Magic happens at the intersection of your power, passion, and purpose.
Build a career that taps into your:
1. Power (talents, skills, knowledge, and experience).
2. Passion (doing more of the work you love and less of what you hate).
3. Purpose (working on something that matters and improves the world and people's lives in some way, big or small).

You will face “bitter trials” during the course of your long career. They will never feel good in the moment, but — rest assured — they will pass. Most times, better opportunities await you.
After the failure of my old tech startup, I questioned my talent and capabilities. I doubted myself.
Then, I went through the very exercise that I just published for my premium subscribers this week. I sat down and spent a few days writing what I now call “The Story of You.”

Most people let their careers "just happen."
They don't give much thought to planning their career path, looking for the best employers, and controlling their future until something goes wrong.
Suddenly, they notice that:
- They're being passed over for promotions.
- It's taking longer to find new jobs.
- Their career growth is slowing down.
- Their raises have flatlined.
- They're feeling unhappy, stressed, anxious, worried, and unfulfilled.
Those people who seem happier and more successful than you aren't better than you. They're just more confident, know what they want, and pursue it with a vengeance.
They are in the driver's seat, controlling where their careers and lives are going.

When we're young, we desperately want to fit in.
We don't want to be different.
No one likes the "weird kid."
But, being the same as everyone else is a recipe for mediocrity later in life.
Dare to be different.
Dare to be weird.
Leverage your uniqueness as an asset.
People who stand out get noticed.
They get better opportunities.
They get promoted.
They get hired.
(I never said I was a "good dancer," just a weird one 😂)
