Jimin
Him and Taehyung finally found a store that they wanted to shop at in the mall. It was a clothing store that sold trendy clothes at a cheap price. A lot of it was filled with knockoff Gucci shirts, but they didn't care. They began looking through the racks of t-shirts. With what little money they had, they could buy a whole stack of clothes here.
"I've always wanted a Gucci t-shirt," Taehyung commented, holding up one of the knockoff shirts by the hanger, "Maybe someday I will get one."
"Is that on your bucket list?" Jimin asked him as he looked at the clothes beside him.
"Bucket list? No, I don't have one."
"Really?" Jimin asked curiously before continuing to say, "My father always made me write down my bucket list ever since I was a kid. It's a good way to keep track of your goals. Someday you might look back on it and see how much you've accomplished.
Taehyung nodded and glanced at him, "I'll have to make one, then. I never really thought about it that way. Maybe you could help me with that."
Jimin nodded and smiled, "Of course, I'll help you."
Taehyung also flashed him a smile, a cute box-shaped grin that showed off his teeth. Sometimes he would catch himself staring at Taehyung and he would not even realize it. His attractiveness was off the charts, and Jimin had to tell himself to stop staring at him. Surely Taehyung noticed the effect that he had on him. He couldn't be that handsome and not realize how he left others in shambles.
"Look at this," Taehyung said, holding up a white designer sweater, "You would look good in this."
Jimin felt his cheeks turning red thanks to his comment and he smiled shyly. He walked over and as he went to take the hanger from him, their hands met. He smiled wider as he took the hanger and held the sweater.
"I don't know, I don't think I would be able to pull it off," Jimin said as he analyzed the sweater.
"Don't be silly, you definitely would be able to," Taehyung said, "Come on, let's try it on."
He wrapped his arm around Jimin and steered him over the the men's fitting room. Jimin felt like jelly in his arms, he could just melt right there. Relax, he's probably not even into guys, he told himself.
"Go try it on," Taehyung patted his back and unwrapped his arm from around his shoulders, "I'll be waiting here for you."
Jimin smiled at him and slowly nodded, taking his words with him as he walked into the fitting room. He shut the door to the fitting room and pulled his shirt off. He glanced in the mirror and immediately wished he hadn't. He stared at his bony body, running a hand over his chest. Jimin had struggled with his self-image his whole life. Last year, one of his dance instructors had told him that he put on weight. He took this comment to heart and began to starve himself, and he lost an unhealthy amount of weight in just a few weeks. Despite losing a lot of the weight and muscle, he felt like he was still too big. The truth was that he enjoyed looking at his body more when he had starved himself. He wanted to be super skinny, just like the models on the Korean dramas.
Jimin sighed to himself as the thoughts kept rolling in. Taehyung doesn't find you attractive like how you think of him, Jimin thought to himself. No wonder why you can't find someone, another thought rolled in.
What finally disrupted his thoughts was a knock at the door followed by Taehyung saying, "Jimin, is everything okay in there?"
Oh how he wished he could say that nothing was okay. He wished he could explain that his mental headspace wasn't healthy and that he had thoughts of self-doubt all of the time. He wanted to say all of these things to Taehyung, to really confide in him, but he couldn't. He didn't want Taehyung to run away and distance himself from Jimin. He didn't want to burden him with his personal problems. They had just met and he didn't know if their bond was strong enough for him to admit his past to him yet.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Jimin lied and quickly pulled on the sweater.
He avoided looking in the mirror and he gripped the door handle. He opened the door suddenly, trying to escape the darkness that the fitting room had caused. Then, he saw the light, actual brightness lighting up in Taehyung's face.
"That looks really good on you, Jimin," Taehyung said with a bright smile.
Suddenly, all of the dark thoughts he had before were gone in an instant. Just seeing Taehyung's reaction was enough to wash away his self-consciousness. Jimin smiled and spun around playfully.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"I love it, I think you should get it," Taehyung said as he stared at him up and down.
"You think so?" Jimin smiled and felt his cheeks getting hot again as he sheepishly looked down, "I don't know, I don't think I look good in it. I don't know if I can pull it off."
"Yes you can, I'm going to buy it for you," Taehyung said with a smile.
"Taehyung, you really don't have to," Jimin said.
