Pigs are Cannibals

Okay so today I went to a ranch with a large group of small children (I mean like kindergarteners) to supervise and we went on a tour of the animals because that is what you do, right? Well, on the tour we stopped by a mama pig with her piglets, actually multiple of them. During this pig pen viewing, she starts to talk about the diet of these pigs to these really young kids. She says that pigs aren’t just herbivores, but omnivores as well and starts to explain that a bit more. I don’t remember the exact wording but it was something like this.

“So yes, pigs have very sharp teeth. They can all attack quite quickly, so if one of our chickens gets in the pen, that chicken is their next meal. Also, pigs sometimes can eat other pigs. If there was a dead pig in that pen, the others would eat it very quickly. If a pig becomes injured, we have to clean up the blood then take the pig out because if we didn’t the pig would be eaten alive.”

Also, I saw some pigs reproducing in the corner of the pen.

Great trip to take with kindergarteners. I want the children of the future to experience that.

In the second grade, my teacher made us all do yoga and then do this entire dance every day. In my current high school, they want us to submit videos to put in the background during assemblies AND HOI HOI DO THEY LOVE SOME GRATITUDE. I could start a revolution, I have all of this unknown power. I could just watch hundreds of people around me doing this dance. Whenever I hear my head of school talk about gratitude or anyone online talk about gratitude, I feel this dance in my soul.
