many view this as Rachel caring about Quinn but I see it for what it really is. The Glee Club doesn’t have enough members to compete without Quinn. They are only at 11 members after Blaine transfers to McKinley and Rachel needs enough members so she can have a great resume to get into NYADA. She doesn’t care that Quinn is clearly going through something, she just is determined to have the Glee Club work so it can help her on her way to New York. Once Quinn rejoins in the next episode, Rachel barely even acknowledges her so come on it’s not rocket science to see that she only wanted Quinn back so she could win Nationals in her senior year. Anyway after club’s disatrious performance of ‘We Got the Beat’ when they try to recruit new members, they attract the tone-deaf Sugar Motta. Rachel is horrified by her lack of a voice and insists that Will cuts her, not wanting Sugar’s voice to ruin her chances of success. While Sugar is awful, this poor choice leads to the Troubletones which is the major story arc of the season. After this the club still has no new members and Rachel decides to encourage the club with a song from Hairspray which seems to rally the club and the episode ends.
Up next is I Am Unicorn. Rachel’s major storylines are her reaction to Shelby returning and how much she wants the lead in the school musical. At the beginning of the episode Will annouces that he won’t have time to direct the musical which Rachel start throwing a temper tantrum about but he soon reveals that Emma and Coach Beiste will be running it with a student director. Rachel of course thinks he means her but declares it to be too soon but Will actually meant Artie who dreams of being a film director. Artie accepts and the musical is back on. Rachel is rehearsing all the songs from the musical when Shelby approaches her, something Rachel is worried about. She tells Shelby that she’s not interested in joining her group to which Shelby replies that it’s not why she was there. She helps Rachel pick out her audition song of ‘Somewhere’ which Rachel nails. Later in the episode she tries to talk Finn into auditioning for West Side Story which he declines saying he doesn’t think he’s good enough. Rachel tries to encourage him but Finn says he doesn’t see music in his future and that he’d be okay with working here which Rachel accepts and they kiss.
Moving onto Asian F where Rachel’s biggest storyline is her battle against Mercedes for the lead of Maria. But before that she is voicing her support for Kurt in his run for Senior Class President only to turn around and run against him which is a very selfish and Rachel thing to do. It will always bother me that she did this when she can see how much this election means to Kurt also she just quit close to the election so why was this storyline even a thing? Anyway she and Mercedes battle it out for Maria and Emma, Coach Beiste, and Artie agree that they should split the role evenly. Mercedes is upset by this knowing they’re only doing this to placate Rachel who would throw a tantrum if she lost since Mercedes was clearly better in the Diva Off. Mercedes quits the play after not getting the lead, leaving Rachel with the lead which is what she wanted.
Up next is Pot o’Gold which is the rare episode that Rachel doesn’t have as much of a storyline as the others. She is more of a background character excited with their performance of ‘Last Friday Night’ declaring it to be a good choice for sectionals. She also is upset about the funding for West Side Story being cut and dramatically exclaims that she was going to change her name to Maria, once again being a selfish brat when she doesn’t get her way, proving Mercedes’ point that had she not gotten the lead she would’ve acted like this. She also finds Rory’s performance when he joins the Glee Club magical.
Moving on to First Time which centers around Rachel and Blaine wanting to lose their virginities after Artie declares that they can’t play the part right without having sex which is one of the worst storylines the show has. Leading up to it Rachel is actually supposed to be over at Finn’s while his parents are out of town and was already seeming to debate having sex with him. Unfortunately, with her determination to make her portrayl perfect, she feels the pressure to have sex with him before the play. She originally tries to have sex with him before the play but Finn declines at first wanting it to be more special saying he was saving up for a hotel. Rachel shrieks that she can’t wait because of the play which leaves Finn hurt that she was using him like that. She then has a meeting with the girls to ask about what she should do with the majority telling her not to lose her virginity but Tina tells her the story of how she lost her virginty to Mike, saying it was perfect because she knew she was with the right person which helps Rachel make her decision. She is upset that she didn’t fulfil what she wanted to before the play but realized her relationship with Finn was more important. She goes by his house to find a distraught Finn. He has just been rejected by the OSU football coach and feels like his life is over. Rachel lets him know it’s not and starts to kiss him which Finn tells her he’s not worth it. Rachel said tells him he is and that this is what she wanted. The two soon have sex which was kind of bad timing and almost seemed like pity sex but they seem happy about it.
Up next is Mash Off which is the episode where the Glee Clubs face off against each other. Santana’s rivalry with Finn heats up as the clubs have a dodgeball meet. Rachel tries to talk to Kurt who is ignoring her, mad at her for running against him as he should be. Rachel soon goes to ask Shelby to sign the letter of recommendation that she had written. Shelby tells Rachel that she’s proud of her and feels sorry for the kids who don’t have as much on their resumes leading Rachel to finally realize what she was doing to poor Kurt. She then asks Shelby to write her own letter of recommendation and Shelby agrees. The next day is the debate and when it’s Rachel’s turn to speak, she drops out of the race and voices her support for Kurt, shocking everyone. She later apologizes to Kurt saying she should’ve dropped out once she got the lead the musical which Kurt accepts. They soon watch the Troubletones performance when Santana notices Finn whispering to Rachel, she gets self-concisious thinking he’s talking about the fact that she’s now outed. Rachel confirms that Finn only was telling her how great Santana sounded. Santana however doesn’t believe Finn and slaps him, marking the end of the episode.
