Show Me Your Moves! (Chapter 15)

AO3 STORY

Chapter 15 : Agility

Agility increases the user's speed by two stages.

When Sandy offered you to take his old motorbike to drive around in the Great Wall Race, you were on the fence about it.

On one hand, he wants you to advertise the restaurant. On the other hand, he wants you to start being more social in public.

But ‘A’ you don’t know how to drive a motorbike.

And ‘B’ you don’t want to add yourself into canon any more than you already have.

You realised that, in your skirmish with the Spider Queen, you drew more attention to yourself than you had hoped for, and the universe was slowly adding you to the main cast instead of sticking you as a support/background character like you wanted.

So you told Sandy you'd think about it.

Screw you universe, why do you do this to me?

You cursed in your head as you watched the rest of the racers line up to race alongside you.

Mei was obviously there, looking incredibly peeved that MK was participating. Red Son popped up behind them, and Jin and Yin showed up before eventually taking over the commentators box and introducing PIF and DBK before announcing the track switch.

You’re really about to do this.

You took a deep breath, getting onto the bike just like Sandy taught you to.

So long as you don’t participate in the key fight, you’re fine…

Jin and Yin did the countdown with as much fanfare as they could before sounding the horn to begin the race.

Red Son and Mei were the fastest to react, zooming off with incredible speed.

However, DBK and PIF were fast to react and managed to get a starting boost to surpass the two, yelling something after Red Son as they passed him.

MK did the same, yelling in a mocking tone as he raced just behind the villainous couple.

You were, obviously, I’m dead last.

While the motorbike was fast, you still weren’t a full fledged professional like Mei or even Red Son, so you went at your own pace.

You couldn't see anyone ahead of you, meaning that they were already way more farther ahead than you.

You didn’t mind, you were content at just going at your own pace.

It was pretty nice, being dead last. Jin and Yin mainly focused on the racers ahead of you.

At this point, DBK and PIF were driving through a mountain after she had teasingly provoked him a bit, and you had yet to hear of Mei’s bike being destroyed yet.

Deciding to take a bit of a risk, you tried to speed up. Sandy had told you to not go too out of your comfort zone, out of fear you might get hurt, but the back of your mind screamed at you to catch up.

They’re too far ahead. You’ll be too late.

You shook the weird thoughts from your head and sped up.

Speed up!

You felt a rush of adrenaline in your veins, and your breath hitched a bit as you unconsciously sped up the motorbike.

Go, go, go!!!

You slammed your foot down and the bike took off with incredible speed. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears, and the only thing that you could focus on was the street ahead of you, with everything else blurring from the tunnel vision.

You heard a distant crash, and maniacal laugh, then you passed a blur of green and gold.

Mei and MK.

You remembered what happened mid-way through. And you vaguely recall how they end up winning the race.

Win.

Narrowing your eyes, your vision blurred as you took deep breaths.

You heard something explode and rebuild itself, then another something bursting out from something.

Win.

At that point, you had lost all comprehension of the things around you, everything was blurry, you couldn’t hear anything more than muffled cheering, and you were moving fast.

W I N!

You were snapped out of it when the queen of the bike caught into something, launching you over the steering handles and onto the floor, making you face plant.

You groaned, holding your head as you sat up.

“And that’s the end! Random tea person wins!”

It too a second, but as soon as those words reached your brain, your heart stopped.

You didn’t… did you really?

In a blur, you were placed onto the 1st place pedestal and handed the trophy, still shell shocked and panting like you ran the race instead of driving.

Like in canon, MK tries to eat the trophy, and Mei laughs at him and Red Son over believing that the trophy was actually a peach of immortality.

“You were awesome! When did you get so good at racing?” Mei asked, getting you into a side hug, which snapped you out of your stupor.

“Uhh, beginner's luck?” You responded sheepishly, and Mei laughed.

“We need to celebrate your first win, maybe Pigsy will make some noodles! Leggo!” MK, ever the ball of energy, takes you by the wrist and runs off to take you to Pigsy’s, with Mei following behind, laughing all the while.

And as this was happening, there was only one thing in your head.

A plea.

