No cause literally. And abled people think they know what it is and think you’re just saying you’re temporarily tired. My dad, who dated someone with chronic fatigue once insisted when I brought it up that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that it was serious and I shouldn’t joke about that. And in the same breath tells me to take shorter naps or try not to nap everyday and that it’s bad for me and asks why I’m in a worse mood if I haven’t been able to nap that day.

How the fuck am I supposed to explain chronic fatigue to someone??? Like I need at least one nap a day to even kind of function in addition to going to sleep earlier than most people might. I am constantly exhausted, I wake up exhausted and I end the day absolutely drained and then I’m expected to do it all again the next day. How the fuck do I explain that sometimes even doing nothing is exhausting? How do I explain that I can’t do things sometimes because I’m so far past tired that I’m essentially not functioning? How do I explain to someone who says they get exhausted but can still function when they’re at that point that my exhausted is completely and utterly different?

It’s April 1st! To most people, that’s just April fools day, which can super duper suck cause a lot of people assume it means they can forego every boundary to pull a “silly prank” that could affect someone’s mental or physical health for a while afterwards.

For me though, it’s also my twin cats’ birthday(s)!! They turn 14 this year and one of them (orange man) has been in end stage kidney failure for 7 months now and we did not expect him to make it this far, he’s a huge trooper and he’s gonna get a ton of affection for making it here!

I want to tuck myself into a blanket made of the sea as the current continues within the water but does not splash me; like a rippling bed of leaves in the wind. I wish for it to carry fish to watch over me and glow with the bioluminescence of the microorganism colonies.

It will be cold at first, like most beds are, before warming to my body and its own. It will tuck me in and hold me in homogeny.

The sharks will look on in envy before the sea encompasses them too, and we sleep together sandwiched between the sand and the stars.

Like every morning, getting up will be an excruciating battle against the desire to stay in comfort and shelter.

But unlike every other morning; the night prior I will have performed an act defying physics itself beside the beasts of the ocean, who now sleep by my side like the pups they once were. And because I am at the beach, and I have earned it, I will sleep until the crowds arrive.

Taking this time to add on that yeah while the hungry thing is natural, kids are just kinda unaware of consequences and teenagers think they’re god. Had my 8th grade science teacher quit twice because she had multiple mental break downs. Shes only still here cause they could not afford to replace her in the middle of the year.

Incidents why she quit and the third “I hate my life and job” incident

1. Kid drank methylene blue when she left the room for two seconds before class started. Comes in, tells people not to touch it and definitely not to eat it and this kid just opens his mouth and it’s full fucking blue. Panic attack ensues as she calls 911, and quits for the first time and the principal comes in to beg her to stay

2. She explicitly says not to touch the dry ice with your bare hands. Finds a kid juggling it and trying to eat it five minutes later. Starts yelling at him (reasonably) and sends him to go get checked by the nurse and then to the principal to get dealt with.

3. (Big ableism/mocking disability tw) She explains how oobleck works and lets us play around with it a little. The popular kids pretend to have Tourette’s and throw it all around the room, including in the carpet, and blame it on their “tics”. At this point she is so incredibly tired she’s ready to quit and just leaves the room.

Reminder that all of these kids were at least 14 and one of them was 16 cause he’d been held back. The 16 year old, THE ONE WHO COULD DRIVE, is the one who drank the methylene blue on a dare.