"No, I want to," he said, "You look really good in it, Jimin."
Chills ran down his spine when he heard Taehyung say his name in his deep voice. His deepest urges wanted to make out with him right in this store with all of these people around. Unfortunately, he couldn't and for all he knew, Taehyung could be attracted to girls. But, that comment really set off his internal gay radar.
Hey friends, my story is also on Wattpad and is updated a lot quicker on there. Here’s the link if you’re interested!

Jimin
Their first week of school had already flew by and now it was finally the weekend. Performing arts high schools weren't as academically rigorous as regular high schools, but instead they were much more physically straining. Jimin felt incredibly sore from having two dance classes in a row that were focusing on nothing but cardio for the first few weeks so that everyone could get into shape. He wished that he could change his schedule around to get vocals in between the two classes so that he give his legs a rest like some of the other guys had.
Oh well, he thought to himself. If he wanted to keep his reputation as being one of the best dancers in the sophomore class, then he was going to have to keep his schedule and work on his endurance. Besides the soreness and tiredness he felt after the two dance electives, Jimin enjoyed waking up and dancing first thing in the morning. It was the perfect way to start his day. When he wasn't dancing early in the mornings during the summer time, he took a jog to clear his head. The rhythm of his steps matched when he danced; it was all fluid.
On the weekends, Jimin and the guys would usually hang out. Whether it was causing trouble in downtown Seoul or catching a movie at the theater, they seemed to always be doing something together. Today, Namjoon suggested going to the mall, so that's where they went.
"I kind of don't see the point of buying any clothes here, we just wear our school uniforms all the time," Yoongi said as they walked together through the mall.
"Do you wear your school uniform after school?" Namjoon asked and the other guys chuckled.
"No, but I'm just saying," Yoongi murmured and shrugged his shoulders.
"I've seen Yoongi not change out of his school uniform before bed," Hoseok said, causing more laughter to come out of the group.
"That was one time!" Yoongi smacked Hoseok's shoulder playfully, "I was too tired."
Jimin smiled as they all walked together, looking at the various shops in the mall. He didn't have very much money to spend, but it was nice to just do some window shopping and dream of things he would buy if he did have more money.
"Namjoon, I want to go to that store where you buy all of your figurines in your room," JK told them as they glanced at each store.
"Let's split up then, I doubt everyone wants to go see that store," Namjoon said and glanced at the others, "We can meet at the food court in a couple hours and have lunch."
They all nodded and went into pairs. Jin, Namjoon, and Jungkook went to find the figurine store while Hoseok dragged Yoongi to a clothing store. That left Jimin and Taehyung alone.
Taehyung glanced at him, "Where would you like to go?"
"I have no clue," Jimin murmured as he looked around, "I haven't been here in so long. Maybe we should just keep walking and if we see a place that looks cool, we go inside."
Taehyung nodded and the two of them started to walk together. There was something comforting about Taehyung's presence. In the short time that they had known each other, Jimin felt completely comfortable around him. The feelings Jimin had whenever he was around Taehyung were strange to say the least. Whenever they were together, Jimin was always nervous whenever Taehyung focused his signature intimidating gaze on him. At the same time, though, Jimin felt comfortable telling him anything. They met exactly one week ago, yet he felt like they had known each other for their entire lives. It was probably due to the fact that Jimin shared bits and pieces of his entire life story to Taehyung from growing up in Busan, pursuing dance, and moving to Seoul to enroll in the performing arts school system. Now that he thought about it, he hadn't know too much about Taehyung due to the fact that he mostly questioned Jimin about his life. He was the type of person that listened to others selflessly and Jimin valued that appreciation.
"How was life in Daegu?" Jimin questioned him this time, "I've never been there, but I would like to someday."
Jimin noticed that the question caught Taehyung off guard. He watched him rub the back of his neck before shrugging.
"It was a nice place to grow up, I lived on my grandparent's strawberry farm. We were able to make ends meet that way, but I had never been to Seoul before I came here. It's quite a transition from a regular high school to a performing arts school."
Jimin nodded and replied, "I can only imagine."
