So I’ve got all my allies and I’m about to go rescue Queen Anora and fuck up Loghain and it occurs to me that I still have not met Leliana.

I had my fiancé look it up and…

I fuckin forgot to enter one—ONE—building back in Lothering at the beginning of the game and flat out MISSED Leliana’s intro.

I’m about 90% done with this game and I just…forgot Leliana. I didn’t know that was even possible.

Dragon Age Inquisition Original Game Score

A silly fun little project I've been working on for the past few months while I've been replaying Dragon Age Inquisition with my 1st timeline Inquisitor.

It always bothers me when video games get an official soundtrack release and it turns out to be somewhat lackluster. In DAI's case, the official soundtrack was missing some of the best pieces, while other tracks had been re-mastered in a strange way (adding extra instruments, removing instruments, and incurring many more victims of the loudness war).

So, I extracted some audio files from the game using Frosty Tools, and set about trying to rebuild a proper score tracklist. My goal was to aim for something that more closely adheres to the music that is actually heard in the game, using my own gameplay clips as reference for what plays when and in what order. With perhaps a bit of creative freedom for fun and whimsy.

Tracks assembled and edited in Mixcraft 9 Recording Studio. Tags edited with MP3Tag.

Now including scores for The Descent and Trespasser DLCs as well. Might do a "misc" album later on for the few tracks that didn't make the cut.

I think it's funny that the Warden's letter to the Inquisitor is so nonchalant about the whole curing the Blight thing.

Like this is the person who found the ashes of the Messiah and spoke to the manifestations of saints. They put down an Archdemon. They out-couped another coup with five hitch hikers and a dog.

Of course curing the Blight is just another Tuesday for them.

So I'm playing DAO as a man for the first time and I ran into this very interesting difference between the conversations Alistair can have with Goldana. (Left is playing as a woman, right is playing as a man) (and honestly given that this is the first time I've gotten this dialogue over a dozen playthroughs the only difference I can think of is the gender thing- in the two screenshots the party had about the same amount of money so I know it wasn't that)

She's way more sympathetic to Alistair if you play as a man! And I got to thinking about why the warden's gender would matter for this. And I think it makes sense with what we know of Goldana tbh!

Because when you show up as a woman (a least as a human woman) she assumed you're some tart following after Alistair's riches, and if you're not human she assumes you're his servant.

So Goldana sees Alistair, who she assumes is some lofty prince, roll up with a woman who almost certainly has less power than him based on her assumptions and no doubt automatically assumes he's taking after his father. Because she sees Maric as a man who preyed upon a servant (her mom) who he had a big power imbalance with, and forced himself on her. She knows nothing of Alistair but what she sees- and what she sees seems to indicate that he's following in his father's footsteps and perpetuating the cycle that she believes Maric had with her mom.

Goldana's clearly a person who jumps to conclusions fast so she saw this, made up her mind about the sort of person Alistair was given who she thinks he is and what sort of life he's led, as is rather hostile towards him as a result! And honestly I get it.
