sansa 'political animal' stark btw
withholds vital information about the allyship with littlefinger & the knights of the vale from jon, resulting in the death of rickon stark & nearly jon himself
argues with jon in front of his bannerman, giving fuel to littlefinger's plotting to further alienate sansa from her surviving family members
despite jon proclaiming that all men, women & children should take up training in arms, does not learn how to wield a weapon for the inevitable war for the dawn
advocates for ned umber & alys karstark to be punished for treason, stripped of their lands and titles despite it being their fathers who sided with ramsay & continues to be upset about it after jon reminds her the punishment for treason is death
in a cut scene, has to have her brother bran convince her not to kill her own sister arya after littlefinger nearly manipulates her into doing so
proceeds to alienate queen daenerys targaryen by assuming the queen would not bring her own resources to feed her own armies & troops after she willingly decides to come north to fight against the wights & night king
proceeds to alienate queen daenerys targaryen by implying that jon is too pussy-whipped to understand what a threat she is, once again reinforcing the stereotype that jon is too stupid to rule on his own
somehow comes to the conclusion that the secret her own father ned stark died & took to the grave should be outed against jon's consent, knowing full well it would put jon in danger again because jon would not fight daenerys for the right to rule the seven kingdoms
If Jon had just sent Sansa to Dragonstone in his place, none of this shit would have gone down.

people talk about foreshadowing but never forget season seven sees daenerys leave daario behind in meereen for potential "political marriage arrangements" & then none of her advisors OR jon's advisors decide to mend the rift in the north or avoid potential usurpation by.................................... politically marrying them despite THREE SEASONS of giggling & twirling their hair over it

made a post about daenerys being azor ahai & had to read about how azor ahai is actually evil & was lead through several reddit tier theories about how evil azor ahai is, how much more eviler he is than the others, that he's actually the bloodstone emperor & how drogon being lightbringer means that daenerys is satan, of course
i don't actually want you guys to read the books anymore i want you to find a new fandom lmfaoooooo

it's really hard to hold anyone other than the writer's accountable for how criston was handled after joffrey's death. viserys was already in a precarious situation having denied marriage to laena & refusing to provide support in the stepstones despite the velaryon concern, which means that dealing with the potential uproar that would be caused after joffrey lonmouth's death. not just that, but house lonmouth is a noble house from the stormlands who would also apply pressure to see ser criston cole removed from the kingsguard since the events at the wedding are not like the events at a tourney where a knight dying would still be a tragic but justifiable death (which is why criston cole keeps his status in f&b.) in house of the dragon specifically, it would have made more sense to have criston cole removed from the kingsguard but remain alicent's personal guard whereupon he could be restated to his position after harold westerling's departure after rhaenyra's usurpation.
however much i want to blame corlys, viserys & alicent for the repetitive trauma given to laenor & rhaenyra during the timeskip, this is primarily a writer's table issue ignoring that actions have consequences in favor of trying to give alicent agency during her "green dress" moment, an act that takes away rhaenyra's defiant agency that comes from f&b specifically.
& as we see with cersei, the queen consort's power cannot prevent her children from being displaced no matter how hard she tries so alicent threatening viserys still would likely not prevent a betrothal, nor does it make sense as alicent does try to convince viserys betroth rhaenyra & aegon in f&b since that would give aegon access to the throne, which is all she & her father want.
it's the same reason alicent gets away with maiming the heir to the throne in a room full of people including the king. plot armor.
also, the fact that Laenor surely had to see him every day after that incredibly traumatic event? His parents are the heads of the second most powerful family in the realm and his wife is the heir to the most powerful. And Corlys and Rhaenys knew what Joffrey meant to Laenor. Laenor seems like a pretty non confrontational person, fine, and Rhaenyra wouldn’t want to overstep out of respect for him, ok, but you’re telling me that no Velaryon moved to get Criston removed on Laenor’s behalf? The infamously prideful Corlys didn’t take this as an insult? Alicent is Queen Consort, not Queen Regnant. If Corlys, Rhaenys, and not to mention possibly Laenor and Rhaenyra themselves decided to thrown their weight around, I highly doubt she would have been able to stop them. It truly makes no sense.

