I'm Sophia I mainly post about the Monarch butterflies I raise from eggs as a hobby. My main blog is Food-study. Instagram is @toomanymonarchs. I take all my pictures and videos myself unless stated or reblogged.
For the first time ever my cat has come over and jumped on my lap. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! For the FIRST TIME EVER! My cat has voluntarily come over to cuddle in my lap. I can die now it’s fine.

The 5yo I am nannying has found a fun game where he likes to sit in a large plastic storage tub he calls jail and complain about being in jail. That’s it. That’s the game. It’s been an hour.
I’ve been reading about making native bee houses and I just keep remembering this one time I went to this outdoor juice stand and the women had a big cup full of bamboo juice straws and while I was waiting in line I saw the cutest little bee flying back and forth from one of the straws, filling it with some bits of paper and leaves to make a tiny nest. Each time it came back it would hover over the bunch of straws looking into each one until it found IT’S straw. When the bee came back I took the straw and slowly moved it out of the pile and away from the juice stand as the bee fallowed. I placed it in a safe spot away from people and the bee happily went about continuing to build its home.
I think about that bee a lot and hope it is happy with it’s bamboo straw house.
This cat is too smart this morning he woke me up by bringing me his toy, one of those fishing pole ones with the toy on a string. He set it next to me and just stared at me. 😂 I guess it’s playtime?
First time cat owner thing I just learned:
Cats like to rip up packages and letters just like dogs do. We just got back from a 3 day weekend at my grandparents house and he had quite a pile of small shredded packages and mail by his bed. 📦 🐈

The moth hatched and it was Female, I didn’t get a good pic of her but she came out deformed. However I left her outside in a cage and a male found her. I scooped him up and put him in the cage with her and they lived an entire week together. She laid about 130 eggs. I’ll keep you updated when they hatch 😊
No pupae were harmed in the making of this post 😂 My cousin gve me what I think is a polyphemus moth cocoon. I wanted to make sure it was alive so I opened it’s cocoon up to see the chrysalis inside. It is very much alive and I hope I get to watch it hatch someday soon 😊
My female Polyphemus Moth laid around 85 eggs! Correct my counting of you want I am tired and I lost count a few times 😂 however many there are I hope they all hatch! This is my first time raising moths so wish me luck!
Checking on my female Polyphemus Moth and found a friend in her cage with her! I was hoping she would find a mate but I didn’t know he could get completely into her cage 😂 I’ll remember this for next time 😊
