In terms of demons, how malicious would you say they are in your story's world? Is their role to only tempt humans into sinning and damn their souls, or will we get implications that some demons have done some horror movie type stuff (or that horror movies stereotype demons)? Depending on how they are, that certainly casts Jack's alliance with them in an interesting light...
Most demons that operate on Earth are the tempting, making deals, and generally fucking with the plans of Heavens. But there is always the occasional demon who goes all out terrorizing some poor family. Those are generally seen as controversial local celebrities in a way. Like, Harry and the gang think those demons should get with the times and stop risking the humans knowing too much. “They can just relocate to hell if they want to torture people!” But also going Oh what did they do now? Tell me everything! during coffee breaks.
Jack is not happy about having to work with the demons, but he has his reasons. They don't force him to do anything too awful...
Thank you for the question! :)

Hi first want to say I love your story <3 really different from what I’ve previously read!! Also sorry if this long !!
But I was wondering if there’s going to be a shift in Nathan’s perspective/attitude towards Bram. I’ve kinda noticed his behaviour after witnessing his panic attack is more of protectiveness? Idk if I’m overthinking this, but will he be less jealousy of bram getting suits attention and more kinda take on the overprotective older brother ( or caretaker) approach or maybe no longer see him as competition but rather another way to get daddy’s attention by become a pseudo -daddy in watching his action ( and reporting back… thus getting props from daddy for being his “little helper/ being a good older brother) ……or maybe he acting more of a warden figure only to him, kinda gets the agency of both being older ( and thus having some level of power over someone ) but also still get to be babied by being the second youngest from others?

Don’t worry !! :D I like long speculations!

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: You basically answered yourself. You’re not overthinking at all.
I swear, sometimes I wonder if you guys have bugged my house, because you keep foreseeing what’s going to happen! But then again tropes are tropes, and clearly I’m not THAT original as an author 😆😆 (or dare I say that I managed to foreshadow things effectively through my writing?!)
I am planning for him to become overprotective. Daddy and the rest of the adults are going to be amazed that Nathan suddenly cares about Bram. Bram is going to think he’s annoying. Nathan is going to think he’s doing the most important job ever.
But I think I’m going to keep the exact reason as to why a secret for now, though… 🤐
Thank you for the ask!

Will Bram ever ask Leon the question, if angels have so much power why don't they intervene when humans suffer? Why insist on not getting involved?
This is a good question, because I hadn’t considered it before.
Bram might ask. It would make sense if he does. But the MC of the side story I’m planning definitely will ask. I wouldn’t want anything to be repetitive, but at the same time other readers are probably also wondering about this… 🤔 Hm I need to think about this…

Poor Bram, it's like a really awkward family birthday party
I mean, the others were having a pretty good time 😆 But maybe I should add some ambient party noises in between the adults arguing?

Cheese manna and some food info
I completely forgot to add this to the note of chapter 23, but I just wanted to say that I got the idea for cheese manna from real world Imeruli Khachapuri (Georgian Cheese Bread). Note that it's the one with the cheese on the inside, and not the "cheese boat with an egg". - Even though that one is very yummy too. - I had it at a Georgian restaurant, and it struck me that this had to be Mariel's beloved cheese manna.
Where do they get the cheese from though?
Heaven doesn't have cattle. What I'm thinking right now is that Heaven has some kind of deal with another pantheon. Probably Hinduism, since I imagine they treat their cows the best.
But if Heaven has access to cheese, why do they keep eating plain manna all the time?
It's because manna is all they need, and anything else is considered "extra" food, basically. Insisting on eating the good food is over indulging Earthly pleasure. Gluttony is a sin, after all. (Yes that does mean that lady angel Bram met was actually treating herself. Growing your own food on Earth for eating is treading a fine line for angels.)
Here's a link to a recipe on Khachapuri if anyone's interested 😇

Here from AO3! I was wondering, is the next chapter of Gracelings, Fledgelings and Spankings going to be about Daddy and Bram learning to fly, or is it gonna be everyone helping him? Also, I'm super curious about the other mysteriously shrouded siblings! Are they angels now? Or are they in-between Fledge and Angel?

