Witchcraft 101: Alcohol & Magic
Alcohol has been present in human society for thousands of years, and let’s be honest, it’s not going anywhere.  As well as being a tool to loosen one’s inhibitions, alcohol can also be a tool in witchcraft and, like most tools and ingredients, different beverages have different associations.

🍎🌾Stuffed Apples for Mabon🌾🍎
Tumblr media
Happy Mabon my greenies! I’m so happy to bring this recipe for you to enjoy during this festive time. Like all my recipes, these can be used with or without a chant, you can create your own, or if you’re not a practitioner. I want to bring joy and comfort for this time of year. This is a recipe I used last year and decided to post it for y’all. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
5 Apples (I use honeycrisp)
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch ground nutmeg
Dash of vanilla
For Topping
¼ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup old fashioned oats
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch sea salt
3 tbsp unsalted butter
Directions
First cut off the tops of the apples and core them. Make sure you spoon out the insides and save them. (Also save all peels to use as offerings or compost) Use the inside of the apple and cut into small ¼ inch chunks.
Mix together the apple chunks, cornstarch, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Put into the apple and make sure you leave a little space for the crumble topping. While mixing these ingredients, think on all you’re thankful for and fill the apples with love and hope.
Cut up the butter into little pieces and put some inside the apple. Then mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt and place on top of the apple. While mixing, you can say the chant below or your own. Use the rest of the butter to sprinkle on top of the apples.
Preheat ovan at 375 degrees F and place apples onto a covered baking sheet. Cover the tops of the apples with foil and bake for 15 min and the uncover and bake for 20. Wait at least 10 minutes before eating and enjoy with some ice cream.
Chant: While fog may cast in front of my eyes, the breeze of fall trails with browning leaves. A warm hand on my back and wisp of hair, let my future shine. Let my love rejoice and my mind rest with ease. My life, my hope, my dream.
Once again my lovelies, happy Mabon to you and your loved ones. I hope that with the shifting of seasons, brings change to our society.
With all my love,
Kenzie

Beware of Pagan Extremism
There are things that I've begun noticing more and more of lately in the online Pagan/witchcraft communities, that I feel like are worrisome and should be addressed more.
As more and more people are turning to Paganism/Heathenry in the modern age, with or without any background in any of the organized religions, this is something that we all must be aware of, new as well as experienced practitioners.
Extremism, in any way, shape, or form, is not a good thing!
Religious extremism tends to shed a negative light on Muslims, particularly those from the Middle East. But the fact is, religious extremism exists in every religion across the globe. Terrorisms committed by religious zealots aren't restricted to Islam. Just because they don't make the news as much, doesn't mean they aren't happening all over the world, and doesn't mean there's no damage done by them. Pagan extremism is no less dangerous, and no less detrimental to the people inside and outside the community.
Extremism and zealotry don't make one more pious, more devout, more dedicated, more devoted, and more Pagan. Extremism and zealotry lead to cults, and nothing good comes of them.
In my many years of worshipping a multitude of deities (the Greek Pantheon in particular), I can say this with confidence: a true deity that's worth worshipping will never ask you to do anything that would hurt yourself or others. It's quite the opposite, actually. Deities will go out of their ways to keep their devotees from doing any such things. The deities whom I've grown close to over the years are friendly, protective, and nurturing beings who return love and affections. They don't pull their divine statuses to demand veneration or induce fear. They will bring themselves down to your level with their humor and honesty, and they don't remind you constantly that they're ancient, divine, godly beings. They don't manipulate. They don't beat anyone into submission. They don't make you feel like they're always going to be better than you because they're gods, and that you'll never be good enough in their eyes because you're mortal. They don't care if there are people who don't believe in them and never worship them, and it certainly doesn't bother them that most of us are more devoted to some of them than others.
I know I joke about how I communicate with the gods all the time, but it's really not that far fetched from reality. They make my life easier, not harder. They would never push me in harm's way and laugh about it. They would never hurt me to amuse themselves. They would never make me do anything against my will for their sakes.
So if you find yourself doing things that you shouldn't be doing, things that are morally/ethically wrong, things that you aren't comfortable with, in the names of your deities, then it is time to stop and think. If you're isolating yourself and alienating your family and friends, if you're feeling miserable, restrained, and always afraid because of your deity, then it is time to heed the warning signs. If your deity is demanding sacrifices from you and pushing you into danger, or expecting from you actions that will harm you or those around you, or keeping you committed to them by means of fear, it is most likely that you're not dealing with a deity. A deity will never try to control their devotees, because there is no need for them to, to begin with. A deity makes people want to follow them and worship them by simply being themselves, by being who they are and the way they are, by representing what they do and giving what they have to offer. A deity knows their existence and presence alone are enough. A relationship with a deity should never involve any subjugation. So if your deity is resorting to drastic and unhealthy measures to make you stay with them, it is not a deity. You either need to cut ties and sever the relationship as soon as possible (by force/get help if necessary), or take a closer look at your mental health and perhaps seek the guidance of a medical professional.
If your deity is physically and/or emotionally abusive to you, if your deity is making you do anything that you don't want to do, it is not normal, and it is not ok! Get away from whatever that thing is, and the people who are telling you otherwise! Those who promote such things are not only deluded and possibly twisted, but also dangerous. Do not become a part of any religious extremism. It never ends well!

