Account Update 2
Hi everyone! I know it has been a while since I last posted, but life has been crazy busy, and I have been dealing with a lot recently. My health has not been good, and I've been sick for a month straight with one illness after another. On top of that, someone who I was really close to passed away recently, and this week has been the start of the new semester at my university. Because of everything going on, I will be extending my break from writing. This post is not goodbye, but I need a moment for my life to be stable before I feel like I can devote the time and energy this account deserves. I will still be checking my notifications from time to time, however, there will be no new posts until I am in a space where that is emotionally and physically feasible. Thank you for all the well wishes on my last update, this community has gotten me through a pretty rough time in my life, and I look forward to the future when I can take a more active role in the community like I once did.

Brief Account/Life Update
Hey y'all,
I just wanted to come on here and give a brief update as to what is going on in my life since it will be impacting this account and my upload schedule. Some of you may have noticed that there was no weekly update earlier this week, and there for sure will not be one next week either. I have a lot going on right now (I am a full-time student and I work two jobs) and at least for the next few weeks, I will be on hiatus. I am hoping that that the break will be short and temporary, but I will have to see what my life outside of tumblr looks like in the upcoming weeks. I appreciate you guys and how much this account has grown in such a short amount of time! I wish you all the best for the time being, and I hope to see you on the other side!
Best,
Mo

Topics of Research (chain x reader)
This work is a part of my Hyrule Historian AU, for more information, check out my masterlist.
As a historian, you were well versed in what remained of Hyrule's history after the calamity scourged the land prior to your birth. You had studied almost every text and document you could get your hands on searching diligently for the answers to a question you never voiced aloud. You even asked the locals of different areas of Hyrule hoping on the off chance somehow someone somewhere still has some tribal knowledge left on the subject of your interest. However, no matter how hard you searched, you still had very little luck.
After the calamity, you scoured through the entirety of the library in Hyrule castle searching for something, anything that could lead you to even the faintest of clues regarding your search. But you found nothing, at least nothing you didn't already know. You pondered how something could manage to be completely wiped from history. It made you sad, you seemed like the only person in all of Hyrule who had even the faintest clue that this being even existed in the first place.
Wild had tried to help you, making sure you took breaks from the stacks of books covering your desk, he knew whatever you were looking for was important to you, even though he had no idea what that thing was. He tried asking you about it once, but you shrugged him off, claiming that he wouldn't understand even if you told him. You claimed that no one knew what you were looking for, but you remembered and that should have been enough right? But it wasn't your brain craved more.
Then you found yourself with the chain, ripped away from your research, but with a new opportunity in front of you. It was possible that you could find new information about your research topic in the past eras you were traveling through.
And you certainly did find new information almost right away. The markings on the Hero of Time were dangerously close to those you had sketched in your notebook a million times over. There was no denying it these were the same markings that not only haunted your research, but also your dreams.
You wanted to ask him about it but decided not to since he was a stranger and it would be extremely suspicious if you started to interrogate him. You hoped he would volunteer information regarding the markings and what they were connected to on his own volition. Time was not the open book you had hoped he would be, however, he did mention in passing that he had fought the moon, which you hypothesized was somehow related to your topic of research, but you had no proof.
Still, you searched through libraries when you had the luxury of staying in a town with one for more than a couple of hours. Jotting down any seemingly relevant information in your notebook. Despite all your hard work, there were still no hard leads in your investigation.
Eventually, the chain ended up in your and Wild's Hyrule plopped in the middle of Hateno beach. You decided to split the party so half of the group stayed with Wild in his house and the rest of the group would stay with you in your house at the base of the orchard under the Ancient Tech Lab.
Of course, before this could be accomplished, you needed to check in with Purah, who immediately scolded you and Wild for disappearing without a trace. She was extremely interested in the portals and asked you to gather any information you could about how they formed. You agreed and before you knew it you were travelling back down the hill towards Hateno.
It was decided that Time, Twilight, Warriors, and Wind would stay with you in your home. You led the boys through the entrance to your cottage apologizing for the accumulation of dust in your absence. The downstairs of your house was extremely simple, with a kitchen area, a couch with a sitting area centered around the fireplace, and a small storage area underneath the stairs.
You led the group up the stairs to your study/library area as well as your bedroom. It was decided that Twilight would share your bed with you, while the rest camped out on the floor of your study. You almost missed the way that Time's eyes glanced at the detailed drawings of a being long forgotten plastered on the wall. His eyes opened in surprise before he attempted to mask his shock and proceeded to yell at Wind for messing with your books.
In all honestly, you had forgotten how many of them there were, it made you feel a little insane and embarrassed at your obsession. But you couldn't help it, you needed to know more, you needed to know who and what this being was. You needed to know why it chose to save you.
The Yiga clan, fierce agents of chaos dedicated to the cause of Calamity Ganon. While in passing these individuals seemed more like fools than foes, they were definitely not to be taken lightly. They were foul condemnable bastards, who would stop at nothing to praise what they held dear, even if that meant the murder of an extremely small child.
Broken glass and blood littered the floor, and bodies of fallen footsoldiers lay at its feet. A double helix sword caked in the same red blood as the blademaster's chest it was just pulled from. Bright white eyes checked the area for any missing enemies before moving to pick up the crying child behind it. It shushed you murmuring words you would never forget, "It's okay little one, you are safe now, I'll protect you"
Footsteps could be heard outside, the rush of Sheikah soldiers too late to quell the scourge of the Yiga clan from the property. And just like that it was gone. The Sheikah soldiers entered the house taking in the sight of a baby not even the age of one alone on the table surrounded by tens of dead Yiga soldiers, the room reaking of death.
The captain, who had caught a glimpse of your savior through the window, searched the room diligently for missing the diety but came up empty-handed. This very same captain would take you under his very own roof and care for you as one of his own. He would even pass on his own drawings of the being he had seen through the window that day.

