I've talked about this before a little bit, but the whole "past lovers face Japanese myth" thing. It doesn't hold up for anyone other than Aang (who is still a child in the pic that they use, his facial features are GOING to be vague and soft and will most likely grow more defined as he matures) and Ta Min. One of the things that makes me very incensed when it comes to it is when people compare Kavik and Kuruk and are like "they have the same face" when they really don't?? Yall not every Water Tribe man looks the same just say that you can't distinguish between cartoon characters' faces. (People do the same thing w/ Hakoda and Kuruk and it's just aughh nooo actually look at their faces and not their eyebags and and the fact that they have prevalent cheekbones pleassee)

And also the myth they're talking about just doesn't exist. I find it annoying that people will see "Oh there's a X legend/myth about-" and take it at face value without thinking "Oh, hey, what if I just look this up so I don't spread misinformation." It gives me "there's an old Native American myth about-" vibes and it's just really gross.

inspo taken from @lazyveran ‘s twin sun god au (<- bare titty warning btw 🙏🏼) AND depictions of the Hindu gods Agni + Rama. So. And I’ve named him Agni

Extra notes

- his heads can fuse together to symbolize solar noon, which is actually extremely freaky for everyone

- genuinely tweaks out whenever there’s a solar eclipse. He can’t stand it. He needs to kill his twin (or Yue, depends on the time)

- believed to be the ancestor of the fn royal family, much like how the Japanese royal family is/was thought to be related to Amaterasu

- aside from being the sun spirit, he is also considered to be the spirit of war and as well as the cycle of life. Despite one of his things being war, he would strangle sozin with his bare hands if he was able to
