Draco Malfoy x Reader

“Y/n! Cmon!” Draco yelled to you from the door.

“I’m coming! I’m coming!” You said from the bathroom.

“Merlin, you take- no.” He said, cutting himself off.

“What do you mean, no?” You asked, furrowing your brows.

“It’s absolutely freezing outside y/n. Go get a jacket.” He said, practically blocking the door.

He wasn’t wrong, you were wearing leggings and a loose fitted t-shirt in 40° weather- but you can handle it.

“Dray, I’ll be fine. We’re going to be inside most of the time anyways.”

“Y/n-“

“Plus, walking will warm us up!” You said trying to make him drop it.

You hated wearing layers. You always got too hot then you’d have to hold it. Plus it’s not even that cold.

“Fine. But don’t come running to me when you get cold.” He said, opening the door.

‘I won’t’ you thought.

You were wrong.

Almost halfway through the walk to Hogesmead you were shivering. But not just shivering.

Your teeth were chattering.

Draco, noticed this of course.

“You’re sure you aren’t cold, love?” He asked, teasingly.

“M’fine.” You murmured, walking faster so you could get warmth.

Then you were yanked backwards.

“Wha-“

You were cut off by a beanie being plopped on your head. Dracos beanie.

The beanie Draco had smartly put on this morning because he knew it’d be cold

Before you could question it your shaking hands were pulled apart and he was working his coat onto you.

He had a hoodie on under it and with the short distance left he could make it through, that didn’t stop you from trying to stop him…

“No, Draco I can’t take this.” You said, cozying into it.

“Sure you cant.” He rolled his eyes, playfully.

“Now let’s go before I catch a cold.” He said, grabbing your hand.

“It’s adorable!” You gasped, grabbing the stuffed owl.

Draco looked at it unimpressed.

“Don’t you have a real one?” He asked.

“Yes but…”

The answer never came, you just continued to swoon over the unneeded item.

“That’s pointless, y/n. I’m not getting it.” He said, biting back a laugh.

“That’s ok! I’ll get it.” You said, pulling it to your chest.

As you got to the cashier, Draco had bags of you and his favorite candies and snacks.

“Is that all?” The lady asked.

You planned to pay for the stuffed animal separately.

“Ye-“

“No.” Draco said, grabbing the owl out of your hands and placing it on the counter.

You smiled up at him and he just rolled his eyes. Though he couldn’t hide his smirk.

“And one vanilla cone with sprinkles, for the lady.” Draco said playfully.

You both laughed and leaned into each other.

Ice cream in the snow.

As you two got back to your dorm you changed into pajamas and you laid on top of his chest.

It was almost perfect.

Almost.

“Goodnight, my lo-“

“Wait!“ you piped, getting up.

He watched, bewildered as you picked through the bags.

As you got back in bed he kissed you goodnight and said ‘I love you’. To you and your stuffed owl.

Summary: Draco takes care of you when your having an episode.

Warnings: Depressive episode.

“Baby?” Draco asked as you threw yourself into his arms.

You were going to hang out with Pansy and a group of her friends today but halfway through you got an icky feeling in your chest.

You were supposed by how fast the switch was. One second you were laughing and having fun and the next your eyes were going blurry due to the tears.

Of course, you held it in until you had excused yourself because of a “headache” and made your way up to your- Dracos dorm.

You knocked and held your breath till you heard footsteps.

Thank Merlin he wasn't out.

“What’s the matter, lovie?” he frowned as you let out those long-awaited tears.

When you didn't answer he moved you to the bed.

“C’mere.” he cooed, pulling you into his chest.

You started to feel better at first as you nuzzled your head into his sweatshirt. He was so soft and his smell slowly calmed you down.

Until he decided to question you again.

“What's the matter, baby?” His tone of voice made you break again.

You let out a sob.

“I-” You practically gasped as you lifted your head to look at him.

“I-I don't know.” You cried as he cupped your face.

That's when Draco started to understand what was going on.

“Sh sh. You're alright.” he said softly, rubbing your back under your shirt.

His hand was cold in comparison to the warm duvet he'd draped around you.

You started to focus on his breathing.

You were a mess.

Hiccupping and bawling.

Draco smoothed out your hair and started to draw shapes on your back.

When your sobs died down you were able to speak.

He listened to your incoherent babbles and answered them with a soft ‘oh baby’ or ‘im sorry’.

Trying his hardest not to say anything that would trigger you further.

He was a bit conflicted because he didn't know whether to ask questions about this story (that he still couldn't figure out due to your face being buried in his shirt) or just let you ramble on.

Luckily, he didn't have to make that decision because your sobs slowly turned into hiccups and little yawns.

You continued to talk and he slowly sat you up while making eye contact so you knew he was listening.

“Mhm..” he said back as he replaced your blouse with one of his t-shirts from his side drawer, knowing that you'd be too tired to let him do it after that.

Once you were in comfortable clothes you felt better and let him take off your makeup.

Finally, he made you drink a cup of water as he wiped your ever-flowing tears.

