Watching return of the king with a friend, at the part where Sam is crying over Frodo's mummified body.
Me: crying over Sam's "don't go where I can't follow
@beefox15: frodo looks like one of those Russian nesting dolls
Me, through both tears and laughter: this is supposed to be an emotional moment, beefox!

The Sandman Liveblog
hi i watched all of Sandman in one day; instead of separate posts, i’ve put my liveblog under the cut. spoilers, obviously.
Ep 1
1) Dream cool 2) Alex deserved better 3) the Corinthian freaks me out bc of the eyes, which is something I knew going in, but still. Eye stuff is so not my thing 4) Lucienne my beloved
Ep 2
1) fates are really cool 2) lucienne is the best 3) Cain & able have given me no coherent thoughts but plenty of emotion 4) dream is a sad little man and I love him
ep 3
1) lucienne remains the best 2) Johanna Constantine is cool 3) matthew the raven is... interesting. I'm not sure of my feelings about him bc if he was a human(esque) character, I would dislike him for personality reasons, but the fact that he's a bird is throwing me off 4) dream still cares so much, despite having been given the worst humanity has to offer. He's still kind, and I love that for him
ep 4
1) Rosemary deserves better 2) Lucifer is very cool 3) the duel is pretty neat; what kills hope indeed 4) I do not like John Burgess
ep 5
1) john is fucking terrifying 2) the fates are fucking awesome 3) I love dream very much 4) the way he deals with john at the end is so cool
ep 6
1) DEATH 2) hob gadling 3) the first constantine 4) "people are almost always better than you think they are" 5) the fuck is up with desire?
ep 7
1) lucienne again! 2) unity is neat, and I love rose 3) the entire cast of characters at the bnb is hilarious and I love them
ep 8
1) gault is actually really cool & I love her 2) fuck the corinthian very much 3) fuck barnaby even more bc I have Opinions about the foster care system and people like him are the reason for them
ep 9
1) at least fun land died 2) fiddler's green is pretty cool & I love him 3) dream is learning! I feel like a proud parent; he admitted he was wrong 4) rose my beloved 5) lyta my beloved
ep 10
1) this was a very nice finale. All the storylines closed out nicely 2) I still want to know wtf Desire's deal is but I suppose I'll just have to wait 3) this really was just very sweet; I liked it
Dream of 1000 cats: This little ep was adorable; I have nothing much to say beyond that though lol
Calliope: I think this is my favorite story in this whole show. I, once again, have very many emotions and no coherent thoughts

part 6 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
The Return of the King Pt 2
Frodo: "I can't go back."
He's been abandoned by gollum and he sent sam away so he's alone and w/o hope
Galadriel: "The light of Elendil. May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out."
"Take heart Merry. It will soon be over." "My lady, you are fair and brave and much to live for, and many who love you. I know it is too late to turn aside. I know there is not much point now in hoping. If I were a knight of Rohan, capable of Great Deeds… but I'm not. I'm a hobbit. And I know I can't save Middle Earth. I just want to help my friends. Frodo, Sam. Pippin. More than anything… I wish I could see them again."
Denethor really really really sucks ngl
Sam returns with the star and Hope
But he thinks Frodo is dead. "Don't go where I can't follow."
The world of men will fall, but then rohan will arrive
"Arise! Arise! Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword-day! A red day! Ere the sun rises!" … "Ride now. Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending!"
"I didn't think it would end this way." "End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path. One that we all must take. The gray rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it." "What, Gandalf? See what?" "White shores. And beyond, the far green country, under a swift sunrise." "Well, that isn't so bad." "No. No, it isn't."
Aragorn and his ghosts turn the tide of the battle
Eomer's SCREAM of grief when he thinks his sister is dead
Pippin scouring the battle field for Merry because he has hope that he is still alive
Aragorn releasing the ghosts despite how much they might have helped in the future
Faramir and Eowyn deserve the world
Pippin still searching for Merry in the dead of night
Sam took the ring because he thought that Frodo was dead
Sam'd hope is frodo and frodo's hope is sam
"I've sent him to his death." "No, there is still hope."