Please don’t let this break canon…

Sow Me Your Moves! (Chapter 14)

AO3 STORY

WE'RE ALL CAUGHT UP WITH THE AO3 STORY! From this point on in the story, the chapters will be uploaded on here and AO3 on the same days :)

Chapter 14 : Return

Return deals damage and has no secondary effects. It has more power the more friendship the user has.

The Calabash.

Oh how you worried for MK’s mental state.

The thought of Mei ‘confessing’ to MK made you cringe.

When Sandy called you earlier, panicking that MK was missing, you tried to calm him down and explain that MK was most likely okay, but that didn’t help very much.

Instead of opening up shop like normal, Sandy decided to take the day off with his therapy cats and you went to Pigsy’s restaurant for the first time. Upon your arrival, Mei threw herself into you. “You’re okay!”

“Yeah, I’m fine? What happened? I heard MK went missing.”

“He just went on a delivery and never came back! We don’t know the specifics.” Tang explained as Pigsy was grumbling at his counter.

“I’m sure he’s fine. MK is super OP, right? He’ll be fine.” You comforted Mei by patting her head.

Mei’s muffled “I guess…” Barely reached your ears, and she just shoved her face in your shoulder as she sulked.

Despite Pigsy being obviously irritated that MK hasn’t returned, he still looked really worried and stressed, same with Tang, who’s been chewing the same noodles for longer than he normally would.

You patted Mei on the head and pushed her off yourself and approached Pigsy. “Hey, I said MK would be okay, you just need to trust in him.”

You could hear a quiet voice in the back of your head shout out “hypocrite!” at you. Pigsy sighed. “Ugh I know, but seeing these orders stack up and him not answering my calls still worries me.”

You contemplated for a moment before taking the food into your arms. “I can do it.” You offered. They all looked at you in surprise, and Pigsy thought it over carefully.

“It can give me a good chance to try and look for MK too!” You added, and with that, Pigsy immediately agreed to it.

Mei, with the proposition that you could deliver things for Pigsy and keep a lookout for MK, immediately agreed to drive you around on her motorbike to help you. You spent the next few hours looking for the successor, but to no avail.

And while that was a total flop, it wasn’t all bad, as you ended up coming face to face with an orange cat, and was rescued by the little girl who owned it as her mother thanked you for the delivery.

You felt a cool dread in your gut.

Mei continued driving you around the entire city, even after you were all finished to look for MK, but he still hasn’t come up yet.

Just how long is he stuck in there for?

You and Mei return to Pigsy’s MK-less, both of you being tired from all the driving around, and Mei was sulking even more.

Pigsy and Tang looked at you questioningly, only to deflate again when you shook your head no.

“I don’t get it. Where is that kid?” Pigsy growled in frustration.

And speak of the devil and he shall appear.

Or in this case, the Monkie man.

In the entrance to Pigsy’s was MK, still slightly frazzled from the Calabash and holding his staff in his hands.

“MK!” You and Mei exclaim in relief, and Pigsy storms up to him.

“Where have you been!? You’re lucky those two volunteered to pull your weight for you!” And while he didn’t say it, you could tell Pigsy was relieved that MK was okay.

And on cue, MK started crying in happiness that Pigsy was normal and not the fake one.

You decided to tune him out a bit, just glad that everyone isn’t stressed that he was missing anymore.

And you were startled when everyone began yelling at him. Mainly startled because Mei had screamed loud and it hurt.

You snapped your lego claw the best you could next to where your ear would be and when you confirmed you still had your hearing, you approached MK and gave him a side hug. “I knew you’d be okay. What happened anyway?”

He shuddered. “Something that I don’t want happening ever again.”

You nodded as the three continued yelling at MK and decided to be one with the moment, not ready to make another moment like this sour with your cynical thoughts of what’s to come in the near future.

Hey remember when US and Russia was all like “We’re the best!!! We’ve won the space race!!!!” But India sent a kick-ass space probe to Mars and the whole mission was fuel efficient, costed less and a roaring success in the first try and then they were like “…..wait no that can’t be true” and still have the audacity to call us “underdeveloped” or only view us as a ‘third world country’? :)

Show Me Your Moves! (Chapter 13)

AO3 STORY

Chapter 13 : Poison Jab

This move inflicts damage and has a 30% chance to poison the target.