embarrassing to admit i've stooped so low, but i've been going back & forth with a show!jon stan on tiktok about my "deluded headcanons" & i'm just wondering if we all watched the same season 6 meeting between yara (asha) & dany. they (the stan) keep saying dany would never grant independence to the other kingdoms after the iron islands asked & i said she absolutely would have if they had asked, because VERBATIM:
TYRION: What if everyone starts demanding their independence? DAENERYS: She's not demanding. She's asking. The others are free to ask as well.
i don't know which part of me saying "if the north had asked for independence instead of demanding her resources while trading nothing over a threat daenerys knows nothing about, they might have gotten it" is a deluded headcanon like it's right there in the show!! come on now 😭

the discourse for today is "dany stans" are making up that daenerys is magical
Tumblr media
when literally
daenerys is azor ahai. ( When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone. The bleeding star has come and gone, and Dragonstone is the place of smoke and salt. ) daenerys hatches dragons for the first time in centuries & this rebirth is quickly followed shierak qiya, the red comet.
george said it himself: "The whole point of the scene in A Game of Thrones where Daenerys hatches the dragons is that she makes the magic up as she goes along; she is someone who really might do anything."
she spends the first novel having dragon dreams that result in the resurrection of dragons
the warlocks in the house of the undying want to cannibalize her & her magic to become stronger themselves
this entire passage btw:
"Half a year gone, that man could scarcely wake fire from dragonglass. He had some small skill with powders and wildfire, sufficient to entrance a crowd while his cutpurses did their work. He could walk across hot coals and make burning roses bloom in the air, but he could no more aspire to climb the fiery ladder than a common fisherman could hope to catch a kraken in his nets." Dany looked uneasily at where the ladder had stood. Even the smoke was gone now, and the crowd was breaking up, each man going about his business. In a moment more than a few would find their purses flat and empty. "And now?" "And now his powers grow, Khaleesi. And you are the cause of it." "Me?" She laughed. "How could that be?" The woman stepped closer and lay two fingers on Dany's wrist. "You are the Mother of Dragons, are you not?" (ACOK, Daenerys III)
ALSO claiming daenerys is male gaze is so whack when you know damn well she's a genre breaking character