Arwen's pendent shatters, causing Aragorn to lose a little bit of faith that he will see her again
Eowyn: “the city is grown quiet. There is no warmth left in the sun."
Faramir: “Tis just the damp of the first spring rain. I do not believe this darkness will endure”
Aka faramir and eowyn deserve everything
The ring is beginning to weigh on frodo more
"Mr. Frodo, look! There is like, and beauty up there, that no shadow can touch."
They're told that frodo is dead
Aragorn: I do not believe it. I will not.
He still has hope in frodo
"Hold your ground! Hold your ground. Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"
Frodo crawling up mount doom to a variation on the shire theme
"Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an elf." "What about side by side with a friend." "Aye. I could do that."
"Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo?" "No Sam, I can't recall the taste of food."
Frodo has no hope
"Then let us be rid of it, once and for all. Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!"
"For Frodo!" Aragorn charges first.
"You swore! Your swore on the precious! Smeagol promised!" "Smeagol lied."
The eagles come, giving hope after the nazgul appeared
The ring takes frodo completely, destroying sam's hope
Frodo FAILS!!! The ring is destroyed because gollum happens to trip backwards into the lava
Frodo has lost hope. Sam has just regained it. "Don't you let go."
The ring is destroyed, sauron is fallen. Their hope has paid off
Frodo and sam make it ot an outcropping; now that the ring is gone, frodo has hope of seeing the shire again
"I'm glad to be with you, samwise gamgee, here at the end of all things."
He has woken up and he sees gandalf first. He is well and truly free of the ring
Aragorn's coronation marks the new age and the dawn of a new hope
& he gets arwen!
"My friends, you bow to no one." because you brought us hope when there was no hope left
They go back to the shire and the fellowship is split for real this time because they are no longer bound by common purpose even thought found family splitting up at the end of the series is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard
They are out of place in the shire now that they have toured the world and seen so much death
This is a departure from the books, where the shire was taken
Sam has hope for Rosie now; they get married and while Aragorn's coronation was the hope for the world, Sam's wedding is the hope for the four hobbits
Four years later, Frodo and Bilbo go down to the harbor to go with the elves to the undying lands, where they have hope of being free of the shadow of the ring once and for all
Bilbo's book, "There and Back Again: a Hobbit's Tale" is the first part, then Frodo wrote "The Lord of the Rings" and there is space for Sam left, the hope that Sam will live a long and happy life
They all say goodbye
And sam returns home to his wife and children and the hope for the future

part 5 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
The Return of the King Pt 1
The ring entrances Smeagol from the beginning; he destroys his friendship & chance for the hope of contact for his "precious."
The days are growing darker. Hope is getting further and further from reach
"I've rationed it. There should be enough." "Enough for what?" "For the journey home."
Sam still has hope of going home, hope that Frodo has lost
"We shall have peace... We shall have peace, when you answer for the burning of the Westfold, and the children that lie dead there! We shall have peace, when the lives of the soldiers whose bodies were hewn even as they died against the gates of the Hornberg, are avenged! When you hang from a gibbit for the sport of your own crows...! We shall have peace."
They have hope in frodo. They have so much goddamn hope in frodo and i love them for it
Eowyn's dream: the darkness is coming, and she can do nothing to stop it.
Pippin and gandalf are leaving: "But we'll see each other soon, right?" "I don't know."
"I looked into your future and I saw death." "But there is also life." (And i saw life bitch) Arwen has hope in Aragorn and the future.
The tree will never bloom again but they guard it out of hope that the king will return
"There is no leaving this city. Help must come to us."
"It's just a feeling. I don't think I'll be coming back." "Yes you will. Of course you will. That's just morbid thinking. We're going there and back again, just like Mr. Bilbo. You'll see."
"Mr. Frodo, look! The king's got a crown again." from the light of the sun on the flowers on the statues head.
Pippin & Gandalf: "Is there any hope, Gandalf, for Frodo and Sam?" "There never was much hope. Only a fool's hope."