It's not a Crush! (Warriors x reader)
Warriors was in too deep. He never expected to have such strong feelings for you, but he couldn't help himself. It started off simple enough, with him admiring you from afar and wanting to get to know you better. But that was normal, right? To want to get to know another member of the team, to admire how strong and smart they are, and to think about what it would be like to kiss their very soft plump lips.
He tried his best to not make his feelings known, he is so very scared of making you uncomfortable, after all, he thinks he would rather die than have you upset with him. He has seen you angry before, he thinks he would shatter on the spot if that glare was ever aimed at his direction. But that is normal, right? After all, Warriors doesn't like to be on the receiving end of one of Time's glares either.
He normally has no issues with flirting with pretty people, but for some reason with you, it feels different, like he would be preying on you. And he doesn't want to make you afraid of him. Plus, most of the people he flirts with are people he will never see again, and he prays to all that is holy that he will get to spend more time with you. He knows he'll be devastated beyond repair when the group goes home after going through so much together, when you go home, without him.
He tries to distance himself from you when he realizes his admiration is slightly stronger than the kind reserved for friends. He really doesn't want to mess up and have to see you every day as a constant reminder of what he believes is an inevitable rejection. He reminds himself that he has self-control.
You are his diety, his guiding light. How could you ever feel the same way about him? But staying away from you is so very hard, he wants so badly to be near you, to discuss his deepest darkest fears as you wrap your perfect arms around his undeserving body.
He steals glances at you from across the campfire and checks up on you specifically after battles. But he's not being obvious, that's just normal behavior when you care about someone, and why wouldn't he care about you? He cares about the others, this is the same thing, right? He supposes that the only difference is that he doesn't want to pull the others in for a kiss after finding out they are still alive and kicking.
He ends up giving in to his desires a few months in, following you around like a lost puppy, offering to carry your belonging for you, to roll up your bedroll, or any other tasks he can potentially assist you with. He helps the other boys too, and you're not a hero, so as a captain, you deserve more of his attention than the others, you haven't done and see the same things that they have after all. He's just trying to help, plus he gets to spend more time with you this way.
Time and some of the others have been aware of his infatuation for a while, but it takes a little bit longer for Wind, the youngest of the heroes to figure out Warriors' feelings. Taking the role of a younger sibling to heart, Wind takes it upon himself to annoy the hell out of Warriors. He teases him constantly despite Warriors trying his best to deny his motivations for wanting to help you around camp.
Wind purposely will ask you and Warriors to help him with things he could very easily have done on his own, and one time he even set up Warriors' bedroll right next to yours in the guise of being nice to the older hero and helping him get ready for bed. Warriors didn't sleep at all that night, he was too distracted by your soft snores, and imagining you curled up beside him in a shared bed in the house he hopes to provide for you. His heart pounds at the thought, and he curses the young sailor for his realization and the emotions that flood his system at the thought.

Secrets
This work is a part of my Hyrule Historian AU, for more information, check out my masterlist.
A/N: This post in particular was inspired by @orcusnoir and their weird chain headcanons. I wanted to take my own spin on the topic and include some weird headcanons for the historian! reader.
Secrets ran just as swiftly as blood through the veins of the chain. Little did they know that the historian joining their group also had their fair share of secrets that they kept hidden under lock and key as well.
The Hero of the Wild is starting to remember his past life more than he likes to let on. He doesn't want to be held to the same standard as the version of him from the past, he doesn't think he could ever go back to being like that, not after he got a taste of the freedom that adventure brings with it.
The Hero of Time can tell the moon's phase even during the brightest part of the day when the sun is at its peak. This effect remains the same even if the chain has recently changed eras. He is extremely anxious the first time they end up in Wild's Hyrule, he can sense the blood moon even if it is weeks away. He can sense the great dread and power that comes along with it, and it suffocates him.
The Hero of Legend can sense when magic courses its way through an object even from a considerable distance. He can feel the spirits that have attached themselves to many of the masks that the others carry with them. Their voices whisper to him in his dreams.
The Hero of Wind can always tell which direction the nearest body of water is. This skill comes in handy when finding a good spot to set up camp.
The Hero of Twilight sees figures in mirrors, and he knows no one else can see them. They drive him nuts and plague his nightmares. He hopes that one day one of the figures will be her, but he doesn't think he'll remain sane enough to see the day that happens.
The Hero of the Sky can understand the songs the birds sing, and the horror stories that pass through their beaks. This ability is why Sky likes to sleep in, past when early morning chirping from the local birds has ceased.
The Hero of Warriors can tell the second something dies. He has faced so much loss on the battlefield, that he knows the second a heart stops beating, this also applies to the hearts of enemies.
The Hero of Hyrule always knows what direction the nearest town or settlement is in, it doesn't matter if the chain is in his Hyrule or not. His feet will always lead him back to the people he has sworn to protect.
The Hero of the Four Sword can tell when people mask their personalities from others. The colors are quick to point out how a person is holding their true selves back. Being near the chain can be overwhelming because of this phenomenon. Being a hero of courage often lends itself to self-concealment for the greater good, or at least that's what they all try to claim. In reality, masking one's personality also works wonders at masking one's sins.
The Historian knows things they should have no logical way of knowing, things that the history books never recorded, things that happened thousands of years before their time. They know things people have never even spoken out loud, but somehow they still know. They understand the heroes they travel with because of this ability, and frequently have to stop themselves from spilling secrets that do not belong to them.
The Historian can hear the whispers of the shadows, which makes sneaking up on them almost impossible. The shadows are quick to warn them of the impending danger and who is coming, even if that danger is really just a squirrel or even one of the members of the chain. Because of this ability, sleep does not come easy. The historian often stays up late, feeling the eyes of the forest against their skin.

