Earth 489: Teddy Knight
(A rarity for me to do this, but it's necessary, trigger warning, there's some mild mention of rape in this characters bio)
Born Kyle Theo Nimbus, Teddy Knight is the result of a non-consensual encounter between Jack Knight, the second Starman, and Nash Nimbus, the second Mist. His mother intended to raise him to be a villain, all while taunting his father about his existence. But thankfully it was not meant to be. In a tragic turn of events, Nash was murdered by her own father, her dying moments spent giving Jack their son. Renamed Kyle Theo Knight, the young boy would grow up with his father and step mother, as well as a half sister.
Teddy lived a happy life, though he knew of his maternal origins and family. He worried that his bloodline would corrupt him, turn him into what his mother wished for him to be. It was only when a third Mist, one unaware of the baggage the name once held, came to be. This young "Andie Murphy", a member of the Outsiders, inspired Teddy, gave him the courage to use his powers for good. With the Cosmic Rod belonging to Stargirl, and his grandfather's Gravity Rod long destroyed and the blueprints gone, when the time came, Teddy became the fourth person to call himself Mist, and the second to carry the name into the light.
Teddy joined the third iteration of The Justice Society, where he would meet Courtney Whitmore's successor, her sister Patricia Dugan. Although initially hostile towards her - unintentionally so, as he had some latent dislike for her using the Cosmic Rod - the two grew close and through time, their relationship took a turn for the better. With some help from another time period, Teddy and Patricia rebuilt the Gravity Rod and he became the next Starman.
Notes
Teddy was a bit bare bones when I first decided to add him. I admittedly hadn't actually known much about him or his history at first, but his appearance on the new JSA series inspired me to explore him more in depth. @lesbianbrainwave had some great posts that helped me along, mostly with me deciding to make him Starman rather then sticking with Mist, as I originally intended.
Teddy and Patricia was a crack ship that just came to me all of the sudden. The idea of two familial legacies connected to the stars converging together was appealing to me, and after realizing they were similarly aged, I just went ahead with it.
Andie Murphy is from Young Justice. Originally, I wasn't going to add her, but when I found that she was semi-popularly shipped with Livewire, I couldn't resist. I thought she would be a nice segway from all the horribleness that is the first two users of the Mist name.

Earth 489: Hummingbird
Mary Leah Maxwell was once your ordinary college student. A quick learner and a good friend, she longed for a life full of the excitement she often found in her comic books. She would get her wish with her father Philip, a scientist specializing in DNA alteration, would become the target of an organization he used to work for, aiming to use his research in tandem with their own studies in time travel to commit crime. Mary and her father fled from their home in Gotham City, traveling all around the world to escape their pursuers. It was during one of these trips that Mary's life would change forever.
The two Maxwell's had been traveling by sea when their boat entered a strange green fog. Unable to see in the mist, Mary fell off the boat and into a patch of green running through the water. Although she had been saved quickly, Mary instantly felt fatigued, at a level she never had before. Once they reached a shore in Los Angeles, it was found that Mary was suffering from a perpetual energy drainage... and that she would die without treatment.
Salvation came in the form of Philip's scientific research, and a dead hummingbird. He extracted DNA from the bird and used it to cure his daughter of her affliction. But by then it was too late. Their pursuers had found them and gunned down Philip. Mary had only seconds to react, but that was all she needed. The shot she had been given had given her superspeed, which she used to take down the gunmen.
Alone, afraid, and now equipped with strange abilities she didn't know anything about, Mary found an abandoned movie studio to test her powers and limits. She found that she could run at the speed of light, and even create breaches in time. With these abilities, she began a new life as a superhero, much like in her comics, and in various cities and countries around the globe. She donned a white suit made of spare clothing, rollerblading gear, and light armor, and with it took down the organization that murdered her father. She then dedicated her life to helping others, using the name of the animal which gave her her powers.
Mary, as Hummingbird, would later be recruited into the Justice League as part of a group stationed in Los Angeles.

