Hello there! I was just wondering....when is the next chapter of "Welcome to the Wonderworld!"?

Woah! I just realized you messaged me! Honestly I’m less “working on the chapter” than I am grazing it. My minds all over the place most of the time and it’s very hard to concentrate. I might even end up writing other things, but don’t take that as me giving up on the Wonderworld fanfic!

You know what, since it takes so long to finish a chapter and you ask I’ll post the draft pages I’ve done so far. Just don’t treat it like the final product lol.

Rewriting Welcome to the Wonderworld

So I made a (probably poor) decision: I’m going to redo all the chapters I’ve done from chapter two onwards.  Releasing chapters as soon as I finished them worked when I was able to finish them in a week, but now I’ve gotten back into drawing and gaming and I got a puppy and the farther I am from writing the harder it is getting back into it.  So rather than holding my nose and forcing myself to write I’m going to do it fresh and write at my own pace.

If you’re interested in archiving the chapters 2-9 of this work you’re free to download or archive however you feel like until the end of this Saturday, June 19th.  Come the 20th it’ll be gone.

Fanfiction in the Comments

I recently got a lot of reception (which is great!) but I also got an interesting phenomenon. Someone has been putting their own fanfic based off my fic in the comments. I have mixed emotions because on the one hand I’m flattered but on the other this reminds me of that time I asked a certain webcomic creator if I could novelize their work and am having war flashbacks.

I’m glad it’s there, but I don’t know if I should really comment on it when the comment segment should really be dedicated to talking about the actual fanfic. But I’m not going to remove it either. I just think if you’re going to take the time to write your own work, don’t hide it in my comment section! Almost any fanfic writer would be happy to see fanfiction inspired by their own.

It’ll be pride month soon so imagine I’m your football coach hyping you up for the Big Game. Fighting over each other about “antis” and “anti-antis” is OVER. We are going to love each and respect others boundaries and not be manipulated by bad-faith actors into eating our own. Don’t focus on the outliers who set a bad example, focus on what you love and what you enjoy. If you come across people who belittles or threatens you by all means block and report them but don’t you waste even a SECOND more on them. This is YOUR pride month and you are going to have FUN are we clear!?

Heya! I changed my original post. You were right, I should have thought of that. It’s just that I don’t care to be upfront unless it’s absolutely needed since I know some people are triggered just by hearing the term. But then again, it’s the same with the word “freak” right?

It’s good to keep in mind that not every prude like me is criticizing in good faith. And some people will take any chance to kick minorities and queers in the mud. It’s why I absolutely dread any purge because somehow it’s going to target minority writers first and whoops the one written by a known predator is still up. It’s one thing to come across a fic that shows a heavy subject in a very poor or even exploitive way and go like 😬, but beware anyone who makes it their brand identity to go after 13-year olds still in the closet for their problematic ships.

You sound like you’d be interested in this video by Ms. Lola about “Call Me By Your Name” which discusses the movie beyond the one thing it’s now known for and how it brings into the forefront homophobia disguised as “think of the children.”

I know I often sound like a prude wagging my finger at everyone whose ankles show, but I do think that MOST people who consume and distribute n*fw work (or as I like to call it “nesfawoo”) are mature enough to differentiate between what’s appropriate in fiction and what’s appropriate in reality. When suspension of disbelief kicks in nesfawoo works can be interesting and a fun look, so long as everyone involved knows their boundaries.

Honestly my real gripe is usually with websites who can’t seem to prevent minors from seeing nesfawoo works or freaks from interacting with minors without purging everything like tumblllllllr did in 2018...which still didn’t work! The freaks are still on here talking to minors and I’m like 🔪🔪🔪

Anyway just wanted to make it clear that the last thing I’d ever want is for Ao3 to be purged like Tuuuubpe was. But that doesn’t mean we can’t demand better from the website in how it distributes its work. It might seem impossible but it’d be callous to say that means we shouldn’t even try. I want everyone to be able to enjoy what they want without it being a detriment to others safety and well-being.

They could have it so you’re opting into explicit/mature content rather than be forced to opt out. I prefer a system where you actively curate what you want over having to actively seek out things to avoid. I don’t understand why that isn’t the standard.

EDIT: I initially used the term “freak” because I saw that word used a lot when referring to predators or people defending their ships between 50 year-olds and 13 year olds so I just picked it up. However after some feedback about how the term freak was often given to queer and LGBT folks (which I knew but it just didn’t cross my mind) I decided to just tell it like it is, even if the word predator makes me barf a little.