Twilight comforts Reader
A/N: This piece is written with the historian from my Hyrule Historian AU, in mind, but it can be read as a stand-alone piece. For more information and links to previous works in the series, please check out my masterlist here.
The past few days had been a lot to handle.
You were exhausted and desperate to finally be in a situation where you could let your guard down, however, the seemingly constant interactions with monsters and the Shadow along your journey made the task of relaxation impossible.
On this particular night, the chain had set themselves up to camp in a small underbrush in the woods. You hoped to find the other side of the never-ending collection of trees in the morning.
Twilight was on watch, his eyes constantly scanning the treeline for fear that another attack would occur while the rest of the team peacefully slept. A lone wolf in charge of the safety of his pack.
It seemed like the past few days had also taken their toll on the hero as he sat rigid with adrenaline as the skin under his eyes continued to darken from their already purple hue.
You didn't fair much better. Since you were not as well trained of a fighter as the men you traveled with, your body was exhausted and not used to the stamina you had to exert in the act of simply keeping yourself alive, especially in battle. Your body was bruised beyond comprehension, and your muscles and lungs burned like the inside of Death Mountain.
Despite how heavy your limbs felt or how dry your eyes were, you could not sleep. There was something amidst the air. Something you could not shake, no matter how hard you tried.
You were afraid. You were afraid of the red eyes and dark body of the creature that haunted your group from the start of your adventure. You feared the shadows capable of hiding such a foul being with little to no effort. You feared seeing the deaths of your traveling companions, feared seeing them slaughter in front of you, even more than you feared your own death. You were terrified, and nothing you tried was able to lessen the feeling of dread slowly suffocating you from the inside out.
The fear instilled into your body at that very moment worried you, as it was extremely uncharacteristic. You had always been slightly odd in a way. You found yourself drawn to the darker things in life and you revelled in the comfort that the shadows brought. You had never been afraid of the dark, even as a small child. You mused that the monsters would be there, and whether it was light or dark did not matter. But not anymore.
You had seen things, or rather you had seen IT. The Shadow sent shivers down your spine like nothing you had ever encountered before. The Shadow has practically killed Twilight for Hylia's sake. The Shadow left you feeling alone, segregated from the comfort of the shadows, and thrust into the fleeting and unstable arms of the light. You hated it. You hated how weak you felt, how alone, how vulnerable, as the light from the fire graced your trembling body.
You never trusted the light, its harsh light only held lies for the future, but now it was all that you had to grasp onto for any semblance of comfort in these trying times.
You curled further into the ball you had formed with your body inside of your bedroll, and your eyes frantically searched the shadows, feeling like you were being stalked from all sides, rather than the cold embrace you were accustomed to from the night. Your body began to shake and your breath became uneven.
You didn't even register what was happening at first, too caught up in your mind, too caught up in your fear.
Your mind became hazy as you shook in terror in the cold of the night. You nearly jumped out of your skin, pleading for your life, as a pair of boots crunched on the leaves beside you.
"Hey, you're okay, I'm not going to hurt you. It's me Twi, shush darlin' I've got you" He spoke in a soft but stern voice as his arms wrapped around you, shielding you from the shadows that plagued your mind.
He was warm, a pleasant relief from the cold winds of the forest, and he sat there with you for what felt like forever. Arms rubbing your back and words of encouragement and comfort being whispered in your ear as you shook against his chest.
He brought you more comfort than the shadows ever had and more comfort than the light would ever give, you were sure.
You didn't remember much after that, except the voice of Legend grumpily getting up for his shift on watch, but you still curled up in the comfort of Twilight, the personification of the point where the darkness meets the light.
When you awoke at dawn, nuzzled into the hero of Twilight, drinking in his warmth like you were a person starved, you felt safe and relaxed for the first time in days, and safer than you ever imagined you would feel again.
Now your favorite time of day was when the sun began to set, the twilight, the balance between light and dark. A sense of something familiar, yet you couldn't quite place why.

IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE!!
Recently I’ve seen that two content creators for the LU fandom, @neverchecking and @angry-trashcan have gotten their work stolen and reposted by this chunkyfireplace person.
Now this shit is NEVER okay, claiming something that someone else has worked hard on for hours and hours, taken time out of their own day to complete and get done and actually be happy with enough to post and then just posing as if YOU’VE DONE THAT WORK
Honestly disgusting.
This is just a warning to all the LU content creators, keep an eye out for this person in case they come after your works.
And for anyone who thinks doing this shit is okay? Grow up and be a better person, copying and stealing ain’t cute.
( @neverchecking and @angry-trashcan I am so sorry you guys are having to go through something like this, your works are great and they don’t deserve being stolen and reposted)

