I've fallen down a Greek Mythology hole, which is where I've been for the past...eh, while.
Here's our lovely Dionysus, reclining in front of some purple cannabis plants.

we all love the nulls but who's your favorite arc trooper?
I was gonna draw my answer but my muse is apparently brumating so words will have to do. Alas.
My favourite Alpha ARC is Maze. Hands down the hardest working and longest suffering Alpha out there specifically because he has to put up with bureaucracy, Jedi shenanigans, no active combat, AND the Nulls. Terrible. I have a soft spot for these kinds of characters lol. 17 comes in a close second because he's an asshole (they all are).
I cannot name a favourite non-alpha ARC tbh, because there aren't enough to name off the top of my head and it's not fair to rank them. They're all good!!

5.5/10????? A'den???? Prudii's 4/10??? why 😭😭😭
Lmao I'm being facetious! If we went by realistic, real-world standards, I would absolutely not date any military/specops supersoldier with psychological/personality issues up the wazoo for my own health and safety. I have standards lol
But I am a humble opossum so I suppose I could adjust the curve for their benefit and rank the Null ARCs against themselves in a vacuum. It's also rated on how easily they'd piss me off, with 5 being unlikely and 0 being murder.
A'den 4.5/5
Prudii 4/5
Ordo 3/5
Jaing (bonus points because he likes Mird) 2.75/5
Kom'rk and Mereel 2/5
But! This is all hypothetical and for fun! Sometimes the incompatibility of a character with my own personality makes them that much more fun to play with!
At the end of the day, I love all the boys because they're all so fucked up in their own special ways~

whos the second most dateable null arc in ur opinion (maker help me i cant get them out of my head)
Once they're in your head, they simply won't leave 😔
I was asked a while ago which Null ARC I'd consider the most datable, and truth be told they all suck for one reason or another BUT if I was promised a fortune on the caveat that I choose one, I'd choose A'den.
My runner up was Prudii. He's got a good sense of humor and seems to be a bit more down-to-earth than his brothers.

Yeah it does bear multiple read-throughs, given the number of moving parts throughout the novels. It's been a while since I read O66 and Imperial 501st, and I'm currently taking a deep dive (taking actual notes lol) through True Colors.
When did my hobby become actual homework?!
It's so sad that the books had so little content about Kom'rk, Prudii and A'den. What's your take on them, could you share some headcanons?
Right?? I wish there was a bit more on them, but like so many characters with little interaction, we can glean some info from the canon and extrapolate from there.
Bear in mind that my headcanons (below the cut) are my interpretation and they're subject to change at any given moment if someone has a better idea! I'm always rotating these boys in my brain like rotisserie chickens.
Kom'rk
he's an insufferable asshole 80% of the time
and yet somehow he comes out quite charming when he wants to be
not terribly chatty by default, preferring to let his marks do the work for him
but he does a good job of taking subtle command of conversations and getting them moving in directions that suit his needs.
Physically, I like the idea of him growing his hair out a bit while in the field with Jaing, but I doubt it's accurate given Kal's weird obsession with Boys Must Have Short Hair that was probably drilled into him from a very young age.
I still give him longer hair because fuck you Kal Skirata
I've assigned him black and navy (and red accents??) as his Mando Beskar'gam colours
I think that in a sniper/spotter team, Kom'rk would be the spotter and Jaing would be the sniper
Oh!! He's really calm under pressure. Very hard to crack!
A social chameleon but on the opposite end of Mereel's style. He prefers to wait and see while Mereel seems to be more about poking the bear to see what it will do.
Prudii
He's apparently a glib cynic, but I see him as more of a realist with a dark sense of humor
He's got a bit of the gallows humor going on, but that's an expected coping mechanism for... well, his whole life
Working alone makes him a bit weird and reintegrating socially is definitely an interesting experience
He pairs nicely with A'den, with how casual they are about rank and all that shit
I dunno, I just think he's neat and I'm still getting to know him
A'den
The most dateable Null ARC
Legit, he's so normal (for a Null ARC) and has a wicked sense of humor (dark gallows humor like everyone else in their situation)
Has a red hot temper but he keeps a good lid on it (this is canon)
Sharp tongue, quick wit, can and will murder you with words
Looks good in coveralls
Sneaky stealthy man (I mean, they all are)
He might actually enjoy homesteading or bushcrafting if given the opportunity after the war
Whiiiiiich is making me think of Beekeeper!A'den which is adorable lol
Give him a little hobby farm and he'd be good as gold.... definitely not thinking of a postwar AU where he does just that
A mystery man rolls into town and puts down roots, says he's Nobody Special and has a vegetable garden and some nuna and some honeybees and a significant arsenal of weapons stashed all over the farm. It's ok though cuz he's a good neighbour who helps out when a tractor breaks down or whatever. (and he operates a Rebellion numbers station but shhhh, he's a good man)
I think something's awakened in me.......

Kom'rk and Jaing aren't really in the field together. Jaing is a lot more mobile while Kom'rk has arguably one of the most ass assignments where he's stationed on Utapau the whole war as GG's personal FBI agent if you will. They even comment he's thinner than the other Nulls because he's stuck listening to comm channels on a shitty sinkhole without access to the better diet and treats the others have more ready access too.
Ah thank you for the correction!

You can trust Mereel. You can! He's not doing anything, just drinking his caf and playing Quantum Chess in his head for his own amusement...

I always have this thought that Mereel, in some way, would be an amazing parent.
In some way, yes. I think all of the Nulls (heck, all of the clone troopers) have that very strong familial sense that makes them excellent candidates for parenthood. Coupled with Kal's values revolving around Clan/Family identity, I'd say with certainty that these boys absolutely have the capacity to be good parents.
It's fun to think about the softer side of these boys, given their tragic upbringing and lifestyle. Maybe Mer'buir would want to give his offspring everything he missed from childhood: a normal Mandolorian life with toys and comfort and a more organic take on soldiering than flash training and life-fire exercises at the tender age of two.
He'd probably read every article he can get his hands on about child rearing and dig deep into human development to get a head-start on raising an all-star.
Realistically, I don't think Mereel would ever consider starting a family on his own. I think he's got too much wanderlust and restless rage tucked inside him to devote himself to a family. Maybe when he's older, more mature... but he'd make a great Uncle! Or perhaps an adoptive single father-figure to an older kid.

Ordo's brothers love him. (Or do they...?) We have in order L to R: Mereel, Prudii, Jaing, Kom'rk, and A'den.