I love the Just Imagine series. For those who don't know, it's a series written by Stan Lee as his own version of the DCU. Batman is a black wrestler, Wonder Woman is a Brazilian woman powered by a sun God, and Flash is a teenaged girl with a love for comic books.. It's a definite favorite of mine, with fun characters that I wish DC would explore more. But if they won't do it, I will.
Mary was the Just Imagine version of The Flash, as mentioned earlier. While most of her backstory as told in this post is translated straight from the pages of her debut issue, I had to change her name to something else. I know there's several simultaneous Flash's in canon, and that's the case on 489 as well, but it wouldn't be fair for her teammates to get new codenames while she gets to keep her old one. Choosing a new name was a little difficult. At first, I wanted to use Hot Pursuit, since the last character to use that name, Patty Spivot, also had the short blonde hair thing Mary has. That didn't work out so well, so I went with Red Racer, which in canon is the name of a gay Flash from a different Earth. It was meant to be a fun little nod to Mary's costume incorporating rainbow tassels that are attached to her helmet, creating a trail behind her, as well as my headcanon that she's gay (I mean, just look her up and you'll see how obvious it is that she loves women), but I realized that I'd have to change her costume and I didn't want to do that. I settled on Hummingbird after some time, and I felt it fit her personality.
Mary has no middle name in canon. As with all Just Imagine characters, I added a tribute to Stan Lee in her name. In this case, her middle name is Leah, which is pronounced Lee-ah. Coincidentally, Leah can also be spelt Lia, which is the name of a different blonde, teenaged female Flash from the multiverse whom I plan to incorporate into this AU. But let's save that for a different post.

I'm not going to address the shitshow going on in these replies anymore then I already have, but if anyone has a problem with my writing, I think it would be best to let me know, rather then ridiculing and insulting me. I've done my best to keep this storyline as unproblematic and positive as possible, up to and including consulting my friends on this, all of whom would have told me if there was a genuine issue, but I seem to have fallen into the trap of trying to please the ultimate unpleasable crowd, Tumblr. My asks are open. If you feel there's a problem with what I'm doing, tell me there and I'll see what I can do to fix it. If you just act like an asshole, then you'll get nowhere.

Alan Scott and Molly Mayne are both gay on Earth 489, and both married each other for the same reason (desperate attempt to reaffirm their heterosexuality). However, they both eventually come out to each other. They don't divorce though (too complicated to deal with on top of their already crazy lives, plus they platonically love each other too much to see a reason to do so).
I'd like to note that they only came out to each other long after having a total of 4 kids (Jennie and Todd from Rose Canton on Alan's side, Michael Mayne on Molly's side, and their youngest and only shared child, Jill).

Earth 489: Alda & Irwin Hall
Through the many life times Khufu and Chay-Era have lived, their union has brought about many generations of offspring. The latest of these Hawk children are Alda and Irwin Hall. Born from their latest incarnations, Carter Hall and Shiera Saunders, the twins were orphaned at a young age by Khufu and Chay-Era’s eternal murderer, Hath-Set. Before he could turn his attention to the young children, however, they were rescued by their uncle and aunt, Hank Hall and Dawn Granger. With no other family to go to, Hank and Dawn adopted the two children, raising them alongside their daughter Esme.
Although they survived the encounter, the trauma at having witnessed their parents death’s haunted them, and they were plagued by nightmares. One night, during such a nightmare, they were visited by Dream of the Endless, who claimed to have been, in a previous life, their nephew Daniel. His father had been the son of Khufu and Chay-Era’s reincarnations from the Golden Age of Heroes, the Thangarians Katar Hol and Shayera Thal, the original Hawkman and Hawkwoman. Having recognized their plight, as well as his connection to them, Dream offered to be an adviser to them on how to conquer their nightmares. The siblings accepted the offer, and were tasked with breaking the curse that had plagued their parents (and Dream’s grandparents) for thousands of years. With a goal in mind, equal in both reward and difficulty, Alda and Irwin located their parents old gear and suited up as the new Hawkgirl and Hawkman. They would later join the third iteration of the Justice Society, led by Helena Wayne.
Notes
Hawkman lore is… confusing. Reconciling everything into something coherent took some time, and even then I kind of cheated by just no addressing some things. Ultimately, Hawkman and Hawkgirl aren't too important to the general lore of this universe, so I can get away with it.
Carter Hall's familial connection to Hank (and Don) Hall is admittedly stolen from Earth 27, another (much more popular) fanmade DC continuity created by Roy Westerman. While I do have some issues with the continuity as a whole (which I won't get into bc I don't want to bash the dude's work), there are some individual ideas that I liked, and Carter's relationship to the Hall family is one of those. Also taken from Earth 27 is the Hall family being black. I didn't mention it in the bio because it didn't seem too important to the lore, but I felt it should be stated.
Alda Hall is based on Alda Hall-Saunders from the Arrowverse comic "The (Ex) Legends of Tomorrow". In it, Alda was just an adorable child, but it was mentioned that in a possible future, she'd be a hero known as Hawkwoman, so I decided to go with that idea. As for Irwin, he's mostly an original character. I decided to give Alda a brother (whose name is taken from Hawk and Dove's dad, and therefore Carter's dad in 489) after discovering a character named Janet Hall, who's the granddaughter of Carter Hall from a story called "Batman & Superman: Generations". Janet is also the granddaughter of Bart Hawk, one of the Blackhawks, but since most of the Blackhawks are still in WWII times, I decided to make her the granddaughter of Zinda Blake instead. I'll explain more when I make a dedicated post for her.

