today is Nakba day, the 76th anniversity of the 1948 Nakba. About 15,000 Palestinians were killed during the Nakba in 1948. Since October 7, Israel has killed more than 35,000 Palestinians in Gaza, and 1.7 million people have been displaced — more than double the number of Palestinians displaced in 1948.

8,745 arrests have been made since Oct 7, including 292 women, 615 children, 75 journalists (49 of which are still imprisoned), and 18 who died in detention. it's important to note that this number excludes detainees, who are estimated by prisoner rights groups to be in the thousands.