By this point, MK, Mei and Sandy haven’t arrived yet, so your best bet was to lay low and not bring attention to yourself.

You couldn’t hear what the Spider Queen was saying, her lair was too echoey, but you already knew what was going to happen anyway, and it wasn’t gonna be pretty if the universe decides she can actually eat the people trapped here.

You sneakily got closer and closer to where she was, standing over a large pot with a toxic green liquid in it, cackling evilly.

Tang said something about how MK was going to save them, Spider Queen laughed again, but you didn’t pay much attention to their back and forth.

Instead, you stared at the pot.

Could you knock it over? If your memory serves you correctly, then this liquid is used to make the blue liquid that helps the Lady Bone Demon…

Nope! Too late! MK is here!

The poor guy obviously isn’t comfortable in the lair filled with a butt ton of spider webs.

Spider Queen hadn’t seen him yet, and Tang and Pigsy were still safe, so as soon as MK went to pass you, you dragged him behind a rock, and he would have screamed his head off if you hadn’t put a hand over his mouth to shush him.

“MK. It’s just me.” You whisper.

MK looked at you in shock. “How did you get here? Weren’t you just…?”

You shrugged. “I honestly have no idea. One moment I was in the base, then the next I was here.” You explain.

The staff wielding successor gasped, and his eyes sparkled. “You have powers?”

“Apparently. But that’s not important. What is important is saving Pigsy and Tang.” You point to both of MK’s father figures, then over to the toxic pot. “And destroy whatever that is.”

MK nodded determinedly. “Got it.” And without any other thought, he jumped into action.

Not a good idea.

While Pigsy and Tang were ecstatic seeing MK come to save them, the Spider Queen immediately ambushed MK and managed to lure him to the other side of the lair.

You then made yourself known, coming out from behind the rock. “You guys.” You whisper shouted as you ran over to the web.

Pigsy let out a muffled yell and Tang sighed in relief. “You’re okay! How did you get here?”

“I just stumbled into the hole.” You explain, not exactly ready to tell them of your powers just yet. You managed to pull Pigsy out first and rip off the webs. Before you could pull the webs off his face, he immediately freed Tang.

“We’re glad you’re okay. We thought you got caught too.” Tang explained, pulling the webs off of Pigsy’s face.

You could still hear MK and Spider Queen fighting, with MK sometimes screaming in fear, but before you could run to him, Mei and Sandy finally appeared on the scene, with the boat crashing through the wall.

It was absolute chaos all around.

Mei spotted you, but you ran past her, yelling out “we’ll talk later!” as you rushed to go see how MK was holding up with the Queen.

He was holding up pretty well, much like he did in canon, essentially just stalling until back up came.

That was you.

You were back up apparently.

Spider Queen noticed your presence and smirked. She tossed MK away in favour of approaching you with a look of interest.

She hummed. “Hmm, you’re quite a strange one, aren’t you?” A glint of cruelty in her eyes as she raised one of her spider arms to strike you, but MK extended his staff to hit her out of the way.

“Are you okay?” He asked worriedly, you nodded and looked back over at Spider Queen, who quickly recovered from the attack.

Enraged, she surged at MK, one of her fists were pulled back as if to punch him, but you beat her to the punch.

Quite literally too.

As you reeled your uninjured arm back, a purple, sticky liquid covered your arm and your punch had her flying and knocking into the pot, crashing it and making the toxic liquid cover the ground.

You watched as she struggled to get up, her face was flushed a deeper purple, and she looked ready to either vomit or pass out.

You took the chance to grab the shocked yet star-struck MK and high tail it out of there to reunite with Pigsy, Tang, Mei and Sandy.

“What did I tell you not to do?”

“Join in on the mission.”

“And what did you do?”

“Join in on the mission…” You sigh as Mei scolded you for what you did, despite the teleporting being totally against your will.

“That’s not fair.” MK pouted. “It’s not their fault their powers flipped out.” He explained.

Sandy looked like he finally understood what happened. “Oh, did you somehow manage to fly there yourself?”

