OP here 🤣 first of all, thank you so much, i really like that this art is getting feedback it deserves! second, i wish you good luck with diving into the silmarillion because it’s really so so good and the story (stories, actually) are really interesting. as for maedhros, he’s my favourite character and he’s so tragic for me 😭😭 if we go without spoilers, at first everything is okay, he’s the eldest son of the crown prince, but all things go very wrong (but it’s intended) and maedhros ends up very lonely, very sad and absolutely destroyed. so this art is for “everything is great” timeline maedhros, who’s called nelyafinwë maitimo at the time (for plot reasons, you know)

third thing, translation! actually, it has nothing to do with the art itself, it’s just my random maedhros headcanon 🤣 the translation is very rough and kinda contains spoilers so beware

description goes: maitimo! in valinor! and everything is great!
