Why I really enjoy Tokyo Ghoul and say that the manga is worth buying;
To a beginning I watched it as a 12 year old kid who barely understood what was talked about during the conversations within the CCG. I’ve watched and read it multiple times after that. While reading it just now, realised why I really do enjoy it.
Characters
Each character has a strong personality and a backstory that makes the action of them reasonable. Don’t look at the charcters without acknowledge their past and situation.
Purpose for acting
Why are they even fighting to begin with? It could be answered with a simple and boring “They don’t like each other.” which is not an incorrect answer but a better answer and a better to look at it would be “Both sides are fighting for their right to existence.”
Focus
The main focus isn’t to learn everything about all kague types, quinques organisations, or even ranks within the CCG. Yes, it’s easier to keep track of everything when you know all that but if that’s your main focus there are other ways to understand and enjoy the story. The mindset is to understand the acts of the characters, understading their emotions and inner conflicts. Reflect over why Kaneki seems to be a whole different person in volume one and fourteen.
Character development
It exists and it’s great. It’s not really about characters changing their points of views and sides, it’s more like finding reasons and accepting. Kaneki for example, he realises who he is and the reasons behind his acts. Touka on the other hand, accept her feelings and let others see them.
Setting/mood
It’s not a happy story. It’s as mentioned above, two different spieces fighting just to make sure they have the right to exist. The overall mood is pure sadness, despair and desperation.
Concept
A regular student with not much in his life, one really close friends, no parents, but he’s living and he seems to be fine. He tries something new out, in this case dating. His date ends up trying to kill him and he ends up a ghoul. A new world, and he can’t exist in-between the two because of the way the two spieces are fighting for their right to live. How would a hybrid ever be accepted? The student is forced to accept his new life and ends up working so hard, just to be able to save others. The little student with a small life ended up becoming his monster in the view of humans and in his head he needs to fight for others in his new life because he once went on a date. There’s nothing beautiful with this, it’s just as the real world. Cruel, where everyone is fighting for a right to live.
This is all my feelings and opinions. Some people might think I’m crazy, but this is a few of the main reasons I really enjoy Tokyo Ghoul as a whole. Sure it’s confusing at some times and the anime is hard to understand, but the manga is great and I really like the concept.

Inktober Day 5: Build(ing Friendship)
This joke isn’t mine actually, I lost the tumblr post a long time ago 😭😭😭😭 if someone could find it for me that would be helpful…
What is mine, though, was the fact that in school the person I was crushing on so much was set up as my lab partner. That entire year I pretended they didn’t exist 😰😰😰 LOL safe to say cause I never confessed anyway 😪😪😪