Moving onto I Kissed a Girl which focuses on the election. Rachel is fully invested in supporting Kurt, who feels like he doesn’t have a chance of winning. Kurt makes an off handed comment about stuffing the ballott box to win the election which is something Rachel takes seriously and ends up doing trying to help Kurt win the election. She as well as the other New Directions girls voice their support for Santana when a guy tries to ‘straighten her out’ and perform a number together which randomly has Rachel on lead with Santana (it should’ve been Brittany but alas). Anyway, Kurt gets called into the office about the ballott box being stuffed with Figgins thinking he did it. Rachel soon admits to Finn that it was her and Finn encourages her to confess which Rachel ends up doing but unfortunately, it costs her making her suspended from school as well as banned from performing at Sectionals which stuns everyone, knowing things probably won’t end well for them.
Up next is Hold on to Sixteen. Rachel is still suspended from school but comes back to get her work where she’s met by Quinn who tells her that she’s going to talk to Figgins about Shelby sleeping with Puck. Rachel is horrified thinking Quinn made up the rumour but Quinn tells her that Puck told her. Rachel says they’re doing nothing wrong because Puck is 18. Does she not know about the rules about teachers not sleeping with students and how wrong it is that she did this? This is viewed as an abusision of power and it’s not something that should be taken lightly. Everyone shames Quinn for wanting to tell the truth about what happened when Shelby’s the one who should be shamed. She shouldn’t have slept with a high school student in the first place. It’s not that they both didn’t consent but it’s just wrong and against most school’s and states regulations. Anyway back to the episode. Finn wants to get Sam back to McKinley and Rachel goes with him to Kentucky where they find Sam working as a stripper. Rachel approaches him with a dollar bill which stuns Sam. Finn and Rachel talk to him about leaving the past behind and coming back to McKinley, they both offer to let Sam stay with their families which his parents accept. At sectionals Rachel is there to cheer on the new directions but soon realizes what’s going on with Quinn who’s about to leave to tell Figgins. Rachel stops Quinn in the hallway and pleads with her not to tell saying if she does tell she should let Shelby know ahead of time, something Quinn actually does. The New Directions win Sectionals without Rachel (WOW can you believe it? The group actually did something without Rachel) and Rachel’s suspension is soon over. Quinn is waiting for her in the lobby and tells Rachel that she’s decided not to tell because she didn’t want to ruin Beth’s life. Quinn soon asks Rachel if she would agree to let the troubletones have a number which Rachel does and the clubs become merged once and for all.
Finally we are at the mid season finale of Extraordinary Merry Christmas and boy is it a doosy with Rachel. Rachel is at quite possibly her most selfish ever when she demands that Finn get her 5 things on her Christmas list (which I don’t understand why she even has, she’s Jewish. Couldn’t they have had her wanting him to get her Hannukah gifts?). Anyway she gets upset when he doesn’t get her bling or anything on her list and instead buys her a pig to feed starving children. She exclaims that he’s embarrasing her and that he needs to get her a better gift. Finn eventually gets her the earrings she wants and also gets her a star that he named ‘Finn Hudson’ saying that there’s already a star named Rachel Berry and she’s brighter than any of the ones in the sky and tells her that if she ever feels sad or lonely, she can look up in the sky and see him looking down on her. Rachel is touched by his gesture and soon realizes she’s been selfish. She soon returns the earrings and decides to donate the money to charity, knowing there are a lot more people in need and that she should be less selfish.
Let’s talk overview, Rachel is quite a bit better than Season 2 probably because she’s in a relationship with Finn and doesn’t have to fight off other girls as much and seems more secure. However, she’s still very insecure when it comes to not being the best. She constantly is doing things to be on top, which causes her to lose her friendships with Kurt and Mercedes. She also is still very self centered and doesn’t quite understand that she needs to be considerate of others feelings too like how she was nasty to Finn during the Christmas Episode and ran against Kurt for Senior Class President at first. She does have some redeeming qualities like stopping Quinn from ruining her childs life (even if letting Shelby off the hook was the wrong thing to do) and even helping the New Directions get Sam back. She still has a lot of growing up to do but for the most part she’s matured quite a bit especially compared to the nightmare that was Season 2 Rachel. We will get into the final half of Season 3 in the next post and will end my Rachel dissection series. Please let me know if there’s anyone else you want me to cover. As always be kind and respectful until next time.

Why I liked Puckleberry
Hello everyone and welcome to probably one of the more controversial posts I’m going to make.
Today I will be talking about why I actually liked Puckleberry which is the ship of Rachel and Puck from Glee.
As I’ve said before it’s probably a controversal opinion for many reasons. Top of the list being how widely disliked Puck is as a character. While he’s actually my least favorite major character, there’s redeeming qualities that he has with Rachel that I have yet to see him have with any other relationship he was part of.