Jimin literally could only imagine. He grew up in the performing arts school system since he was just a kid. His parents had always supported his dream and luckily had enough money to send both him and his younger brother to performing arts schools. He remembered riding the train when he was thirteen with his father after he got accepted into SOPA. He was so confident back then. His acceptance lifted him up mentally and he felt like he was on top of the world. Jimin still had some of that confidence, but being in a prestigious school like SOPA compared to the Busan performing art schools he went to as a kid was a silly comparison. There, he was a big fish in a small pond, but here, the opposite was true. There was so much competition here that sometimes it was hard to just relax and focus on why he had a passion for dancing. Too often students focused on trying to get signed by the top agencies and got burnt out on the activities they were passionate about.
"But I believe in timing, so I don't have any complaints," Taehyung said as their steps echoed on the pristine tile, "If I got in sooner, maybe this all wouldn't have worked out the way it did. Maybe I wouldn't have met you guys."
Jimin was mesmerized by the way that he viewed things. If only he could see the world the way Taehyung did.

Taehyung
By the time Taehyung had gotten to the middle of his school day, he was exhausted. There was so much mental fog in his brain from the cramming of information that he felt like he couldn't focus on anything. Luckily, it was lunchtime, which was always one of his favorite times back in Daegu. He spent many lunches plugged up with his earphones, listening to his music playlist that he had illegally downloaded. He had a few friends back in Daegu that he sat with, but they were also pretty quiet like he was, so it was easy for them to just do their own things at lunch.
So far, Taehyung had classes with each of his new friends. After first block with Jimin, he had vocal class with Yoongi, then his third class, he had hip hop dance with Jin. They had all talked, though Yoongi was less talkative, except for when he was complaining that the administration had messed up his schedule for putting him in vocals. Jin wasn't one of the more outgoing ones in the group, but you wouldn't have known that if it was just the two of you hanging out together. Taehyung was surprised by how sociable he was being with him.
Jin told Taehyung all about the group, including his personal experience of going through the performing arts school to be an actor before settling his passion on music instead. He explained that Yoongi also auditioned to get into SOPA back in Daegu after finishing middle school. The two of them became roommates and were inseparable ever since. Then, they met Namjoon and Hobi together. Then once Jimin enrolled in his first year of high school, Hobi introduced him to the other guys. Then, Jimin brought in Jungkook just recently after he transferred over. Taehyung was glad to be included with the group and not be treated like a lost puppy dog that Namjoon brought in. He had seen a lot of friendships like that back at his old high school. With all the luck he was having recently, he wondered what could possibly go wrong to screw his life up.
"So, what's it like rooming with Namjoon?" Jin asked Taehyung as they walked to the cafeteria together.
"It's great, he's quiet and bounces a lot of his lyrics off on me to get my opinion," he said with a shrug, "He's a great roommate and friend, but I wish he didn't snore as loud."
Jin laughed loudly and smacked his shoulder playfully while saying, "I know, if I was his roommate, I would have broken up with him as soon as we got assigned together."
Taehyung chuckled before fully realizing what he had said. Jin and Namjoon were together? He never suspected it from last night, maybe he was bad at reading people. Of course, they had showed a little bit of skinship, but he assumed that they were just best friends messing around with each other. He felt a little bit more confident in himself knowing that he wasn't the only person in this school that was into same-sex relationships. Maybe he wouldn't have to keep it a secret from the guys for long. Taehyung trusted Jin well enough in the short period of time that they had gotten to know each other that he could keep it a secret. Jin wouldn't have told you about his relationship with Namjoon if he didn't trust you, he reassured himself.
Jin noticed Taehyung's confused glance he had sent his way and asked, "Oh, Namjoon didn't tell you?"
Taehyung shook his head no.
"That's understandable, he still keeps quiet about it sometimes," he said and shrugged, "We all sorta do that."
"We?" Taehyung asked him as they made their way to get into the lunch line.
"Yeah, the six of us are all into guys," Jin said and glanced at him, "Hopefully that doesn't weird you out."
"No, it doesn't at all," Taehyung told him, too shocked to say anything before trying to continue, "I- never mind."
What type of luck was this? All six of his new friends were on the gay spectrum? This was what he was missing back in Daegu, a sense of belonging. No longer would he feel like an outsider in this group. He was too surprised to tell Jin that he was too, but he was sure that eventually he would be able to tell him. Right now, he had to fathom his words. It had to be fate that he ended up here in SOPA, pursuing his dream, and found a group of friends that he could confide in unlike anyone else in his entire life. Where would his luck end?