Hi Miyoko! Good to see you here :D
I was wondering, is the next chapter of Gracelings, Fledgelings and Spankings going to be about Daddy and Bram learning to fly, or is it gonna be everyone helping him?
It’s going to be Bram being shocked by his new wings and a ceremony for the family 😊 (Or that's the plan anyway. I've redone the draft like five times 💀)
Also, I'm super curious about the other mysteriously shrouded siblings! Are they angels now? Or are they in-between Fledge and Angel?
(So I realized that I should have picked another term but) Rebecca and Sarah are fledged fledglings. They have left the nursery. Rebecca and Sarah are old enough to know how to shrink people and themselves, so Daddy can’t make them tiny anymore. But they don’t have the cool biblically accurate wings yet.

Why do I feel like Bram being so difficult from the offset and now having issues with his wings is just going to end up with Suit babying him even more than his siblings 😭 even though they had that talk on earth. I'm kind of worried Bram is going to end up being that one kid in the family that is mollycoddled whether they like it or not because they had a bad/sick period as a little kid.
I can definitely see Leon doing that, yeah 😆
Poor Brammie...

After your latest chapter, I'm so curious to know more about Bram's siblings, especially Theresa and Mariel. So I have some general questions, like what were their experiences on earth? I know they didn't spend as much time there as Bram, but do they ever miss things about it? What kind of trouble have they gotten into? I suspect Jack is the biggest troublemaker, but on a scale, who is the most behaved to least behaved? Do they often have special outings with Daddy, or was that a "sorry Nate-Bate" exception? There are so many angel babies, I wanna know everything haha

I can’t believe I forgot I had this sitting in my inbox. I am so sorry for taking so long to respond! QuQ
So I have some general questions, like what were their experiences on earth? I know they didn't spend as much time there as Bram, but do they ever miss things about it?
I wanted to provide a good long answer, but I’m actually going to save this… One, because I’m already taking way too long to answer this Ask. Two, I need to do some research and actually decide on thing xD All I know is that Theresa’s mother got married after becoming pregnant, and when Theresa was fetched she was first happy that she could postpone the expectations of being a women in the 1800s, but she quickly got tired of the 200-year-long second-childhood deal. She can't wait to get out of there.
What kind of trouble have they gotten into? I suspect Jack is the biggest troublemaker, but on a scale, who is the most behaved to least behaved?
I’d say Mariel is the one who gets scolded on the regular the most. She jumped from the table to trigger her wings, which was something.
Theresa was kind of a brat, actually, when she was a graceling. She’s grown to be a model daughter now, though.
Jack was better behaved before he went to Earth. He definitely wouldn’t be valedictorian of his age group, but he's a good big brother to all his younger siblings.
Do they often have special outings with Daddy, or was that a "sorry Nate-Bate" exception?
Leon regularly brings out the fledglings, actually. Hard to believe when reading the story, I know…! They’re at “school” for 200 years, so perfect attendance isn’t that important, unless they’re doing a module or something where the covered topics need to come in a specific order. This means the fledglings are allowed to come to the office if they want to, but that place quickly loses its charm once they understand Daddy mostly sits at a desk doing math or attends meetings.
Bram running away at the office led to a Daddy-social-life lockdown.
There are so many angel babies, I wanna know everything haha
There’s so much to tell (and I realize this is another con of having so many of them ahahah 😂😭) ❤

What do angels generally think of human depictions of heaven in media such as all dogs go to heaven or angel's in the outfield? Mild amusement, or disinterested?
This is fun to consider!
I think that since various religious scriptures have managed to nail down quite a few details about them (I.e I the author have used religious texts as inspo and sources for the world building.) they're not surprised that humans keep making stuff up about them to fill the gaps.
They were very confused about the cherub in art phase though, since gracelings don't have wings, and fledglings aren't "human baby" babies.
I also think some angels are a little jealous that white wings are so popular in art. There's no representation for Nathan...!