Let’s get started. So why do I ship them? It’s actually pretty simple. The most healthy relationship Puck ever had with a girl was with Rachel. Puck is seen to not care about women and does a lot of questionable things with girls (in particular what happened with Quinn but you can read my opinion on that: here). But his relationship with Rachel is quite the opposite of that. On more than one occasion he’s seen to be incredibly protective of Rachel. For example when he found out that Jesse egged her, he wanted revenge and was going to go after him. Also when she was considering getting a nose job he made it his mission to convince her not to do it, knowing she would regret it. Another thing is he chose to be with Rachel rather than be on the football team in Mash Up. Puck has made it very clear on my occasions that his reputation is important to him. So him sticking with Glee over football was a shock to everyone in Mash Up and to top it off he was dating Rachel at the time, futher proving he cared more about her than other girls he had been with. Also in Mash Up it was Rachel who broke up with him, not the other way around. It seemed like he geuninely cared for her and was hurt and blindsided by the breakup. Another reason I like them together is the fact that when Rachel was throwing herself at Puck he stopped her from losing her virginity to him knowing she was only doing it to get back at Finn for hurting her. He said he couldn’t do it because he already did it to Finn once before and stopped it from happening, something he never did with anyone else. Puck even said in First Time that he secretly hoped that he and Rachel would have sex but was happy for Finn when they were going to. So, in short the main reason why I ship them is because Rachel somehow was able to make Puck a much better person than he was to anyone else.
I geuninely think Puck had strong feelings for Rachel, something he didn’t with anyone else. Now as for Rachel, her feelings didn’t seem as strong for him sadly but she did seem to have a nice friendship with him. Even if they weren’t a couple I actually would’ve loved to have seen more of them as friends since Rachel seemed to get through to Puck in a way that no one else could.
I hope you guys enjoyed this short little post about Puckleberry and stay tuned for the last 2 parts of Rachel’s character analysis. Until then, be kind.

Character Dissection [Rachel Berry]: Episode by Episode - Season 2B
Hello and welcome back to the second half of my Season 2 character dissection of Rachel Berry. Once again I want to leave a warning that my review of Rachel this season isn’t positive so if you are a huge fan, I think it’s best of you click off of this. If not, here are my thought on Rachel for the second half of Season 2 from The Sue Sylvester Shuffle to New York
Let’s start off with the superbowl episode of Glee the Sue Sylvester Shuffle. This episode is one of the 2, 90 minute episodes in Season 2. In this episode the Glee Club and the football team are made to work together after their personal conflicts are hindering the team. Rachel is very unhappy with the newest additions as are most of the club but she’s especially upset about Karofsky. Will soon asks her to perform a new duet she’s been working on with Puck, something that confuses and upsets Finn at first. The performance doesn’t go over well and ends with the clubs fighting. Sue soon decides to make the Unholy Trinity choose between Cheerios and Glee which proves to be a conflict for them but Rachel insists that she knows Quinn will choose Cheerios which pissed me off (avid Quinn fan here but I think you knew that). The Unholy Trinity do end up choosing Cheerios for awhile due to Quinn being scared to losing her status, Brittany worrying about the baby cannons, and Santana just liking being a cheerio more than being in Glee. The football team and Glee Club however seem to be really together, that is until the team gets slushied and quits on Coach Beiste. Rachel and Mercedes meet up with Kurt and Blaine who reveal that they only need 9 players and they come up with a plan, to have the Glee girls fill the team but not play the game, something that is accepted. Rachel is enthusiatic about playing and follows what she said she would do unlike some of the other girls who end up playing. Once Quinn, Brittany, and Santana rejoin the Glee Club, Rachel and the other glee girls help cheer on the game and that’s where Rachel’s storyline ends in that episode.
Up next is Silly Love Songs. Rachel is excited when Finn announces his kissing booth, declaring she will show up with a $50 to kiss him until he realizes that he still loves her, once again proving she isn’t able to give him the time to move past their incident or the space he needs to actually be with someone else who might be better for him. She is shown saying this at a sleepover where she’s with Mercedes and Kurt. I actually did like their friendship moments and the fact that Mercedes told them both not to emphasize on relationships and focus on themselves. Rachel does end up going to Finn’s kissing booth but only with a dollar. She is mad when he kisses her on the cheek instead of the lips which she was expecting. He soon gives her a delayed Christmas present, a gold star necklace. He tells her that he still needs space to get over what happened but it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care about her. Rachel upset accepts his answer and walks away. She later finds out that Finn and Quinn have kissed when she’s taking care of Finn after he gets mono. When Rachel realizes he cares about Quinn and not her she is unhappy but decides that Mercedes was right that she needed to be single for awhile. Some minor storylines she’s involved in are when Santana is insulting the club like she usually does and Rachel strikes back at her leading Santana to leave visibly upset. She also is seen confused by Puck singing ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ to Lauren but soon gets into it. Finally, she’s seen at Breadstix where Kurt says to her and Mercedes that this is the year for the singles.