It didn't take long for you to fall asleep as he stroked your hair.

“Goodnight, my love.” he said, mentally coming up with the questions he'd ask in the morning.

You shot up as your alarm blared in your ear.

You groaned as you reached to turn it off.

Then you realized something was wrong.

Yesterday you had decided to wake up at 3 am with Draco.

Of course, he wasn’t happy with this decision but he knew it was for the best.

You two had a project that needed to be finished and after the quidditch match last night he was too tired to finish it.

Since you two were partners (as always) you weren’t too pleased with this. Nonetheless, you gave into the ferret and him “needing you to hold him to fall asleep” (as always), under one condition.

He’d wake up early with you the next day to finish it.

School starts at 5 am and you still had half of the project left so this gave you just enough time to finish it and get ready.

When you first woke up you were completely oblivious.

It was always dark in the dungeons so you couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

Till you looked at the clock.

It was 3…

PM

“DRACO YOU ABSOLUTE IMBECILE-“ You yelled, reaching back to grab your pillow, hitting him with it.

He groaned and pushed it away.

You knew you shouldn’t have let him set that alarm!

You slowly calmed down and started to come up with exactly what to say to your professor, trying to get out of bed.

‘Yes sir, it’s this idiots-Draco’s fault’

‘Care to tell me what you were doing in “this idiots”dorm?’

Well that’s not gonna work-

“Hmph” you let out as you were pulled back into bed.

“Dray-“ you exclaimed, pushing off of him.

You didn’t make it far.

“Just five more minutes.” He whispered, holding you against him, his eyes still shut.

“You set the time wrong! You absolute moron! We’ve missed two classes!”

“Let’s just stay here today. There’s no reason to go in now.” He groaned into your hair.

Wait a second…

That’s when you started to catch on.

“Malfoy.”

“Hm?”

“I know damn well you didn’t…”

You felt him smirk against your neck.

This prick set it wrong on purpose!

“You-twat-“ you said in between hits.

“I didn’t! I didn’t.” He chuckled.

You were flipped around staring at him.

You glared and waited for him to crack.

Then you saw him try to hold back his smile.

“Draco!” You said, going back to landing your not-so-brutal blows.

He kept laughing and caught your arms, pinning them to your sides.

He sat up and looked down at you.

“Ok well there’s nothing we can do about it now…” he said making you roll your eyes.

“We might as well make the most of it, right?” He asked and gave you a second to calm down.

After a moment of consideration and your stupid heart going soft for the blondes puppy dog eyes (as always) you relaxed your arms.

“Fine.” You said in faux annoyance.

He smiled and pulled you against his chest once again. Humming to you as you fell back asleep.

“That’s not how you do it, Draco.” You said as he tried for the 8th time to get your braids right.

“Well it’s not my fault you keep moving around like a bloody worm!” He exclaimed.

“Did you just call me a worm?!” You snapped, looking at him through the mirror.

“I-“

“Like an old married couple, I’m telling you.” You heard as the bathroom door came open, revealing Blaise and Theo.

Draco’s head snapped over towards the door.

You tried to look as well but couldn’t because of Draco’s hand keeping you in place. Trying to keep your braids intact.

“What are you two doing here?” Draco asked.

“We could ask you the same thing.” Blaise said back.

“This idiot didn’t set an alarm.” You said rolling your eyes.

“Yes I did-“

“FOR 3 PM-“

“Children calm down.” Theo scolded.

“We brought you guys board games just in case you were sick.” He added, waving around his bag.

“Aww Theo, thanks!” You said, your heartwarming at the gesture.

“Yeah, but we wouldn’t have if we knew you two were just being lazy.” Blaise said in faux disappointment.

Draco rolled his eyes, focusing back on your poorly done braids.

“We should take them back to the-“

“But Theo what do you expect us to do in here all day! If we get caught in the halls we will get in trouble for skipping.” You whined.

They paused for a moment and looked at each other.

“Fine.” He said putting down the bag.

“You’re lucky we love you.” They said walking out.

“We love you too!” You yelled back.

“Ok let go! Now we can finally do something.” You said, getting up from your spot on the counter.

Draco gasp exasperatedly as your braids came back undone.

“Love, with all due respect…that card isn’t a three or blue.” Draco said, cockily.

You glared up at him as you went through your choices. Which were limited due to your boyfriend being so good at Uno.

“Fine.” You said rolling your eyes and drawing cards.

He snickered when you finished and set down his last card.

“Uno-“ He paused coming closer to your face.

“Out.” He finished.

You got up quickly and he let out a yell as you chased him around.

Once close to the bed he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him.

You gave in and let him pull you into bed.

You had both just eaten half of his snack drawer and gone through about 8 rounds of Uno so you were getting tired.

“I love you, darling.”

“I love you too, dray.”

He held you against his chest and peppered kisses around your face.

When the clock hit 10pm you could hear his soft snores behind you and you smiled as you drifted off.

But not before you set the alarm.
