The lil boy now has some prototype horns. The finals will be done in black crochet thread so it was easier to try and pattern them up with a much larger yarn, and then adapt the patterns to the smaller weight. Took me weeks to get the shape just right but I'm happy with them. He also has lil ears now.

I haven't posted anything here in an eternity lmao but here's the Rolan plushie I'm working on. Trying to make my own pattern so it's definitely slow going. If I ever finish the damn thing I'll post the pattern up, been trying to write it out so it makes sense as much as possible but I'm a chaotic crocheter and don't always do stuff "correctly" when it comes to making weird shapes on plush, so I may need to suck it up and take some photos.

I've got a couple different yarns for his skin tone and can't figure out which I like better so I might just make one in each. Currently working on the horns, and by that I mean crocheting them over and over again and getting angry that I can't get the shape the way I want

My first digital art completed! :’) I feel like using the tablet is less awkward than I originally assumed it would be but it also still feels difficult to get the lines to go as exactly as I want them to go and am used to with traditional art. Still trying to chicken out of @ Sota on Twitter so he can see it for himself even though I’ll probably suck it up and do it anyways :’)))

The first version is based more on the actual clothes they wore in the photoshoot I found that looked the closest to the Pop’n Music artwork while the second is more closely based on the Pop’n art with the more open shirt for Sota and full blown missing shirt for Yoshitaka. Couldn’t decide which I liked better so here we are.

welp...got a PC and a drawing tablet, so now gotta learn how to do all the technology evidently because i’m sitting here on non-mobile tumblr sweating at all the options it’s giving me in any case, here’s a picture i started working on mainly to get a feel for the tablet which turned into way more of a serious project than i originally intended, it’s basically done linework wise and now i have to figure out how to color digitally which should be an adventure it’s Venus from Pop’n Music, but more closely based on the actual photos of DJ YOSHITAKA and Sota Fujimori I was able to find from their shoot in their Venus outfits, hence Yoshitaka having a watch instead of a wristband etc the keytar is some unholy conglomeration of a random Yamaha keytar i found on google with the Pop’n Music artwork. wish me luck on coloring y’all.

hey I've been playing through Neopets: The Darkest Faerie again recently and as it's one of my favorite games I've always wanted to draw the characters, but could never pull off Tor very well because I just didn't draw doggos so I never ended up able to even get through drawing his face. but this time I picked up the pencil and spit this out wtf, was so excited that I ended up doing sort of a digitigrade practice dump of him as well because I want to draw a lot more of him. Roberta I need to evidently get back to practicing the female figure because I've fallen out of practice with it (or simply that I've become so much better the male figure recently that I am now unable to stand how I draw women because it's been surpassed) wow I need to get my anxious shit together and just try out one of the two tablets I've obtained but technology orz

I drew this picture of a character I made that i haven’t drawn in years and decided to share some older versions of him from back in the days.

It kinda gives me chills to look at how he turned out in the newer image because he’s probably the character the most close to my heart, a case of an OC that was standalone, meant to be his own character, and at the time something of a representation of myself although I couldn’t put my finger on why. He was originally a dragon and as he changed and evolved with my own mind, eventually got wrapped up in a universe in which he ended up plopped into an Equestria Girls-style parallel world switch in which he became human like in appearance, although retaining many dragon like features in the process (my reasoning for this was also strangely similar to how Equestria Girls seemed to handle it in that the way that physics work in the other world didn’t quite match up the same way and in order for his body to physically exist it was manifested into the way it looks, appearing humanoid as in our universe humans are similarly complex creatures as to the dragons of his world).

Wow. Anyway, this basic concept has always intrigued me and is more the reason why I’m constantly fascinated by human versions of non human characters than the actual design aspect itself, although that does appeal to me as well.

My reason for deciding to pick him back up again actually came from watching the Equestria Girls movies again and remembering my love for that style of universe and storytelling, and I suddenly felt inspired to try drawing him again. To be perfectly honest, being a comic and freelance artist was my absolute dream when I was younger and I think that dream never died, even though in the last few years of struggling emotionally and mentally it certainly felt like it had.

Because of the impact this has for me, I wanted to share the older tries, the older drawings that didn’t quite feel right to me, the ones that were solid stepping stones on my way to where I’m at now and illustrate that I’ll continue to change in the future. I wanted to share drawings that are even truly embarrassing to me nowadays to maybe continue to inspire people, that you never know where you’ll end up, and that it’s never too late to try picking the pencil back up again.
