i can understand where jason is coming from when he gets angry with bruce about the mantle of robin and how much of a farce it became after his death. (even if i dont necessarily agree with him on all points.)

even from a meta standpoint, batman getting a new robin after dick grayson would have been a huge deal. dick was robin for fourty four years. but jason was only robin for FOUR before being replaced.

what should have been (both inside and outside the text) a massive change, a passing of the mantle, a shift in legacy, ended up being a blip on the radar.

and that's something jason can never get back. he cant grow up alongside batman, being the boy wonder and growing into his own as a hero. he's just expected to be on par with the other adult robins even though he never got a chance to be one for as long as they did.

and then after his death, batman starts running through robins like socks. he literally replaces him with the first rando to ask (no shade to tim, he's a very capable robin.) in the end, 'robin' was really only a title that was special for dick (and maybe damian if B is feeling nice.) so of course jason doesnt feel respected, because he thinks that his time as robin wasnt as meaningful to bruce as it was to him.

whether or not that point of view is true...well it kinda depends on how the person writing him that day feels about the whole thing lol.

Is it a hot take to say Bruce was not particularly warm to Jason when he was Robin and that he did not have an especially parental relationship toward Jason? Whenever people say they were extra close compared to other Robins, they cite pre-crisis stories. Different Bruce, different Jason.