Hero of Nonsense
Part of my Hyrule Historian AU, for more information, check out my masterlist!
It all started with a small tavern in a village that you and the chain had stopped to rest in for a few days, before continuing on your adventure.
Several of you were gathered around a table laughing and drinking away. Legend, Four, Hyrule, and Wind were left back at the inn for various reasons including tiredness and not being old enough to drink according to Time's standards.
You had a couple of ales at this point in the night, but it was nothing you couldn't handle. Many of the boys (Warriors and Wild) with you had been downing beer with vigor ever since the group had entered the tavern.
You were currently situated in Time's Hyrule, so Warriors had no reason to hide from any angry women seeking revenge at least this time, though this did not stop him from flirting with a table of beautiful women in the corner, even though he would likely never see them again.
Time and Sky were engaged in polite conversation, mostly about their relationships, though you weren't entirely certain, the noise of the others seemed to mask most of their words from your ears.
Wild was currently rambling to you about something. However, you weren't sure what exactly he was rambling about, being unable to focus on much in the chaotic environment, while Twilight sat quietly on the other side of you.
The Hero of Twilight had been oddly quiet since the group had finished their dinner and he seemed content with observing Warriors and Wild's menacing behavior from afar.
After noticing that you were not really paying attention to what he said, your best friend stopped his ramblings and stalked after Warriors to see what the other man was up to.
Suddenly, you became very aware of a set of eyes bearing themselves into your soul. You turned your head to meet Twilight's eyes.
"Care to share with the class?" you asked teasingly.
Twilight seemed caught off guard by your question, and an embarrassed blush quickly coated his features.
"I was just thinking," he responds
"Thinking about what?"
"Uhh," Twilight's words are quickly interrupted by the Champion hurriedly grabbing the man by his shoulder, shaking his body, and spouting an anxious string of absolutely incoherent words. He seemed to be panicked and tried to move Twilight towards the direction of the door.
"Woah, slow down cub, what are you trying to say?" Twilight asks clearly concerned for the younger hero. The following words, or lack thereof, terrify you.
Wild spouts the most indiscernible gibberish you have ever heard, and you are a scholar who has studied the many different languages of Hyrule's past. As a linguistics expert and historian, you are very alarmed by his behavior. You begin to worry. In all your time traveling with your best friend, you have never seen him like this. Did he really get so drunk he forgot how to speak Hylian? Was that even possible?
Panicked both you and Twilight share a look, before ushering Time over to you. The eldest hero seems just as confused as the rest of you as to what the hell the Champion is trying to say. Wild is waving his hands around frantically and shouting gibberish in the Old Man's face. This was not good. Ultimately, it is decided that Time and Sky will escort both Warriors and Wild back to the inn to rest, and get Wild checked out by Hyrule to see if he needs any sort of medical attention.
When you and Twilight offer to help take the now Hero of Nonsense back to the inn with the others, Time refuses claiming that he has it handled and that you and Twilight should be able to relax and not worry about any added stress. You have a feeling the act of allowing you and Twilight to stay in the tavern has something to do with Time favoring his new-found descendant, but you elect not to say anything about your suspicions.
After Sky and Time manage to wrangle the two drunkards out of the tavern, you become painfully aware of your situation. You are all alone with Twilight, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't great either.
You had revealed your knowledge of Wolfie to Twilight by accident just a couple of weeks ago and while you weren't on bad terms with the hero, this was probably the first time you had ever been left alone with him both since the incident and without the rest of the chain being nearby.
You had nothing against the Hero of Twilight, in fact, you quite enjoyed his company as the two of you had been hanging out with Wild frequently, but you felt awkward being left alone with him, especially since your mind was elsewhere. You weren't sure what to say, normally you waited for Wild to talk and slipped your opinions in here and there. But that option was out the window with Wild's extremely concerning behavior refusing to leave your mind. Not to mention Twilight didn't seem to be most chatty based on his behavior from earlier, and you weren't looking forward to silently staying in the tavern while you worried about Wild's well-being.
Twilight seemed to notice your anxiety, "I am sure he will be okay the others will make sure of it," Twilight reassured.
"I know," you state with a sigh, "I have just never seen him like this"
"You really care about the Champion don't you?" Twilight asks but his smile doesn't quite reach his eyes.
"Of course, he's my best friend and the only reminder of home in all the chaos of era-hopping we've been doing lately," you laugh though you aren't exactly feeling cheerful.
Twilight nods, he looks like he has more to say but elects to stay silent.
After about an hour of various forms of small talk, you ask Twilight to leave, you are exhausted and still worried about Wild and his odd speech. You need sleep. You doubt the nonsense spouter is still awake at this point, so you'll have to wait for the morning to see if his speech has improved.
In the morning, you discover that Wild's speech has in fact returned to normal, and he was in fact too inebriated to speak the only language he's ever known. You are relieved, but that doesn't stop you from relentlessly teasing the man, giving him the new title of Hero of Nonsense which amuses both yourself and many other members of the chain.
Talking to Twilight also comes easier, and you find that he comes up to talk to you more than he usually would as the chain gets ready to leave the town and return to the adventure at hand.

A Talk of Scars
Part of the Hyrule Historian AU, for more information, check out my masterlist.
Warnings: angst, scars, mentions of death, blood, canon typical violence
There were many things that went unspoken amongst the chain, and for the most part, scars were one of them. The specific details of your and Wild's past were also one of these unspoken topics.
You assisted Wild in his journey to defeat the calamity and that journey left you both with more scars than you could count, both emotionally and physically.
Wild had chosen to share some moments of vulnerability with the chain, as he felt like he knew these men already, the soul of the hero binding the Links together. You on the other hand were not so quick to divulge your secrets to the chain.
You did not become close friends with the chain until after the whole debacle of them misunderstanding your relationship with Wild. They had been too afraid to get close to you, lest they make Wild jealous. However, after the air had been cleared, and you had clarified that you and Wild you in fact not in a romantic relationship, many members of the chain started to open up to you.
That being said, some things are better left unspoken.
There was one particular scar that littered your body that you tried your best to cover and never mentioned it or the events that gifted your skin the twisted ruby mark. This behavior was not for your own sake, but rather the sake of the hero who mourned letting his best friend sustain such an injury, for the hero who continued to mourn his failures.
However, sometimes secrets become uncovered and there is nothing you can do to stop the flow of emotions that follow such a poignant reveal.
You had been injured, a Moblin had slashed a fairly deep wound into your side. The boys circled around you after the battle, as they managed to not sustain any injuries themselves, they moved to help their fallen companion.
Wild knelt down beside you, ordering that you remove your tunic so that Hyrule could treat the wound. You hesitated, knowing what would be revealed if you followed your best friend's command.
After a moment of pause, you finally decided to lift up your shirt revealing both the Moblin slash and the massive burn mark that covered your entire stomach. You could feel Wild's eyes linger on the scar, deep in thought, clearly remembering what had caused the wound.
Both you and Wild were on the last leg of your journey. The only thing that needed to be done now was to enter Hyrule Castle and defeat the calamity once and for all. That sentiment was clearly easier said than done. Hyrule Castle was utterly infested with monsters and guardians alike, that was no secret, but your duo was definitely not as prepared as you should have been.
You tried your best to keep your guard up, you really did, but the exhaustion from fighting had more than cemented itself into both of your muscles. Wild seemed even more distracted than you. He was hellbent on moving forward no matter what, and had little regard for his own safety, or yours for that matter. This behavior worried you, and so you had taken it upon yourself to monitor the blond man's movements. After all, the kingdom of Hyrule really couldn't afford the hero failing for a second time.
It happened so quick. You were quick to notice the red beam of light that centered itself on the hero's back, you knew there was no time to call out and warn him. Instead, you did what you thought was best for both Wild and the people of the kingdom, putting your own body in between the hero and the cruel blast of the guardian. White pain seared through your body as you pushed Wild to the side with all the force you could muster.
Your body collapsed, ears ringing, and vision splotchy. Your brain was foggy but you were still conscious enough to register the fact that Wild was parrying the oncoming beams of the guardian. When the beeping had finally ceased and the mechanical beast lay unmoving, Wild ran to your side.
His hands lifted you up, trying his best to reposition your body so that he could administer first aid as soon as possible as a growing puddle of blood formed beneath you. As Wild moved to hand you a healing elixir, you raised your hand up to push it away. Confused and panicked Wild attempted the same thing and once again you refused his assistance.
"Stop being so stubborn or you are going to end up dying! Let me heal you please," he voiced quickly and full of fright.
"No, you need the all elixirs you can get for when you face the calamity, I don't want to be the reason the hero of Hyrule was one potion too short and couldn't vanquish the scourge of Hyrule," you stated simply despite the pain that engulfed your body.
"Absolutely not, I am not leaving you here to die," Wild commanded as his hand moved to open the cork of the elixir.
You looked up at your best friend before sternly voicing, "I will happily die here by myself if it means that the entire kingdom is safe. You know how bad the monster attacks have been recently, Zelda needs you now."
The argument continued to go on for several minutes before Wild finally conceded to leaving you to bleed out. The only thing that convinced him to move forward on his quest was you stating that he was only prolonging your pain, and if he left now and not a second later, then there was a chance that once he defeated the calamity, there wouldn't be a dead body, your dead body, laying on the side of the castle.
You lay there by yourself bleeding out, praying to all that is holy that Wild would be able to save Hyrule and that your sacrifice wouldn't be in vain. You tried your best to hold on to consciousness but you were fighting a losing battle.
Wild flung himself at the Calamity with such force and anger that he even worried himself. But he had a mission to complete, he had to get back to you, and he couldn't let another one of his friends die because of his failure.
As soon as Zelda returned to the surface of Hyrule and put an end to Ganon, Link took off running towards the Castle. Zelda worriedly followed him trying to figure out what was going on. It was when they arrived before you that a great sense of dread could be felt in the air.
Wild collapsed next to you sobbing and checking for a pulse that was no longer there. It was then that Zelda walked up behind the hero and dropped to your side as well. In a last-ditch effort, Zelda reached out and engulfed your body in glowing warm light. It was then that your heart restarted.
"Stop staring at it, I am fine now aren't I?" You said dismissively as Wild eyed the mark the guardian left on your skin. The wound on your side had just been healed by Hyrule and you were about to put your tunic back on.
"You died, that should have never happened," his harsh words rang out. Each member of the chain snaps their head in your direction. Sure they had heard that the champion had died and got back up to fight once more, but you? They had never heard that story, at least not until now.
They would ask questions later, but for now, they would respectfully ignore the new piece of information they learned about their dear historian.
Clearly you and Wild had a lot you needed to talk about if the tension in the air was anything to go by. Time ordered that the others leave the two of you alone for now, and you were once again left with your best friend by your side, begging you to see the fault in your sacrifice. He didn't care that Hyrule might have fallen, he only cared that you fell, that your heart had stopped beating, that you had left him to fend for himself without you, he only cared about you.

