Chosen undead who forgot themselves eventually, when the impact of swords and hammers and dragon teeth started blending into the hilt of their sword against their hands, the stones hitting their shoulders when squeezing through collapsed doorways, when fire blasted into their face became synonymous with the sunlight filtering in through the holes of their helmet. It was all the same... eventually. Eventually, they even stopped flinching when a blade was flying toward them. Eventually, they stopped leaning toward the sacred warmth of the bonfires. It would happen no matter: the sword would strike them, and the cold would continue to bite.

It is only when it does do they remember. Only when the sword nicks the metal of their gauntlet, barely passing steel, and yet bleeds. And all at once there is a... different... pain. A discomfort as they take another step and feel the way their bones rattle together, dry in some places, wet in others. The way dark, red-brown fluid seeps from new wounds just beneath their layers of cloth and fur, dribbling down their armament, down to their boots. A sort of panic falls with it, and they follow it to the ground, pulling at their armor to assess the "wound": but it pulls at their skin. Or what once was their skin. Now the coagulated, melted mass of bone and muscle fused to the innards of their steel.

A rising sound of fear, panic, pain, regret, maybe, begs to emerge from the depths of their despaired soul, but little other than a choked cry comes, as their vocal chords are one with their collar. And it still just feels the same. Perhaps, though, that is the most terrifying part.

My entire interest spawned a handful of weeks ago via parroting my partner as they play it - and we’ve been chattering nonstop about the game since seeing as the playthrough is still ongoing. :]

To be frank, every single fnv human sets in me a deep fear of the uncanny valley. Call it the Bethesda charm or anything of that matter, but it’s Something. In tandem with that, I think I speak for many people when I say that Ulysses in particular managed to get a generous amount of said uncanniness whilst being modeled and textured - a great injustice.

So. With that being said, why not redraw a portrait of his? Fun activity overall, allowed for some artistic freedom in the realm of headcanons and whatnot (thanking @roryrogue for those as well), and generally a decent skill-builder.

So it starts with said caretaker just hanging around wherever they usually sleep, then slowly transitions to whumpee falling asleep wherever caretaker is. Then eventually they're both comfortable with whumoee slumping against them on the couch to crash, crawling into their chair while they're working, or into bed with them at ungodly hours of the night.

The whumpee had been kept in a windowless cell for weeks, and after rescue the whumpee found that they couldn’t sleep at a regular time, going days without sleep then sleeping for days on end. The caretaker tried to help the whumpee as best they could, but the whumpee’s issues were ingrained at that point.

23: any emotions resented/hated to feel?

Big one. Harvey, as per most of the family, doesn't have an incredibly great grasp on feeling. But if there's anything he hates, it's the a seemingly random twinge of guilt that crops up when talking to some of them, failing small tasks for them, etc. He has no idea where it comes from, and the family is aware of it whatever he did to warrant feeling bad about it. No one wants to talk about it.

54: favorite possession, where they got it, why so attatched?

This thing. Completely unassuming cooking knife he usually has in his hoodie pocket; it's the one thing the family doesn't want to touch. Which is weird... they're not afraid of it, but seen repulsed by it.

He doesn't remember where he got it. There's a good few in the kitchen that look pretty similar. It feels safe, is all, there's nothing particularly special about it beyond that.

55: favorite weather?

You know when the sun is out, but muffled by an overcast sky? Yeah. That's always nice. Bonus for wind.