Moving onto Comeback. After losing Finn, Rachel decides she wants to make a comeback for her career and be trendy within the school so she enlists Brittany to try to popularize her looks. Funny enough this does work and people are copying Brittany but Brittany wore the leg warmers on her arms leading the other girls to do the same and once she finally wears the same look as Rachel, people can only credit Brittany with their ideas which makes Rachel hurt and upset. Brittany explains to Rachel that no one in school sees her as a trendsetter which Rachel is obviously hurt about but soon Rachel finds what she is a trendsetter in and that’s Glee Club. She gets a new idea that would continue throughout the season of wanting to do original songs. No one supports the idea at first but Finn tells her that he does in private. Rachel is obviously upset that he didn’t speak up but he tells her the only way to prove she’s right is to write a great song. He also says he liked the Rachel he saw in Glee Club and said that she’s making a comeback which Rachel is happy about.
Up next is Blame It on the Alcohol one of the more entertaining episodes. We start off with Rachel’s hilariously bad original song ‘My Headband’ which Finn tries to tell her gently that it’s bad. Rachel takes this opportunity to take Puck up on his offer for a party while her dads are out of town hoping it would help with her songwriting. She hosts a party which almost ends before it begins but with Puck breaking into the liquor cabinet, everyone drinks and has a good time. While drunk Rachel starts to hit on Finn leading Finn to walk her through the types of drunks saying Rachel was a needy drunk. She gets upset by this and decides to start a game of ‘Spin the Bottle’ which leads to her and Blaine kissing which progresses into more for Rachel. After the party Rachel drunkenly asks him out on a date which Blaine accepts. The two go on a date but have yet to kiss which Kurt believes is proof that Blaine is gay. Rachel tells Kurt that she’ll kiss Blaine again sober and they’ll see who’s right. Rachel throughout the episode continues to drink as do most of the other members of the club but it leads to probably one of the most iconic moments during the pep assembly where Brittany pukes on Rachel. Rachel swears off drinking after this happens stating it did nothing for her song writing. She then meets Kurt and Blaine at the Lima Bean where she kisses an unexpectant Blaine who declares that he’s definitely gay. Rachel actually takes this well thinking it could be a great song.
Up next is Sexy. Rachel has joined the celibacy club for some unknown reason and she and Quinn are the only two members. Rachel is constantly asking Quinn about her relationship with Finn which Quinn doesn’t want to answer about since she agreed not to tell Rachel about their relationship since Finn didn’t want her to get hurt. Throughout the episode Rachel isn’t into Holly’s Sexy lessons even though she does join in on the number towards the end after Holly brings her and Quinn into the number. Puck soon joins the celibacy club much to Rachel and Quinn’s surprise and joins them in on the celibacy club’s number of ‘Afternoon Delight’. Other than that Rachel doesn’t have much of a storyline in the episode.
Moving onto one of Rachel’s most important episodes Original Song. This episode starts off with Rachel once again trying her hand at an original song delivering the slightly better ‘Only Child’. Finn tells her that her writing isn’t there and the song should be more emotional. Later on when news breaks that ‘Sing’ was taken away from the New Directions, Rachel once again tries to suggest original songs. This time she gets support from an unlikely source of Quinn who is trying to keep Rachel closer to keep her away from Finn. Once Quinn is onboard the entire club seems to fight over who’s going to get to write a song and the club now has decided to do original songs. Rachel soon notices how Finn and Quinn are with each other in the hall and decides to confront Quinn about it. Rachel finally asks her if she and Finn are together which Quinn tells her it’s true. Rachel is clearly hurt by it and adds that Finn had once chosen Rachel over her. Also hurt Quinn snips back asking how long did it last for. Rachel, playing the victim claims Quinn is being ‘so mean’. Girl you started it bringing up that he chose you over her which you know is a sore spot. Rachel claims she’s not going to give up on Finn that it isn’t over to which Quinn exclaims that it is and that Rachel keeps making the same mistakes looking to be with Finn and that if she keeps it up she’ll never Get It Right. This conversation inspires Rachel to write her original song of the same title. While at Regionals Rachel tells Finn that she means every word, once again trying to get Finn away from his girlfriend. The two really bond at Regionals and are thrilled when the New Directions win. The New Directions soon award Rachel the MVP award which everyone voted for her for, even Quinn. Rachel is touched by the award and the New Directions all hug her afterwards.
Up next is A Night of Neglect, probably one of my least favorite episodes of Season 2. Mostly because there isn’t too much of a plot involving the New Directions. Rachel’s biggest plot point is the fact that she wants the closing slot and like everyone else is pushing Mercedes aside. This eventually has Mercedes turn into a diva and make demands. Rachel eventually goes to talk to her and tries to encourage Mercedes that she is good enough and that she didn’t need to make the crazy demands to be respected. Eventually she convinces Mercedes to come back and allows her to have the closing number.
Moving on to one of my all-time favorite episodes Born This Way. This episode actually focuses a lot on Rachel and her insecurity with her nose and how she contemplates getting a nose job. I just want to point out that this was completely out of character for her and a stark contrast to how she was in Acafellas where she rejected the idea of a nose job and told the club that their quirks were what made them special. I know she wanted to look more like Quinn which is unsurpisingly driving her nose job but it was a little strange that she considered it. Her nose was injured and the doctor did suggest it but she always seemed to want to keep her nose the same up until that point. Anyway, she asks Quinn to accompany her to the consultation which Quinn does (as it’s revealed in the episode that Quinn herself had a nose job so she’s not against helping Rachel do the same, sorry Faberry shippers this has nothing to do with Quinn being in love with Rachel). Rachel is admant about wanting to get the nose job not even Finn can convince her not to. But you know who arranges something that actually helps her decide against it? Puck. He enlists the help of Kurt who have a flashmob saying that Rachel is like Barbra Streisand and that she shouldn’t get a nose job which leaves Rachel convinced not to do it. She does have the septoplasty but avoids getting a nose job and wears a shirt embracing her nose.
