If that anon is concerned about the amount of time T took to speak up, then anon is not concerned about Black Lives AT ALL. This is not a trend. No matter how late or how early you post it IT DOESNT MATTER. This is an advocacy and I agree with you Virtchy. Instead of waiting for your fav to post why not direct that energy supporting that movement, instead of keeping watch at the celebrities that tweet or post. I hope everyone can make a change.
Honestly we have to stop giving these influencers so much power over our lives. Itās fine to be a fan but at the end of the day you need to stay grounded in reality and realize you donāt know these people and theyāre words donāt mean shit.
Look at Ariana Grande, Tessa Thompson, Madison Beer, Kehlani, Halsey, etc out there fucking DOING shit thatās REAL because theyāre not just using their privelaged platform to spit out some words that arenāt gonna do anything. Thatās what we all need to be doing right now!
Actions are how things get accomplished. Look at our history and how weāve evolved. The only way to enact change is through action especially in situations like this where the oppressed voices are constantly silenced. More words and peaceful protests arenāt going to do anything.
We shouldnāt care about what some privelaged white people have to say on social media because social media is not going to change a damn thing no matter how many celebrities write 5 paragraph think pieces on how wrong the world is.
If your life decisions and morals are hinged on what some person you donāt even personally know posts on social media you need to do some soul searching.
They have done nothing to earn that type of influence over your life. Stop giving it to them! Be your own influence and help take actual action in the real world and help change it for the better.

here's a link to a carrd compiling ways you can support the black lives matter movement (made by twt user @dehyedration)
other than listing petitions, places to donate, and where to call/text, it also compiles resources such as threads debunking misinfo, education on black history, and information for protestors. it's being updated regularly

Seriously it takes Tessa 6 days to speak out about this and when she does she canāt even promote the right charities it shows she isnāt speaking out about this issue from the heart she is just saying the bare minimum so she doesnāt get called out.
How about we stress over real issues here like the systematic racial oppression and murder of innocent human beings and less on what some white rich celebrity has to say? Now is not the time to be engaging in stan culture and arguing about that bullshit stop wasting your energy on something that isnāt going to help the cause.
Navigate that attitude elsewhere and rant and rave about the shit that actually matters.

the harley quinn show is only in the middle of its second season and the writers have confirmed on numerous occasions that harlivy was the direction they were going since the beginning and if you watch the show its blatantly clear.
iām very aware of harley and ivyās story in the comics iāve been a fan of them since harleyās conception in the 90ās animated show but the fact is theyāve never even shared an on screen kiss on any form of mainstream media. this is a huge step for them that is hopefully going to open some doors and allow them to appear like this in more content like video games, other tv shows, and hopefully live action movies. someone had to break that barrier and i give my props to the harley quinn series for finally doing it.
as for she-ra i canāt make many arguments for it other than what people are currently telling me about it. but itās my understanding they have more than catradora for wlw content?
iām not saying to not demand more because we deserve sooo much more content and particularly stuff that isnāt just hinted at and dropped in at the last possible second to not anger homophobic parents. i totally get that! but it was also a pretty awesome day for wlw for the fact that we literally got 2 kisses from 2 different animated shows on the same day. to my knowledge that has never happened before. we can celebrate that and still continue to demand more content in the future.
i donāt even watch she-ra but the fact that two wlw ships became canon and kissed on the same day is so iconic. itās such a rare occurrence that it needs to be celebrated and thatās sad but itās progress!!! weāre getting there folks!!!