John Stewart and John Diggle are step brothers on 489. And yes, the shared Stewart-Diggle household was a confusing place for a while.
Side note though, this little fact (combined with Lynn Stewart being their sister) winds up creating one of the most badass hero families in this AU. But I'll get to that later.

Damian puts together another Titans team after he becomes Nightwing, consisting of the children of the five original Titans*, plus his own Super and Wonder.
The team winds up as him as Nightwing, Jon Kent as Flamebird, Yara Flor as Fury, Robbie Troy as Darkstar, Lian Harper as Speedy, Irey West as Kid Flash, Mar'i Grayson as Robin (later Nightstar), and Cerdian as Aqualad.
Of course, they aren't the only Titans, but that's the starting team.
* On Earth 489, there are actually six founding members of the Titans. Zala Jor-El (who is the first Supergirl in this continuity) is the sixth member. However, she doesn't have any children, baring a clone created from her and Lena Luthor's DNA who isn't around anymore by the time Damian is Nightwing.

Earth 489: Legends of Tomorrow
The Vanishing Point, a place entirely disconnected from time and space. It is here that Rip Hunter is stationed, protecting the timeline and ensuring life as everyone knows it continues its course. But when a mysterious entity begins creating time anomalies that he alone cannot fix, he must build an unlikely team with the help of his life long artifical companion, Gideon, and his timeship, the Waveider. Just don't call them heroes, because they're not. They're Legends. (Who writes this crap?)
Rip Hunter
The leader of a group known as The Time Masters (which includes members such as Gold Beetle and Ava Sharpe), Rip Hunter is the leader of the Legends. As a native of the Vanishing Point, Rip is immune to changes in time, making him the perfect candidate to fix time should anybody alter it. Together with his trusty laser revolver and his friend Gideon, Rip is determined to protect the timeline at all costs.
Sara Lance
The daughter of the original Black Canary, and younger sister of the second, Sara Lance's rebellious, carefree attitude lead to disaster when she ended up in a shipwreck which left her at the mercy of the League of Assassins. After being rescued and trained by its members, it took a long time for her to earn her freedom (an ordeal which resulted in her temporary death), but now she's back and more ready then ever to make up for her past and move past her trauma. Taking the name of White Canary in honor of her mother and sister, she acts as Rip's second in command on the Waverider.
Leonard Snart
The leader of The Rogue of Central City, Leonard Snart went straight after Barry Allen's death, giving up his life of crime to pursue a legitimate career with his sister Lisa, creating a stolen item recovery firm known as Golden Snowball Recoveries. Unfortunately Lisa's return to a life of crime, followed by her supposed death, hardened Leonard's heart and he too made a return, taking up his once abandoned name of Captain Cold. In the years since then, with the return of his sister, and a genuine friendship with Wally West, Leonard's heart has softened up again, and he’s looking to take up another career path as protector of the timeline. Of course, that doesn't mean he's totally reformed. There's a whole timeline out there, filled with artifacts and money to steal, after all.
Mick Rory
Leonard's lifelong friend and opposite in many ways, Mick Rory is a simple man with simple goals: he just wants to kill people and steal stuff. How he goes about it doesn't matter much, just as long as his friend is there by his side. So if that means he more often then not ends up doing some good on this timeship? Well, he'll tolerate it for now.
Ted Kord
When Ted Kord was shot in the head by Maxwell Lord, he was presumed dead to the world. In reality, Rip Hunter had gone to the moment of his death and used the Waverider's advanced technology to save his life. Ted's technological experience makes for a great asset on the ship, but he does miss his friends on the Justice League, particularly Booster Gold. Oddly enough, however, this Rip Hunter fellow reminds Ted of him.
Sara Butters
Pulled from a time period after Ted's assumed death, Sara was an entrepreneur who idolized him and his work. When she discovered he was the second Blue Beetle, Sara used her own equipment to imitate his own and donned a similar costume to him, only in red rather then blue. After a failed audition for the Justice League, she became a short lived member of the Justice Society, until she discovered Ted was alive again. Taking this opportunity to learn from her inspiration, she joined the Waverider crew. Although things are a little awkward now, thanks to there being two Sara's.
Rex Stewart
In this timeline, John Stewart and Shiera Saunders married Mari McCabe and Carter Hall, respectively. But in another, they were a couple, getting together and having a single son by the name of Rex. A member of his timeline's Justice League by the name of Warhawk, Rex was pulled from his own timeline by Rip, as the time master had determined that Rex's presence on the main timeline would result in a better timeline for all, and that Rex's native timeline was about to be erased. It took some getting used to, being on a world where his parents never got together, but Rex is still a hero and will still do what he can to protect his new world.
Jenni Ognats
Another hero from another erased timeline, Jenni Ogants is the granddaughter of Barry Allen and Iris West. Hailing from the same Reach controlled timeline as Bart Allen, Jenni was rescued by Rip and recruited into the Legends. While thankful for his intervention, Jenni doesn't feel like she belongs on the ship and is looking for a place to call her own. She might just find it in the 31st century.
Buddy Standler
Possibly the least expected recruit anybody could imagine, Mitchell Bernard "Buddy" Standler is The Condiment King, a former enemy of Batman. After his attempt to go legit by opening a restaurant ended in him beating a would be robber with a ketchup bottle, Buddy slipped back into his villainous persona and was ready to try to rob a bank when Rip recruited him onto the team. Why he chose somebody like this is a complete mystery, but if nothing else, he makes for a good distraction, and a great cook.
Notes
Legends of Tomorrow is my favorite Arrowverse show, despite its weak first two seasons. It really found its footing in Season 3, the direct opposite of its sister shows, Arrow and Flash. So, I just had to add the team to this AU. I changed a lot of the members though. Rip, Sara, Snart, and Rory from the first season are still around, and there's some shades of some canon members to be found with other members on this team (Warhawk in place of Carter or Kendra, Ted Kord in place of Ray, etc). Other members were complete asspulls, like Condiment King and Red Beetle.
The team changed quite a lot during production, mainly because I couldn't make up my mind on who all I wanted. Examples of cut members include alternate timeline vigilante dopplegangers of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Cassie Sandsmark, a female Barry Allen from this Earth's equivalent of Earth 11 (which I have recently began calling Earth 541), and Eugene Choi. I'm fairly satisfied with this final roster, but this isn't everyone who's going to be on the team. Treat these guys like they're the equivalent of the canon Legends Season 1 roster. Some will die, some will leave the team of their own accord, and some will stick around until the very end.

