Honestly though, there's something kinda interesting about that dream when you're busting for a piss and searching for a bathroom, isn't there?

Because, nothing you'll find within the dream will ever fix the issue. You probably don't even realize it IS a dream and that there's anything beyond it!

And maybe waking up at night to go wee isn't the funnest thing, but hey, it'll feel a heck of a lot better afterwards, and BOY is it preferable to the alternative!

The Weeping Shadow

Yeah so finding THAT particular post again proved kinda tricky, but re–reading it was super worth it, and now I know where to look better. I was reminded of it by the recent trope talk on small little mammals, genuinely fascinating!

I went WAY the heck scarier than I really planned with this here, but then again I should've known, what with this critter here witnessing two nested layers of the barely fathomable… So… whoopsie, I guess!

This is what "winning" looks like.

I drew Shrike! This one kinda just… happened? I was trying to sketch her face in profile to get a feel for how I was going to draw her, and then got hyper–focused and just kept adding stuff until the drawing was done. I'm actually really proud of how the composition turned out.

I kinda just started sketching her braid, and figured hey: that's looking kind of like a chain, and ran with it. Oh yeah, hand–drawing 70–something chain links was a task, but it was totally worth it!

I drew the probably no longer junior archivist, Theia!

I started really liking how this was turning out right around when I got the Light Dragon's shape and the texture overlay right.

I made all of the imagery be… well, kind of ambiguous, I guess? Because at this point we don't have a totally clear view of what she's up to, and it's looking like she doesn't want anyone to know, either!

I reæally wish Tumblr wouldn't apply anti–aliasing to these drawings I do with a crisp pixel brush. I'll look into it, maybe it's toggleable?

Man oh man, this was a vibe. I do think stained glass is kind of a perfect fit for Dainix! He's from a desert settlement of mostly fire mages, who use a lot of glass in their construction. On top of that, his stripes are pretty easily incorporated into the triangle structure of the panels, and turns out flames are stupid fun to build out of these glass spikes.

On that note, the subtle flame–patterning of the Ignans' skin is totally stellar design for fire–adapted humans like WOW. It's very pretty.

I don't actually know how to craft stained glass beyond the basic technical details, but I still think this looks pretty nice! I got the idea from accidentally clicking a 3D effect onto my line-art while drawing my new profile pic.

I think I like how this turned out. I drew Alinua performing her signature move: willing a tree into existence on the spot!

Did I sort of rush this? Yes, but it was fun. I just threw more filigree and gradients at the canvas until I decided it looks good.

Is the tree a bit small? Maybe, but I didn't want our favourite floofy elf too small in frame in this particular drawing. Just imagine the tree isn't finished growing yet, I guess!

I drew the lionboy! I love how clever and resourceful he is.

The runes are mirrored because he's etching on a tree or rock clipped into the fourth wall. Also, I love drawing tails like these, and completely ignoring any sort of consistent length for the sake of composition.

I've been playing with layering hard mix effects to harmonize and funkify the colours I'm working with, it's real fun.

Uh, hi! I'm just gonna put this down in this corner over here for safekeeping and run away really fast, because it's my first time posting my art and yeah.

I picked these out for art commission example reasons, which is why none of them have complex backgrounds – I wanna start somewhat simple over here. Most of them are attached to variously developed stories of mine, except for the ones that aren't, which aren't.

I'm stalling for time. I should stop typing and just press the "post" button now, shouldn't I? I really don't wanna put it off another n weeks.

Okay, one more thing – the layout spares most of these, except the one it doesn't, which is ending up cropped. So, there. Here goes hopefully not nothing!
