I think possibly the most autistic thing I’ve done is when I was tasked with giving a speech about a topic I was interested in, I ended up writing a 3 page essay on the Gypsy Rose Blanchard story and recited it to my class.

The teachers were expecting me to talk about my struggles or climate change or something like that — but I rocked up with almost no sleep, an energy drink in hand and 3 pages of a true crime story. I also forgot to censor the details, it was a raw and unedited essay that I wrote at 3 am after using 3 different documents on Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

The questions after were supposed to last about a minute or two but I ended up talking for 20 more minutes because u just knew too much info.

How the hell did no one look at me and ask me if I had a little something something???

it turns out that I have been bullied my entire life, every time i get to a new school/learning environment (clubs n shit) at least one person bullies me. the thing is, i never notice until someone else points it out to me.

for example, when i was in primary school, year 4 to be specific, people would call me mean names about my appearance but i just thought “ah, these people aren’t mean, these are just observational people!”

my older sister (also neurodivergent) has/had the same issue, but we’re both just generally stupid so i don’t know if this is a universal experience or not.

one thing about me is I get into the fandom before I watch a show, I have no clue why but I just do.

Naturally, I learn a lot of spoilers etc for the show. one main issue is that I learn about headcanons and fanon.

now, sometimes something is so widely accepted as fanon that most people just post about it without saying that it’s fanon. which is fine, cuz, you know, if you watch the show you know it’s not true.

now, because of this, when I was starting to get into MHA. i obviously got into the fandom beforehand. and, naturally I learned a lot of things, mostly untrue.

3 of those untrue things were as follows.

1. EraserMic is 100% canon, without a doubt, don’t question it.

2. All for One is Izuku’s dad, and the whole “moved to America” is a cover up story that Inko made up to protect Izuku.

3. Hitoshi joins 1-A a few days after the sports festival.

Imagine my shock when NONE of these undisputed facts are true at all. I genuinely cried out of confusion and despair.

I still haven’t learned my lesson of , you know, watching the show before getting into the fandom. But now I’m a little more cautious of what to believe