Earth 489: Nell Little
Penelope Joanne "Nell" Little is the daughter of Bryan Little and Lisa Little (née Thomas). Born in Gotham City, she was a bright and intelligent young girl trapped in a city full of darkness. And yet despite this, her hope and optimistic nature flourished, especially when after the supposed death of Batman, a new Batgirl with blonde hair, clad in black, purple, and yellow, rose to defend the city. Nell became Batgirl's biggest fan and supporter, and would eventually discover her secret identity: Stephanie Brown.
As Stephanie's previous identities were public knowledge, due to Black Mask leaking her identity online a few years prior, Nell knew her inspiration was previously known as Spoiler. Wanting to do what she could to help Batgirl, she donned the name for herself. But her first patrol was disastrous. As an untrained 11 year old girl attacking thugs twice her size and body weight, it was only thanks to Stephanie's intervention that Nell survived. While Steph wanted the younger girl to stay home and be safe, she knew she'd be a hypocrite if she did so. She took Nell under her wing, training her in everything should could and handing her off to others to cover areas she wasn't skilled in. After six months of rigorous training, and one upgraded suit later, the second Spoiler took to the streets.
Nell tenure as Spoiler was ultimately a short-lived one. After joining a new incarnation of Young Justice, led by Steph, Damian Wayne would be murdered by an aged up clone of himself created by his grandfather, Ra's al Ghul. At around the same time, Dick Grayson was severely injured while on patrol and would need another Nightwing to take his place. Stephanie left for Bludhaven to answer the call, leaving Nell with a Batgirl suit and a note saying "Good luck". Nell joined the Birds of Prey at the age of 12, training with and fighting alongside the likes of Black Canary, Huntress, Lady Blackhawk, and Starling.
Stephanie would eventually return to Gotham City, keeping the Nightwing name and joining the Birds of Prey. Nell, as Batgirl, would become a student and partner to her idol. But the day may come soon when Batgirl will fly solo once more.
Notes
Nell's mom's maiden name being Thomas is meant to be a reference to Duke Thomas, whom Nell is cousins with on 489. I couldn't find somewhere to reference that in her bio, so I'm saying it here.
Nell being Batgirl comes from that Black Mercy dream sequence Steph had during the finale of her Batgirl run. I figured Nell being Spoiler before that could be a nice segway into Batgirl, since A) the Batgirl legacy isn't up for grabs when she becomes a hero, B) Spoiler gives her a chance to grow as a hero and give her a stronger connection to her mentor, and C) Spoiler deserves to be a legacy title.
Minor note, but Nell's middle name comes from Jo Monez, Alysia Yeoh's girlfriend in main continuity. Since Alysia and Nell were dating in Bombshells, I thought it'd be a fun little reference.

