mind's been wandering all day because i've been fiber crafting, and looks like my friday game is canceled last minute, so let's talk about Omegatooth baby #3

the idea that they're conceived because in a post mission/job (because you know they'd pick back up freelance merc work once Alexei and Misha are old enough and they're too restless) celebratory fun time in foreign locale, turns out that ninjas attack so you know fighting, but afterwards not being sure if the protection was compromised or not. then finding out a time later, on another mission/job, that "hey, remember that ninja fight...yeah we did a whoops"

in that mission, Vic getting greatly hurt, obviously not healing fast enough, so rushed to local hospital and Arkady getting very protective. doctor (who knows about healing factor?) not understanding why he's not healing faster, Arkady having to tell them he's pregnant, the doc going "oh crap really? ok switch gears team" but Ark stepping in making sure that they can save him without terminating the pregnancy and the doc being "what? of course, i just need to do this and this instead" so he lets them work but still watches. after Vic's stable (but still out of it) the doc really being surprised that he'd just assumed that they'd do anything to hurt tehir patients, and Ark's just like 'yeah, most people would who knew them' or whatever.

Vic's ok. the debate about doing a sonogram to make sure the baby's ok, because of his past history and not wanting to get attached...but they do want this baby even if it was an accident (none of the kids were planned, this isn't anything new ^^; ). they finish off the job with little more collateral damage. head back home to take time off now

Vic having major heartburn for most of the pregnancy because this one is not a feral and thus inherits the Rossovich energy manipulation, and that means heartburn i guess

always love the idea of Logan having to come to them for help with something and being so surprised at seeing Vic heavily pregnant. then of course the two of them torn between wanting to cause trouble, getting paid for it, versus keeping tehir kids safe (again highlighting how much better parents they can be compared to Logan)

idk how canon this is. i'd originally named them Sasha, but idk about that anymore either...

Sabretooth War part 8 time

and again, doing it from tower so we can have panels, so that also means a cut to save dash space

bwahahaha idk but that over the top warning box just had me burst out laughing. i sure hope some karen complained that this storyline was too over the top pointlessly graphic (ok i din't really, because again i do enjoy bloody fights, but this is all just edgelordy nonsense for the sake of being unpleasant)

i already mentioned the preview pages, and commented that i liked the parallels in the storytelling, and the Holly Bright/Bonnie Hale things. but the fact that Victor's admitting that he's a victim...has that ever happened before?

aw crap, Savage is dead-dead. i was hoping maybe she wasn't, like how Capt wasn't for an issue, since she wasn't decapitated. but nope, we can't have fun here.

Laura tauntsGraydona nd jumps out a window. he says screw it all.

Logan's getting patched up by Oya and monologing internally about how it;s so great to have no powers and could die at any moment...didn't we do this song and dance years ago before you died dude? also, you're not gonna be able to move very easily with that super heavy metal skeleton that your body won't compensate for properly without your healing factor. you know the adamantium poisoning is gonna get you. we've done this before; stop being so blasé about it.

Nekra thinks Logan's plans are dumb. Mr OC tries a psychic tap and freaks out because Graydon is so much worse than Victor? uh...wut. wiener boi, even in new shiny tinfoil mode, is not as large scale of a threat as you're making him seem. i'm sorry, but no. you cannot excuse taking the spotlight off of a main character because the wieners secondary (tertiary even) character is now the big bad and final threat. i'm just...uhg. Graydon is a wiener, and he has his purposes, but this isn't one of them. "extra dimensional tech will make this easy' yeah, uhhu, sure. you know what would've made this make sense; us seeing HOW we got this cool maybe. because you give the wiener a shiny gun doesn't mean we will immediately think he's cool and capable; it just makes him look like a wiener with a gun and make we should duck because he's probably doing to accidentally shoot himself with it.

and how do you know about that! you weren't part of the Pit Gang conversations. bad writing!!

so Logan takes the Pit Gang (trio really at this point) to his apocalypse bunker. and they fight bears. this is padding.

Black Tom is making them a vegetable plane to go help Laura cause the them got her help texts. mk. and Cuckoo is getting a text from Quint-head that Vic is breaking out of the Audrey Two

and cut back to Logan and friends, and he's in adamantium armor with a Muramasa blade. yeah...lame. if this was to sell action figures maybe, but we don't do that anymore these days. so this is just uhg. also, didn't Laura have one of these getups? are we now repeating the OTHER Wolverine because we don't have enough new ideas???

whelp, this one wasn't so bad (why'd it warrant such a comedic warning idk lol). we progressed a bit, we got some flashbacks, we got a lot of dumb padding/stretching. but Arkady is confirmed still here, and in part 8, so i'll take it. (still not convinced my conspiracy theory that he was originally supposed to be dead in part 1 and it was changed last second isn't true...he has no lines in these 2 pages and could've been added in after the fact...he still isn't in the opening lineups yet Aurora and Northstar are and they haven't appeared in a couple issues)

so yeah, it was an ok episode. we got the plot pushing ahead, got some good reveals, some good character bits. we're setting up the 3-part climax, so yeah. (but why hasn't Storm regrouped yet?? she should've zoomed home before the news cast even ended you'd think)

but wait is that Holo? Holly Bright. from The First X-men

huh, that's a big old yes. neat. i was always fuzzy on if that series was canon or not (since it felt contradictory to other parts of the timeline it should be on)

but the next panel...that's not the same scene

Vic's whole design is different. the first panel, very much matches First X-men. but this one...it's almost close to what he was looking like in Mary Shelley Overdrive...

but that's not Bonnie Hale...and not just because she's not blonde, but the wrong outfit

yet it is probably close to her death scene

artistic flub? blending of memories? the two girls' deaths were similar...he killed them both, but not fully by his own choice, so that is plausible...

but interesting. someone did their homework.

