Based on a novel by Kathryn Sockett with the same name
This movie is three-dimensional. Not only it deals with institutional racial segregation, it also deals with femininity and class issue as well as how the two are impacted by the segregation. On the other hand, the story is told and put in a great manner.
One of the best shows out there. It perfectly balances comedy and drama. As well, the show features social commentaries. B99 is perfectly packaged. I love how the characters' personal matters still get portion in the show yet not too much as if to shift the focus from the 99th Precinct matters. In addition, each characters are so stand out yet they harmonize perfectly. Since the main theme of B99 is police procedural, this show also features some action scenes. It is nice to see a comedy packaged with drama and action in it while maintaining the comedy theme perfectly.
Personally, this show can be considered as my comfort show. The main focus of this show is something that is close to me on a daily basis, something that I counter with everyday. Modern Family has made me feel that I am not alone in this world with family issues, since everywhere I look at, especially my friends, they all seem like have harmonious family. Although that may be the surface only, Modern Family has assured me the reality of the world we live in is no perfect, including our own family. This show has showed me that it is okay to not have the perfect family and be stuck with them because not everything that happens in this world is under our control.
Moreover, the time I watch this show was when I am almost at the end of my school-university-study life and about to face the real world. The trial-and-errors that Haley had and the meltdown that Alex had, all represent something that I feel during this specific period of time. Especially, Haley, her experience taught me that it is okay to not everything in my life figured out yet the moment you graduated from school and it is okay to not be financially independent immediately. All that matters is that you do not stop trying from pursuing your goals and dreams. Her experience has showed me that it is okay to not have the perfect woman life that fictional stories or media depict us.
Based on British serial "The Office" by: Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant
Just like popular comment, this show is a bit off during the first season. It gets more and more better as the show goes on and eventually reaches its peak in season 5, for me personally. The show is as well full of life wisdom and messages, they have helped me through. Not to mention that this show is a meme stock. The plot is awesome and its comedy is something else.
I don't have much reference on thriller and crime serial but I would recommend this for you if you're looking for one. I consider this as one of my favorite. The show is packed well and perfectly.
This show is insane. One of the best sitcoms out there. This is genius comedy. Nevertheless, I'd classify this show as an 'exclusive' show, in a sense that this show tends to be understood by certain groups of people. Those who understand academic settings, for example.
This show is like a reminder to me that I don't have to be totally perfect in order for me to have fun. It is actually my choice to just grab in the moment and start to have my own fun.
This show is beyond amazing. It got all its comedy. It got all its authentic-ness. It got all its life wisdom message, especially in love life. It got its perfect drama. This show is honestly very personal to me.