The beacons provide hope and they are the hope that rohan will provide aid
"The Beacons of Minas Tirith! The Beacons are lit! Gondor call for aid!" "And Rohan will answer. Muster the Rohirrim."
Eowyn to Aragorn: "You have given us hope."
Faramir and his men have no hope of surviving if they fight still at osgiliath so they retreat to minas tirith, a symbol of hope, and are saved by gandalf, yet another symbol of hope
"It is as Lord Denethor predicted! Long has he forseen this doom." "Forseen and done nothing."
"I did what I judged to be right." "You sent the Ring of Power into Mordor, in the hands of a witless halfling!"
Denenthor is blinded by power but Faramir has hope in Frodo
Gollum is trying to isolate frodo and destroy is trust and hope in sam
Denethor does not understand war and sacrifice, blinded by power as he is
Pippin and gandalf have no hope for faramir's retaking of osgiliath
Theoden has hope for more men; aragorn does not
"They will answer to the King of Gondor." (you will bring hope.)
"I give hope to men. I keep none for myself."
“He leaves because there is no hope." "He leaves because he must." … "We cannot defeat the armies of Mordor." "No, we cannot. But we will meet them in battle nonetheless."
Aragorn's hope is dwindling as the ghosts refuse to help him
It is lost when he leaves the caves and sees the boats he cannot stop
But then the ghosts come back to help
Denenthor has lost hope; not that he had any in the first place

part 4 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
The Two Towers Pt 2
Gimli's story about the dwarf women is finding joy even in the midst of terrible things
While i dislike the aragorn/arwen scenes, it is showing what aragorn is protecting, even though she is capable of protecting herself
"I will not have my daughter stay here to die." "She stays because she still has hope.""She stays for you."
Eowyn wants to fight for valor, not realizing that protecting her people is just as important; her motives for wanting to fight are not sympathized with
Helm's deep=hope
But do not place your hope in things, for they will fail you
Place your hope in people (Gandalf & his coming)
"Our people are safe. We have paid for it with many lives."
"There will be no dawn for men." (Saruman)
Dawn is light is hope
"There was a time when Saruman would walk in my woods, but now he has a mind for metal and wheels."
"Why do you linger here when there is no hope?" (Elrond) "There is always hope." (Arwen)
I have no real thought to put down except that i love faramir and his discussion of boromir's death is *chef's kiss*
People are not things to be used, denethor ii
Boromir is trying so hard to protect his people and please his father and save his country throughout the fellowship and i love him so much even though he fails
"No. My place is here, with my people. Not in Rivendell!" (boromir, to denethor about elrond's calling of the council)
Smeagol loses his faith in frodo, letting the corruption take hold again, letting Gollum back in
The ring is taking Frodo as well; the corruption of power is coming and frodo sees it coming and can't do anything to stop it
Faramir wants the ring, not to protect his people, or even really for the power, but to please his father
("A chance for Faramir, captain of Gondor, to prove his quality")
"If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end as to be worthy of remembrance" (Theoden, about the hopelessness of helm's deep)
Entmoot is happening, which hasn't happened for a terrible long count of years
Eowyn wants renown and valor and to fight because she doesn't recognize that fighting just to fight is no way of fighting at all
"They have no hope of winning. They're all going to DIE!" (legolas) "THEN I SHALL DIE AS ONE OF THEM!" (aragorn)
"Where is the horse and the rider?" where is hope? What hope do we have left? That whole speech is just… *chef's kiss*
Theoden gets a whole lot of great speeches and i love that for him
"To whatever end" loyalty content my beloved
Hollys, son of Hammon, milord. THe men are saying that we will not live out the night, that it is hopeless." "This is a good sword, Hollys, son of Hammon. There is always hope." (I know i don’t have the kid’s name right I’m sorry.)
The fight at Helm's Deep is them protecting what is most dear to them: their kingdom and their people.
"This is not our war." "But you're part of this world! Aren't you? You must do something!"
"And all that was once good and green in this world will be gone" (Merry, about Isengard destroying middle earth and the shire)
Hope is lost when they break through the gate and rohan falls back to the keep because they put their hope in material things and places instead of people
"The ring will not save Gondor. It has only the power to destroy."