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

Don't waste your time being too cool to have fun, y'know?

ooo piggybacking off my last post;

you do not put Jean-Marie and Clarice in the same room together under any circumstances

back in the Alpha Flight/X-Factor time, the Kyle/Jean-Marie thing still kinda happened. yes she had her mental health issues, but she still used and abused Kyle and his affection for her to make herself seem and feel better, and that helped pushed Kyle into a more feral/lesser-than state

Kyle went up north first to Alpha Flight. Clare came up when things got bad, and together they relocated to X-Factor after her clashing with Jean-Marie became too much of a problem

because again, Clare and Kyle get together...despite being technically adoptive siblings for a small handful of years (remember Clare was adopted around age 8, Kyle closer to 14 and he's a year or so younger than her, and they are free agents here 18-20). Kyle running north was an attempt for them to distance when feelings started to change, and maybe he fell too quick for Jean-Marie because of that too...

one of the last clashes they had before the team switch was a brawl through base, prompted because Jean-Marie was talking trash after catching Clare and Kyle finally kissing and admitting what's going on between them in a private moment. Clare is a Creed, there was no denying that. but as the girls are restrained and separated, Jean-Marie is yelling about how "they're both disgusting animals raised by monsters" and Clare is yelling back "you're just mad that i'm allowed to screw my brother and you're not"

anyways, they switch teams. X-Factor doesn't bring up the fact that they should technically be siblings (neither were ever *officially* adopted after all) and really develop a relationship. Clare keeps Kyle in check, and they're bot legal consenting adults who are not related and have only known each other a quarter of their lives so far, so why should it matter.

and again as said before, the Island tries to keep them apart, tries to strip Clare of her name, Kyle of his humanity, yaddayaddayadda. and just Jean-Marie refusing to give Kyle an apology because "she was a different person then and acknowledging [him] is too triggering". but oh, you know that no one lets her anywhere near Clare or vise versa. because there will be blood.

learning about Birdy's island of stupid appearances and tracking them down, got me thinking about my -verses...

my Bernadette "Birdy" Holmes, being the mother figure to Clare and Kyle before her death

my Birdy, having to play therapist to Jean-Marie, who had used Kyle in the past to elevate herself, who had broken him, who was probably one of the biggest voices in decrying Clare and Kyle's relationship when it started, and who wasn't hesitant to bring it back up in the present when the island was grasping for ways to *legally* tear the Creed Pack apart

my Birdy, learning her kids are full grown and around only through said therapy, because again the island was purposefully keeping them apart

my Birdy not actually harming Jean-Marie, but oh so most certainly giving her sucjh a huge spook when se drops the "Oh why yes I had kids, adopted. my partner ad i adopted a girl together, and shortly before my death we adopted a boy too. you might know them actually...Clarice Creed" and Jean-Marie going pale. but Birdy never hurt her

Birdy then finding Clare and Kyle, and the bittersweet reunion since they're both so fully grown now

Birdy learning that Arkady broke Victor out of the Pit. (she's still rezzed post escape) being questioned if she could help hunt them down, and refusing, but also "i just was rezzed how would i know where they'd go?"

in the recapture fragment of the timeline, Birdy meeting up with Victor in the bar one day (he of course nursing Misha because funny) and again kinda bittersweet, but she's so glad that he's finally doing good. and then probably the awkward funny conversation with Arkady about the "wait didn't i try to kill you" "yeah but i don't hold that against you" (it really is funny that 2 of Vic's exes have tried to murder Arkady specifically well before he and Vic hooked up lol)

maybe it's actually Birdy who finds Kimi and helps her escape the island stuff and get to Clare and Kyle. full family therapy works for her i guess.

so i went to look up that Maverick: In The Shadow of Death one-shot from the latest Sabretooth chronological reading list, because it said "Sabes conscripts Birdy" and i didn't recall reading it when i was doing my read through of all Vic's appearances from a diff list

yeah i didn't read this before, and it probably wasn't on that other list because it's a second hand flashback

but what more, is i also did a read through of all of Arkady's appearances, and this also wasn't on that list. which is so weird because this is chock full of him (and even Epsilon so how i also missed this one while researching him is also weird).

and this is important because i know i've seen this panel yet hadn't read this book

and it's the only other instance of a pre-augmented Arkady i know of

also i thought he was sent to an Antarctic base not and arctic, but that one might be on me...and those are probably his last victims before the Interpol chase, since we know he killed Banshee's partner

anyways, just super interesting and wanted to share in case anyone else didn't know.

i decided that a blacklight monty sounded like a good idea, since i'm being big on the blacklight/dayglo colors atm. also neat to see how much has changed in a month (and also different yarns too but still) when comparing to the original monty i made. camera IS terrible, but still the dayglo does glow neon, so the colors look terribly off, but he is indeed some lovely blacklight/dayglo and i love it
