I have terrible, horrible taste.. but God, I love them~

Long ago, I listed my top Animated Villain loves as Frollo, Rasputin, Hades, Facilier, Jafar, and Tzekel-Khan. ... I don't know WHAT possessed me to only choose 6 (4 Disney + 2 not-Disney), especially cuz around that time of my budding adulthood, the top # lists I made were always 7.

Well! I can rectify this. To complete the 7, I'll add in ❤️‍🔥 The Horned King. (Yes, I do enjoy Clayton and Ratigan, but they're not my top 7. Top 10, perhaps.)

(EDIT: Oh God! I almost forgot the Toon Patrol! ^^ Well, I love Psycho (and Smarty a bit))

Now, thanks to newer titles, I also have 3D Disney villains to love 😜 and boy do I. Those Top 7 would be Tamatoa, Oogie Boogie, King Candy, Hans, Johnny Worthington, The Bowler Hat Guy Goob... and I have a soft spot for Hopper 🫶

I reiterate-- I have TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE taste. But God help me I love them so~ I will rise and admit it.

Once again sharing a Quotev fanfic! 💞🤤💞

🥰 Now, see, Lovesick Wally was not necessarily my top Welcome Home AU-- maybe in my top 10, based on a Quotev series of quizzes about all the AU's-- but in my search of "x reader" fics to read-- (yes, while at work 😅 again)-- I came across this story, and I must say; he's definitely now in my Top 5 💕

(Fanfic by Chaotic Doll / AU by Halohelene)

Three chapters, written well, and so much build up. 😅 Honestly, my only gripe is: Tumblr spoiled me~ By that I mean, the fic stops (or it's still in progress) just before things can get.. *ahem*.. 😘 interesting. Most Quotev fics do, really~ 😮‍💨 ... ☝️😊 But fret not! It's still really good, and no other Lovesick Wally fic (on Quotev or Tumblr) gets me like this one does. (And this author also makes some good FNAF x reader stories too.) Worth a read 🥰 give it a try~

This "x reader" story turned out *awesome*. ♥️

I thought I wouldn't find another good x reader story in Quotev after reading that Male!Ursula one, but here we go.

I swear, this got my heart beating hard 💓

XD And I read it at work!

👑 Looking at this art, I suppose it's the right image, just needs to be a bit more meaty, as it's supposed to be based on the animated Queen. I was imagining something between the sliding scale of Brom Bones & Cinderella's Prince Charming, and this pic fits that. Not that I'm into beefy type guys. 💪🏻 Not at all~ 😅 But this fic had me go there, and I don't regret it.

(Only flaw is I wish there was more of it on Tumblr; why'd you think I went looking for it in Quotev??).

What's my scenario?

Well, I competed, wholeheartedly, in my office's Halloween costume contest this year... and I lost.

This. I was Withered Chica. How did this lose? Against a girl in a black lolita dress with platforms and a white mask with blood tears? Against an OC??

So, any comfort scenarios you can link me to? Or, if you're bolder, could someone write my scenario?

(warning; a bit whiny, which I try not to do, sorry)

I'm known by most as being a sweet, reserved, and devout worker; but also with a reputation for going all-out on dress-up days. Especially for Halloween. 🎃 I have for years.

Like always, I stayed up late and worked for weeks on my costume; compiling clothes & props and painting into the midnight hours. Was hard work, but it's always worth it when I step into my building and everyone flinches. My colleagues said I was a shoo-in to win Scariest Costume. In the office & out in the parade, I walked robotically everywhere. I had a sound box tucked away so I could make her groans & jumpscare noises. And mind you, I live in Florida! ☀️ I did all this, without eating anything after a light breakfast, and barely sipping any water through my under-mask's mouth slots. (Yes I had a 2nd mask on, of Nightmare Chica, for its second row of teeth!) But I didn't complain about it. I relished in it~

It's a personal thrill of mine. Performing in costume, either using my hip-long hair or hiding it in a net, especially to scare. ^^ I scare because I care, lol. (Monsters Inc/University scenarios are great too)

