#platformyabookclub gave us #oneofusislying to read for #weekone and it got me hooked on @writerkmc writing style that I had to throw myself into another! Two can keep a secret is a crime thriller type of YA mystery book that had me in its grasp from the first chapter. I really enjoy how Karen M McManus uses a Point Of View style narration which switches between the two main characters and gives both of their views. I also love that although it’s all about the mystery of who the killer, there is a love story sidelining (no spoilers✌️) I really enjoy Karen M McManus’s books and i have added #oneofusisnext and #thecousins to my #tobereadlist effective and immediately!
Thank you penguin platform for showing me this amazing author!

If you had the chance to be popular, funny and loveable from one injection, would you do it?
This is a sci-fi thriller based on gene therapy and changing the genome structure in DNA to make people more ‘charismatic’. Jeanne Ryan has written a book that is current with the stages of gene therapy and although the story is what happens when things go wrong, she still promotes the good it does with genetic diseases. However, it is a balanced book and I highly recommend to people who like biological mysteries.
A case to solve with a killer who is already inside.

I was almost as pumped with adrenaline as Britt was, running through the Wyoming mountains. Although I have never been near Wyoming in my life I was suddenly there, I could picture every tree, animal and ranger station. Becca Fitzpatrick is a fantastic writer who not only pulls out all the plot twists humanly possible but also describes the world so much that your heart races in your ears and you felt like you’ve run away from your own attacker. Recommend to people who love Thrillers!

What an amazing trilogy of books! Jenny Han captured me in the heart of Lara Jean and her world of love letters. It also had a loving end, not too cliché or over done, just a satisfying, happy end to a wonderful story. I must say I didn’t really want to finish the final book, I was too engrossed in the story to want to stop.
I recommend to any YA reader really, I think it is one of those beautiful books that allows you to entirely escape reality because it is so real and teenage- life like, but especially teen romance readers.

A true page turning master piece. This book has given me such a roller coaster of emotions over the past couple days whilst reading it between the Most obvious yet completely unexpected high school couple to the mystery of Simon. The crime thriller side of the book is enough to keep you intrigued but added with the POV style narrative and the character development and on going relationships really immerse you within the world of Bayview. I must admit I hadn’t a clue who killed Simon at first and my one suspect turned out to be wrong (not spoiling) but then it all started to make sense like someone hit a light switch and everything was revealed. My favourite character has to be Bronwyn between her hopelessness in emotional situations and unwavering loyalty combined with her top class Intelligence, she’s someone I’d want to be friends with on a daily basis. On the other hand though I love how Addy became her own person like a butterfly trapped in its cacoon finally flying free with purple wings. The bonds and relationships have a real feel to it as well, for example between the pair of sisters I feel as though there are some parts I can relate to with my own sister.

The wrong train by Jeremy de Quidt is a really gripping, heart racing thriller borderline horror.
The creative storyline of shorter stories Incorporated into one big one makes the whole book more eerie as the little bits that you think are irrelevant suddenly have a meaning.
A very cleverly written book and I recommend to anyone who likes to get their heart racing...but choose wisely. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a book! I wasn’t sure at first because I am not really a romance reader but I couldn’t put it down. The beauty of Nicola Yoon writing is that it feels like you are a fly on the wall in the life of Daniel and Natasha, you can envisage everything that happens even down to the details of the eyes or the skyline from the rooftop. It isn’t all that of a cliche love story either which I was worried about but explains the effect of every person in someone’s normal day and how little acts can make the world of difference. Even as simple as a “thank you” message. The message of the book is brilliant in its own accord and I believe it is something we should all be more aware of and better at. Adding in the story line and the Characters and also racial stances and parental influence makes this book a must read for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can tell you now, there is nothing sweet about this book (in a good way). It is a well hidden mystery of who the identity of sweetfreak is right up until the end and even then the ending is completely unexpected and different from what I imagined. Not only is it a mystery, cyber-crime book but also has a hint of romance which really brings depth to the characters. Sophie McKenzie really got across the message that you find out who your friends are in a crisis and they are often the people you least expect, like a runaway boy with a colour for a name.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend to anyone who loves a good crime to solve! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Harrow Lake.
I must say I don’t usually like horror/thriller books but Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis is truly something else.
You really feel immersed in the time-stuck town of Harrow lake with Lola Nox as you follow her story into the truth. It is truly optimal.
I recommend this to anyone who loves a bit of a thrill and many twists, turns and surprises along the way and the ending not exactly as you imagine.
Kat Ellis is a truly amazing writer with the ability to transport you in to her world so far you can hear the jitterbugs chattering in warning and the pinprick eyes of mister jitters.
I questioned her on the ending( I will not spoil anything) but like any true author left it to my thought.
I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did, Kat Ellis you did a fantastic job! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A society that controls everything for “optimal results” in life, where there is just enough you don’t want more. And yet the amazing story of Cassia and Ky goes completely against everything they have been taught is right. Just because they want more, because they want a choice. A Far in the future Romeo and Juliet, this book shows the love story of two unlikely teens. Ally Condie created this world where everything is perfect and no one asked questions, the detail is so well done , you can imagine the borough and city hall. Truly amazing and highly recommended, I can’t wait to read the second installation.

Wow, this books makes me want to go find my own Peter🥰 I am in love with not only the story line but the characters and relationships between them. My favourite has to be the Song girls, they have the best and most realistic sister relationship I have come across in a book! There was a lot of hype surrounding this with the Netflix film and I haven’t watched it yet as I planned to read it first. But I must admit it made me apprehensive to read it because I worried it wouldn’t live up to everything said. HOWEVER, it totally did and it was amazing! I read it in 2 days and loved every second! I can’t wait to read the others!🥰

This isn’t a YA read but I must admit from the first book I have been invested in the world of Harry Clifton. From 1920 to 1992 I have followed a seven book journey centred around the life of Harry Clifton( there’s only 5 in the picture because I had to give them back before I took the picture). My Nan recommended this series to me and allowed me to borrow her own collection to which I am very grateful. Jeffery Archer has written an amazing series and I recommend to anyone who loves a bit of history with a twist!

What’s your favourite book series??
I think I’d have to say mine is ‘The Hunger games’ Trilogy or the ‘Twilight’ saga they’re both such good book series!
Harry Potter is a classic, must read.
Tokyo ghoul was a manga Series that I enjoyed, I had 10 books from the first series but slowly fell out of love for them after a while as my tastes changed.

I can tell you now Laureth Peak is definitely not invisible! In this gripping YA mystery thriller by Marcus Sedgewick I followed visually impaired, 16 year old Laureth and her 7 year old brother Benjamin along with his Crow, Stan, as they venture across the ocean in search for their dad. A great read for those who love a mystery and an adventure! I devoured it in just over a day and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