NO BECAUSE you’re not even wrong with this. i can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve seen people flat out laughing at daenerys fans / snowstorm enjoyers for potentially happy endgame situations without the infamous mEdIa IlLiTeRaCy declarations being thrown around. these are the same people btw who criticize dany fans for being unable to see the mad twist queen coming & have twisted scenes into daenerys negative situations by removing all context surrounding the scenes, such as:
“daenerys doesn’t actually want to know the truth about her family!! she turns a blind eye” “daenerys smiles about viserys’s death & never thinks about him again” & the most egregious, “daenerys forgets hazzea’s name & is thus an evil person for not remembering”
time & time again daenerys fans opinions are discounted because of who we root for, but we’re also not the fandom famously known for making shit up like “daenerys dreams of sansa as a dragon/riding a dragon” & “i know it’s referring to arya but by jon not thinking of sansa he actually means sansa” & honestly just the ashford tourney theory in general LOL.
treating dany’s pregnancy foreshadowing like a collective hallucination between fans is really ridiculous considering these behind the scenes photos ( & here's the video evidence so no one can just say "they photoshopped those images btw )
Tumblr media
& this mother’s day photocard of daenerys in season eight attire
Tumblr media
& the scenes / behind the scenes info you included too !!
but i’ve noticed a lot of increased hate towards daenerys / rhaenyra / targaryen women a lot recently due to misconceptions brought on by hotd & the widespread fandom headcanon that all targaryens are dragons in their mothers’ stomachs despite the overwhelming proof of blood magic interference in over half of those pregnancies. so of course i doubt the jon/sa crowd would ever see anything wrong with implying that jon would microdose daenerys with moon tea since that implies having a certain amount of empathy for a child bride sold into slavery by her abusive brother (but then again, they think her book one arc of being sold to freeing slaves is an inaccurate portrayal [because despite dany repeatedly saying she wants to free slaves, her unsullied + her previous wedding handmaidens are all forced to be there through… physical threat by dragons the size of cats?]) never mind that that’s probably what varys was poisoning her with after he betrays her because of sansa's interference.
these are evil demonic valyrian women who deserve to be poisoned & killed because only the faith of the seven is a true peaceful religion, so spake the twitter gre/ens & jo/nsa stans. i can’t believe even the faith of the seven is being whitewashed when it comes to targaryen women.
How easy it is to forget...
I've often seen Jonsas and Stansas make fun of Jonerys and Dany fans for thinking Jon got Dany pregnant at the end of season 7. "How stupid," they say. "What dumbasses," they say. "This isn't a Disney story," they say... before proceeding to write paragraphs over how Sansa is "GRRM's very own Disney princess." Hm.
Tumblr media
THEY CAN'T BELIEVE IT, GUYS. HOW COULD THE FANDOM THINK DANY IS PREGNANT, GUYS. WHAT ANTI SMARTNESS, GUYS. WHO COULD SPECULATE DANY WAS GOING TO GET EVEN THE TINIEST BIT PREGNANT WITH THINGS SUCH AS: 1) Jorah allowing Jon to keep Longclaw so Longclaw can, and I quote, "serve you well and your children after you."
2) Jon questioning the veracity of MMD's words to Dany that she "can't have children."
3) This lil piece of behind-the-scenes commentary for 7x07 provided by David Benioff, Dan Weiss, and Kit Harington:
Kit Harington: She says she can’t have children. Dan Weiss: We’ll see about that… Harington: Yeah, we’ll see about that. You haven’t met the little Jon.
HM, GUYS. HMMMMMmmmmMMMM. WHY WOULD THE FANDOM THINK DANY WAS PREGNANT? THANK GOD WE HAVE JONSAS WHO KNOW WHAT'S WHA-
Oops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And these winners each come from prolific Jonsas! :)
Aside from the incredible grossness of yet another Jonsa theory (Abortion!Jon) and how it really highlights the convenient selective memory of Jonsas and Stansas, I'd like to ask: how does Jon know "what incest does to children"?
Because all of those two people (neither of whom Jon ever met)? I guess two people who turned out bad and were conceived via incest provide just that good of a case to condemn all, including his own child? That he'd force an abortion on the woman who he canonically loves?
Yeah?
Going with that "interpretation" of Jon Snow's character? Jon Snow, who grew up his entire life fighting bastard prejudice is going to condemn all and his own child to death on the basis of two people who were born from incest? Hm.
How do you explain Tywin Lannister/Ramsay Bolton/Cersei Lannister/etc. then -- all people who weren't born from incest but still manage to give evil a heaping helping hand? How do you explain the sweet-natured Myrcella and Tommen who were born from incest? How about all the incest-born nobleIs in the Seven Kingdoms because it's not only the good ol' Targs who practice incest. And on that note, what about the many Targaryens who were born of incest but just managed to be regular humans?
Nope, nope, not our Jonsa!JonSnow! Jonsa!JonSnow will disregard all of that and sneak an abortion on Dany to kill their child for being born of incest. What a hero.
And when it comes to Jon's "motivations" and "leitmotif" (which this Jonsa reduces to Jon "refusing" to have a bastard child), wasn't all that addressed when, in ASOS, Tormund asks Jon what the f his problem was with getting it on with Ygritte? And Jon was like, "Dude, don't want a bastard kid," and Tormund was all, "WTF is wrong with bastards? As long as they're healthy, it's all good, look at yourself!" and Jon had nothing to reply with? And he and Ygritte eventually have quite a few sexy times? With Jon not ruminating on getting her pregnant with a bastard child? You know, that development in Jon's character development? Or did I imagine that part of ASOS?
Anyway, let's congratulate Jonsas for apparently never ever thinking Dany was pregnant to the point where they come up with a despicable contingency plan <3

saw a tweet saying lucerys shed first blood during the dance of dragons & im just asking for a friend why people think the dance started over ae/mond's eye & not, as stated so many times, the greens violently usurping rhaenyra's throne
they also said a 6 year old lucerys, the second son of the heir apparent of westeros, should have been sent to castle black because of it LOL