The two of them got their lunch and walked outside to the open patio where a lot of the students were sitting. Jin and Taehyung noticed that everyone else were already at the table, so they hurriedly walked over and took their seats. Tae sat between Yoongi and Jimin while Namjoon had draped his uniform jacket over the chair to reserve it for Jin.
"Well, how was your guys' elective courses?" Hobi asked as they all began to eat.
"Yoongi and I really enjoyed our music production class in the first block," Namjoon said while holding his sandwich, "The syllabus looked like something we'll enjoy."
"Yeah it looked fun, but they still messed up on my schedule," Taehyung heard Yoongi say for the fourth time today.
"Our third block was really fun," Jungkook said as he slurped noodles into his mouth, "Hobi, Namjoon, Jimin, and I had vocals together and we just talked the entire time."
"Yeah, thanks to you, I couldn't hear anything that our instructor said about deadlines for our vocal assignments," Jimin muttered from next to him.
Taehyung smiled a bit and listened to them banter between themselves. As he finished up his lunch, he heard a bell ring followed by the sound of chairs scraping against the stone beneath them. Students began to flood the halls once again.
"Lunch is never long enough," Yoongi groaned as he stood up with his trash.
Now it was time for the least fun part of the day, their academic classes. The classes were split into grades, so that meant that Jungkook was the only one in their group that wouldn't have someone with him in class as he was only in his first year.
"I wish I was older!" Jungkook complained as he hurriedly shoved more noodles into his mouth.
"I told you to stop saying that," Hobi told him, "It'll just be a few more hours then we'll be able to hang out again later."
"Fine, fine," JK said with his mouth full and went off towards the first year academic building.
"You'll have to show me where we go," Taehyung told Jimin as the others split off into pairs to go to their academic classes.
"Tour guide Park Jimin at your service," Jimin said with a wide smile that made his eyes squint, "Stop number one is the second year academic building."
Taehyung laughed and they began to walk together. Jimin had a smile that could light up anyone's day. The way his eyes twinkled instantly made Taehyung smile. He was glad that Jimin was in the same grade as him.
"You never finished telling me about dancing in middle school," Taehyung told Jimin as they walked together into the academic hallway.
"Don't worry," Jimin reassured him, "We've got time."

Jimin
Summer vacation went by way too quick Jimin thought to himself as he got dressed into his school uniform. The past three months flew by faster than he ever expected. He stayed in Busan for two months of it to visit his family before coming back and doing a short week-long summer camp that went over various dance styles. Jimin had loved to dance ever since he was a young kid. There was something about expressing yourself with your body that made him attracted to the different styles. He focused primarily on contemporary dance because of how fluid it was. He felt like he was an angel when he was dancing, despite how clumsy he actually was. All of his worries went away when he was in his element dancing.
"Jimin, what's your schedule?" Jungkook asked as he had lazily tied his suit tie.
"Here," Jimin handed him his schedule and stood in front of him, trying to fix his tie, "You'll get flagged if you don't look more presentable. This isn't middle school anymore."
"I only have vocals in the third block with you!" Jungkook complained, "I wish I was older."
"Be quiet, getting older isn't any fun, JK," Hobi told him, "Let me see your schedule."
Jungkook handed his schedule to Hobi and they compared their schedules together.
"We have hip hop dance together and vocals!" Jungkook exclaimed, "I won't be alone!"
Jimin walked over and glanced at the schedules, comparing them to his own. Jimin would only have one class with the two of them and it was their vocals course in the third block. He prayed that Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jin had classes with him. He wouldn't have any academic classes with anyone after lunch, similar to Jungkook, due to the fact that none of them were in the same grade as he was. Hobi and Namjoon were both in their third year while Yoongi and Jin were in their fourth year together.
"We better get going or we're going to be late," Hoseok told them and grabbed his backpack, "Fix your shirt, JK, the buttons are mismatched."
Jimin laughed a bit and together the three of them walked out together while Jungkook struggled to button his shirt correctly. Outside, Namjoon was waiting with Yoongi, Jin, and Taehyung. All of a sudden, he felt his nerves kicking up again when he felt Taehyung stare at him with that same intimidating glance. He gulped slightly and glanced down at his feet to avoid being called out by Yoongi, who was prone to point out when others got embarrassed. There were many times where Jin, who got embarrassed easily, was called out by Yoongi for his ears being red.
