So after seeing the restoration Le Louvre did to the painting of Anne of Cleves I was like "Damn, now I kinda wanna draw her"

So I did

But it's such a lazy drawing.

Like for one, it's not actually finished and I'm not really planning on finishing it. And to be honest, I didn't think I was going anywhere further than her bust so while drawing I forgot proportions are a thing.

I focused A LOT on details that didn't even come out all that great, but yk what? I could complain all day about what I don't like about this drawing, so I'll just shut up now

I really want to introduce a character I've been working on because I keep saying I want to write and stuff but I never actually do it so perhaps I'll feel more motivated if I show it to someone.

Laura Maria Drâmba, a 17 year old Romanian girl living in Italy and dealing with all the bottled up emotions she gathered over years of being misunderstood. Her parents come from somewhere around Șurdești, Maramureș.

I'm not from that region but for some reason I am in love with Maramureș so I made her maramureșeancă :)

She's always had trouble making friends which made her feel somehow isolated and that made her even more closed off than she already is by nature.

She often feels envious of her other Romanian classmate who seems to have such a happy and cheerful life, always going around places, always with friends.

Her mother seems to have a hard time understanding the struggle she's going through and often almost ignores it.

I would start writing her story but I'm still not sure how exactly to start. That's always my problem, the start :///

Also idk but when I listen to old Romanian music (by that I mean 2012-2016) I feel like Smiley is her vibe

Ok idk why I avoid so much to start talking more about Romanian culture because I also want to show the small drawings that I do but I always go like "Nah my drawings suck" but like- I'm always going to think my drawings suck???? And also- an artist never stops learning and improving?????

This is like random things I did (mainly sketches as you can tell) but I actually like them so much and I have so many ideas for stories and stuff and I want to share them aaaaaa

Anyway here is the middle picture which is like a painting I did a few weeks ago based on an old picture from pinterest of a Romanian lady. This was supposed to be like an experiment but it came out way better than expected idk idk

This lil sketch was inspired by the hairstyle of Romanian women from last century I thought it was pretty cute but perhaps back then they didn't have time nor the products to better take care of hair :/

(also idk if you noticed but her ie is the same as the top-left drawing from the collage)

(if you don't know what an "ie" is, it's a Romanian traditional blouse. The plural is ii btw :))

Also I feel like I got a lot inspired by Rada Niță but I have no complains 'cause she is amazing if I were to meet her I think I'd die

But just to throw it out there the girl from the sketch above with the braids and ceapsă is called Doina (I love this name idk)

For those who don't understand the kid is screaming: "I'm here dad! Come here!" His father comes and asks him: "where is your mother?" The kid cries: "she died, she died."

Then the child explains that his foot is injured and his father tries to comfort him.

This is evil. The child literally met his dad at the hospital by accident, he watched his mom die and had to break the news to his father. What kind of power will save these children from this trauma? I know children in gaza are so strong and resilient, but children are children regardless.

What I did today in English class in my agenda + some English notes because I forgot my notebook at home:

I coloured her with my markers. I have like 8 in my pencil case and most are weird colours

I'm pretty proud of this drawing because last time I tried to draw Mitsuri it came out like sh:t.

The only problem is that I'm not sure if I can draw her like this again 😭

I also made this drawing of Shinobu last week. It's more of a random sketch I did because I had lost my Shinobu keychain that day. It was 8 euros for God's sake 😭😭😭😭