Y'know, I'm surprised that bram hasn't revised his "mr.suit" nickname to "mr.slut" once he realized how many siblings he has xD this isn't legit slut shaming, just me envisioning bram coping with everything by coming up with snarky nicknames (though he better hope leon doesn't read his thoughts or bram slips and called him that to his face, I'm sure he'd have something to say about it in that case)
He definitely considered Leon to be a player back when he still believed all the fledglings were in their 20s. Stretching it out to 200+ changes the perspective a little.
With that said Leon is totally a slut though.
The angels are actually kind of skeptical of Leon's baby making. Even to them, he has a lot of kids. Leon would not like to hear it from his baby though, oh no no...

Yay awesome update as usual :)
I was wondering what the age gap between each sibling is? Does suit wait the same amount of time between each so he gets equal time with each baby? Or has he been more 'active' on earth at certain times.
Thank you for reading!
I haven’t nailed down the exact years, but I do have a rough draft. To try and keep things consistent I made a timeline.
Angels don’t really care about the year you are born, unless they were on Earth raising you. The “homecoming” is way more important. Gracelings are “fetched” around the ages 16-20 (Early and late bloomers at the edges of that spectrum.) The fledgling stays with their parent for around 200 years, give or take, or until they are ready to learn how to dismiss their wings on command.
Dates of Homecomings:
Rebecca and Sarah: 1750s
Jack: 1800s
Theresa: 1820s
Adrian: 1850s
Hannah: 1930s
Mariel: 1970s
Nathan: 1990s
Bram: late 2010s
As we can see, there was a 50-year break between Rebecca and Sarah, and Jack. Leon was a new parent, and a set of twins required a lot of his time.
Jack, Theresa and Adrien are closer in time to one another. It’s around here Leon realizes he wants a big family (or that he has a breeding kink, but who’s to say?)
Then there was a break between Adrian and Hannah. Leon had five kids living at home at that point, lots to juggle.
Between Hannah and Mariel there’s another small break. But that’s mostly so that Leon can time in Rebecca and Sarah both moving out. Then Mariel, Nathan and Bram were closed to each other. Jack moved out between Nathan being fetched and Bram being fetched, in the 2000s.
He does not currently have any unfetched babies on Earth.
To answer your question, I don’t think it was planned by Leon to be on earth more or less during those periods. It’s that he had a lot of kids at home to take care of.
Thank you for the ask!

Just read the new chapter and er do angels have therapists? I feel like Bram could use a fledging psychologist if they exist (great update btw!)
I mentioned it in the feather plucking ask a while back, found here: https://www.tumblr.com/vanillavagrant/734529450075684864/the-clipped-wing-ask-made-me-wonder-do-angels?source=share
(copied from there) For plucking specifically they have a special unit at the wing healer for treating plucking. It includes therapy (usually focused on habit training, because again, angels are in denial about emotional distress) and physical treatment with oils and things like that. They have different units for adult angels and fledglings.
For a lot of other issues, they rather tell the fledgling to pray more or blame it on the fledgling being undisciplined. “Because why would anyone be unhappy with their life if they just obeyed and accepted the duties and responsibilities Heaven assigns them? :)”
With that said, Bram would greatly benefit from seeing someone.
Thanks for reading!!

Bram's wings
Spoilers chapter 22
Still sitting down, he took a deep breath and turned his head to look.
He gasped.
It was almost like Adrians’. Pale and without the black marks. And they weren’t just one color. There were two.
Pale blue and a very light, almost dusty yellow. Nowhere near as vibrant as Nathan.
He couldn’t see where the blue stopped and the yellow began.
It was like the morning sky in winter on a clear day. It was always cold on those days.
Bram has not just one, but two colors on his wings. It's a coloration called "rainbow". It's not unheard of in Heaven, but all the angels of Heaven are still going to want to look at him.
I found a picture that shows the kind of sunrise I'm thinking about, though the one in the pic is slightly more orange. You can see the lovely gradient in the feathers in the second picture I have attached.