"You still don't know how to button your school uniform shirt after being in a performing arts school system for so long?" Yoongi teased Jungkook as he hastily buttoned his shirt.
"It's been three months since I had to put one of these stupid things on," Jungkook mumbled as he fixed his shirt, tie, and jacket before questioning them, "There, happy?"
Once again, Yoongi was always calling people out. Hoseok was even a victim of it, but of course, he didn't receive as much flack from Yoongi as the other guys did. Hopefully Taehyung would become aware of that if he did start to hang out with the group going forward. He was surprised that he hadn't ditched them yet to find a more normal group of people. The six of them were very rowdy and obnoxious.
"What classes do you guys have first?" Namjoon asked them as they began to walk towards the elective building, "Yoongi and I have music production."
"Jungkook and I have hip-hop dance first block," Hobi commented.
"Jimin, please tell me you have vocals first block," Jin begged, hoping that he would have a course with one of his friends.
"Hate to break it to you, but, I have contemporary dance first," Jimin said and patted Jin on the shoulder.
"Ah, I'm gonna be alone," Jin sighed and miserably looked back down at his schedule.
"Taehyung has contemporary dance first too," Namjoon commented, glancing back at them as they all walked together.
Jimin looked back at Taehyung, "Looks like we will have a class together."
He simply nodded and stated in his signature deep voice, "I'm glad."
When they got to the elective building, the seven of them split into pairs, except for Jin who would have his first elective class all by himself.
"See you guys at lunch, let's eat outside," Hobi said before heading off down the corridor with Jungkook.
Jimin glanced at Taehyung when they were left alone and told him, "The size of the school is intimidating, that was my first thought when I got here."
Taehyung nodded and looked around, "It is, but it's really nice. I can't believe there's so many stories in these buildings."
Jimin chuckled a bit, "Come on, we can't be late on our first day. I'll have to give you the grand tour later."
The two of them hurried off to find their first elective, contemporary dance. They had to rush up three flights of stairs to get to the third story where the majority of the dance electives were. After walking down the hall, they found their class and went inside together. Luckily, they weren't late yet. The room was a lot like the dance classes he had taken last year. It had a classroom in one room, then in two sliding doors, there was a large dance studio. Taehyung probably understood why the school campus was so big, they had to accommodate for so many people.
The classroom was organized so that it had two seats per desk. Jimin glanced around before finding an empty desk and he walked over, sitting down. Taehyung took his seat next to him, draping his backpack on his chair.
"So you're from Daegu, what made you want to come here to SOPA?" Jimin asked him as more students piled into the classroom and filled in the empty seats.
"I've always loved to sing, I never had any professional lessons, but my father was very passionate about music," Taehyung continued, "He helped teach me to sing. After I finished my first year, they were holding tryouts in Daegu and somehow I got in. I've always wanted to come here to this performing arts school, it does have a reputation for forging success."
Jimin nodded as he listened to him. The way he spoke, it was hard not to tell that he had to be a great singer. He wanted Taehyung to talk more, because not only was it symphonic to his ears, but Jimin felt like he had a lot to say and just was too shy to speak up.
"What about you?" Taehyung asked, "What are you passionate about?"
"I love to dance, but my journey is a long story," Jimin said with a chuckle.
Taehyung flashed his intimidating gaze at him again and reassured him, "Don't worry, I've got time."

Jimin
Jimin woke all of a sudden to a light tap on his shoulder. He blinked suddenly, noticing nothing but the darkness that represented the blanket that was covering his head. He focused as he heard a voice over the TV that was blaring the sounds of a video game.
"Jimin-ah, come on, we're gonna be late," his roommate, Hoseok prodded him awake from his nap, "You shouldn't have been out so early in the morning."
"Okay, okay," Jimin murmured, lifting the covers off of his head and slowly sitting up.
He ran his fingers through his hair, noticing that his other roommate, Jungkook, was playing a first-person shooter video game. He chuckled to himself as he shook his head violently after the screen went dark due to his character's death.
"Dead again?" Hobi asked before chuckling, "You're really bad at this game."
