Day 9/ 100 Days Challenge for Langblrs
Day 9. Try 2 tongue twisters.

Day 6/ 100 Days Challenge for Langblrs
Day 6. Memorize a poem.

Day 5/ 100 Days Challenge for Langblrs
Day 5. Translate a song.
Blue light
You resemble me
Like a tide (you) always sway and
Your insides end on the floor if you touch
Remember breathing and spitting again
Silence
This moment, I feel everything
I know the joy of loneliness
Blue night
Calling me I am far
It is light, Is it dark
Today the shining sea
Is dark like the night
But if I know my way
There is no fear
Silence
This moment, I feel everything
I know the joy of loneliness
Blue night
Calling me I am far
It is light, Is it dark
I love the pain and silence of youth
It blooms again
Silence
This moment, I feel everything
I know the joy of loneliness
Blue night
Caught in my thin hands
It is light, Is it dark
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 4/ 100 Days Challenge for Langblrs
Day 4. Sing a Disney song for 3 times.
“Into the Unknown”

14 Day Langblr/ Languages Challenge by lass-uns-studieren
On a whim one lazy morning, I thought I ought to create a langblr challenge. You don’t see many of these around as you do regular studyblr challenges so I felt like making one specifically for all the langblrs out there. Have fun!
Your target languages and why you want to learn them
Favourite word in your target language(s)
Post a progress pic from Duolingo or Memrise or Quizlet
Make a recipe in your target language. If you can’t do that, translate a recipe from your native to your targer ot vice versa
Fave quote in your target language(s)
Show us your language resources/ exercise books
Hardest thing about your target language(s)
Your favourite songs/bands in your target language(s)
Show us how you write in your target language(s); in any alphabet
If your native language wasn’t x, what’d you want it to be and why? If you like your native language, why would you stick with it?
If you could wake up one day speaking another foreign language, what’d it be? (it can’t be any of the ones you’re currently studying!)
Read the news in your target language(s) and summarise what you’ve learnt of current events
What is your favourite untranslatable word/phrase and why?
Write out something random in your target language(s), in any level of proficiency. Just go random!

Langblr Activation Challenge
Tumblr media
The langblr community is rather dead. What can we do about it? Maybe another langblr challenge would inspire people to keep the community alive? Let’s give it a try.  This challenge is called Langblr Activation Challenge and I really hope as many people as possible will join! The challenge consists of 5 tasks you have to do, one task per week. The tag for the challenge is #langblractivationchallenge, please use it if participating!
The tasks
Week 1: Write an introduction post. Even if you have made one before and everyone knows you already. Tell us who you are, what your native language is, what other languages you speak, what languages you’re studying, what other hobbies/interests you have, etc. Let’s get to know each other a bit!  Week 2: Promote other langblrs. You can promote your favourite langblrs, the langblrs you’re following, the langblrs following you, or just random langblrs you find in the polyglot/languages/langblr/etc. tags. This is a great opportunity to find and help others find new langblrs to follow. Week 3: Join a langblr group chat/discord server. They are great for getting to know other people in the community and practicing your target languages. If joining a group chat/discord server sounds too overwhelming and/or intimidating, just send a message to some other langblr.   Week 4: Make some original langblr content. It can be anything: a vocabulary list, grammar explanation, resource list, list of songs/movies/books in your native/target language(s), a song with translation/vocabulary list of the lyrics, “questions for langblrs”, langblr challenge, picture of your language books/notes, tips to learn a language/languages in general, etc. Don’t forget to tag it with tags such as #polyglot #languages #langblr to make sure as many people as possible see it! Week 5: Participate in another langblr challenge! You can find some challenges here. If none of them spark your interest, make your own challenge! Langblr challenges are a great way to improve your language skills and keep the community alive.
Good luck everyone!

new in town
so i’ve created this tumblr (yes, i created a tumblr in the year two thousand and twenty. i’m shocked too) in order to do the following:
practice writing in my target languages (this one’s obvious)
provide lessons (explaining helps me understand better)
provide study tips for school and language learning (i am a pretty good student if i do say so myself)
as of today, i’ve studied korean and french with some level of order and structure. i studied french in secondary/high school for 2 years, but haven’t studied in a while. i’m hoping to pick back up. as for korean, i am entirely self taught and have been doing so for about the same amount of time. i’m not sure of my actual levels for either but my korean has surpassed my french in the past year.
i’ve also decided to start the journey into the language i’ve always wanted to speak: chinese, more specifically, mandarin. unfortunately, mandarin has proven far more difficult to tackle alone so i will be studying it in college/university this coming fall. for now, mandarin is taking a backseat; i learn best in a classroom setting so this journey will have to wait until the fall. (i want to do right by this language, and my inconsistent past with solo studying is not the way to go.)
Tumblr media
now onto the fun stuff.
SHORT TERM GOALS:
reach intermediate level in korean
relearn the french i’ve forgotten
become more confident speaking in them both ^
begin learning mandarin
LONG TERM GOALS (like, really long term):
reach fluency in all of the languages i’ve shown great interest in
speak 2 languages before i graduate
speak 6 languages (including english) before 30
LANGUAGES I HAVE MY EYE ON:
spanish (!!!)
arabic (!!!)
japanese
vietnamese
swahili
warning: i’ve never formally used tumblr dot com before, only for casual browsing and some fandom stuff, so some things may look a little wonky for a while. i’ll get the hang of it eventually, i really want this account to look nice and be useful.
