"He needed to tell her...what? That she was lovely and brave and better than anything he deserved. That he was twisted, crooked, wrong, but not so broken that he couldn't pull himself together into some semblance of a man for her. That without meaning to, he'd begun to lean on her, to look for her, to need her near."
Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)

Dear book gods it's beautiful! Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale. Brigid Kremmerer's A Curse So Dark and Lonely is on my TBR and once I finish all my current library books, it's the next one to be read.

Tell me about your dream library 📚
I’ve always wanted the library from Beauty and the Beast. Thousands of books, massive staircases with multiple floors of books, little tables and couches and nooks for reading, THE DREAM 😍
When @FairyLoot announced that they were doing an entire box themed around Beauty and the Beast I MAY have freaked out a little bit 😅 I absolutely adored the February BEAST & BEAUTY box and am so excited to share it with y'all today! I swear, FairyLoot just gets better and better with every box and now I’m eagerly awaiting the March anniversary box!
Click here to check out what all was included in the box as well as all the shops and artists featured!

Gorgeous HP aesthetic (that Hagrid pop is on my wishlist). I love the illustrated versions but they're so expensive.

More book series to add to the TBR list. I'm never, ever, going to run out of things to read - only the time to do so!
Tumblr media
Yesterday, 3 of my most anticipated sequel releases of the year came out, all on the same day!
The City of Brass was one of my top 10 reads of 2017 and I highly recommend the series as a whole because I KNOW The Kingdom of Copper is going to be spectacular. Last year, I absolutely adored Reign the Earth and I read Imprison the Sky or earlier this month and it’s even better than the first book! And I’ve talked about Reign of the Fallen before and now we have the sequel!
January has had a lot of releases from authors that I know and love. And if this month is any indication of how the rest of the year is going to go for books, I don’t know if I’m going to survive the year 😂
What’s your most anticipated 2019 release?

Non-Fiction Book Recs
Tumblr media
Goodreads I have to admit, I love a good non-fiction book as much as I love good fictional ones. Sometimes though, they're hard to find as I'm not huge on biographys/autobiographys, but love vet and doctor stories from their careers. However one non-fic author whose books are a guaranteed must read for me is Mary Roach. She tackles whatever subject she's taking on in a humourous but sincerely respectful manner, all the while poking fun at herself and humans in general. The foot notes are often hilarious and cheeky. She's not afraid to ask the questions that we woudl want to ask in a similar situation but prehaps would not be able to bring ourselves to actually ask for fear of sounding ignorant or of offending someone. Mary approaches her interviewees with warmth and genuine interest, even if she's talking fly poop. Unlike some of her others, Grunt is a little bit disjointed in terms of there not always being a particularly binding segue between chapters (or items of interest) but it's certainly very interesting nonetheless. It may not be the book for you, but I would certainly suggest giving any of her books a try.

Beat The Backlist Challenge 2019
Okay, I'm back. I've dusted off the cobwebs and I am hoping to be somewhat more productive both here and on the main site this year. I am going to be participating in the Beat The Backlist challenge hosted by the lovely novelkight to get things started as 90% of my TBR list qualifies for this challenge.
The first 3 books I am aiming to read for this challenge are: - The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton - The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton - The Apocathary's Daughter by Charlotte Betts
I will put an official BTB booklist post up on the Blog later today. (Edit: it’s there now. Check the top navigation bar for the permalink.)
