happy 2nd january!

I was going to go for something winter-themed, but I then started thinking about a character from a short story. (was it written by one of you?) All I remember is that the girl was called cassidy. If I had a character called cassidy, she’d look like this.

I suppose I now do have a character called cassidy, then.

Faye didn’t ask, but Vienna had given it some thought anyway. In the end, she still decided that the day to ride a roller coaster had not yet come.

And while going to the theme park with faye and running around with faye and being surprised by faye is fun and all, at the end of the day, vienna’s probably going to take a 3-hour train ride and then a bus to the edge of the city. To where there are lots of trees and singing birds. To where there’s a wooden teahouse.

And it’ll be quiet (except for the cicadas). By this time, it’ll be dark and the customers would all have gone home. But her dad will be there, like he always is and always has been for her.

happy 2nd november!!

and happy birthday vienna!! they are still celebrating her birthday… at a theme park! which vienna has never been to before, because she finds everything slightly too exciting, too chaotic, too everything there, but… since faye’s around, it’s kind of fun. she likes faye’s kind of chaos sometimes (and faye is usually uncontainable).

vienna was a little frightened at first. It went up and down and up and down and it was off the ground. But faye seems to be having fun. Faye tells her to smile for the camera, and the way she says it makes vienna smile, for real.

faye says that if she wants to, they can just go and sit around and watch the clouds and eat popcorn and cotton candy.

vienna says she wants caramel and cheese popcorn. [edit]

faye asks vienna to pick a hairband! She thinks vienna’s a bit like a unicorn—quite a magical creature. A soft, gentle unicorn.

It’s funny, vienna says.

(she thinks it’s funny to have a sharp pointy thing sticking out the top of her head.)

Eventually, vienna picks rabbit ears because they’re bigger and softer than unicorn ears (and she decides that the horn looks slightly too menacing).

And then they walk around, and get popcorn!! (They’ll get churros later on, probably.)

Aaaaand Faye wants to go for a ride on the roller coaster, but the line is really, really super long and she absolutely hates waiting in line. Vienna, on the other hand, hates roller coasters.