"Let's see you do better," Jungkook murmured as his player respawned, "These guys are twenty levels ahead of me and have better perks."
"A good gamer doesn't make excuses, JK," Hoseok teased their younger roommate, "I'll show you how it's done later. Right now, we have to go to the student union for orientation."
"I never learn anything from those," Jungkook muttered but obliged by turning the console off and standing.
"You shouldn't be, you've been in this system long enough," Hobi said and put on his ball cap, "It's only natural at this point."
Jimin chuckled at their banter; it never seemed to end. This was his second year rooming with Hobi, but Jungkook had been with them since the start of the summer after transferring from the performing arts middle school. Three months later, every day started with the same thing. Hoseok was the first to wake up and he'd somehow make Jimin wake up next due to him opening the squeaking drawers in his dresser. Jungkook was a heavy sleeper and he stayed up late playing video games until Hobi begged him to turn it off.
"What's the point of getting a kill if you can't hear anything?" JK asked Hobi once when he muted the TV.
He smiled to himself, recalling the memories. They all got along really well and bonded over so many things, such as video games. He had known them since they were in the middle school performing arts together, when Jimin was fourteen years old. Hobi was a year older than him and Jungkook, a year younger. Hoseok had so many dance classes with him and they both were able to teach each other new styles of dancing. Then, they met Jungkook in a vocalist class in middle school and eventually they all began to hang out in their friend's group. Whenever school was starting, JK was worried that since he was a transfer student that he wouldn't get a room with them. His worries came true and he was put in a dorm room fit for two people. Hoseok and Jimin talked it over with their other friend, Namjoon, and he offered to switch so that Jungkook wouldn't be with a stranger for his first year. Namjoon was oftentimes described as their leader, due to his selflessness and loyalty to his friends. He would do anything for the five of them. Hopefully Namjoon got a good roommate.
Jimin fixed his hair and tried to make himself somewhat presentable before he walked out of the dorm with Hobi and Jungkook. The two talked about video games while Jimin trailed behind them, still trying to overcome his sleepiness. It wasn't unusual for him to stay up later till around the time JK stayed up, but last night was different. He just couldn't get himself to fall asleep, so he went for a early morning jog through the nearby park.
The trio got to the student union and scanned around, looking for their group. He spotted Namjoon talking with Jin and Yoongi, their other friends. Next to Namjoon, though, was someone he didn't recognize. He had dark hair, honey-colored skin, and an intimidating gaze. He was tall, but not as tall as Namjoon was. Jimin knew that he had to be new, because out of the eight hundred students that went to SOPA, none of them looked as handsome as him.
"Hobi, you stole my hat," Yoongi complained as the three of them approached the others.
"I'm sorry," Hobi took the hat off and playfully squashed it on Yoongi's head, bringing a chuckle out of the group. "There you go!"
Jimin smiled to himself as he watched their banter. Yoongi and Hobi were best friends and they really did bring out the best in each other. It was no secret that over the summer that the two of them hooked up. It seemed like they were still trying to play it cool in front of everyone else, but they all knew. One of the few things that everyone bonded over was the fact that they were in the minority for being apart of the LGBTQ+ community. It was how it all came about, they started a safe haven so to speak when Jimin had first transferred over to the high school and had the guts to tell Hobi. Eventually, the six of them joined in when Jungkook transferred over in the summer. Fate had brought the six of them together and it seemed that everyone had found their soulmates, except for Jimin and Jungkook.
Jungkook was bisexual, but way too wild to settle down to have a relationship. It was only natural that the pairings of Namjoon and Jin started then Yoongi and Hoseok were next, but JK and Jimin both never had those feelings for each other. The other guys had teased them to go on a date, but after a few times of hanging out alone and one kiss, it was enough to convince both Jimin and Jungkook that they weren't meant to be.
"I still love you like a brother," JK had told Jimin after they had discussed everything.
He was glad that nothing was awkward between the two of them. Jin and Namjoon had been going strong for two years with no stopping in sight. Jimin was glad for them, but seeing Hobi and Yoongi along with Jin and Namjoon together made him wish he could find someone. When Jimin echoed these sentiments to JK, he simply told him that when the timing was right, he'd find someone.
"Guys, this is Kim Taehyung, he's my roommate," Namjoon said and patted the tall boy on the shoulder, "He's new here, he just got here from Daegu this morning."