Up next is Rumours which is one of Rachel’s worst episodes in my opinion. She starts off innocent enough asking Sam to the prom which he declines saying he doesn’t think he’s going to prom. Rachel keeps insisting that they go to prom which leads Sam to tell Rachel he’s just not into her like that. Rachel is shocked but soon reads an article in the Muckraker that she shows to Finn saying that Quinn was at a motel with Sam. While it looks bad on the outside, Quinn is actually helping Sam’s family out by babysitting his siblings. Quinn won’t say what’s happening leading Finn to accuse her of cheating, much to Rachel’s delight. Finn soon asks Rachel to stake out with him in an attempt to catch Quinn and Sam in the act. Their first stake out only sees Sam hugging Kurt goodbye which they mistakenly interpret as Sam having a relationship with Kurt as well. While I get Finn thinking this, Rachel should’ve known better. Quinn confronts Finn about staking out with Rachel and they perform a duet clearly upset with each other. Rachel comments that she thinks Quinn’s duet with Sam was better and Quinn knows exactly what Rachel’s doing and calls her out on it and insists that Finn and Rachel no longer sing together declaring that she doesn’t trust Rachel. Rachel and Finn once again stake out and see Sam and Quinn together. Rachel soon decides to sing a song mostly directing her attention to Finn to piss off Quinn who is upset by it saying what Rachel did was inappropriate and then Rachel goes off saying awful things about how Quinn’s a hypocrite which leads poor Sam to reveal that Quinn wasn’t lying but that his family lost their home and were living in a motel. Rachel and Finn go to make amends with Sam and it all works out. This episode is a good one but Rachel’s actions especially piss me off. This is probably her worst episode in my opinion.
Now moving onto Prom Queen. Rachel sees how upset Mercedes is about Prom and actually does a good thing and talks to her coming up with a plan of Prom on a budget for the two of them to go with Sam. Sam accepts their offer and the 3 of them were going to prom together. All is fine and well until Jesse comes back. Rachel is surpised to see him and Jesse admits he came back for her then asks her to prom. Rachel accepts and Finn soon finds out and is annoyed. Rachel tries to help him with picking a corsage for Quinn, something many Faberry shippers try to say is how they know Rachel loved her because she knew what matched her eyes. Honestly she only made the suggestion to Finn to get something that was green, Finn was the one who picked it out. Anyway Rachel is clearly in love with Jesse as they go on their date with Sam and Mercedes but still seems constantly torn between him and Finn throughout the prom. Jesse and Finn get into a fight over Rachel something both girls try to put a stop to. I feel awful for Quinn since Prom was such a big deal to her and to have it be ruined by the one person who you are insecure about sucks. When Quinn loses Prom Queen Rachel tries to go talk to her. Quinn blames Rachel because everyone knows Finn would rather be with her. She slaps Rachel clearly getting out her frustration for the night but soon apologizes. Rachel comforts Quinn who’s scared because she’s pretty much lost nearly everything she cares about. I know Faberry shippers look at this as a romantic moment between them and I’ve addressed this before, but Rachel only went after her because she knew Quinn was angry with her. She comforted Quinn because she wanted to be her friend. There is nothing romantic there. Sorry for my ranting about them. Anyway the two agree to support Kurt and go back to the prom. Rachel dances with Mercedes and Sam and Quinn dances the night away trying to forget what happened.
Moving onto Funeral. This episode Rachel is competing to be the star of the New Directions and tries to encourage Finn that he’s good enough. She kills her audition but is fighting with the others who want the lead, Santana, Kurt, and Mercedes which leads to Will nixxing the competition. Her only other storyline is with Jesse and her unresolved feelings for him. Jesse promises Rachel that she’ll win and Rachel is so thrilled with that they hug. Rachel is upset when the competition is taken away but agrees to help the club write a song for Nationals something she’s been looking forward to.
Finally, we close with the season finale of New York. Rachel is obviously enthuiastic about New York but makes an error that’s unlike her, saying she got tickets to Cats which had been closed for 10 years. It took Quinn of all people to tell her that. Rachel was Broadway obsessed why would she even think there was a chance that those tickets were real? Anyway she’s incredibly conflicted throughout the entire episode about following her career or getting with Finn. She originally chooses her career but that’s overshadowed when she and Finn kiss after their duet, something that ends up costing them Nationals. Santana is pissed and tries to attack Rachel after they lose. Finn and Rachel soon have a conversation about their relationship and Rachel gets back with him realizing she has another year to go after her New York dreams.
Let’s go to the overview. Rachel is once again selfish with many decisions she makes especially when it comes to Finn. She has somewhat of an obsession of getting him back and is willing to do whatever it takes, something that is constantly hurting Quinn who is his girlfriend for the majority of this half of the season. She is however a really good friend to Kurt and Mercedes which is something that wasn’t truly defined in Season 1 due to her not getting along with everyone. Overall this version of Rachel is still my least favorite even though Season 3 will be coming in a very close second. Stay tuned for the Season 3 post coming your way. Until then, be respectful and kind.