Reader and Warriors have to pretend to be married
Use of suggestive language ahead
You weren't sure how you ended up in this situation, but you certainly didn't regret it.
You were wrapped in Warriors arms as the early morning sunlight poured through the windows of the inn the two of you were staying at. You snuggled further into the hero as the chill of the morning sent a shiver down your spine, maybe a few more minutes of rest wouldn't hurt.
It started with a series of unfortunate events that led to you and Warriors being separated from the rest of the chain in a snowstorm.
Luckily, the two of you were able to navigate to a nearby town to seek shelter from the storm. You hoped that the rest of the chain would find you soon, and if not, then the two of you would be forced to leave the town to look for them yourselves.
Warriors led you through town, a hand clasped tightly around your wrist, as he desperately looked for an inn. Soon a sign was spotted and you were being dragged into its threshold.
Warriors headed to the front desk, finally letting you fall free from his hold, and began to ask the owner if he could have two rooms. The owner replied that there was only one room available, Warriors sighed and replied with a quick, "That's fine"
However, the inn owner was not happy with this answer. He replied that he would only rent the room to a married couple in a stern voice as he glared at Warriors.
Warriors then looked over at you before wrapping an arm around you and stating, "We are married"
You wished you were anywhere but here. A blush rose on your face at the close contact of the man you had recently accepted that you had a crush on.
The owner of the inn wasn't buying the facade and questioned why a married couple would want two rooms.
Feelings Warriors tense beside you, you finally decided to speak up, "We wanted two rooms because my husband and I just got into an argument on the way here, and I was hoping to get some time away from him so he'll come to his senses" you replied matter of factly before glaring in Warriors direction.
The innkeeper raised an eyebrow in your direction, and seemed to accept your answer as he slipped the sign-in sheet towards your 'husband'
After Warriors signed the two of you in and handed the inn owner payment for the room, he grabbed your hand and began to walk towards the stairs before he was interrupted by the inn owner.
"Sir, on the off chance you do come to your senses and make up with your wife, try not to be too loud, I don't want my other customers to be disturbed by any obscene noises"
Warriors froze in his tracks a deep red blush covering his cheeks as he quickly dropped your hand, "I promise we won't be too loud," his voice croaked out. Embarrassed he practically dashed up the stairs.
You faired no better, pink dusted your face and you wished to fall onto the floor and die right then and there. You wanted to get away from the inn owner as soon as possible, but you certainly weren't looking forward to being alone with Warriors after that comment.
Ultimately you decided to quickly follow after the blond up the steps toward your room. After Warriors unlocked the room and stepped in you moved into the room plopping yourself on the bed and refusing to look in Warriors' direction. You hadn't even bothered to remove your snow-caked boots.
You heard shuffling behind you as Warriors moved about the room, stripping himself of his bag and gear. You stiffened as the sound of his footsteps got closer. Soon you felt a presence sit itself on the other side of the bed.
"That tired already?" Warriors questioned with a teasing smirk. You didn't have to see it to know it was there, you could hear it in his voice.
You groaned incoherently still refusing to look up at Warriors afraid of the thoughts you might have about him if you did. It was already bad enough that you had to share a room with him, but the innkeeper's comment was sending you over the edge.
"Hey, at least remove your boots before you fall asleep," Warriors softly voiced.
You felt him get back up off the bed and grab the pillow that was next to your head before you heard a soft thud on the floor. You glanced up to notice Warriors lying on the cold hard ground, no blanket, just the pillow he had snatched from the bed moments before under his head.
"What are you doing?" You asked awestruck at his behavior.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm sleeping on the floor."
You moved to sit up and began removing your boots as you voiced an incredulous, "Why?"
"Because I'm a gentleman and I don't want to make you uncomfortable," he replied matter of factly
"Who said I was uncomfortable?" You said while looking down at his form lying across the floor in a clearly uncomfortable position.
Warriors looked up at you raising one of his blond eyebrows in response, "Nobody, I just assumed that you would be,"
"Well I'm not," you said staring him in the eyes despite the fact that you felt like you were going to explode due to nerves.
Warriors looks at you for a moment, as if he's waiting for you to retract your statement before standing up and getting into the bed beside you. You slip yourself out of your coat and under the covers before facing away from the man beside you.
He shuffles around under the covers, maintaining a small distance between the two of you, "Is this okay?" he asks.
"Yeah," you replied in a soft voice, smiling while you spoke.
And the two of you struggle to drift off to sleep hearts pounding next to one another. Your nerves were at an all-time high at the proximity, but you didn't regret it. It just felt so domestic. You dreaded the blush and nerves that would surely greet you in the morning, but for now, you would try your best to embrace the calming grip that sleep was starting to encapsulate you with.