Earth 489: Nora Allen
When another version of Barry Allen from a timeline where he was not The Flash showed up on Iris West's doorstep, it was like love rekindled. As Barry had no way back to his own timeline, and his own version of Iris (who was The Flash in his timeline) had sacrificed her life so long ago - much like the Barry native to this timeline - the two were drawn together, finally happy to have a second chance. And when Eobard Thawne threatened to destroy the very timeline, drastic measures had to be taken to ensure its survival. The Speed Force temporarily bequeathed Barry and Iris with super speed, allowing them to save the world alongside the rest of The Flash Family. Grateful to walk away alive once the crisis was over, the two celebrated after the battle.
When they woke up the next day, their speed was gone. They had figured it to be The Speed Force taking back the power it had given them, but the truth was much more drastic: their night of passion had resulted in pregnancy. Nine months later, Nora Caroline Allen was born.
Like all West Allen kids, Nora had super speed, a result of the leftover speed from that night funneling into her at the time of conception. Her family helped nurture her abilities, eventually leading to her becoming a superhero when she became of age. Having grown especially close to her nephew Bart while growing up, she decided to use a name he had previously used, becoming the second Cruise. She then joined the youngest generation of Titans at the age of 13, where she met Livy Queen, the daughter of Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance. The two are best friends to this day... but, if the future is any indication, that relationship will eventually evolve into something more.
Notes
Nora is based on Nora Allen from Justice League: Legacy and Nora West Allen from The Flash (2014). Like the Nora in Legacy, she uses the hero name of Cruise, but the rest of her comes from the Nora from the show. Her costume is also an amalgamation of the two costumes used by the Nora's (I'll work out the details of that later). She also has the ancestry of both versions of Nora. Nora in Legacy was the daughter of Jessica Cruz (and therefore half Latina), while Nora in the show was the daughter of Iris (and half black). The 489 version of Iris is half black, half Latina, meaning Nora is half Caucasian, 1/4th black, and 1/4th Latina.
Her middle name is derived from Carrie Allen, a version of Kid Flash from Superman & Batman: Generations. Her exact family was unknown, but given her last name and hair, it's a safe bet she was either the daughter or granddaughter of Barry and Iris. I initially wanted to include Carrie as a separate character, but I already had too many speedsters and finding a name for her would have been a pain in the ass.
As mentioned before, Cruise was used by Nora in Legacy. I decided it would work well as a name for Bart to use in the "current" timeline, since he and the rest of the Core Four are all using different aliases, in order for them to grow beyond the names they have been using since the 90's. That, and they all have successors. In Bart's case, that successor is Ace West, his cousin via his great uncle Daniel.

I'm sorry Avalance shippers, but Captain Canary holds a special place in my heart, so it's canon to this AU.
I even managed to scrounge up a kid for them, based on Ice Kate from the Teen Titans Go! comics.

I wanted to write a full thing about Kelly Olsen and about how she's the newest Guardian on Earth 489, but I realized that I have no goddamn idea how that legacy is actually going to go in this AU, or how she'll become Guardian yet (Jimmy's unconnected to the name).
Some other info, she was adopted into the Olsen family rather then being born into it, due to me deciding Jimmy is still a white redhead on this Earth. She's also still married to Alex Danvers, cause there's no point in adapting them if they aren't going to be married.