Witchy Crafts
I’ve been scouring pinterest lately for witchy crafts, and here are some I’ve found, along with what I would use them for!
Wall Hanging - Okay so I made a really cool wall hanging for someone a while ago, and with their permission, I enchanted it to bring motivation, happiness, and warmth to their space. I feel like you could do the same with any wall hanging. I added braids, chestnut halves, and even color coordinating yarn to make mine.
Star Light Garland - Great for Cosmic Witches! Or for those of you who need a little light around your altar, around your bed for soft light, etc.
Flower Candle Holders (Plaster Dipped Flowers) - Yes, you can buy these already made, but aren’t the ones linked so awesome? I think it makes perfectly preserved flowers to keep all year, and the flame of the candle might help draw their energy out!
Concrete Dragon Egg Candle Votives - While we’re on the topic of candle holders, why not take a look at these amazing ‘dragon egg’ ones? If you work with dragon spirits, or really any animal/creature spirit with eggs, it will look amazing on your altar!
Watercolour Painted Pillow - For all of you who use magic to work your way into your dreams, or are looking for a fun way to calm yourself before bed, try this! You can even paint it with moon water!
Dream/Wish Jar - All you have to do is write down your dreams/wishes on the paper of your choice, and throw them in a jar. I suggest making matching sigils for each one, and burning them at the full moon. I made one, and it looks so cute in my room! Super great for hidden witches!
Moon Rocks - I know, I know, not exactly a moon rock, but if you make these with moon water in place of regular water, and charge them under the full moon, they could stand in for the moon on cloudy nights, charge your crystals, etc.
DIY Essential Oil Diffuser Necklaces - Obviously, this is a really inconspicuous way to use essential oils! You could wear one for protection when you’re feeling unsafe, attract love on the days you want too, and even give them away as gifts to other witches!
DIY Detoxifying Activated Charcoal Soap - Okay, but how much witchery could you do with these? So much!! After you are finished cursing, or perhaps on the night of a full moon, you could scrub up with this and get all kinds of cleansed!
Ombre Mermaid Soap - All the yes. Sea witches could use this in Mermaid beauty bath spells, or give it up as an offering! They’re so pretty, and with a little enchantment, could be magical!
Jellyfish in a Bottle - Do you interact with spirits of the sea? Maybe Jellyfish? Then go ahead and capture their beauty with this awesome DIY, and use the bottle as a spirit vessel for your jellyfish guests!
Mini Natural Brushes (Brooms) - These are great for on the go witchery, or for painting out your spells. You can keep dried ‘brushes’ in mini altar kits to use as a besom, or use them as brushes for making sigils, etc.
Lay-Flat Storage Mat - Divination Supplies, witchy spell kits, enchanted jewelry- the opportunities are endless! Use black to keep the energy locked inside, and paint or draw sigils on it for an added boost!
DIY Hand Cast - Make your own palmistry guide using this neat craft. You can cast your hand and paint on it however you’d like!
Pressed Flower Candles - Preserve the beautiful energy of almost any flower by creating a candle with it! Burn the candle when you need the herb or flowers energy for your spell, and Make as many as you can while the flowers are blooming!
Wind Chimes - Perfect for alerting you of potential intruders, Wind chimes placed inside can add a natural, as well as witchy, flair to your space. If you hear it, but there is no wind, you’ll know someone has come to visit!
DIY Candles - Add your energy as you make these candles for a boost in your spells. There’s even a ‘Sprinkes’ candle you can enchant to grant wishes, and you can light this every year on your birthday.
Bird’s Nests - Yes, you can make a nest of your own! Using special herbs, you can make a home fit for a spirit, or use it as a shrine to the Air element.
Wooden Spoons (Personalized) - With a wood burner and some concentration, you too can make a Kitchen Wand! Enchant soups and pastas with special energy with your very own wooden Spoon Wand!
Gazing Ball - So, this isn’t exactly a crystal ball, but it will work just like a scrying mirror. Simply follow the directions, and, if you wish, exclude the additions to the sphere. Then, you’re good to go!
DIY Succulent Planters - Green witches, I got a DIY for you, too! Make these succulent planters, and put them near a window, especially if your altar is near by. They’ll provide protection and hardiness to your home and its defense systems!
Crystal Candle Votives - These crystals are 100% made by you. You can give them special intentions and colour them accordingly. Have fun making your own set of crystals!
Paper Leaf Garland - A little bit of nature for your altar! I know it isn’t real, but for those of you who can’t grow a plant near your altar, it will work beautifully!
Wish Bracelets -  I loved mine when I had it! They’re super fun to wear, and will be a discreet witchy project for you to try. Just make a wish, and wait for it to fall off!
Rustic Twig Ornaments - Use these as wards throughout your home, and enchant them to bring you whatever you need.
Button Bicycles - To help your spell get going, throw in a button bicycle! Use it inside poppets, sachets, etc.
Packaging Tape Image Transfers - These can help you label your herbs, crystals, and spell jars! Have fun coming up with cute designs and whimsical fonts!
Paper Envelopes - For those of you who send letters, write them, or use envelopes in your spells, you can create them using paper with this method!

