What is the story behind Fillmores broken rear-view mirror?

Oh this is a good one…

Personally I think it happened when he was a teenager at a protest. Peaceful, but definitely not immune to rowdy cops who wanted a reason to arrest them. I think a riot broke out, and Fillmore got caught in the mix. Next thing you know, his mirror is broken.

something that’s really interesting to me is that they’ve literally been a concept since the earliest days of cars.

also! they’re never NOT together. it’s something that’s so consistent in the cars universe, even mater’s tall tales and cars on the road (for the little bits that we see of them.) they even have a promotional poster together.

sarge also only lets himself be vulnerable when he’s with fillmore. like these two very clearly trust each other. they also consistently go on dates to flo’s in the comics and the movies.

they’re so very clearly in love that it’s insane. they’re the definition of opposites attract and even though they bicker a lot i think that they make it work… they’re definitely married btw it was the biggest thing to happen to radiator springs since the interstate..