An at first unintentional, but still established part of 489 canon is that every time Steph changes identities, her hair gets shorter
Spoiler - super long hair done in a ponytail
Robin - slightly shorter, but still fairly long
Stray - shoulder length
Batgirl - the same haircut as Babs in Harley Quinn (2019)
Nightwing - pixie cut
Red Hood - even shorter pixie cut
Batwoman - the undercut she had in Future State

Well, Bart/Cissie and JayRose were originally gonna be endgame ships in this Earth, but I rediscovered my love for Bartrose, so now that's happening, Jay is with Artemis of Bana Mighdall, and Cissie is... well, I guess she's staying single, for now. I know Cissiecasse is a popular ship, but I'm too far deep into Cassie/Kon to break them up.

Earth 489: Supergirl Legacy Redux
Supergirl I - Kara Zor-El/Karen Starr: Kal-El's older paternal cousin, Kara was intended to arrive on Earth at the same time as Kal, but she was stranded in the Phantom Zone after Krypton's explosion knocked her rocket off course. Masquerading as Kal's cousin who was orphaned in a house fire - not entirely far from the truth, if one thinks about it - Kara would soon become the first Supergirl, and would later form the Titans alongside Dick Grayson, Wally West, Garth of Atlantis, Donna Troy, and Roy Harper. However, it didn't take long for Kara to want to distance herself from her now incredibly famous cousin. Altering her costume, removing her house symbol from the chest, and changing her name to Power Girl, Kara reinvented herself entirely. This extended towards her civilian identity, as "Karen Starr" would later found StarrWare Industries, a technological firm dedicated to saving the environment. Karen's attempts to reinvent herself have taken her to many strange places, including the 30th century, where she was a member of the Legion of Superheroes, and the not too distant past, where she and fellow time lost adventurer Huntress - not the same as the current, although Karen has stated that her name is also Helena - were members of the Justice Society.
Supergirl II - Cir-El/Mia Kent: The woman who would become Mia Kent was an unfortunate victim of a disease which rendered her brain dead. Noting her resemblance to Clark Kent and Lois Lane, the Brainiac of this time period kidnapped her and altered her DNA to include both their samples and to gift her Kryptonian abilities. Sending her back in time with false memories of being the daughter of Superman and his wife, Mia was intended to usher in a new era where Brainiac ruled supreme. But it didn't take long for Mia discovered the truth. The artificial Kryptonian sacrificed herself to prevent this terrible future from coming to be, taking Brainiac with her. This would be the last anyone would see of her, or this time period, until the time travelling Rip Hunter would discover her stranded in the time stream and return her to this timeline, where she is once again Supergirl.
Supergirl III - Kara In-Ze/Linda Lee Danvers: The half Daxamite cousin of Kara Zor-El via her mother - unrelated to Kal-El, mind you - Kara In-Ze was living on Daxam with her parents when Krypton exploded, knocking its neighboring planet out of orbit. In order to give her daughter a chance to live, Kara's mother used what remaining resources she could to build a rocket to send Kara out into space, at the cost of her life. This attempt ultimately paid off, and soon Kara found herself on Earth, where she would reunite with her now older cousin (funny how history seems to repeat). Operating as the next Supergirl, Kara would be adopted by the Danvers family, scientists Jeremiah and Eliza as her parents, DEO agent Alex as her older sister, and a baby brother named Wally. However, Kara's anger with what happened to her home planet and her biological parents flared, and she often clashed with her new family, as well as her teammates on the Titans and the second iteration of the Young Justice group. She soon found purpose, however, when she took on the mantle of Flamebird - one she shares with Bette Kane and Thara Ak-Var - and became partner to Stephanie Brown, when she took the name of Nightwing, and later Jason Tood when he did the same.
Supergirl IV - Keira Zor-El/Claire Starr: As mentioned earlier, history has a habit of repeating, and Claire's story in no exception. A clone created from the combined DNA of Kara Zor-El and Lena Luthor, "Claire Clarkson" was created by Ultraman to bolster the ranks of the Crime Syndicate, a villainous counterpart to the Justice League. Adopting the name of Ultragirl, it didn't take long for Claire to discover her true origins, or realize that what she and her "friends" were doing was wrong. Claire turned against the Crime Syndicate and, after confronting her creator and adoptive father, discovered her genetic origins. She in turn revealed this to Power Girl, who would take her in as an adoptive daughter, feeling responsible for her. Claire later joined the world of heroes as the fourth Supergirl, but never felt worthy of the name, and once Cir-El was refound, it didn't take long for her to abandon the name and assume the alternative of "Snowbird".

At least three versions of Stephanie that were intended to be alternate versions of her from different timelines ended up being rolled into the main 489 Stephanie. This, of course, has the side effect of her having at least 8 superhero identities, but you know what? She deserves it