Reader finds out Twilight is Wolfie before Wild
Part of my Hyrule Historian AU, for more info, check out my masterlist!
You and Wild shared a lot of things as best friends. You shared food, secrets, gossip, clothing, and sometimes even a bed. But one thing you tried not to share was your every waking thought, especially thoughts that could be deemed as obvious observations.
You quickly learned while traveling with the chain, that your definition of obvious was very different from Wild's definition of obvious.
You considered Wild to be a very observant person during your adventure to defeat the calamity in your own Hyrule, but you were reminded how much of an idiot the Champion was when the topic of Wolfie came up.
Within your first week traveling with the chain, you were suspicious of the relationship between Wolfie and Twilight. Something just seemed off, so the scholar in you decided to start taking note of the two of them to figure out what exactly was going on.
Your observations started to practically write themselves.
You were quick to notice a pattern start to form: whenever Wolfie was with the chain, Twilight was nowhere to be seen, and whenever Twilight was with the chain, Wolfie was nowhere to be seen.
You also noticed Wolfie's ability to follow the chain, despite the use of travel via portals that the chain used to hop from one era to another. The only other beings you had noticed were able to accomplish this feat were the shadow and the mailman.
Wolfie also only accepted kissing from "pretty girls" and got annoyed at the boys when they showed him the same affection you did, which seemed exactly like something a Link would do if he had the ability to turn into a canine.
If you had been particularly affectionate to Wolfie, Twilight would avoid you for the rest of the day, which seemed like reason enough to link the two together, since it was a normal reaction to be flustered when someone kissed you.
Additionally, Twilight always smelled like a dog after he returned from being "missing"
To you the answer to the Wolfie/Twilight mystery was obvious: they were one and the same. You had no idea how Twilight managed to turn himself into your furry friend, but that did not matter at the moment. You figured you would find out the answer to the transformation at some point, as he seemed to not be telling any of the chain about the phenomenon, so why would he tell you? You weren't even a Link, just a historian from the Champion's era.
You hadn't felt the need to divulge any of this information to Wild, as you trusted that he was intelligent enough to figure out the same patterns, but boy were you wrong.
You had no idea that Wolfie had saved your best friend, only to reveal himself as the Hero of Twilight, and you sure as hell didn't think Twilight being Wolfie was a secret.
All of these factors led you to a very amusing scenario, at least it was amusing to you.
You had plopped yourself under a tree a little ways away from camp, that way you could have some peace and quiet to read. Your peace was soon interrupted by your best friend and the wolf by his side.
You looked up, smiled, and waved at the two before speaking, "Hi, Wild. Hi, Twilight."
You were shocked by what occurred next, when Wolfie transformed into Twilight before your very eyes looking very betrayed and upset before he turned to face Wild.
"You told them! I thought I specifically asked you not to tell anyone!" he shouted at the other young man. Before you could reply a very offended-looking Wild stood up for himself.
"I didn't tell them anything! They must have figured it out on their own. If there's one thing I know about them it's that they are definitely smarter than all of us, especially me. Did you really think I would so easily break a promise? I'm hurt." Wild frowned looking up at Twilight.
"It was supposed to be a secret?" you asked innocently, not intending to make Twilight upset. "I didn't know, I apologize if I said something I shouldn't have. I just thought it was common knowledge that you were Wolfie, after all, you don't do a great job at hiding it," You said while smirking at the hero before you.
Twilight was quick to apologize to both you and Wild following his outburst. Honestly, Twilight was a little relieved that someone else in the group knew his secret, and he started to become closer to you as well.
That being said, Twilight was embarrassed at how quickly you were able to find out his secret on your own, and Wild was annoyed that you didn't tell him that you figured it out.
Oh well, you guessed you would be sure to inform your local idiots of all the things you noticed from now on, as your little duo soon became a trio that included Twilight.

Twilight with a touch adversed S/O who gets touchy when drunk
You were not a very touchy person, in fact, you flinched away from most touch, even Twilight's. It had taken some time for Twilight to accept this about you, as he wanted nothing more than to smother you in his arms if you would allow it.
That being said, Twilight is a true gentleman, he tries his best to respect your boundaries surrounding touch. He is so afraid of upsetting you. He could not get the image of you out of his head when he grabbed onto your hand without asking first, you jumped and flinched away from him. He never wants to make you that uncomfortable again, so he makes sure to ask your consent before even the smallest of touches.
It took Twilight a little while to get used to showing you affection in ways that didn't involve a ton of touch. Twilight grew up in an environment where hugs and small touches were commonplace, so he felt a little out of his element at the start of your relationship.
He really does appreciate you trying to get used to his touch, and he reveilles in the feeling of each and every touch of skin you allow him.
Needless to say, Twilight was absolutely shocked the first time he saw you get drunk. You were all but hanging on both him and Wild, and he couldn't help but feel a little jealous of his brother-in-arms as you stretched across the two of them.
Twilight isn't complaining about your sudden switch in behavior though, the sudden touch from you is more than welcome, but he is still surprised at the absolute one-eighty you are from your sober self.
You are currently nestled on Twilight's lap with your legs thrown over Wild, and Twilight thinks he could die of happiness. Especially when you hold his face in your hands and look him deep in the eyes during your drunken ramblings.
Twilight wishes he could bask in this moment forever, quick to memorize the way your body is pressed flush against his, and the welcome weight that graces his lap. His arms are wrapped around your waist and he feels a dark flush illuminating his cheeks.
Wild is busy gathering blackmail material on the Sheikah Slate for later. The rest of the chain is equally as shocked at your behavior, as they are all well aware of your aversion to touch. There will definitely be some teasing aimed at your direction tomorrow morning.
Warriors is smirking in the corner, laughing with Sky, and extremely happy that he bought those bottles of wine at the last town they stopped at, as he looks over at Twilight's face lighting up at your touch.

