I've changed a lot over the years. I've grown from a little girl who thought she could rule the world to a young woman who is in love with the One who rules the world. I've loved and had my heart broken. I've dreamed and been disappointed. I've made mistakes a plenty. Even with all the negative there is still so much more good. I've accomplished so many goals. I've traveled and adventured. I've felt the joy of true friendship. I've discovered bits of myself along the way, and I'm exactly who I need to be in this moment. I am perfectly imperfect and the One who wrote the past, present, and future is writing my story. I am a night shift ED RN at UAB. 2. Not only am I adopted but I am the oldest grandchild on both sides and I am the only female grandchild on both sides. 3. I was a missionary for the North American Mission Board and have served in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach; New York City; Memphis; South Carolina; and Mexico. 4. I have a blog in which I discuss pop culture, politics, and post-modern christianity. 5. I have one tattoo at the moment with plans for at least two more. 6. I have an unhealthy obsession with pickles. 7. I LOVE documentary films and I'm a conspiracy theory junkie. 8. My favorite colors are tiffany blue, mint green, and lilac; my favorite flowers are carnations and tulips; my favorite season is fall; my favorite animal is an elephant; and my favorite desserts are cheesecake and tiramisu. 9. My biggest fears are dying alone and letting down those who love me most.

Happiest of happy birthdays to this girl right here - the one and only Rachel Davis Glass! From the day we met I knew God had answered my prayers. I was a baby Christian who was starting college and knew virtually no one on campus. We were paired as roommates through the potluck system, and our friendship was instantaneous. I was lucky enough to be her roommate for four years, stand by her side as she married one of the best guys in the world, and celebrate her as a mom. We have laughed together and cried together; worshipped together and mourned together; traveled together and explored together. Even though we don't share a bathroom anymore and life has placed us in two different cities we will always be perpetual roommates. The picture from 2011 was taken shortly before the tornado. I would see death up close and personal that day. The picture from 2015 was taken at the end of a long shift at Children's as I waited on the helipad for a critical patient. The picture from this year was taken as I was getting ready for work, mentally preparing myself for what the shift would hold. A lot has changed over the past seven years - I've experienced so much that the girl in the 2011 picture would have never imagined; however, some things never change. #growth #change #selfie