"The Ents are going to war. It is likely we go to our doom. The Last March of the Ents.”: they go to war to avenge the fallen and to protect those still alive
Theoden has lost hope. "What can men do against such reckless hate?"
But then they find hope again, in one last desperate charge because they know gandalf is coming and they must protect their people.
"The horn of Helm Hammerhead shall sound in the deep, one last time. Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds await. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and a red dawn!" *The horn bellows* (Hope has returned and they will fight.)
The ring has corrupted frodo such that he is nearly overtaken
He's saved by Sam (hope & friendship) but doesn't recognize him
"It's me. It's your Sam. Don't you know your Sam?"
SAM'S SPEECH AJLFHK:SDLGHUS
"I can't do this, Sam."
“I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here, but we are. It's like the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really matter. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back tot he way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even when you were to small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't, because they were holding on to something."
"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."
And they set sam's speech against everyone's victories, against the darkness passing and a new day rising
Faramir recognizing that the ring will not give him the affirmation and power he desires and lets them go
"Captain Faramir, you have shown your quality, sir. The very finest."
"The Shire must truly be a great realm, where gardeners are held in high honor."
Aka the shire must be a place of peace, to have such peaceful jobs held in high honor
Faramir's battle isn't won, but he trusts in frodo to save everyone and end the war, even if he loses this battle
"The battle for Helm's Deep is over. The battle for Middle Earth has just begun. All our hopes now rest with two young Hobbits, somewhere in the wilderness."
Frodo and sam talking about stories and sam saying frodo will be the main character, to which frodo replies "You've left out one of the chief characters: Samwise the Brave. I want to here more about him. Frodo wouldn't have gotten very far without Sam."
Gollum doesn't have hope or friendship, so the power of the ring has the liberty to corrupt him.

part 3 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
The Two Towers pt 1
The salt from the shire: "It's a little bit of home."
Sometimes, despite our best intentions, things don't work out.
Gollum has been corrupted by power, so much so that he'll do anything for it.
"Maybe he does deserve to die, but now that i see him, I can't help but pity him."
"We swears to serve the master of the Precious. We swears… on the Precious!"
"The Ring is treacherous, but I'll hold you to your word."
Merry reassuring Pippin by pretending that he's ok so that Pip doesn't freak out
Saruman destroying everything for industry and "the machine of war."
Don't like the racism at play though; all the non-white humans ally with Sauron and Saruman and the evil side while all the white countries are good
the kid from Rohan and his sister running and their mom sending them away: war leaves no survivors
Evil can come from those close to us as well (grima wormtongue)
"You would die before your stroke fell" (Legolas & Gimli)
"But do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands" (Eomer about Rohan (and middle earth in general))
Did you know viggo mortenson broke his toe when he kicked the uruk hai helmet and that's why he screamed? Who am i kidding. Anyone bothering to read this will know that but it’s fun anyway.
But then aragorn finds the tracks leading to the forest and follows them on a fool's hope (and then real hope) that his friends are alive
"I'm on nobody's side, because nobody is on my side. Nobody cares for the woods anymore." (Treebeard)
Gollum used to be "not so very different from a hobbit, once" but the ring (evil and power) corrupted him
"I am Saruman. Or rather, Saruman as he should be." (Gandalf upon his return) because Saruman has been corrupted by power and evil
"He's not alone. Sam is with him." Hope and friendship is with Frodo and he has a chance
Aragorn stopping Theoden from killing Grima because "Enough blood has been spilled on his account."
Grief. The Funeral of Theodred my beloved. Eowyn singing the mourning song is just. My heart.
"He is only doing what he thinks is best for his people." I'm sensing some Theoden & Boromir parallels.
Gandalf giving them hope: "At dawn on the fifth day, look to the east" (or, something along those lines. This is not a direct quote
"Turn this fellow free. He has seen enough of war." Aragorn, about Theodred's horse. THis even helps him later when he falls into the river and the horse saves his life.