The Chain thinks Wild and Reader are Dating
A/N: Part of the Hyrule Historian Series, for more information check out my masterlist.
You were Wild's best friend, and you had somehow ended up travelling with him and the rest of the chain after being sucked into a portal.
Wild had explained that you were not a hero of courage like the rest of the boys, rather you were a historian by profession, although you had assisted him on his adventure to defeat the Calamity. No one was quite sure why you had entered the portal with Wild, but the group figured that the answer would come soon enough.
The chain knew you and Wild were close, and it was extremely obvious the second they met you.
You were holding hands when the chain come across you and you pressed yourself up to Wild as the two of you were being interrogated as the chain was still trying to figure out who you were.
Not to mention all the teasing and sarcastic jokes that you made at each other's expense. The two of you were able to make the other roll around laughing with a simple facial expression.
It was cemented in most of the chain's minds that you were lovers when Wild set his bedroll right next to yours, leaving absolutely no gap between you. In the early morning, Time and Warriors noticed the way your limbs were draped around each other and how Wild buried himself into your side as he slept.
Prying eyes were quick to notice the way you leaned into one another by the fire, your legs draped over Wild's as he absentmindedly played with your hair as you leaned into his chest.
This behavior was quite normal for your friendship as the two of you had gotten extremely close after travelling together and facing many near death experiences.
In the following weeks, multiple bets surrounding your relationship with Wild started to take place. Four was certain the two of you had to be married because there way no way you would be able to lay next to one another if you weren't betrothed, while Hyrule wasn't so sure of this sentiment.
Various arguments about the topic had happened behind your back, as you and Wild stayed oblivious to the speculation.
You also noticed that many of the boys were quite cautious around you as if they were too scared to get physically close to you. It made you nervous and you honestly thought most of them hated you because of it. You had no idea that they were trying their best to not upset Wild. They did not want to make him jealous by getting too touchy feely to the person they believed to be his spouse.
After a few months together with the chain, most of the boys fully believed that you and Wild were either married or soon to be married. The evidence was stacked a mile high. They had seen you hold hands, hug, sleep on one another, sit on each other's laps, and you had a way of always being able to crack a smile out of the champion even on his darkest of days.
It took an embarrassing amount of time for the chain to realize that true nature of your and Wild's relationship was really just a close friendship.
Twilight had noticed the wedding band on Time's finger and questioned him about it. Time was quick to respond that he was in fact married and that it was quite difficult to be away from his wife Malon for this long.
Sky nodded along, already missing his Zelda, and made a comment about the fact that Wild should be glad to still be traveling with his spouse.
Both of you immediately looked up at each other in shock and immediately started shaking your heads. "W-We're not married, we aren't even together!" You clarified quickly, before Wild finished your thought for you.
"Yeah, they are my best friend, nothing more. You guys seriously thought we were married?" Wild asks while laughing shocked at the boys looking embarrassed and nodding in agreement.
Sky looked ashamed for voicing the thought out loud, and Hyrule could be seen taking a handful of rupees from Four with a smirk. Twilight looked surprisingly happy to learn this information, and Warriors shot him a knowing look.
This misunderstanding quickly became an inside joke between you, Wild, and the rest of the chain, as the two of you would tease them about it off and on for the rest of your adventure together.

The Hyrule Historian
The Hyrule Historian is a series of works I am currently working on that revolve around Wild and his Historian! best friend. These works will not necessarily follow a chronological order but this post will give background for the AU.
Somedays you wonder how you ended up here, in the chain with your best friend and eight other idiots just as stupid as he is though many of them try their best to hide their idiocy.
You thought back on your life and the actions that led you here. If you had told your previous self about all the things you would go through you would have called yourself insane, and deemed the thoughts as delusions of the highest degree.
After all, one day, you were studying Hyrulian history at the Hateno ancient tech lab, and next, you were being whisked away by the Hylian champion, Link, after his hundred-year slumber. It was almost laughable.
Purah had tasked you with accompanying the hero, stating that your knowledge of history would help to fill in the gaps in the hero's memory during his journey across Hyrule. You had no idea what you were getting yourself into.
You were no fighter as you only knew basic self-defense, but that would quickly change as Link was insistent on the fact that you should know how to protect yourself if anything were to happen to him.
You spent most of your days chasing after Link, ensuring he drank enough water, ate something, and tended to his wounds properly. You were exhausted, as being the babysitter to the Hero of Hyrule was no small feat.
Gradually, you and Link became closer, and you would even consider him your best friend. He protected you from harm because you were always a supporting and kind structure in his vastly chaotic life.
Link was so grateful to have you there with him. He asked you so many questions about what had changed since the calamity, and what life was like a hundred years ago. He found your knowledge and reassurance comforting. He liked that he could be vulnerable around you when he was required to be strong at all other moments.
And the longer you assisted Link on his adventure, the more protective he became of you. If anything were to happen to you on his watch, he would never forgive himself. You always had his back, and he vowed to make sure he did the same. It was the least he could do.
But never in a million years did Link think that he would get dragged through a portal to a different Hyrule entirely, fighting alongside other heroes of courage, but he was thankful that at least he had you, his best friend, by his side.