Character Dissection [Rachel Berry]: Episode by Episode - Season 2A
Hello everyone and welcome back to the character dissection series. Once again I’m going to be on the topic of Rachel Berry. I’ve already covered Season 1 by splitting it into two parts. I’m going to be doing the same for Seasons 2 and 3. Today we are going to be covering the first half of Season 2 which is from Audition until A Very Glee Christmas. I will be breaking down her character episode by episode much like the first two posts. Unfortunately, these posts will not be as positive so reader beware. If you are a Rachel fan, this may not be for you.
Let’s start off with the season 2 premiere of Audition. Rachel starts off the episode much like her usual self. She’s now dating Finn and seems relatively happy. However, this happiness is short lived when she finds a foreign exchange student named Sunshine Corozan. She originally apporaches Sunshine to join the Glee Club thinking that she wouldn’t have much to add, however when she hears Sunshine begin singing, she realizes Sunshine is most likely going to be her main competition and may even be *gasp* better than her. After this Rachel tries to make it her mission to discourage Sunshine from joining the Glee Club. Originally she pays off Karofsky and Azimio to slushie her and some of her fellow glee clubbers in front of Sunshine’s locker to scare her off. When Kurt and Mercedes shame her for trying this, she comes up with a new tactic. This is quite possibly one of the worst things she does in the entire series which is sending Sunshine to a crack house. This is Rachel at her very worst. She’s always been self absored and wanting to take the competition out of her way but this was extreme even for her. I wish she would’ve just sent her to Cheerios practice or even to Sue’s office. It would’ve accomplished the same goal of keeping her away from Glee Club while being a lot less cruel to someone who she barely knew. Anyway, soon Tina and Mike find out and alert Will who scolds Rachel and tells her to make it right with Sunshine. Rachel agrees to and invites her to actually try out for the New Directions which she does and has a fantastic performance which you can see Rachel seething throughout. Unfortunately, Sue has found out about Sunshine and tips off Vocal Adrenaline to take her into their school which makes the club angry knowing she probably wouldn’t have left if not for Rachel. Finn also scolds Rachel for what happened and Rachel fears he’ll break up with her to which Finn tells her that he’d never break up with her which gives some relief to Rachel. Rachel goes to rehearse on her own to prepare to accept the backlash of her actions in Glee Club which is where the episode ends.
Next up is Britney/Brittany, another episode where Rachel has a huge part in. Rachel’s first big scene is when the Glee Club takes tablets courtsey of Carl the Dentist and she is one of the few members whose teeth turn blue which she’s upset about saying she flosses between classes and takes good care of herself to which Carl says it’s probably genetic. Later, she and Finn are talking in the hallway where Finn expresses his disappointment about no longer being on the football team. Rachel, selfishly makes it about her and says she’s glad he wasn’t on the team saying he’d probably leave her for a cheerleader. Finn is upset that she believes this and talks about how he feels bad about himself to which Rachel says she wants to be the only thing to make him feel good which Finn doesn’t take well to. Their conversation is interrupted by Santana and Brittany with Santana snarking at Rachel and Brittany saying she’s more talented. Finn laughs rather than defend Rachel which makes her upset but Finn says maybe Santana has a point and adds that he’s trying to be honest, much like what Rachel said to him before. Rachel then goes for her appointment where she has a Britney Spears fantasy which inspires her to change her wardrobe which Finn doesn’t take well to at all, especially since other guys are constantly looking at her. Rachel talks in Glee Club about how she realizes it’s okay to dress like a pretty girl and feel good about yourself from time to time, something that actually isn’t a bad speech at all but is overshadowed by fan speculation about why Quinn is looking away from Rachel which is something I’ve addressed in a previous post. Rachel comes back to Glee practice later that afternoon to find out Finn is back on the football team which she’s upset about even though she previously gave him her blessing. Rachel soon confronts Finn in the locker room as he’s trying on his uniform and wants him to quit the team trying to make him choose between her and football which is yet another selfish move. Later on she purporsely has Quinn test him by asking him out on a date which Finn declines. Rachel is so happy about this she pretends like she realized she was wrong on her own. This is something that’s always annoyed me about Rachel at the end of this episode. The truth is she tested him and he passed. Can you imagine had he actually taken Quinn up on it and had gotten back with her then how mad Rachel woud’ve been? It would’ve served her right for trying to test him when Finn had done nothing to say that he would just leave her for a cheerleader. I know Rachel brought up how he left her to be with Santana and Brittany but he only went on one date with them and didn’t like it. Besides at that time he was trying to find himself something he had the right to do. Anyway I’ll get more into that when I analyze Finn. The show ends with ‘The Only Exception’ which was actually a poor choice of song for the situation and it was la-di-da Finn and Rachel are fine.