This time, I thought I had it in the bag. For years, the judges wouldn't choose me because my costumes, while very scary to my coworkers, were too obscure for the judges. I thought, surely, Chica would be scary *and* recognizable. And some of them did know what I was from. But alas~ 💔

I went back to my office desk sad, tearing up behind my mask. No one in my office has ever seen me cry, and thanks to my double mask, no one would. Several of them gave me sympathies, which I appreciated, but I kept my thanks short. I'm the nice level-headed trainer, and yes, there have been close moments before, but they couldn't see me like this. It was foolish to cry, I know, but I was hurt, and I never make a fuss or ask for anything. I just wanted.. Thankfully, everyone was excused to leave work early if they wished. So, I took my time peeling off my costume in the restroom as most everyone left. To the few left behind, I tried to excuse my flushed face and shiny eyes on the 1pm high hot sun. I stuck around just a little more, to finish a job. A half hour later, I was the 2nd to last one out. Drove home, listening to my Toon Patrol & The Duke playlists. Once home, I got myself a poké dinner, chugged bottles of water, took a pill for my aching head, and retired for a nap. X3 Imagining comfort scenarios, and passed out in minutes.

So, after all that, if I could be linked to a comfort fic for my situation, 😌 it would be much appreciated. Yes, I'm feeling better, but it'd still be nice, ya know? 👏 And I do enjoy reading new x reader scenarios.

For about the past month of my adult life, I've been working on getting a place of my own.

Also for the past month, I've been spending my free time writing self-insert fics and reading x readers.

XD Completely normal.

What I've been working on:

• An Ennard x self story (possibly 3 chapters, 2 of them 18+, 1 of them FTFreddy x self)

• A Toon Patrol x OC collection of stories (Yes, there's a weasel I'm more for, but it starts out kinda ambiguous. Ah, & yes, a few 18+ chapters/oneshots)

• A Weasel quickie comic (😁 Just sketching out a curious & funny thought I had)

• A Weasel AMV (I kid you not; I make musical playlists for my fictional crushes, and one song just wouldn't quit. So I had to!)

• Touching back on old fics (Skeksis x OC, Simpsons x OC, The Duke x OC, etc & etc.)

• Also I've been tapping back into my love for some Looney Tunes characters and the Nerdlucks/Monstars. But man, is it hard to find x reader's for them! Do I have to write my own for all of them??

dear non-spanish speakers writing spiderverse fanfiction (or anything with spanglish),

in spanglish you don’t switch by word, you switch by phrase.

it’s not:

“[first part of the sentence in english], [second part of the sentence in english], mi amor.”

“[full english sentence], querida.”

it’s:

“[first part of the sentence in english], [segunda parte de la frase en español], mi amor.”

also miles is boricua, miguel is mexican. they have two different accents and use different vocabulary for certain words.

also miles is “nyourican” - a puerto rican native to new york - while his mom is directly from the island, so there are differences there, too, because his spanish is more influence by new york english. 

here’s some good references that aren’t google translate (which usually pulls from spain, a country that speaks vastly differently from latin america)

in spanish most words are gendered, so most feminine words end in a and masculine/gender neutral words end in o. adding ito/ita makes something cuter, smaller and more affectionate.

spanish nicknames that aren’t “mi amor”

“querido/a” - darling

“cariño” - dear (always masculine regardless, of who its being said to)

“mi princesa/príncipe” - my prince/princess

“mi rey/reina” - my king/queen

“papí/mamí” - can be used in any way; romantic, sexual, familial for one’s parent or child, or just platonically

“tesoro” - treasure

also spanish is a language that uses adjectives as terms of affection both cute ones and ones that might sound insensitive in english

gordo (fat), flaco (skinny), negro (black), blanco (white), linda (pretty), bella (beautiful), morena (brown skin), etc.

and like most languages that are not english, spanish has multiple ways of saying i love you.

