my name is funkybananas18 and this is my personal blog, where i will be posting all the news that's fit to tumbl. there will, in fact, be no news -- unless it is deeply personal and moving enough to be polished up and shared with the world. instead, i will be posting reviews of albums, movies, mini-essays on topics that intrigue me, and whatever else i please in a (likely faux) editorial style. think of me as an investigative journalist deeply concerned with uncovering what it is that makes the human condition so unendingly explorable. my main approach to investigation: exploring it.

i do not seek to quantify things in numbers or metrics that are any degree simpler than that which i can achieve with my own language. aka, fuck ranking lists and star ratings and a set list of qualities that i look for in things to find them worthy of my time. gimme it all, baby, and let me make art from art from art until all we have left is prokaryotism. i also know that sometimes the way i write can be ... unapproachable. i don't really mean for it to be, but for so many people language is a fickle thing -- i have found it to succumb easily in my grasp, and for as much time i have left here, with you, i will use this advantage like i need it to fill my lungs. so you'll have to excuse me if i wax poetic, i promise it's all part of the show and i want ever so much for you to enjoy it.

but for that part, you'll just have to stay tuned ;)