A method to Cleanse and Ward after unsavory people visit your house
Personally, I wait 15 minutes to ensure they haven’t forgotten anything (it’s a long, painful wait, I know. Just bear with it!) and then get straight to work!
First off;
If they ate or drank at your house:
DO NOT save any leftovers from that meal, as it is now connected to them. Use it instead in the compost heap to help further along your garden.
Rinse down the dishes they used with vinegar first, spritz with sage-infused water, then proceed to washing the dishes normally.
And now if they did not eat or drink at your house
Open all doors and windows to air out the house.
Light some incense (honestly any will do at this point your just trying to make sure their scent doesn’t linger)
The couch or chair they were sitting on needs to be thoroughly vacuumed.
After vacuuming the couch or chair, cast a consecrated circle around the object and banish their energy from it.
Lightly mist with moonwater and place energized crystals in a spiral in said area.
Dust the House.
Sweep the floors and collect any trash, immediately taking it out.
Wash down all tabletops and counter surfaces with vinegar.
Wash the floors and walls with a mix of lavender/sage/moonwater.
Vacuum the carpets and rugs.
Smudge.
Squeeze out some garlic juice from 3 cloves of garlic and rub into ground outside of door (3 cloves per door).
Mix lemon juice with a drop of peppermint oil and use it to draw a line on the door frame, both sides; make sure you left no line breaks!
Rub a touch of dogwood oil on the outside doorknob.
Recharge your witch balls!
Air out your dreamcatchers if you have any!
If they sat down on your bed
Ohhhhhh boy oh boy oh boy. Guess who’s about to wash their sheets?
Surprise it’s you!
Wash your sheets.
Wash your comforter.
Wash the pillowcases.
Wash the pillows.
Wash the mattress pad.
Vacuum the mattress.
Mist lightly with moonwater.
Place energized crystals where they sat in a spiral.
Optional; write their name on an egg, take it outside, and crush it beneath your heel.
Can be a curse or just an emotional outlet, either way; it feels pretty good.
“But what if I don’t have all those incenses and oils and moonwater???”
Silly, just air out your house and clean it top to bottom using regular cleaning supplies!
If it helps, you can also say the following;
“Your body left my house,  Now, your spirits can too. And by ‘can’ I mean ‘will’, It’s time for all of you to leave.
You’ve worn out your welcome, When you never had any at all, Out the door with you lot, Away you go, away!
May you never return here! May you never come back! I banish you from this threshold! Now get the fuck outta my house.”

Stuck in the City: Forest Witch Edition
It can be difficult to do witchcraft and connect to nature when stuck in a supremely urban area such as a downtown of a major city where even parks are hard to come by and collecting items there could be considered vandalism. This masterpost is to help all of you stuck witches who wish to be Forest Witches, connect with the forest or use forest related magic despite your urban setting.

Making Your Own Sanctuary
Let’s start with the simple beginnings of turning your home a bit more foresty so you can have your own sanctuary of nature in your home. Whether this be an altar, a corner of a room or even a full room is up to you and the amount of space you have to work with. In my post here I will be referring to setting up a space that would be considered big enough to sit in for meditation and spells and altar space, if you have more room than that feel free to definitely expand it!