Moving onto Grilled Cheesus, one of the few episode Rachel actually doesn’t have a lot of storyline in. She lets Finn touch her breast and is once again making a selfish comment when the Glee Club can’t do any religious songs. She over dramatically exclaims that she found the perfect song and it was ripped away from her like Sophie’s daughter. She eventually performs the song anyway when she’s outside with Finn lighting a candle for Burt so I guess it wasn’t ripped away huh? Anyway she doesn’t have much else of a storyline in the episode since she’s Jewish and this was more of an episode about Christianity.
Up next is my personal favorite episode of Duets. In this episode Rachel’s trying to be more selfless and follow in Finn’s footsteps, one of the only times during the entire season that she displays this quality. She thinks that Sam should win so he feels a part of the group which Finn agrees to. She overdramatically says they need to find a way for her to lose a competition. Let me just go on another rant. One thing I couldn’t stand about Glee (this is on the writers end) was that anytime Rachel gave a really good performance the entire club would just vote for her. Meanwhile, when anyone else killed their performance, it was never met with as much enthusiam, case in point, this episode. Everyone voted for themselves except Finn and Rachel who helped Sam and Quinn win. This is something that made me annoyed just because it was a real slap in the face to some of the great vocalists in the club like Mercedes and Santana. Anyway back to the episode, Finn and Rachel end up picking a duet and perform it offensively as a priest and catholic school girl which the club obviously finds awful. They end up getting Sam and Quinn the win and things work out. Rachel soon notices how sad Kurt is and decides to talk to him. She lets him know that even though he’s lonely, he’s not alone and decides to perform a duet with him that is one they both love and the two start to form a friendship, one that actually helped Rachel become more humble as time went on.
Up next is the Rocky Horror Glee Show, another one of the best episodes. This episode starts off with a bang with Rachel once again selfishly claiming the lead female role. When Will says that girls need to split the lesser female roles of Columbia and Magenta, Rachel makes a comment that pisses me off. She said it’s standard Broadway practice to save their voices. If any role should’ve been split, it should’ve been the lead. Rachel should ‘preserve her voice’ sometime but once again nothing is said another than a throw away comment from Mercedes. Anyway Rachel is just jazzed about the musical and doesn’t realize what a toll it’s taking on Finn, though she does come to his defense when Brittany and Santana are making rude comments about his body. Anyway Will cancels the musical saying he was selfish for wanting to put it on in the first place but agrees to let the New Directions put on the production for themselves, something they seem happy about.
The next episode is Never Been Kissed, another episode Rachel takes more of a backseat to. Her biggest part in the episode is when she tries to do the opposite and keep quiet, something no one expects from her and when she once again is the lead in the mashup (so much for opposites am I right?). Anyway the only other storyline she has is when the guys reveal that they’ve been using Coach Beiste to cool off and she glares at Finn who tells her that he’s never done it.
Moving onto The Subsititute which starts off with Will getting sick and Rachel taking over the Glee Club, something Santana doesn’t take kindly to and tries to attack her for once again only wanting the lesson to revolve around herself. The club soon gets a subsititute in Holly and Rachel isn’t fond of her in the least. She finds her to be goofing off too much and tries to convince Will to come back to the school as soon as he can saying Sue (who’s now acting principal) would replace him. Holly tries to talk to Rachel and soon gets her more onboard with her lessons as the two do a duet. When Will is fired however, Rachel is the first one to come to his defense and says he’s the best thing that happened to the school, not her. An unlikely statement.
Up next is Furt which is probably one of my favorite episodes. Rachel tries to rally the girls to get their boyfriends to defend Kurt from Karofsky, something Quinn isn’t too fond of saying that she isn’t dating Sam (yes you are girl don’t lie to yourself you were literally on top of him making out two episodes ago). Anyway Rachel tries to talk to Finn who’s more worried about his reputation which Rachel is upset with him over saying she’s never been more disappointed in him. Later at the wedding she is constantly trying to keep Finn’s attention insisting on him telling her how pretty she looks and the two actually seem relatively happy at the wedding but all that changes in the next episode.
Special Education is probably the most complex episode for Rachel, especially since at the beginning she finds out that Finn lied to her about not sleeping with Santana last year, something she’s clearly hurt about. The two are fighting and it leads Rachel to try to hurt him the way he hurt her. Enter in Puck, she invites him over and makes out with him, fully intending to have sex with him but Puck stops it saying he can’t do that to Finn again. Rachel is upset but seems to understand. Rachel is at her most selfish in this episode especially after she finds out she doesn’t have a solo. She’s constantly rude about Sam and Quinn having the duet and even places ducttape on her mouth babbling about how her talented is wasted in the club (you literally are giving everything don’t even). Anyway Will calls her and the rest of the club out about their bad attitutes and they prepare for Sectionals. Rachel actually is less selfish when she helps out Kurt with his audition for a solo for the Warblers. The two soon are bonding when Rachel reveals that she and Finn broke up after he lied about being with Santana which Kurt was surprised that she didn’t know. Rachel soon finds out the entire club knew about it which leads to a huge argument before the New Directions go on. Rachel isn’t too happy about being background but is glad when the New Directions tie the Warblers and move onto Regionals. She and Finn hug and start to put the past behind them. However, the next day Rachel reveals about what happened with Puck which clearly hurts Finn, especially with what he went through last year with Quinn and he breaks up with Rachel for good. A fitting ending to this episode.
