People are curious how I’ve been hitting bombs 💣 on the golf course (still shooting 92 🤦🏻‍♂️😂)... With Golf, Jiu Jitsu, and Life... been incorporating some of the lifts that were always a staple in my regimen as a competitor and athlete... That is full body exercise, explosive lifts, fast twitch activation, heart rate up at all times, and short rest periods. Mobility always a focus. Lots of twisting and bending during the day to stay mobile and incorporating that into the warmup. Completely eliminated alcohol 🍺 for the past 7 days as well. After making it through the weekend no reason I can’t do it for another week! Not an issue just a sucker for a good IPA. Plus, the energy boost and weigh management control is phenomenal. . Been hearing the word “poor” a lot lately. “I’m poor” Usually things don’t catch my vision, but this phrase has. “I’m poor”... I hear it more often... see & hear others say it... they believe it’s now permissible for them to say it because they heard someone say it and their small audience said “lol” But they don’t realize what they’re saying. They’re admitting to the World their complete value. They are speaking it into existence and it’s negatively impacting their DNA, existence, and life. Spoken word is that powerful. Tell you what... I’ve been broke.... many times... never been poor. I’ve never stated that I’ve been poor. The words have never came out of my mouth. Because I’m not. Because “poor” is a mindset. Period. I AM “I am blessed, grateful, thankful, happy, healthy, wealthy, full, pure, lively, energized, passionate, loving...” or even “I’m broke, but this too shall pass because I’m not poor”. Don’t let others convince you how to feel/what to say and then you crave the attention so much that a “poor” mindset is manifested. You speak this into the world. That’s ugly. You get “lol”’s and attention. But then you actually become poor in real life. You become dependent. It’s a mindset. And it’s permanent. Speak it. Say it. Pray it. 🙏 Positive energy guys. There’s beauty in winter golf. 40 degrees or warmer count me in (have played in colder). I think the real beauty is that you continue to grind while most quit for the season. You’re out there in the elements getting active outside of your comfort zone. My goals are a little different than others so it’s important that I don’t stop playing and continue the grind. Also, don’t expect the same from others (why would they want the same things you want). When I played football, I would always grind in the off season. “Work hard in the winter so you can ball in the summer and fall” 🚀 Same thing here. Whatever it is. I don’t expect to be a scratch golfer tomorrow, but consistent frequency and repetition of good practice will always result in good things. No matter what it is... AS LONG AS you are disciplined, you have the fundamentals down, you are determined, you are coachable and can accept feedback, you have a shot to reach your goals. You don’t give up because others do. You begin when others stop. You show perseverance when others quit. You find beauty in 42 degree weather when they find it “cold”. It’s tough for many to get in a groove during the holidays because, well, it’s the holidays. We are just running around like crazy trying to please everyone. Typical me would say “f$&k your resolutions” or “don’t wait for the new year” and although I don’t like “waiting to start” there’s a ton of research shown for those who set New Years goals see more success than others. Now if you find yourself consistently setting the same goals and never making progress, well, that’s another story. Nonetheless, set those goals. Write them down. Aim high. Get some momentum heading into next year!! Super grateful to be back in the gym consistently to finish the year strong. Been on a solid routine for the past 6-8 weeks.
