Y’all remember my Kingdom Hearts headcanon that Mickey can’t use healing spells or potions on himself because the accelerated healing causes his heart to beat too fast? (It’s cause mice in general have a heartbeat of over 400 beats per minute so they tend to faint/have heart attacks easily.)

Well, while I’m not saying the manga adaptation of Kingdom Hearts supports my theory… this scene does allow the headcanon to fit nicely!

Yeah you could argue that Mickey is always looking out for his friends (to the detriment of his own safety which is another angsty headcanon I like to latch onto) but the idea that it could be a medical reason that he keeps to himself just fascinates me!

I want to draw Kingdom Hearts Mickey staring at a black mirror but Dark Aqua starts to faze out of it (and there’s ripples in the mirror like water) and she is kneeled down with her face beside his terrified expression from within the mirror and she has her left arm behind his shoulders with her hand draped above his head and the other hand in front of his heart and there’s darkness entrapping them both and she has a wicked smile and the words floating in the mirror is

“I see nothing but the candles in the mirror, no visions of the future, so lost and alone” which is a quote from the Great Comet musical

And you see why we were robbed in the Kingdom Hearts series of Mickey having more character exploration in regards to Dark Aqua’s development? I feel like he didn’t do anything wrong but I feel like her despair could have been shared a bit more. I mean the fact that we had Mickey actually say “It’s all my fault” is way more than what I was expecting from Disney given the circumstances of KH3’s development… but we could have gotten more fam.

You know what needs to be its own music genre? Popular songs being covered by voice actors. You surprisingly don’t see it often with kid’s shows, but on the rare times it does pop up, it really highlights how much fun voice actors can have with their characters.

I mean you got:

The Looney Tunes singing It’s Now or Never by Elvis

Alvin and the Chipmunks singing Time Warp

Daffy and Bugs Bunny singing Can’t Buy Me Love by the Beatles

Larry and Mr. Lunt singing I Will Always Love You by Celine Dion

Bugs Bunny singing Good Luck Charm by Elvis

Bob and Larry singing Footloose

The Muppets singing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen

The list goes on and on with other examples but those are just some of my favorites.

You can just tell the voice actors are having an absolute blast when you hear these song covers. Plus, it’s such a cool thing to see these characters cross over into our reality in a sense. Idk- it’s just fun! XD

I’m gonna listen to The Looney Tunes sing Jailhouse Rock again.

As the king struggled to look over the endless amount of political proposals, law amendments, and letters he hardly paid attention to the hours that slowly passed him by. While he was not one to enjoy working all night long, he was at least glad to have a good rhythm going in the process.

It wasn’t until well after midnight when the king was jolted out of his routine by a sudden clanging near his right ear.

“W-What?” The king took a moment to realize it was his phone, “Now, who could be callin’ at this hour?”

He slumped out of his chair before taking a moment to stretch his tired bones. He briefly wondered if it would be better to let the phone ring through so he could get back with them in the morning, but decided against that. After all if someone wanted to call him this late at night, it must be important.

With that in mind, he quickly picked up the receiver and attempted to mimic his usual energy level as he spoke,

“Hello? This is the office of King Michael Elias Mouse. Mickey speaking.”

The king looked at the stack of papers and groaned. He had been ignoring his work for quite a while, enough for the pile to balance dangerously above his head. What made that worse was he had been slacking in his literacy lessons too. Seems like he was in for a long night ahead.

“Why do I gotta make things harder fer myself,” he questioned as he reached for the first piece of paper.

“Ah well. Life of a king’s never done, I suppose.”

Ansem couldn’t sleep, then again, he usually couldn’t sleep period, only when he is exhausted and burned out, did he have a chance to rest. Tonight, was no different. Sitting at his desk, the blond frowns as he sighs before looking at his phone and stares at it.

Did he dare? Ienzo kept nagging him to check in on the other and such, but he never had the time, nor the self confidence. Tensing up, he snatches the phone and quickly calls as he closes his eyes.

“Please do not pick up, please do not pick up. Please do not…”