"Gandalf the White? Gandalf the Fool." i read a whole meta on how saruman is too high and mighty to be playful and foolish and that makes Gandalf a better person because he's willing to be playful and foolish and admit he's wrong
"This is not a defeat. We will return. (a beat) We will return." Theoden, before the city empties and goes to helm's deep
"What do you fear, milady?" "A cage."
Smeagol banished gollum and the darkness of the ring (but it comes back because you must have friendship and support to keep the corruption away and he doesn't have that.)
"His sense of duty was no less than yours. I wonder what his name was, where he came from, or if he was truly evil at heart…….War will make corpses of us all." What a way to introduce Faramir, son of Denethor II, my beloved

part 2 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
Fellowship of the Ring pt. 2
Aragorn's creeping fate and his mother's love
The evil is passed on: cycles
Arargorn leaving behind aarwen; she is the family let behind in war
Boromir teaching the hobbits to fight - war will come & the peace-lovers must be ready for it
The ring is drawing boromir; power is corrupting him
Also practical effects again; using a giant version of the ring to make the framing even better and more ominous
The mines of moria's massacre; even people who are not pacifist like the hobbits can be destroyed
"It was pity that staid Bilbo's hand" and the rest of the Gollum discussion
"Many who love deserve death, and many who have died deserve life. Can you grant it to them?" (20:00ish)
Power corrupted gollum and he wants it once more
"I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened." "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in the world besides the forces of evil."
Gandalf death is the first true setback, showing that sometimes the evil wins, but we mustn't give up because of it. ("YOU! SHALL NOT! PASS!" also "Fly, you fools!")
Aragorn, who has seen war, has compartmentalization down. "We must leave"
Boromir, who has lived war, knows people need a moment to process. ("Give them a moment, for pity's sake.)
"Gandalf's death was not in vain, nor would he have you give up hope. You carry a heavy burden, Frodo. Do not carry the weight of the dead."
Cate Blanchett Galadriel hot.
"For the world is now full of peril, and in all lands, love is now mingled with grief." (~50:00-ish)
"Yet hope remains" focusing on Sam because Sam is hope
52:00-ish - Aragorn & Boromir bonding over Boromir's love of Gondor, delving deep into Boromir's motives and explaining his character and the inevitable tragedy of his arc
"It is long since we had any hope."
"I would see the glory of Gondor restored."
His whole arc is about his desire for power (and thus, the ring) to protect his people.
"You are a ringbearer, Frodo. To bear a ring of power is to be alone." except he isn't alone because he has Sam aka hope and in return of the king when sam leaves is his darkest moment and then when he wants to give up fully sam is there to carry him and help him and good god FRIENDSHIP
Sam motherhenning Frodo (1:09:00-ish)
Boromir arguing with Aragorn over his fear of who he is and Aragorn arguing back that Gondor is failing and falling to the evil of mordor
Boromir had been overtaken by the ring, by power because he loves his people and desires the power to protect them
This leads to frodo using the power of the ring to get away and protect himself
Aragorn: "I swore to protect you" Frodo: "Can you protect me from yourself?"
"I would have gone with you to the end, to the very fires of Mordor"
"I know. Look after the others. Especially Sam. He will not understand."
Aragorn protecting Frodo, Merry and Pippin protecting Frodo
Everyone fighting to give Frodo a chance because the all have Hope
Boromir continuing to fight, even as a pincushion bc he has someone to protect, and, even thought he fails, he passes on his duty of protection to aragorn. (Gondor and Merry & Pippin)
"Then you did what I could not" is in reference to letting frodo go, but it also can refer to aragorn being able to protect/save merry and pippin and gondor
Boromir: "The world of men will fall, and all will come to darkness and such to ruin."
Aragorn: "I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the white city fall, nor our people fail."
Boromir: "Our people? Our people."
Pause. Aragorn puts Boromir's sword in his hands so that he can die with his weapon in hand.
Boromir: "I would have followed you, my brother, my captain… My king." (he dies)
Aragorn: "Be at peace, son of Gondor."
Sam running after Frodo so that he won't be alone
Frodo: I'm going to Mordor alone!