Finally we get to the mid-season finale of A Very Glee Christmas. Rachel tries to win Finn back by singing a song to him and even trying to pick out a tree with him. However, Finn isn’t ready to forgive Rachel for what she did to him and leaves her.
Let’s talk overview. Rachel somehow has become even more selfish this season and I have no idea where it stemmed from or why it happened. Even in the finale she keeps trying to force Finn to get back with her, something he’s told her that he’s not ready to do and still needs to heal. Honestly Season 2 Rachel is probably the worst she is throughout the series. This actually gave me an idea about another subject I wanted to cover in the favoritism that was displayed towards Rachel by the show which will probably be written after my character overview. I hope you enjoyed this. Stay tuned for the second half of Season 2.

What caused Quinn’s breakdown in Season 3?
Hello again everyone and welcome back to another lovely blog post.
In this post I’m going to be discussing Quinn’s breakdown and what I believed caused her to go from fine at the end of the Season 2 finale to Punk Quinn at the start of Season 3.
Let’s start off with what I believe started it all, Quinn’s breakdown in New York. This is the first glimpse of what would be her storyarc for the first half of Season 3. Quinn at this point has lost pretty much everything in her life. It started off with her quitting Cheerios in the Sue Sylvester Shuffle, something that first made her insecure leading her to cheat on the first good relationship she had with Sam. She wanted to choose Sam after realizing that he loved her and only her while Finn was torn between her and Rachel, unfortunately for Quinn, she didn’t get to make that choice since Sam found out about her cheating and broke up with her. This quickly sent her into a depression which can be noticed during ‘Blame It on the Alcohol’ when she is constantly looking at Sam with other girls and is upset by it. However, things seem to be looking up for her when she gets back together with Finn. For the first time she seems mildly happy though she is still insecure about him and Rachel especially during ‘Original Song’. She tries to befriend Rachel and support her original song idea to keep her away from Finn. She admits that she and Finn are together and tells Rachel that she’s better than this town leading Rachel to write a song that helps them take Regionals. However, during Regionals, Quinn is once again hurt seeing how Finn looks at Rachel and how he is around her. She continues to be insecure about her retlationship with Finn throughout the entirety of their relationship. Her past gets out in ‘Born This Way’ which makes her even more hurt but Finn is actually supportive of her through this telling her that she looked beautiful and it was the first time that he really saw her. However their relationship backslides during Rumours. Quinn has been helping out Sam by babysitting his siblings since his family recently lost their home and they are now living in a motel. Quinn agreed to keep Sam’s secret which ended up making Finn insecure thinking she was cheating on him by being at that motel with Sam. Finn goes to spy with Rachel which infuriates Quinn leading the two to perform ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ for a duet. After the duet Quinn demands that Finn not have any more duets with Rachel feeling like she can’t trust Rachel. Rachel retailates singing ‘Go Your Own Way’ to Finn which further upsets Quinn. The truth finally comes out about Sam and Finn realizing he was wrong feels bad about it. The next episode of ‘Prom Queen’ further hurt Quinn when she lost her dream of being prom queen to a lame prank by other students electing Kurt as the prom Queen. Not only that but the entire night Finn seems more interested in Rachel than Quinn which leads to Quinn saying that her losing is Rachel’s fault, angry at the fact that Rachel has two guys interested in her while Quinn feels like no one cares about her all over again on the one night she wanted everything to be perfect. Her breakup with Finn in Funeral also leads to this breakdown. Finn tells her that she feels nothing anymore and that he’s still in love with Rachel which clearly upsets Quinn who feels like she loses everything to Rachel including her boyfriend.
All of these event set the stage for Quinn’s breakdown in New York leading her to say she just wants to be loved, frustrated that almost everyone else seems to have someone. Quinn gets a haircut and seems slightly better, especially being at Nationals. However, her happiness is shortlived when the New Directions lose nationals coming in twelfth place. When we go to the choir room when the New Directions get back, Quinn actually seems in a good place and even calls Finn and Rachel into the choir room clapping and smiling, so how did she go from that to what happened in Season 3?
The answer is simple if you think about it. During the summer Quinn once again suffered a loss, Sam moved away. I know what you’re thinking ‘But they weren’t together and Sam was dating Mercedes’. It’s all true but I think Quinn leaned a lot on Sam’s friendship and still had feelings for him even though he was with someone else. I think losing Sam sent Quinn over the edge and made her start to focus on everything she didn’t have thus leading her to her breakdown in Season 3.
Does anyone remember when the breakdown stopped? It was when Sam had returned to McKinley. She was still going through it when he first got back but it seemed like the combination of him returning plus him turning her down and giving her a reality check finally sent Quinn on her way back to normalcy. I know people will argue that it was Rachel who brought her back but honestly, I don’t think so at all. Yes, Rachel tried to get her not to tell about Shelby’s hookup with Puck but Quinn went to tell Shelby that she was going to tell the school about it leading Shelby to leave. Quinn on her own decided not to tell and after winning Sectionals, realized what really mattered her senior year with her friends something Shelby actually said to her.
So that was my take on Quinn’s breakdown. It might be inaccurate but this is what I believe caused it and what I believe ended it and brought the real Quinn back. Let me know if there are any other subject you would like me to cover :)
