Giant majestic jellyfish are pretty funny.

Humans will look at them and flinch and go wtf that’s huge or shiver or tear up, mouth gaping, understanding in that moment wonder of the universe and the mortifying ordeal of being alive and feeling and coexisting amongst so many unimaginable living things. Hope the community has moved past the yellow Frisk excuses. ‘Frisk is meant to have an emoticon face, like they’re a clean slate and anything the player wants’ this feels like the same line of thinking of Frisk being the gender of the players choice anyway- which has now been proven false Frisk is nonbinary and presumably uses gender neutral pronouns like Chara & Kris.

If Frisk is meant to have emoji face because they’re the playable one and they represent everyone - shouldn’t Chara also be yellow since we literally name them and presumably the narrator or at least experiencing your gameplay at the same time? Literally no reason for Frisk not to be tan or brown - the eyes would still be questionable but it would be more like Brock Pokémon at least. Why can’t the audience/ player feel connected to a brown character regardless of their own skin? I don’t mean to sound pressed about this because I’m not bothered by accepting that this part of the game is dated, I just avoid the yellow skin in fan art myself like many others, but the excuses in fandom annoy me - that U science thread used to have me seething, iykyk

The hard truth about autism acceptance that a lot of people don't want to hear is that autism acceptance also inherently requires acceptance of people who are just weird.

And yes, I mean Those TM people. Middle schoolers who growl and bark and naruto run in the halls. Thirtysomethings who live with their parents. Furries. Fourteen-year-olds who identify as stargender and use neopronouns. Picky eaters. Adults in fandoms. People who talk weird. People who dress weird.

Because autistic people shouldn't have to disclose a medical diagnosis to you to avoid being mocked and ostracized for stuff that, at absolute worst, is annoying. Ruthlessly deriding people for this stuff then tacking on a "oh, but it's okay if they're autistic" does absolutely nothing to help autistic people! Especially when undiagnosed autistic people exist.

Like it or not, if you want to be an ally to autistic people, you're going to have to take the L and leave eccentric, weird people alone. Even if you don't know them to be autistic. You shouldn't be looking for Acceptable Reasons to be mean to people in the first place. Being respectful should be the default.

BRITAIN PAY ATTENTION

MPs in the House of Commons are currently voting on whether to sit privately for the vote on a ceasefire in Gaza. If passed, the public will not be able to access the live proceedings of this vote. The public galleries will be emptied and all cameras will stop broadcasting.

The public will go blind. The last time a private sitting happened was in 2001.

The fact they are only now using their ability to have private sittings for a vote that would, even temporarily, end the slaughter of potentially millions of people is a fucking disgrace. This is shameful.

Mixed emotions about staticmoth; I am actually on the side of vox and velvette turning on Val tbh. I think a rapist/ sexual abuser is a much harder to accept or forgive evil and a whole different playing field compared to a prideful big brother is watching u type villain.

Vox is definitely meant to be charismatic, even kind of likeable despite being a villain - that’s owned to his va and his asshole businessman sensibleness compared with his over the top Alastor rivalry, it’s fun. He’s like ‘silly’. I’m not rooting for him but there’s some enjoyment in seeing his brand of evil.

Valentino is captivating and his va does a great job - even his design is really cool, but I feel dread more than anything especially when a scenes to do with Angel.

I think if these two were planned to be dating they shouldn’t have made Vox as likeable as he is - or Velvette either, who I find pretty hard to dislike either, shes mean but she serves.

Or maybe Vox and Velv should be more explicit enablers? Idk to me this kind of muddies the seriousness of Vals behvaiour. I think HH otherwise did a good job in showing Angel as a survivor and sex worker, but this not so much, though I know people will disagree and that’s fair too. This may come up next season, maybe Vox might be more vehemently supportive of Val even in front of Angel - though me personally I hope the opposite happens.
