I got called out for finally joining the fold with @paigewilhog when I pulled out my camera to grab shots of @smallcheval and to capture how absolutely delicious everything looked in that moment… and I’m glad I did. 🍔 While walking back from grabbing coffee earlier in the day, @paigewilhog and I passed @smallcheval not realizing what it was or that we’d be eating there later in the evening, and paused just to take in the flavors pouring out onto the street from the shop beyond the picnic tables. The smell was divine, the flavors rich and full, these were the burgers and aiolis I didn’t realize I was craving. Three years since Covid changed the world, and three years of adjusting to new experiences and expectations none of us could have ever imagined… but we’re still here and we’re still working to define what “normal” even looks like now, and how we might yet make the most of it. For @paigewilhog and I, travel still looks and feels different; so much of the world around us moving as if nothing ever happened, but our reality suggesting it can never be the same as it was. So what do we do? It’s a question I continuously grapple with, and the long term couldn’t seem any hazier, but I do still love travel and I still want to experience so much. Diligence with our plan and our strategy through the pandemic has been tough, it’s been straining, but I’m grateful to be making the journey with someone that understands my quirks and my (at times) compulsive attention to risk management that has included our approach to crowded spaces… there aren’t many people that still accept it. - I have so many photos from our trip to Chicago, and while so many of them are buildings and what I thought were moments with good light, I also have a handful of portraits that likely won’t meet the @paigewilhog approval standards, but I’m glad I have them. What if we just had fun? 💅 From the hand-painted press ons @paigewilhog has been experimenting with to the finger tattoos we thought we’d try, there have been some moments lately that have just felt… fun. Valentines Day was pretty uneventful; work and emails, dinner, then a goofy photo shoot and the Harley Quinn V-Day special. It was simple, but it really was an incredible day.