“te amo” - romantic

“te quiero” - familial, platonic (although there’s nothing wrong with using it romantically)

please use this because i have read a lot of really well written things that take me out of it because the use of spanglish is terrible. don’t just go on your presumptions that spanish/spanglish works in the same way that english does.

With Lackadaisy gaining notice and a wave of fans new to its webcomic world, bringing out the longtime fans as well-- I wish too that I could find Tanglefoot fans around me. Haven't found any longtimers, yet. BUT! Whenever someone brings up Lackadaisy to me, I share in their enjoyment, of course, but then turn their attention to another webcomic of similar era and creatively gorgeous style: "Tanglefoot". I will make fans of them yet~

After all, those two creations go back, and both deserve our artistic admiration ~

I felt a little embarrassed subjecting Freckle and Miss Ivy to my blotchy linework and drab, flat coloring, especially considering the kind of Delacroix-meets-film-noir treatment to which they are accustomed, so I hope they didn’t mind slumming it for a while.

These two fine felines belong, of course, to the marvelous Tracy J. Butler.

Last week, I was working on my 3D printer. Last night, I tabletop gamed with friends on Discord, and played “Don’t Starve” on Steam til midnight. This morning, I was troubleshooting my Xbox One. I’ve been playing Star Wars Heroes on my phone, and an hour ago, I was a mod for a premiering reaction video to a Harry Potter movie. And tonight! I intend to play on my Switch tonight some “Don’t Starve Together”.

I can’t help myself. I’m an artist. I’m a gamer. And I just love what I love.

What was supposed to be a funny/cute doodled 2-panel comic turned into a sweet sketch showing what I really wanted to do-- have me some cuddle time with The Duke.

Why does my creativity have to flow at night? XD It was a work night for goodness sake~

How The Duke can match your Love Language

Words of Affirmation: The Duke is well-spoken, and is so charming that showering you with sweet somethings will come easy. Just remember, he can be a bit playful and troll-y, but it’s usually hidden advice. Whether comforting or encouraging, I imagine he would say all the right things, and exactly what you need to hear~

Acts of Service: He’s a merchant; his job is to serve. Sure, the Duke might have his own agenda, but he is plenty servile and helpful. Stocking needed items, marking a map, cooking food, and offering a ride; he aided Ethan in these ways. Imagine how much more he’d help you, his love? ;3 And he’s confident he can provide. (Sorry-- this is my language, and when he said that line he won my heart <3)

Receiving Gifts: I wonder about this, since the Duke sells, not gives... Maybe that’s only when his shop’s open. Off the clock, I think he’d be plenty charitable. Not only that, The Duke knows quality. He enjoys fine things, like cigars, rings, crystals, a good book, waistcoats, and making coin. As a merchant, he’s surely traded special items. Imagine what treasures he could give you~

Quality Time: Ethan can tell you; the Duke always seems to be around when you need him. You may not know how, but he’s there. And he’s content to stay with you so long as you stay with him, whether in a cart or in a room. Candlelit & classy, or steely & musty. And if either of you would like to skip town, I imagine he wouldn’t mind sharing a ride with you ^w^ (Cart trip!)

Physical Touch: Ah, yes. While we don’t get to see Duke interact with anyone that way, I can’t help but imagine... For one thing, he looks like he’d be great for cuddles. Big ol’ tums and those big arms; if you need hugs, he could give ‘em. And those cushy hands! Don’t forget; he said his fingers were dexterous. I get the feeling he could give wonderful backrubs~ o>w<o

What do you guys think? Agree? Have better examples? (Do you know your love language?) ^w^ Go and imagine Duke speaking your language to your heart’s content. After all: anything you want, the Duke can provide~

Any time I hear a YouTuber call my Duke anything mean, I get sooo protective. God save me, I can’t help it. (Bonus: I like to imagine a second panel to this where we fall. Not being mean-- ^w^ just being realistic. I find it endearing, in a funny way.)