You look at him weirdly. “No? I teleported. What makes you think I can just fly???”

Sandy shrugged. “Hey, you never know.”

Mei’s face softened a bit, but she still had her arms crossed. “Listen, I’m sorry for yelling at you, and I know you didn’t mean to get involved, but we gotta find some way to get you some control over your powers.”

“That final punch you gave that spider lady was so cool!” MK exclaimed excitedly, shuddering when bringing up the Spider Queen.

“It knocked that spooky pot over too, I think that’s a good thing.” Your boss said with a comforting smile.

Mei agreed. “Yeah, who knows what bad that green stuff would do.”

You’ll know soon.

Mei hugged you, and MK and Sandy quickly joined in to give you a group hug, with Sandy picking all three of you up with ease.

There was a small beat of comforting silence before Mei’s brain caught up and she gasped. “YOU HAVE POWERS!?”

You winced as she yelled in your ear.

“WHAT!?” You could hear Tang’s fanboying gasp and Pigsy’s tired sigh from behind you all on the boat.

Oh boy… here we go again…

I hardly see any news on Ukraine or Palestine anymore. Don't become complicit or desensitized to these injustices.

I know logging on to talk about your favorite character or media and distract yourself from work or life can be nice, but that's a privilege many do not have. It doesn't take much to spend some time educating yourself and donating if you can.

Show Me Your Moves! (Chapter 12)

AO3 STORY

Chapter 12 : Teleport

Teleport, if used by a wild Pokemon, allows it to successfully run away from battle. If used by a Pokemon in your own party, the Pokemon will switch out with another, and will fail if the teleporting Pokemon is the only battling Pokemon left.

Your eye twitched as you walked into the street market in search of something Sandy sent you to get.

Curse you and your bad luck.

And now you somehow ended up following Pigsy and Tang through the marketplace. You had stumbled into the two ( curse you back luck!) and after you let it slip that you’ve never been to the market before, the two kindly decided to show you around.

And it was at this point that your feeling of dread from your sleepover came back full force as you realised you were becoming less of a background character and more like a supporting character.

Wonderful.

You spent most of the time zoning out, because by this point, Pigsy was just dragging you and Tang around analysing carrots in excruciating detail.

You spent the next while like that until you came across a very broken down stall.

Spider Queen.

You sneakily manage to dip back into the crowd, neither of them noticing that you had disappeared.

You left the marketplace with the things you had gotten, but your list wasn’t done.

Saving Pigsy and Tang is more important!

“Sandy! Guys!” You barged into the Sea-Crate base, something Sandy had shown you just in case something bad happened.

The three all yelled in shock, seeing you so frazzled. Sandy walks over to you worriedly. “Woah, are you okay?”

“This isn’t about me! Pigsy and Tang are in danger!”

“I knew it!” MK shouted as Mei pulled up the camera footage to replay it.

It showed Pigsy and Tang talking with and following after the Spider Queen, then them falling into the trap she made, then the screens went static.

“Uh, Spider Demon!? Come on. No. Ew, yuck, I hate spiders! Hate, hate, hate! With their eyes and feet and furry butts!” MK whined fearfully.

Ah, you forgot about his arachnophobia…

You sigh. “What do we do now?”

“Only one thing to do! It’s time for Operation Rescue!” Mei declared in determination.

“Operation: Rescue Pigsy and Tang from the nightmare hole!” You laughed before trying to follow after the group, but Mei stopped you.

“Nope! Sorry bestie, but you’ve been too stressed out! So leave this mission to us!” She said.

You pouted, but relented. The only person who knew about your weirdo powers was Sandy, and no one else.

You stayed back, watching as Sandy’s water friendly adventure boat drove off. Now that you thought about it… you’re actually rather thankful you aren't there if Mei really drives it through the city.

But you still wanted to help! Kind of…

You didn’t know why, but you guessed that the HeroicTendencies™ of this world is finally getting to you. Crossing your arms and pouting, you go to sit down, only to just fall butt first onto the floor.

But not butt first onto the metal floor of the sea crate base…

You fall butt first onto stone, and you open your eyes to find yourself surrounded by jagged stones and large webs.

Spider Queen’s base…

HOW THE FU–!
