i don't mean any disrespect for your beliefs in being prolife. i just have a genuine question for you: if abortion is made illegal, who is going to help the mother after the baby is born? ive seen a lot of good coming from prolife organizations when someone is pregnant, but what about when the baby is born? do you think the government should fund programs for mothers to be able to afford having a child? again, not look for a heated debate. just would love to know your take on this.
I love genuine questions! Pull up a chair.
I achingly long for the day that the government stops promoting, funding, sponsoring and encouraging abortion so that we can focus on real ways to help women through pregnancy, birth and motherhood. For real. That’s the reason we want abortion gone - so that everyone can devote time and money to a system that treats both mother and child with dignity - abortion fails to do that for each party. I also can’t wait until the foster system and process of fostering and adoption are simplified, while still ensuring that children go to safe and loving homes. Right now, we currently have Catholic Charities and Catholic Relief services to help struggling parents and families, but it’s not nearly enough, and people often don’t trust “those judgmental religious pro-lifers,” believing media stereotypes rather than getting to know us. Most of us have either firsthand or loved ones who have experienced abortion, unplanned pregnancy, and struggled in parenthood, we really do get it. And wouldn’t it be awesome for mothers to get compensation for working 24 hours a day for, well, a lifetime? They are working women too. I and my catholic lady friends and woman advocates have oodles of ideas.
More than anything, I want a culture where no one feels the need to have an abortion. That adoption can be the first and sole recourse when faced with the birth of a child someone cannot or does not wish to raise. That parents respond with love and compassionate understanding when their child shows them a positive pregnancy test, not with “let’s look up our local abortion clinic hours.” That no one feels they need to get rid of their child to go to college, instead that colleges reward and unconditionally support student mothers. That no one seeks abortion so that they can have a career, but that workplaces are able to be child-friendly and accommodating. That boyfriends and pimps who say they will break up with/fire those who do not get an abortion, that they are shamed and exposed as cowards and scum.
In short, the pro-life goal is not to make abortion illegal as much as it is to make abortion unthinkable.

Reading your tags on the Obi and Ani art and getting excited to go find whatever side content this is and then the gasp when you said you haven't written it yet.

Oh my darling, oh my dear, you and me both. I've only posted three chapters of that fic, and will be awhile yet till I get to that scene. But I will get there!
Eventually. Because the reality is fics do not fall out of one's head onto the page complete and without blemish. But I love the story deeply, and look forward to rescuing my dear boy from all the terrible things I'll put him through. :)

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.
- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.
- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.
- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.
That's love. 🐈⬛🐈❤️

I've had an on-and-off low-key crush on you for a while. Not gonna, ya know, bother you and actually DO anything about it tho, don't worry.
I gotta say, I did not see that one coming. Uh thanks? I'm flattered? (As long as you're not that guy I blocked several years ago after not leaving me alone in dms, in which case, begone. XD) I hope you have a wonderful night, friend!
