How did different characters know that the Yiling Laozu had been reincarnated!

Lan Wangji: Hears the song wangxian, which he only ever taught one person in the whole world (...although Lan Yuan must have heard it, if he could recognize it in the Mo Manor).

Jiang Chen: identifies a demonic cultivator with fear of dogs (it was the dog fear what sealed it, bc the first time he didn’t realize).

Lan Xichen: Oh, there's a guy who Wangji cares a lot about? Good, he's finally getting over Wei Wuxian, or... Oh. Oh, no. (The second time they meet he guesses because LWJ's been travelling with him for weeks?? Very sus!)

Xue Yang: Guy getting out of his ass an outstanding display of demonic cultivation? Wei-qiambei must have found a way to get back to life (XY’s the only one who’s expert enough in that to identify him by skill alone!)

Jin Guangyao et all: Easy mode: Subian was unsealed! The Yiling Laozu walks the Earth again! (panic)

Things that nope me right out of a fic:

- 1st person writing. I don’t know why I hate it so much. 

- 2nd person writing. I actually like it on occasion, but it’s so rarely well done I’d rather not risk it. This one’s better for original stories, not fanfic. Speaking of...

- y/n or [reader] fics. To me it’s very different from 2nd person writing bc the latter can (when done well!) craft a story by making you step into the shoes of a specific character, it’s almost like an exercise in empathy... Whereas the [reader] fics are generally written extremely generic and non-specific so they can fit with a broader array of readers. 

- ooc dialogue/action. change the time period and setting, make them cyborgs for all I care, but when the mannerisms of the characters are too far removed from the original you’re just writing your own different set of characters. Not for me.

I sincerely think it took him seeing daozhang kill himself to realize that...

3 years of “stagnant” happiness. not a challange, just a continuation of something beautiful.

look at how hurt he is when they have a  fight and xxc calls him disgusting, I don’t think they’ve had a single hiccup along these 3 years (which again, amazing chemistry! these two were MADE for each other!) TT-TT

Whenever I think about xuexiao, I always ponder over to which extent Xue Yang was aware of his own emotions. Did he even comprehend that he is capable of loving someone or has he been experiencing something wild without ever stopping to reflect on it? Whatever the answer is, I like to believe that there was a stage somewhere in first half of their domestic bliss, where Xue Yang was completely oblivious. He got to the point where he didn’t want to see Xiao Xingchen sad and always tried to cheer him up, but his sole reasoning behind it was “daozhang looks prettier when he smiles”. And yet the “prettiest” moment Xue Yang’s brain has registered was when he told a joke that made Xiao Xingchen laugh (with lots of wheezing and snorting) so hard he fell off the bench he was sitting on.
