man. this whole thing pisses me off because like. even when people talk about staff having a history of hating trans women, that this isnt the first time, without fail black trans women are forgotten to be included again and again. im not surprised this caused such an uproar when the popular white woman gets deleted. nobody should be, its been that way like forever. some cunt in my inbox got annoyed i called rita a sex worker (lol? okay)

but i mentioned that in my post because so many black trans women have gotten removed from this site for their sex work alone, regardless of if it "broke community guidelines" or not, especially when tumblr live and the ads on this website are so fucking horny. idek what to say rn because like. this wont get as many notes as the posts talking about her will. the exploding car thing is gonna get more attention than the trans women on this site you dont actually care about listening to. ive been talking about how unfair it is to be a black tgirl on this site for years and nobody cares.

i love rita, we talked abit the other day and she's doing fine, dont get it twisted and think i hate her or some bs, she's a big fucking reason im not fucking homeless.

I took a quick peek at your blog because of the thirnova icon, and love the theming you've got, but i didn't see any meteos posts (which is fine) so I'm gonna give the full rundown 👍

Alright! Now time for the Cliffnotes version of that stuff, plus my own subjective info

Meteos is a game series consisting of Meteos (2005) for the DS, Meteos Wars (2008) for the Xbox Live Arcade (Xbox 360 online store), and some other titles that I'm not knowledgeable on, like the now defunct Meteos Online and Meteos: Disney Magic (which is just funny to me)

The very basic plot is: The planet Meteo is sending out streams of destructive matter called meteos, which is threatening to destroy all the planets in the universe. The various alien civilizations discovered that when the meteos group in a certain way, they change direction, and launch the meteos falling from the sky back out into space. Now they're fighting back against the meteos, and one of the civilizations has created the Metamo Ark, a spaceship made of meteo ore, to sail to Meteo and defeat it. There's some details I'm leaving out, but this isn't an award-winningly deep plot we've got here.

Actual gameplay is essentially just a match-3 game, but with a twist: meteos (matchable blocks) fall from above, and by moving them through the columns, you match them, and they launch upwards. The real kicker is the many different planets with different mechanics. For example, Forte (the home of my namesake) has a playfield 9 columns wide, has relatively low gravity (stacks fall back down slower) low-ish horizontal launch power (matches where the blocks are next to each other instead of above/below) but very high vertical launch power. And now that I'm typing this, I realize that I'm just saying words, so, uh, I'm just gonna drop another link to this playlist of gameplay samples for every planet in the original Meteos DS. The uploader is playing pretty fast, but it should give a basic idea.

Anyways, subjective opinion time. First of all, the gameplay is simple, but it's really good. Second of all, the art and general visual design is just, also really good. This post is already on the bulkier side, so look through the miraheze wiki if you want some images. I just, I just like it a lot, especially the aliens. They're all just color, no shading, just flat shapes, and the lore is bare-bones, but what's there is so nice and creative! It's beauty in simplicity, and it's a perfect little base to build off of!

Ok, but how could I play it? Well, the roms for both Meteos DS and Meteos Wars are easy to find, and the emulators DesMuMe and xenia are too! The company that made Meteos is defunct now (sad), so I don't think supporting the devs is something you can really do here, but if you really wanna play legit (or if your computer can't handle Xbox 360 emulation, like mine) and you have the consoles, then Meteos Wars is still available for purchase from the XBLA, and there's copies of Meteos DS still floating around on online marketplaces.

In summary, Meteos is a simple but good game (series) with very nice visual design, with easily available roms. If you're thinking about playing it, do. Please. /lh

yes!!!!!

i imagine Hotted and Firim have great relations and have worked out a nice little arrangement. Hotteds don't have hands but are Big As Fuck. Firimes aren't big but they can actually manipulate things with their arms. so Hotteds will do big jobs that would usually require large machinery, and Firimes, in return, do small things Hotteds can't do, and provide technology that Hotteds can use (like a giant orbitouch keyboard). And it's not even that hard for the Hotteds, they're so relatively strong that it's usually tedious at worst.

like imagine some, like, tiny lizards coming up to you and saying "hey if you move sticks for us then we'll give you an apartment and a PC perfectly tailored for you down to the shape of the keys." and it's a small apartment but damn! there's a significant Hotted population on Firim but they're sparse enough that there's always positions open.

(i don't imagine there's a significant Firime population on Hotted, because there's little molten stone on the surface, mostly metal and solid stone, which is not a hard requirement for Firimes but it's like humans living without the sky or any natural light. more of an enrichment/sensory thing. when you can telepathically move lava its existence is very important to your mental health. also the omnipresent metallic smell is awful for them.)

also Hotteds are REALLY good at singing and sounds in general. as i said i think it would be cool if they could make the noises in the soundset, and that needing a very complex vocal system, Hotteds are lyrebirds 2.0. Their languages are almost beyond the comprehension of other species, but the phonetics of other species' languages is child's play to Hotteds. The only reasons they aren't widely employed as translators and vocalists are 1. they are Big As Fuck 2. their default response to any conflict is to duke it out and 3. they are extremophiles whose ideal living conditions are over 400°C. (ok that has nothing to do with firim but. i like hotteds and talking about them)

lemme elaborate a bit on my original thoughts:

my very first thoughts on Lastarals were that they had a smooth metallic surface with, like, flesh inside, but after further consideration, i think they probably have an irregular, crystalline, faceted surface. based on the animations, their entire body could be reflective, and they can very easily rotate their body. going off the translated text on the miraheze wiki, their eye is the main reflector for communication, but for their bodies, they could rotate and angle their body relative to the strongest light source to affect how the light reflects off of their surfaces, as an additional component of communication

i was trying to lead into megadomers specifically but i couldn’t figure it out so i’m just gonna talk about the whole tier. limotubians are probably fuzzy, with something like fur, while ranbarumbans are likely at least partially covered in something like feathers. the petals of floriasians are likely silky, but they could maybe have fuzzy trichomes (plant hairs) on other parts of their bodies. i imagine megadomers to be smooth and soft kinda like the inside of a person’s arms, but not similar enough to be put in the person tier. they are definitely a good candidate for the smooth tier

and speaking of slippery/waxy, i put vubblies in the wet tier not because i think they’d be water wet, but because i think they’d be very oily and squishy. they would need to be water repellent because being water wet would be a serious detriment to flying considering how small they are. that assumes vubble’s viscous oceans are typical water, but if it’s that thick (and assuming it’s a polar substance) then being whatever-it-is repellent would be even more important

i personally think of firimes as not being fully carbon-based, being some kind of non-LAWK (Life As We Know it) being that can thrive in a molten hellscape. i have. many thoughts about them and i got distracted drawing a firime structural system diagram but i will make that into its own post. to summarize i imagine basically an internalized, broken-up shell right under relatively thin, stiff skin, on the torso, most of the head, and segments of the leg. the arms probably feel much different but that was the texture i was imagining

i love the sea angel comparison and think it's very apt. not sure what else to say i just like it 👍

hotteds are weird elephants to me. i imagine they've also got some non-LAWK stuff going on, but i think of elephant skin mixed with very coarse sandpaper. i've never touched an elephant before, i'm going off descriptions, but i hope that gives enough of a vibe. their crests are probably like you said, and the head is probably more armored, to allow for easier combat (via headbutting, and i imagine it's more a dominance ritual and less of a genuine attempt to harm each other)

obligatory note that these are just my headcanons, no worries if you disagree!