One by one, they introduced themselves. When it was Jimin's turn, Taehyung focused his intimidating gaze on him. Jimin felt his stomach turn as suddenly the attention was on him and his face flushed red in embarrassment. How was he this embarrassed? In all of the vocal classes he took and how he danced in front of hundreds of people, he never felt this shy in front of someone before.
"I'm Park Jimin," he said nervously and extended his hand out to him.
Taehyung enveloped his small hand with his large one and simply stated, "It's nice to meet you."

Taehyung
"Here's your map of the school, your schedule, and also your dorm key," the receptionist told him, "Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have any issues with finding anything around here!"
Taehyung held the stacks of papers in his hands and thanked her for her time. Everyone around here seemed way too nice, but the fact that the school was so expensive made up for why the workers here almost had to be nice. This was different from his freshman year in high school back in Daegu, the school was crazy with troublemakers running around the halls and teachers trying to pursue after them. Here, everything was relaxed. There were students sitting on benches singing a cappella in groups then kids tapping on their laptops in frustration. Not to mention, everyone seemed to be a lot more outgoing here. He had already said hello back to many people his age. He remembered back to one of the topics he had learned about when looking at different performing art high schools. Performing arts schools would definitely bring you out of your shell, he had learned in an article.
Taehyung didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing. He had always been closed off from everyone, not really wanting to put himself out there. His classmates back in Daegu probably didn't even know that he liked to sing, just because he hid everything about him from others for fear of embarrassment. There were many secrets that he wouldn't even tell his best friends. His biggest, of course, one that he was struggling with for years was his sexuality. He remembered the day he told his grandparents and the disappointment that shined in their eyes that day was enough to convince himself to never again bring that up. Of course, they still supported him and didn't press him on the issue, which was more than he could say for a lot of traditional Korean parents. They probably had assumed that it was just a phase, since he hadn't brought it up since then. Even Taehyung thought it was for a short period there, but no, his suspicions were confirmed. He was attracted to men.
He glanced down at his map and searched for the dorms. He recognized some of the similar figures on the map that he walked past earlier. Taehyung continued to walk down the hallway before he came to a corridor that signaled the dorm hall that he was apart of. He walked up the stairs carefully, trying not to let his papers or any of his luggage slip out of his grip. He came to his hall and walked down towards the end, scanning for his room number. Finally, he found it; room number 252.
Tae took a deep breath before fumbling with the key and unlocking the door. Inside, he found a tall kid sitting cross legged with a book in his hands. This must've been his roommate. Luckily, it seemed like there was just the two of them in here, since there were only two beds. He heard people complaining about having three other students in their room while he was waiting in line for the receptionist.
"You must be my new roommate," the boy said, closing the book and hopping off of the bed, "I'm Namjoon."
"I'm Taehyung," he said sheepishly and looked around their dorm room.
"Are you new here?" Namjoon questioned him before continuing, "I haven't seen you around. Then again, I haven't seen half of the students here."
"I'm new," Taehyung nodded, "I'm in my second year. I auditioned back in Daegu shortly after my first year ended."
"Congratulations, I'm in my third year," he told him, "I've been here since my first year. Life here is easy if you're passionate about music, but if you aren't, they'll weed you out and a lot of students leave because they can't deal with the schedule."
Taehyung felt a wave of worry wash over him as he listened to Namjoon explain the schedule. Dance and music split into different electives in the morning then academics after lunch. Luckily in his audition, they didn't ask him to dance. He was sure that if they did, then he would've failed the audition.
"What electives do you have?" Namjoon asked.
Taehyung unfolded his paper and glanced down at it, reading off the list, "Contemporary dance, harmony and vocals, and hip hop dance."
"We might have harmony and vocals together if we have the same instructor," Namjoon said with a smile before checking Taehyung's schedule, "Same instructor, so at least you'll have me in one of your electives."
Taehyung returned the smile, "Thank you, I'm glad to have someone that I can trust here."
"Don't mention it," he said, "Later on, they're hosting a orientation at the student union. I can introduce you to some of my friends."
"That'd be great, thank you," Taehyung said cheerfully and set his bags on the other bed.
Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all, Namjoon seemed to be a great roommate and not to mention that they would at least have one class together. Everyone was very friendly here, unlike how school was like back in Daegu. It seemed like Taehyung was able to rip off the canvases from his past experiences and start a new one at his dream school. Maybe then he wouldn't feel so ashamed of himself and actually be able to look at himself in the mirror. With everything that happened today, it made him look forward to the bright events in his future. All of the worries he had when Namjoon was first talking about the schedule were gone. It was almost like Taehyung was destined to be here and that nothing could stop him now. After all, this was one of his goals he had to someday accomplish his dream. He smiled to himself and thought about the next step in the process of someday becoming a singer.

Taehyung
The rattle of the public transportation bus window shook him awake from his deep sleep. Taehyung blinked the sleep from his eyes, focusing on the darkness outside of the window. He was holding onto his suitcase with a death grip, as if someone would have taken his stuff while he was sleeping. He should've known better, but even as safe as South Korea was, taking a public bus late at night to Seoul would be an easy way to get robbed.
Taehyung analyzed his surroundings and noticed that the majority of the people he had been on the bus with back in Daegu had already gotten off. It was only him and a couple other people near the front on the bus, much different than it was three and a half hours ago when he had to share a seat with someone.
He had never traveled this far away from home by himself before. His grandparents had warned him about his conduct on public transportation, explaining that traveling here was a lot different than how he used to act up on the school bus home. He felt homesick to himself, already missing his grandmother's traditional Korean dishes.
Push it aside, he told himself. Now, he was on his way to Seoul to follow his dream of being a singer. Ever since he was young, he loved to sing. Whether it was on his family's farm picking strawberries, or whenever he laid down to sleep at night, he always seemed to have a tune in his mind. His parents were always very supportive of his dream, even though they didn't have much money to contribute. Before they passed away in a car accident, his father had taught him how to play the saxophone. Tae had heard about the different performing arts schools ever since he was young. It was a miracle that he landed an audition in Daegu and actually made it in to the School of Performing Arts in Seoul, called SOPA for short. So many people had auditioned for a chance to go to the performing arts school, yet only a limited amount got in. He saved up what little he had in order to get to this point. He would likely be paying off his admission for the rest of his life, but this was an experience that was going to be irreplaceable.
Of course, with any good thing, Taehyung always had his doubts. Going into the performing arts school, he knew he was at a great disadvantage. The majority of the kids there had been training professionally since they were just kids, but here he was, not having any professional experience and hoping that a record label would notice him. He knew that he was being too hard on himself, but he couldn't get himself to stop being overly anxious with everything. Tae tried to shake off the negative feelings as he stared out the window of the bus.
Taehyung glanced forward to the flashing display at the front of the bus and noticed the next stop was his own. He silently thanked himself for waking up in time to see his stop. He had time to kill until the dorms opened up for him to check in for the school year. It was cheapest to get a bus ticket late at night compared to early morning rush hour.
Finally, the bus stopped on an empty street that was surrounded by sky scraping buildings and neon lights that reflected off of the road. He gathered his stuff, thanked the driver for the ride, and stepped off of the bus. There was a gentle breeze in the air that followed the bus taking off again. He looked around before noticing a small park in the distance. Taehyung dragged his luggage along as he walked in that direction to it.
The park was like a small safe haven in the middle of all the sky scrapers. He imagined that many of the office workers took their lunch breaks here to get away from the city life as much as possible. He smiled to himself, imagining his new life in Seoul with bright horizons of learning to sing in the close distance.
Taehyung found a small bench near the middle of the park and sat down with his bag draped over his lap. He stared out at the trees before slipping in his earphones and listening to Malibu Nights by LANY. He focused on the time that displayed on his phone. It was exactly four o'clock in the morning, what a coincidence. He dimmed the display before slipping his phone back into his pocket.
Tae slowly closed his eyes, allowing his body to completely relax against the bench. The music continued to play as he felt himself drifting off again. Suddenly, he heard footsteps above his music that made him pull one of his earbuds out. He opened his eyes quickly and noticed that a small and slim figure was jogging along the path in the park. Taehyung watched the person jog flawlessly along the sidewalk, their footsteps making a slapping sound with each step. What were they doing out so late? The same could be said for him, though. As quickly as the person appeared, the sooner they disappeared.
