In Valinorian Years Elenwe is one of the most powerful elves in Valinor, yet also the one who kept he power, political and magical, mostly under wraps. Its easier if she is 'just' the vanyarin crownprincess, a title without consequence as Ingwe will not abdicate and the vanyar no longer hold the line of high king. Later, she is only known as Turgons wife and as one of the vanyar, little of what strings she had pulled in Tirions politics has ever been known, and even less was remembered by the time all the stories of the first age were written down.

battle couples has gotta be one of my favorite tropes though. The “you got me?” “Yeah, I got you.” The kiss for good luck. Fighting alongside each other for so long they know every strength and weakness. The dichotomy of being fucking terrifying to their enemies, but so soft with each other. When one is in danger and the other goes feral, protects them at any cost. When everything is over and done, it’s all “let me see where you’re hurt,” and washing off the dirt and blood.

A thin walkway on the side of the mountains weaving through watchtower after watchtower, guards with bows and arrows, their faces solid and void of emotion, are they even elves? He meets the eyes of one, so light blue they’re almost entirely white, no pupil but no light, and a cold shower runs down his back.

Laurefindele follows Elenwe to the prison that used to hold Melkor, that now holds the very man they think is behind the plot in Tirion, the very one who stabbed Laurefindele not too long ago. On the way he encounters strange wardens that make him more than uncomfortable.