Legend accidentally snaps at S/O when they are having a bad day
A/N: Here's a bonus to my two weekly posts, so enjoy!
Warnings: Angst, canon typical violence, mentions of blood
Today was absolutely dreadful. The chain had been travelling for weeks without any sign of civilized life. Your body ached, muscled and joints sore from travelling and fighting to save your life.
You weren't as strong a fighter as the boys, but you tried your best. The cut on your side was a painful reminder of how weak you were compared to the rest of the team of heroes.
You were insecure about your importance and contribution to the chain quite often, and you tried your best to remain positive. Today seemed to prove that all of your insecurities were true.
It started with not getting enough sleep, followed by sleeping in, which meant you didn't get to help Wild with breakfast like you normally do, followed by multiple monster attacks as your group travelled further into this unknown land.
All of your muscles were tense and you felt like you were going to collapse at any second as the group trudged on into the unknown wilderness.
You wanted to curl up and cry, feeling extremely overwhelmed and in pain. There were no potions left, and Hyrule was getting low on magic. You hadn't even told any of the boys about your injury, deeming that they needed to heal themselves before you, as you weren't as important as them.
Your own boyfriend, Legend, also seemed a bit distant today. Although this didn't offend you per say, you understood, you were all sick of each other and sleeping on the ground for the millionth time.
You did wish that Legend would notice how much you were struggling and offer some words of encouragement, but that would be something extremely out of character for your sarcastic strawberry blond and you knew that. Wishful thinking you supposed.
Time deemed that the group should start to set up camp for the night, as you reached the top of the hill the group had been climbing for the last hour. It would be getting dark soon after all.
Finally, you thought as your eyes started to dart around looking for Legend, you could really use some comfort from your lover right about now.
You spotted him, off in the distant. You slowly made your way over to him slightly limping and grasping at your side, the pain quickly becoming unbearable.
"Hey Leg-" you started as you were quickly closing the gap between you and him.
Your boyfriend snapped his head towards you, clearly annoyed before he harshly barked out, "What do you want?"
Normally, you could handle a grumpy Legend, as it was a rather common occurrence, but not today.
His words felt sharper than the pain in your side and you felt tears quickly brimming your eyes. Suddenly you felt light headed and the colors around you started to swirl together before everything went black.
As soon as your body dropped, Legend leaned forward to try and catch you. Unfortunately, he was too late as you hit the ground with a loud thud.
Several other members of the chain glanced up with worry. Hyrule and Time rushed forward to see what had happened.
Legend was by your side, propping your head up as he checked you for injuries, which didn't take long as the blood from your side pooled into his hands.
Hyrule was quick to notice and softly moved Legend's hands away so he could get a better look at your wound. It was pretty deep and Legend cursed himself for not noticing it sooner. He was supposed to protect you. How long had you been hiding this from him? The last monster attack they faced was hours ago.
As Legend's panic started to raise, he felt a comforting hand on his shoulder as Warriors looked down at him. "Don't beat yourself up, none of us noticed" Legend didn't dignify the man with a response.
Instead, he stayed glued to your side, even after Hyrule was finished healing you.
He felt so guilty. You were the one person he swore to protect, and not only had he failed to protect you, but he also failed to notice that you had been walking around with a deep wound on your side for hours.
Legend's eyes glazed over with worry and he refused to leave your side or accept the meal that the champion had made for him.
When you woke up, you were greeted by a lack of pain on your side. You shifted slightly as you moved to sit up. A sharp intake of breath beside you caught your attention before you were hit with a barrage of harsh words.
"What were you thinking? Don't you know you could have died hiding a wound like that! Why would you ever think that was okay?" Legend spits with a sort of venom in his voice and fire in his eyes.
His anger wasn't directed at you per say, rather at the situation and the fact that he had failed to notice that you were injured. You did not process this though, as you were still groggy from sleep, felt like shit, and woke up to your significant other harshly yelling at you. Tears immediately pooled in your eyes and ran down your face as a sob racked through your body. You whimpered out a pathetic "Why are you yelling at me?"
Legend's eyes softened as he felt a heavy weight on his chest as his heart felt like it was about to crack. "Hey, hey," he soothed, "I didn't mean it, you're okay. I was just worried, really worried. I had no idea you were injured, I am so sorry I didn't notice sooner, " he said in a soft voice as his strong arms started to wrap themselves around you.
Your buried yourself in his arms as you let the weight of your emotions finally let themselves out. You continued to sob into your boyfriend as he whispered kind words of affection. Something you didn't quite think him capable of most days. But he here was, wrapped around you, whispering about how much he loves you and how scared he was to lose you. And for a moment you forget about your pain, and the way the rocks on the ground dig into your body, you forget about the fact that it's been months since you've slept in a real bed, and for one moment in time you are at peace in Legend's loving arms. You feel yourself relax, truly relax, for the first time in weeks and you are lulled back to sleep feeling loved and warm.

Legend with a S/O whose Love Language is Sarcasm
Needless to say out of all of the chain he is the most accepting of your sarcasm because he too is extremely sarcastic.
Legend loves how blunt you are and the teasing twinkle behind your eyes when you taunt him.
The chain is a little taken aback when they first meet you as it seems like you and Legend hate each other. But as soon as they find out the truth about your relationship, they become the little menaces that every Link is at heart. They like to tease Legend for becoming soft and ask if you can stay with the chain because of the way you seem to be able to keep Legend in his place.
Legend feels so relieved that he does not have to feel guilty for his sense of humor around you, after all, he would never intentionally try to hurt you with his quips. He does make sure to reassure you in private moments that he does care about you and that he doesn't mean most of his quips.
Legend would hate himself if he ever made you upset or even cry from one of his jokes. He tries his best to read your emotions before spouting a quip out, in fear that you had a bad day and he becomes your breaking point. It is one of his biggest fears. He never wants to be a source of pain for you.
You are quick to reassure him that you are not offended by his sarcasm and if anything you would be more offended if he stopped. You see the constant quips and jokes as a form of trust and intimacy. Plus, you love teasing him and you don't want your sarcastic banter to end anytime soon.
That being said, he feels extremely appreciative of your soft side that you only show to him in rare private moments. The way you whisper soft praises into his ears in the early morning light, after waking up encased in his arms, and sprinkling kisses along his jawline. It makes him feel giddy that he is the only one that gets to see this side of you and he is so glad that he gets the honor to call you his.