Sam: Of course you are. And I 'm coming with you!
"I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise! 'Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee.' And I don't mean to. I don't mean to."
"I don't suppose we'll ever see them again." "We may yet, Mr. Frodo. We may yet." (HOPE). "Sam, I'm glad you're here with me."

part 1 of my Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch “liveblog” that i am transcribing from my notebook a full month after the fact.
The Fellowship of the Ring, Pt 1
The hobbits are peace loving people
"But where our hearts truly lie is with peace… for all hobbits share a love of things that grow." (Bilbo, in Concerning Hobbits)
The long opening up to Bilbo's party (not including the prologue) just serves as counter to what they lose due to the evils of the world
The ring is Evil & Power & and all the dark parts of ambition
The special effects and practical effects help with this: they put a magnet in the floor so it wouldn't bounce, conveying the weight of that evil
Sam leaving the shire (or, "the furthest away from home I've ever been") is so thematically important (44:00ish in Fellowship extended)
The elves leaving, signifying the end of the ages previous
Saruman choosing sauron, and advancement at the cost of all else
"Don't you lose him, Samwise Gamgee, and I don't mean to." (aka friendship)
The nazgul, ring wraiths, who fell into darkness due to their greed
2nd breakfast is both funny and highlights the difference between peaceful hobbit life & the rest of the world's war (Keep your nose out of trouble and no trouble will come to you)
Frodo's stabbening on weathertop: it is truly a turning point for the hobbits
Saruman destroying isengard (and later fangorn forest) for "progress"
It feels like the thing is over. The ring is delivered and all and then the council happens and they leave again
Frodo because of duty and the rest because of friendship
Rivendell is in autumn to represent the changing of the ages
"I am ready to go home." Proceeds to not go home for another 10 hours of screentime.
"The time of elves is done." "The race of men is failing"
Boromir! My Beloved! & aragorn and boromir interacting (1:30:00 is for their first meeting)
"Then we are here on common purpose, friend."
Boromir wants the ring for the power it offers. To both please his father and protect his people; He wants so badly to protect his people
I odn't like the aragorn/arwen story but i do like the implications of that storyline and the themes it encompasses as well as Arwen agency and the story being told there.
I do like that the story doesn't 100% demonize boromir for wanting the ring for his people; Like, obv he's shown to be stupid and naive but his motives are not vilified; He wants the ring to protect his people and that is worthy
Aragorn does not seek power for power's sake' he waits to take his place as the king of gondor until he has no choice but to take it to save his friends
"One does not simply walk into Mordor" (one does not simply stop war by asking or doing 1 thing.) (Also meme)
Uruk-hai/orc/mordor theme playing when the council argues to show that arguments and such are evil
Gimli and legolas and boromir join because of duty
Sam and aragorn and merry and pippin and gandalf join because of friendship

Been watching BBC Merlin and i have to say, it's pretty good for what it is. I'm not super-duper incredibly invested in the characters like I am for some other shows, but it's entertaining and I like them.
(Currently taking any and all spoilers bc of said lack of emotional investment)

I don't know what it is, but something about the Nirvana in Fire theme song reminds me of the animated Cinderella (d*sney)

The Old Guard was absolutely amazing, my goodness. I adored all of the guard, and while there is no real way to pick a favorite, I'm gonna have to say Andy & Nicky take the top spots in an extremely close race
Andy because she reminds me so much of an oc of mine and I love that in a character.
Nicky because he's just exactly the kind of character I love. I don't really know how to explain it, but I saw him with his hood up in the first mission and loved him. Also, "you're an incurable romantic," like, insert brain explosion gif here bc goddamn
Also, the incurable romantic in question (Joe) is amazing and I love him too.
Nile, my beloved. I have no further thoughts on her, but I believe the my beloved meme covers it anyway
And Booker, ily, and you deserved better. I mean you still made shit choices, and deserved the punishment for the betrayal, but you deserved better than to go through enough shit that you thought betrayal was your best option
And that's not touching on the more minor characters of Quynh or Copely either
But if you haven't watched this movie, please give it a shot
