"isn't it lovely"

Okay idk I wanted to write something a little less....sad compared to my atsumu fic. I thought I'd write something wholesome for the best boy akaashi. Enjoy!

You could describe your boyfriend keiji in many words, but the first that comes to mind would be 'lovely'. When he would wake up earlier to make you both breakfast or when he would make sure he washed your favourite hoodie of his to wear after you finished work. In so many ways he was lovely.

Keiji was a calm man. Not letting much bother him, and having grown up around Bokuto, he was a natural. You two both met at College, and despite having different career aspirations you immediately felt bonded to one another. The perfect fit. The pair of you connected over your love of muted colours and autumnal afternoons. Snuggling up after long days with a warm woollen blanket and two cups of jasmine tea, life could be so lovely.

You had just finished your last class of the week and had finally made it back home to your shared apartment with your boyfriend. The chilly winds outside left your face dusted with slight pink hues as you hurried inside, promptly shutting the door behind you. Warm air engulfed you as soon as you walked in and you quickly hung up your scarf and jacket while walking into the kitchen. Scents of cinammon and ginger filled the air as you noticed your favourite candle that was lit on the counter. You smiled softly, knowing your lovely keiji had made sure you would feel better as soon as you stepped inside.

"Y/N, you're home" - Keiji was over on the plush sofa and wrapped up in that woollen blanket that had been tampering with your thoughts all day. He looked perfect, clad in a cream coloured sweater that you purchased for him for his birthday that recently passed. He moved to get up, tossing the blanket over and placing the novel he was reading on the table. Before you knew it he had engulfed you in a soft hug, gently caressing your hair. "How was class?" he murmured gently.

"Not bad, but I'm glad to be back home with you". You peered up at him through your lashes, taking him in. You often pondered how you got so lucky with Keiji and what you did to deserve someone like him. Releasing you from his grip, he softly smiled at you and grabbed your face tenderly, placing a delicate kiss on your lips. Smiling back up at him, you intertwined your hands with his slightly larger ones.

"Let's go lay down, love".

Yeah, your Keiji was many things but when it came down to it, he was simply lovely.

Are pretty calm and relaxed drivers who can easily focus on the road with no distractions:

You were tired. Tired of the same routine everyday. Tired of the same job. Tired of pretending like everything was okay. But most of all, you were tired of being nothing but a shadow in your boyfriends life. Miya Atsumu. Famous volleyball player to the MSBY Black Jackals and one of the best setters in the country. You were proud beyond words, always in his corner to cheer him on. The two of you have been together since High School, and being able to watch him grow and transform into the athlete he is today is nothing short of breath-taking. But enough was enough and you could only go on for so much longer before you broke. You were lucky if you both said anything more than 'good morning' and 'good night' to each other. The pair of you two knew it was over but neither one wanted to admit it, too afraid of what the repercussions would be.

It was grey outside. Not the cosy kind of grey where you could wrap yourself up in a blanket and a warm cup of tea and lock out the world, but the kind of grey that just draped the sky, lingering. Looking out of the window of your apartment, you barely noticed the salty tears running down your cheeks, and slowly, they turned into sobs. Trying to mask them, you slammed your hand over your mouth to choke them back. But it was too late. Stood in the hallway was Atsumu clutching onto his gym bag. You were still looking out onto the city, unaware of his presence. Looking down sheepishly, he knew. He knew he had lost you, to the fault of his own. His drive for success had obliterated your relationship.

And he knew he was to blame.

But for five more minutes, he wanted to pretend you were still his. Before he knew he would have to let you go, forever.
