Reading the novel entirely, and I genuinely have no idea what people have been saying about Jennette. She’s so, so sad in the novel. She’s jealous of Athy, and her crush on Ijekiel is so cute, and Jen hasn’t lashed out at Athy at all until the very end when all of her anxiety and bottled up emotions burst and I’m in pain. She’s just a sad and lonely girl in the novel. She has such complex feelings because she loves Athy so much, but she can’t help but feel insecure and then the other girls bring up that Ijekiel met with a mysterious girl who was Athy in disguise and it makes her so sad and that makes me so sad.

Like genuinely, how am I supposed to think Novel Jen is a selfish villain?

“It was cold. And it was lonely. However, there was no one here who would care to keep her warm. Jennette raised her hands to cover her eyes. For the first time in her life, the fear of being completely alone devoured her.” (After encountering Claude)

“I’ll be shunned, imprisoned, tortured, or who knows what they do with criminals nowadays.” The spirit gave a small shrug. “But knowing Wu, he’d probably keep me in the Monastery, insists those prized ninjas of his’ to give me a chance.”

“Possible. However you’ll be reunited with your former mentor; a second chance, to make up your rights, gain their trusts, recover the time that was wasted decades ago, and even gain a new family, if destiny will choose to be your friend. What’s your reason for stating that it was better for your fate to end this way?” Soul shifted his attention to Morro.

“Hm.. well, I can only think of two reasons so far.”

“And those are?”

“Wu has his own family now, I will only cause a huge ruckus if I were to be forced alongside them. And speaking of family,” he paused before turning to where the trio where; Bansha wrestling with Ghoultar with a hearty laugh, while Wrayth was cheering the lady as well as insulting the ghostly skeleton. “I’ve already found mine.”

The answer surprised the archer but didn’t show it. Normal people wouldn’t notice it, but it was quite easy for the spirit to notice that subtle smile on the former general’s face as he watched the others. It’s unexpected and new to him for Morro to show such emotion.

A Thornless Rose

“I saw it growing in our backyard despite never having planted roses before, so I want to give it to you, maybe bring it to school?” asked the father tenderly, “Humor, an old man, would you?” Morro only chuckled upon hearing that. She nodded, accepting her father’s request. “Goodbye, Father.” “Be careful, Morro.” Outside, she inspected the rose more carefully. It has already grown but still hasn’t fully bloomed.

Grown but hardly bloom. Never planted in the first place, but still able to grow healthy. How cute…

On the other day, she will overanalyze the strange flower. On another day, she will look at it intensely and try to figure out how the plant can grow despite never being planted. But today, she holds that rose tightly but carefully. Today, she looks at the thornless rose with warm eyes. Today, she accepted that rose fully.

What if Wu's "finish the training course before I finish my tea" thing came from Morro?

Morro was getting better and better at the training course and one day he made a bet with wu: "I bet I can finish the training course before you finish your tea"

And he did it. So Wu asked him to do it again, double or nothing style, but this time he made his tea faster and Morro failed. So he trained, and he got better, and he challenged Wu again and won. Eventally it became a habit, a regular part of Morro's training until morro was zipping through the course and wu was making and drinking tea at lightning speed.

And so when Wu takes on a new student years later he tries the challange, except he was so used to Morro being incredibly good and having to drink his tea incredibly fast to the point where he had given his new student a near impossible test
